101  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Data Center Mining Garage and Man Mining Cave ( PART 2 !!!!!!!!) on: February 28, 2017, 08:02:43 AM
FIRST RULE OF MINING if you want to MAKE Money.  You will thank me later.

1) SAY NO TO WIFI!
2) SAY NO TO POWERLINE Adapters

Let's not have a hundred back and forth discussion on this.  I will explain why.

WIFI is good for a few rigs, maybe for Test Stations.  The more devices you add, the more it will cause interference / issues.  Even my trusted Power Line Adapters started having issues over time and this COST ME LOTS of $$$.  All this because I didn't want to pay for the Ethernet runs.  I end up paying for the Ethernet run anyway plus the revenue loss.   Most Home router CPU are not designed to handle too many devices at once either.   If you're mining inside your HOME or garage, not only is your gear if open Air, going to JAM the signal pretty badly, it will also degrade the WIFI signal badly.  I got to a point where I can't even open my Garage door due to interference.  This is via the Garage door Clicker and outside panel.  My Chamberlain and Rachioo both are wireless stop working until I shut everything off.  All my friends who did WIFI and PowerLine eventually shell out for hard wire.  You simply can not beat hard wire.  Would you trust a cell phone or a land line when you have a very important call?  Same idea.  It would work most of the time, but the 1 time you need it to work it may fail on you.

FOR TEMP solution - SURE but plan on having hard wire ONLY if you're going to be SERIOUS about mining.

Hallelujah  Cheesy

Especially the Powerline adapters are the worst, ever been on the same power group with your speakers and listened to music? You can here the data being downloaded  Roll Eyes

Always go wired indeed!

GameCredits 25th newsletter: 'Gamecredits API is Ready for Game Developers!'

The newsletter also covers partnerships with IBM and Microsoft

Read it here: https://gamecredits.net/newsletter/issues/25/

Am I the only one where the links in the newsletter do not work at all?
Clicking the youtube link empties the page, and the other two don't work at all  Huh

Tried in both Firefox and Chrome
103  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Is now the time to buy on: February 28, 2017, 07:52:26 AM
Really depends on your goal I guess. If you go shot term than a BTC rally is most probably not in your favor.
But if you go long term and you invest in a coin that you researched well than this is as good as a time as any.
104  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What are you currently Mining and why? on: February 27, 2017, 02:12:25 PM
I used to mine scrypt coins with my A2, but due to high electricity prices in the Netherlands I don't mine anymore.
Used to mine multipools mostly, and some coins at their release.

Now I sometimes use the GPU (Only have one Tongue ), but also only at releases, mined ZEC a while.

So currently nothing at all, just investing.
105  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Which Graphic Card on: February 27, 2017, 01:56:06 PM
I would go AMD as well, but would wait for the release of the new cards, that is not that far of in the future.
Then either buy the new cards, or buy the massive amounts of 2nd hand cards that will flood the market relatively cheap Smiley
106  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Is it possible to go over 7 GPU? on: February 27, 2017, 01:46:43 PM
And here is one who is succesfully using 8, maybe contact him: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1803379.0

Dahm that is an immense setup you've got there.
Little bit jealous here  Tongue

This is very interesting.

How can one apply to be a Super node?
And if possible, what are the hardware specs for that?
109  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Is it possible to go over 7 GPU? on: February 23, 2017, 03:18:07 PM
There is a topic about going to 7 GPU's: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=712228.0
I assume the same process would work for going over 7 GPU's, messing around with the driver and a lot of headache, blood and tears I think  Tongue

But try and contact the topic owner there, user: lbr

They guy that Innosillicon decided to go with improving the source code is called Nowayz on this forum btw

I have never received any word back from Innosillicon regarding my proposal to them, not even after a reminder email with a modified proposal Undecided

Happy birthday GameCredits!

I am very curious what the next 3 years will bring.
114  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: No competition in the next 3 months, buy A4 now and enjoy the profit today! on: January 15, 2017, 12:22:19 PM
I can confirm they are busy contacting people who can optimize the code.
They have contacted me, and for what I know of one other person, and we are in the process of constructing a deal (I don't own an A4 at the moment for example).

Awesome news!

Whats the potential in optimizing the code?  Are we talking higher hashrates and/or lower power consumption?  Any estimate as to how much?

I'm excited to see the beginnings of what I perceive to be innosilicon making the software open source they said they would.

For me the priority is Stabilization > Optimization > New features.

Right now unfortunately the A4 is not as stable for me as my A2's with Anx software. However, they have been improving it since release and I'm excited to hear they are reaching out to developers in an effort to make it even better.

Stability on multipools is one of the first potentials in optimization, which the very first I would do is extranonce. More stability means more net hashrate. More possibilities in under and overclocking in both clockspeeds and possibly voltage settings might increase efficiency for the long run or increase profitability (at expense of electric costs) on the short run.

I have however not heard back from Innosilicon.... Might be they are going with the other guy, or they are going to do it themselves, or they still have yet to get back to me.
115  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Antminer L3 - 250mh - 400watt Scrypt miner coming soon on: January 13, 2017, 10:14:25 AM
And with no production and Chinese new year that will take a while as well

Innosilicon dropped their price for Dominator A4. Nice move.
to what? they don't show on site, says "ask us, as we have machines we cant sell" :/
also says "most powerful on market" ya 30mh/s more than L3, at TWICE the power -- misleading much?
ALSO says "atleast 1050w PSU" good luck on that they DRAW 1050 or more -- so misleading.
i wont touch these, they wouldn't try snow us so much IF they cared about this community as more than a paycheck
im still going all L3
1400$
power consuption 800W with overclocked to 300 MH

what they told me for price on the A4 was 1700 bucks. Big whoop. $100 bucks off. Don't think the L3 has a lot to worry about.
(Though I'm still not getting one at this time) Sad

Hi, I have an old A2Mini 24Mhs, first/second release - minereu, what is the correct firmware to install?

Thanks in advance W_M

Yes, Innosilicon, please give him one to test! Emdje, I am eagerly awaiting your a4 custom image Wink. I am running your image on my A2 and it is amazing.

Thank you for your compliment  Smiley

With all the great news recently and the announcement for more news, this recent activity on the exchange smells like the calm before the storm.
