101  Other / Meta / Re: Prohibiting newbies from starting a topic on: November 27, 2017, 02:55:42 PM
No. What would it solve? They'd just spam in existing topics, which is even worse.

They already do that, unless the topic is intereting, and then it is left to die because they don't understand it.

Maybe sig programmes should have an entrance exam. Smiley

Not an entrance exam. A payout exam.
Let them all in and at payout time temp-ban the spammers & put them on SMAS.

I feel like this would work much better. Discouraging noobs to spam in Signature Campaigns once they've been accepted.
102  Other / Meta / Re: Prohibiting newbies from starting a topic on: November 27, 2017, 02:41:41 PM
Hey, newbies spamming and shit-posting problem getting worse everyday. Some users suggested to bring back the noob jail, others decided to only visiting some subs (or left?).
The question is clear and i will not vote but what i suggest is to prohibit the newbies from posting except for copper member newbies (small fine/contribution or wait a month!).

I agree... Sort of... I feel like some noobs (like me back then) were capable of discussing topics & occasionally starting new topics, all without spamming!
I feel like it wouldn't be fair to all those noobs that have good intentions. Though a solution is necessary and this is probably the best one.

Besides, we have to start banning the Jr. Member+ spammers, so we discourage spamming.

103  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: ETHPLORER link to ETHERDELTA on: November 27, 2017, 02:35:04 PM
Navigation in etherdelta is complicated for our tokens, especially tokens that are officially listed.

That is why, currently, based on ethplorer, we have created a script that allows us with just one click to consult the tokens stored in your wallet in etherdelta.

Here is a sample
This is what ethplorer looks like originally

https://gdurl.com/ad7m

After executing my script

https://gdurl.com/mONEe

this is the script
Code:
$("#address-token-balances table.table a.local-link").each(function(){var e="https://etherdelta.com/#{{token}}-ETH",t=this.href.split("/"),a=t[t.length-1],n=$(this).parent().next(),l=e.replace("{{token}}",a);n.wrapInner('<a href="'+l+'" target="_blank" />')});

put then into google chrome web console.

Oh, that's pretty sweat...

Although Etherdelta navigation really isn't that complicated once you're used to it...
I think it has pretty great navigation actually, as you can easily switch from token to token.

Good Luck & Have Fun on your project anyways! :-)
104  Other / Politics & Society / Re: End of the World on: November 27, 2017, 09:32:37 AM
Many people say that we are the last generation of human race. Some say that the end of the world is near. What do you think, how will the world end?

People constantly say the world's end is near, to make themselves famous, earn money or to motivate people to help solve certain problems.

An example of this is Global Warming. It has been exagerated on A LOT, but if that didn't happen, no one would try to solve it. Why? Because "100 years from now" sounds like a whole new era, which you will never live long enough for to see.
Thus, as the selfish beings we are, people wouldn't try to solve it, until, of course, it's too late and the problem has grown too big to solve. Therefore, we keep hearing that the world's end is near.

I believe humanity isn't going to be extinct any time soon. If we survive the next 150 years, we're gonna survive the next couple billions of years as well.
The current number one threat is probably a large meteorite. If it's large enough and hits the Earth on the right spot, we could be extinct quite easily. Maybe there would be a couple survivors... In a landscape filled with ashes, toxic substances, long cold periods and lacking organisms we're used to eat.

We're gonna have technology to avoid those meteorite impacts though and after we have that technology, our number one threat switches: It'll be our own annihilation.

105  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Litecoin's future on: November 27, 2017, 09:11:41 AM
It very strong coin , and Charlie Lee is very crafty marketer. So it will be expensive anyway.

When the LiteCoin is being pumped continually then investor will start to give LiteCoin a break. People are investing if they see the potential to be one of the high valued Cryptocurrency so today LiteCoin price isn't bad and will probably continue to rise especially next year.

Can you stop spamming the Altcoin discussion please? Not only are you double-posting, you're also adding NOTHING to the discussion.
You're talking BS. It's not funny, not helpful and not good for this forum.

Please stop, or there will be consequences, as your behaviour is not acceptable.

106  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Should I research altcoins? on: November 27, 2017, 09:09:25 AM
Hi all,

Seeing as I have a lot of free time, I have decided to take on the mammoth task of researching the top 600 alt coins.

I will review their white papers, research their team and make comparisons between projects. I will write a 500+ word assessment for each project that I research. I currently do not have a job and so, can dedicated 100% of my time towards this. I will work down the list by market capitalisation starting with Bitcoin, then Ethereum etc.

Overall, the project should take me around 1 - 2 months.

Between every 100 projects I review, I will write a 1000+ word paper on comparing similar and competing projects.

I will also leave links to the documents as I go through so that other investors can benefit and read.

A little bit of background about me: I discovered Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies a few months ago. I have dropped out of school after making a (very) significant amount of money in the crypto-space. I can program in C++, Javascript, Python and Solidity.

I will begin today, and will have papers on Bitcoin, Ethereum and Bitcoin Cash ready and released.

If you have any suggestions about coins that you would like researched, please feel free to leave a comment  Smiley
If this project gets enough attention, I will create a website and a proper presentation.

Introductory paper - https://docs.wixstatic.com/ugd/2459d4_0475705022cb4bcd9de7469407b78bdf.pdf

Wow... That's a nice, but very demanding project. 600 Alt coins in 1-2 months? That's 10 alt coins per day, if you decide to do it in 2 months... Without skipping one single day! I'm not sure if you're gonna get out alive, but it's a nice project anyway.
Good luck & Have fun on this one. Definitely interested to see what you and your project will achieve.
Following this one :-)
107  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Euthanasia on: November 27, 2017, 09:06:15 AM
Situational question
Being in a vegetative state or in a comatose state entails a lot of financial, physical and emotional sacrifices for the families of the patient.
Given the fact that someone close to you or you yourself is in a comatose state, will you allow for the "pulling of the plug" or will you fight for your life?

Depends... If I'm going to be blind, deaf, dumb and lose my arms & legs, I don't want to live anymore. I'd be completely disabled for the rest of my life, so I'd figure I'd end it as quickly as possible.
Though, if it's a comatose state one can get out of relatively unharmed, I'd not pull the plug. Why? It's a short, temporary state of being, not a long-term/permanent one.

Anyways, if I'm not able to commit suicide anymore for the rest of my life, I'll just end it ASAP. Euthanasia is OK in my opinion.

108  Economy / Economics / Re: Do you know of any economic incentives encouraging equality? on: November 27, 2017, 08:59:14 AM

This has been something I thought for quite some time. Many consensus protocols seem to have no notion of governing equality, instead, they heavily focus on equitability or meritocracy, which preferential system always penalize the late adopters. To an extent, the lack of focus in this area compels networks to naturally become centralised. Are there any examples of blockchain type coins which develop their consensus model on this?

If you want equality, then you should limit the amounts of coins/tokens that every user should have.
If all the investors in some ICO have 100 tokens each and this is the maximum they could buy,i think that is the closest thing to equality. The problem is that many people could create fake accounts/identities in order to buy more tokens/coins,so they will avoid this rule.Meritocracy is actually something good.If you want more equality, this will hurt the consept of meritocracy.

Yeah... Everyone will create fake identities, which will cause chaos. What you just thought of encourages cheating!
Cryptocurrencies are meant to be anonymous, so we either take away the anonymity of the cryptocurrency to be able to punish the cheaters, or we reward the cheaters for cheating, as they can obtain a lot more coins than legitimate users.

I'm not sure what would work in this case... I mean... Cryptocurrencies and equality going together? Not sure how. Anonymity was one of the major features of cryptocurrencies and we would have to take that away to be able to enforce equality... It would probably be way easier to do that without the current form of cryptocurrencies, which are almost all giving rich investors more than poor investors. (Think about ICOs which give large investments more bonuses than small investments)

And it's the rich people ruling the world. I mean... We got Mr. Donald controlling one of the most powerful countries in the world... A billionaire... Would he allow equality, if that'd mean he'd lose a lot of money? Probably not.

I feel like we're heading towards a war. Might be like the cold war, no real fighting. It'll probably consist out of ton of negotiations, splitting some countries, etc.. Then we might have a bit more equality temporarily, after which we'll head downwards once again, slowly losing all of the equality in the world. It's a cycle and no one knows how much longer it is until the bubble's gonna burst.

109  Other / Meta / Re: This section is a mess. on: November 27, 2017, 08:46:45 AM
Browsing Meta for the past short while has become nothing but a drove of 'My Account is locked/hacked' and 'How do I rank up?' topics. It doesn't help matters that the majority of the latter topics are several pages of people saying exactly the same thing to spam their ICO campaign signatures.
To show the extent of this, here's a screenshot of the Meta section's first two pages (red relating to a hacked/locked account and blue relating to activity). Out of around 80 topics, 27 are 'My account is locked/hacked' and 12 are 'How do I rank up?' topics. That's just under half of all topics in the first two pages belonging to one of these two types of topic. You can also see that the topics marked in blue usually have several pages, which is all likely spam (as the answer to the questions posted can likely be clearly defined in 2-3 posts).

To fix this, I'd firstly suggest a new sub-board for those with hacked/locked accounts to post in. It's obvious that this is a fairly large problem as of late, and having a single sub-board for it would make life easier for those needing to find these topics in addition to making the Meta section much more interesting to read and take part in.
However, since this requires admin intervention meaning (alongside it being regarding hacked/locked accounts) there's little chance of anything happening, my second suggestion could be carried out by anyone with moderation permissions in the Meta section.
Similarly to how the [General] threads exist in the Beginners/Help section and the section is moderated using these, I'd suggest that threads asking the same questions would be moved to Trashcan and the OP would be directed to an already existing thread answering their question. Whether the threads that people are redirected to currently existing threads or new threads are written is dependent on how the moderation staff feel. This tactic would reduce the threads that are essentially asking the same question repeatedly, would remove an avenue for signature spammers to post in and would allow all questions to be asked in one single place for organization.

Thoughts?

Agreed. It's getting annoying that all of these threads are about the same thing and that they've become easy targets for Signature Campaign Spammers.
A sub-board would help a lot, as long as people actually follow it. I got faith in humanity though, so I assume the average Bitcointalk user is intelligent enough to figure out where to post their hacked thread...

110  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Grab a piece of crypto history! on: November 27, 2017, 08:40:45 AM
Any benefits if I were to use your service, like traffic or magnet? Or just purely for the history?

Yeah, they want to make money. The reason they made this is not to put you into the history or advertise your service. It is meant to be an "easy money" method.
An older website was successful with this concept and cryptopiece.com is copying that other website, turning "internet history" into "crypto history". They haven't made even the slightest change to the website...

Check out the older one: http://milliondollarhomepage.com/
And then this one: cryptopiece.com

They're exactly the same, with the only difference being that one is focussed on Cryptocurrencies and the other isn't.
I feel like Cryptopiece should atleast have its layout changed a bit, so it looks like it's more than just a copy of a successful site.

It's not made for you, your history or your advertisements.
It's made for them, money & a whole lot of success.
111  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: Looking for someone to help post an ICO ANN on: November 27, 2017, 08:33:24 AM
Hello.

We are looking to post an ANN in the next few days.

Looking for someone to help us with it.

Cheers.

I see that you bought your copper member status? If you still need someone of higher ranks to post it, please PM me the ICO ANN thread and what section to post it in. I'll then post it.

Although I thought Copper Members were able to post images too? Anyways, if you still need it: PM me. I do it for free.
112  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Why people are unhappy? on: November 27, 2017, 08:27:10 AM
Did you ever thought why many people are not happy even they have many possessions in life?  Did you ever thought the reason behind those agonies even if they tried to be happy but it wont last that long?  Physically,  they showed to the whole world that they are strong,  they enjoy their lives to the fullest.  But at end of the day,  loneliness attacks.  Did you ever thought why people are unhappy?

The reason people are unhappy, is because they compare themselves to others.

Poor people being unhappy, often revolves around the point they don't have a lot of possessions.
Rich people being unhappy, often revolves around the point they don't have a feeling of "accomplishment", or they are completely excluded out of the "fun" social circles and put into the "business" society.

Another cause can be love. Love, possession and might are the three most common problems people face. If someone loses his/her/its loved one, he/she/it would probably become unhappy temporarily and possibly for the rest of their life, depending on their age, loyalty, and much more factors.

There's a whole bunch of reasons people could be unhappy for. These were just four quite common ones.
113  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: Altcoins on: November 26, 2017, 08:25:25 PM
Which Altcoin is next to Bitcoin and is being accepted worldwide?

Bitcoin is indeed the most accepted, used and known cryptocurrency.
But there's not really a "next to bitcoin" thing.

Highest Market cap? Ethereum
Most used for uses similar to Bitcoin? Litecoin

There's more things, but Ethereum & Litecoin are probably the best candidates for "next to Bitcoin" alts.

114  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: BTC or BCH??? on: November 26, 2017, 08:09:38 PM
Quite confusing!😂 Witch one is really the best investment!?😂

That is opinion-based. No one knows which is the best one. Both have their pros and cons, but I'd go for BTC.

BCH doesn't provide significant improvements and isn't as widely accepted as BTC, so I'd stick with BTC for now..
Though it's really opinion-based and no one's opinion is the best.
115  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: Free bitcoin website - trustworthy? on: November 26, 2017, 06:37:37 PM
Someone who's been pretty helpful to me in another forum has a signature for a site called FreeBitco.in

I'm wondering about sites like these - are they trustworthy? I imagine I won't get very much in terms of actual value, but hey some is better than none... right? Smiley

My main concern is whether this site is known to carry viruses, keyloggers, etc? My antivirus didn't show anything when I checked out the site but I hesitate to get too involved.

Thanks for any info Smiley

As others have mentioned, it's probably the most famous and trusted faucet site. It also allows people to gamble and even to mine in your browser ( https://mining.freebitco.in/mining.html ).

Though that's not very profitable. Getting others to join it through your referral link will probably make you more money, although even that probably won't be of any signifance to your life.

If you want to make some easy, but meaningful amounts of money, try joining Bounty Campaigns or simply Signature Campaigns. Those are far more profitable and are very easy to use too.
If that's nothing for you, you could try using Steemit. Faucets really don't give you a reasonable amount of money.
116  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: do altcoin bounties usaully pay off on: November 26, 2017, 03:52:15 PM
hi
i am currently participating in several bounties and although i have yet to be paid, I'm wondering if people usually get paid with the tokens, and if so, is it profitable and worth the effort? thank you for your insight.

Altcoin Bounties are usually paid out, but just after the Tokens have been paid out, the price will often drop far below the ICO's price.

Why? Because all of the bounty campaign participants sell all of their tokens for insanely low prices. Some tokens have dropped more than 90%, simply due to the insane sell-offs of bounty campaign participants.

The danger of Bounty Campaigns is thus not whether you'll receive the tokens, but whether the tokens will keep their value.
In many cases, the token will rise in value once the Bounty selling is over, but that's not always the case.

Personally, I prefer to invest once the Bounty Selling is going, than when the ICO is running, simply due to the insane Bounty Sell-Offs.

Back to your question: The altcoin bounties usually pay off, if you think rationally about the potential price movements. Either sell quickly or wait until the price has recovered. It's your choice!

In my view, positive trust rating is good. It may be useful for areas of this forum I have not been familiar. But the trust rating you should avoid by all means is the negative trust. It will deny you so much opportunities.
That is true. Sometimes red trust however cannot be avoided. For instance when moderators support the hidden agenda's of their green friends, or when they simply feel annoyed by your presence.

I hope that you two do understand that what you posted was COMPLETELY IRRELEVANT to the topic?

The question was "How can you get trust?"
Then you answer "You should avoid red trust!"

Is that a valid answer? Nope.
Are your posts spam? Yup!
Are you safe? Nope.
Are you getting what you're recommending others to avoid? If you continue, Yup!

I highly recommend that you start improving your post quality.
119  Economy / Reputation / Re: Gaining trust as a beginner on: November 25, 2017, 09:58:57 PM
Willing to show someone that I can be trusted since I'm a newbie. This website is very helpful to the good people I see.

Do you want to buy anything? Games? Domino's Pizza gift cards?

Do it on here! That's the easiest way to gain a lot of trust here. If you complete as many of your trades through here, you will start gaining a lot of legitimate trust (opposed to trust farming, which I'd consider illegitimate trust).

Though I wonder what you want to do with that trust... Escrow a large trade and run away with the funds?
Well, everyone has their own way of getting rich!  Wink
