81  Economy / Speculation / Re: ONE MIRRION DORRAR on: November 30, 2017, 12:46:52 PM
Have you guys seen this tweet?

Is he insane or can we actually see BTC rise to $1M by 2020?
I personally tend to think it's quite unlikely due to known bitcoin limitations and the amount of people already invested but i will be happy to hear the alternative opinions.
Your thoughts?

It's not impossible, but HIGHLY unlikely. Let's look at some facts:

Bitcoin's supply will be approximately 18 million in 2020.
If Bitcoin's price is $1,000,000 per coin, Bitcoin's market cap would be $18 Trillion.
The global GDP will be around $93.5 Trillion in 2020, according to Statistica.

That means that almost 20% of the global GDP will be put into Bitcoin. You see this happening anytime soon? I don't.
It's likely that a cryptocurrency will be used worldwide, by everyone. Will it be Bitcoin? Probably not.

Bitcoin is popular right now, because if you say "blockchain", everyone immediately says "bitcoin" and not "Could provide some significant advantages for the survival of our species if we were to integrate it in our future technology". Why? Because the vast majority of the human race isn't very intelligent.
People want to make some quick profits. People aren't investing in Bitcoin because they have studied the Bitcoin technology for multiple years and have come to the conclusion that it is a very useful technology. They are investing in Bitcoin because they think it can give them some quick profits, without thinking very well about it.

Most people don't want to hear it, but Bitcoin is in some sort of a bubble now, but it's not really like the bubbles that we've experienced in the past, like the Tulip Mania. This bubble is gonna collapse, but no one knows when. It's probably gonna last a couple more years until it's collapsing. In these years, it could break the 1-milliondollar-milestone.

Bitcoin's current value is not very accurate. It's not that widely used that it's worth $10,000 per Bitcoin. Bitcoin has to undergo some serious renovations to fix issues like Transaction Fees & Durations, or we simply switch to an other cryptocurrency. I think the latter will occur, which will turn Bitcoin into a "Collector's Item", as it's the original. No one knows what that collector's item will be worth, but I'd recommend waiting a couple decades before selling your's, so a lot of Bitcoins have been lost, never to be found again.

Anyways, he's either insane or he is trying to trick people into buying more Bitcoin & Holding them for longer, so he can make more money by trading it.

But who knows... Maybe Bitcoin actually reaches 20% of our global GDP by 2020... It's all possible! That's the magical world of Cryptocurrencies!  Cheesy

UPDATE1: New models suggest that the US dollar might cope with serious inflation. When the US dollar loses 50% of its value, Bitcoin automatically grows 100% in its value compared to USD. Inflation might just do it as well  Smiley

Thank you for notification as what is going on. People get worried when names go missing and payment not received early like last week. Also people wondering who the best posts are for bonus payment.

That's rather misleading, payments were send at Wednesday midnight. That's 12 hours from now so we aren't late like you mention. One name going missing is no issue to panic especially when we have been very open and quick to fix any errors in the past. We're only humans, right? Smiley
Hey, Angel!

You told me you would approve me, but I'm not in the spreadsheet of participants, so I wondered...

Did you make up your mind and decide not to accept me, just forgot to add me or is there an other reason?

I hope you are able to answer ASAP, so if I'm not accepted, I can quickly start begging for participation at another campaign...  Roll Eyes Tongue Cheesy
I updated the sheet, please send us the BTC address.

Thank you, my beloved Angel!

83  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: do i sell my altcoins now? which is good or just hold. on: November 29, 2017, 01:39:00 PM
I hold some different cheap coins now in coins markets exchange just worth of 0.02btc in total.
Should i sell it now or just hold since bitcoin now continuously moving up.
Which better I do.

If you're holding Ethereum, Litecoin or other reasonable+ coins, just hold.
If you're holding bad coins, like Bitconnect, you should sell them IMMEDIATELY! If you hold awful coins, you're gonna a lot'a money.

It really depends on what coins you're holding... And then it depends on whether you think they're gonna rise, drop or stay stable.

Please remember that we can give you advice, but that it's your decision that finalizes your trades and thus I or any other whose advice you follow is not responsible for any losses of money or opportunity.

BTT forums in a nutshell.

In fact, it was pretty obvious that something like this would happen (it always happens).

OP, can you lock this thread so we don't get every fucking newbie member coming here and shitposting?  You got your answer, and it should be clear to anyone here how to get that userID #.  Thank you.
A few hours later: 21 new replies.

I know right... Post Farming is getting insane on Bitcointalk. I've been inactive for some time, but I don't remember there being so much of this post farming a couple months ago?

I mean... There was some, but it wasn't really a plague. This is just insane.

I hope it gets reduced one way or the other soon too... Would be nice to have some cleaners around here.

85  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Education for trading crypto currencies on: November 29, 2017, 01:05:20 PM
1.  Does the same TA for stocks apply for crypto trading?

No. Although some claim that Technical Analysis can help you make reasonably accurate predictions about the future price movements of a cryptocurrency, I don't believe in it. The cryptocurrency market can be traded upon by luck, listening to what your feelings tell you and researching the coin & its community.

2.  Can you recommend me a few best books for TA crypto trading, the bootcamp I took was 5 years ago, so I have forgotten a lot of what I learnt.

I don't know of any and if there are any, I recommend you not to waste your money on them. It's not going to yield you anything useful. It will take a lot of effort to learn it correctly, cost money to buy the book, takes a lot of time and will probably not yield you much more than just trading cryptocurrencies the way they are meant to be traded: By research and redoing.

3.   Can you recommend me some websites related to crypto currency trading? I would like to follow other people signals and analyze them.

There are some reasonable traders at steemit.com . I recommend you to follow the ones you think are pretty decent.
I don't follow any, but I just recommend checking out some tags like crypto, cryptocurrency, trading, bitcoin and more to find some good analysers.
As I said earlier, I don't do these kinds of things and I can't guarantee you any profits.

4. Is there an exchange with demo accounts to try first?

Not that I know of, but I tried "imaginary" trading a while ago. What is that? It's easy:

You create a google document.
You give yourself a certain balance and put that somewhere in the doc.
Then you start imaginary trading. Find a good exchange to buy/sell your cryptos on.

Note down the details of each trade, at both the selling and buying: Price/Coin, Amount of Coins bought/sold, Total Price, time and anything else you think is worth it to add.

I did it too and I figured out: Trading is not my thing.

87  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If Bitcoin stops........ on: November 29, 2017, 09:23:31 AM
What if bitcoin stops? What will gonna happen to the members of this group? What will happen to their investments? Is this forever? How to support this group in order not to stop...?

Bitcoin might stop, but Blockchain-technology is here to stay. Of course, this forum is called "Bitcointalk", but it's used for altcoin discussions too.
And although I believe Bitcoin can start crumbling apart sometime in the coming years, it's not the end of the world for this community.
If you ask any of the Bitcointalk users, you'll see that most don't only hold Bitcoin. If Bitcoin sinks to $0, but other cryptos stay alive, most of us won't simply turn into poor street salesmen.

If Bitcoin "stops", which is of course very vague, but not impossible, other cryptocurrencies will take its place.
And then Bitcointalk will start focusing on those cryptocurrencies that took the lead. The marketplace will turn into an Altcoin market instead of Bitcoin market. Account Sales will go on. ICOs will go on.

"If one person falls from the stairs, does it mean we all should?"

I believe the answer is a solid "no", but I recommend you to think about it for yourself too and not listen blindly to us  Smiley

89  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: With the latest ATH's, what would you invest in with $2,000 USD on: November 28, 2017, 04:30:29 PM
For a long term investment of $2,000, what would you look at given today's market and milestones? Bitcoin? Litecoin? Ethereum?

Litecoin.

Although Bitcoin is making some steady growth out there, Litecoin is truly superior to it. Multiple Bitcoin-focused companies also started to accept Litecoin, besides the standard of Bitcoin only.
Litecoin is much faster, cheaper and has a far bigger growth potential. Litecoin is definitely my number 1 choice.

My number 2 would be Ethereum. Ethereum has a lot of potential, as there are a whole ton of ICOs being built on it. It's not going to fall any time soon, but I feel like Ethereum is more of a "stability coin" than a coin we should invest in, to make profit.

Bitcoin is another nice coin... It's going to stay worth a lot of money. Why? Because even when everyone realizes there are coins that are far more advanced than Bitcoin, people want Bitcoins, just because it's the original.
If Blockchain technology succeeds and I expect it will, as it has a lot of uses, Bitcoin will become a collector's item. Owning a Bitcoin would become very valuable.

As you see: I would take Litecoin. Smiley

90  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: trading vs holding on: November 28, 2017, 04:17:58 PM
Under what circumstances is trading preferred over holding?
Btc reaching 10k$ way before new year is a big shock, your opinions would be very helpful.

Hodl'ing if you:
-Like being lazy
-Don't want to spend a lot of time researching and trading
-Just want some easy profits
-Are unskilled in trading
-Have a small budget

Trading if you:
-Like being active in the cryptoworld
-Don't mind spending a lot of time researching and trading
-Like working for your money
-Are skilled in trading
-Have a large budget

Note that a large budget is preferred for hodl'ing as well, but if you trade with a very low budget, you're probably not gonna make a lot of money. Whilst you have made a lot of money if you just HODL'd Bitcoin from the start with just $10, you probably wouldn't be a millionaire now if you traded that $10.
91  Economy / Auctions / Re: Signature space for rent :: Legendary user :: 80+ quality posts a month on: November 28, 2017, 04:06:40 PM
My signature space is open for auction.

My account has high Trust, check my posts for quality and dispersion through sub-forums, you will be more than satisfied.

Auction rules are:
- starting bid is 0.03 BTC/month
- bid increase is 0.005 BTC
- no scams, no NSFW content.
- If you win the auction, your content would be in the signature for a month starting the day you make a payment to an escrow of your choice from the Bitcointalk Escrows list: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=855778.0. Payment must be max three days after auction ends, and stays in escrow until the arrangement is over.
- only Members+ accounts can bid, or accounts that already run some other signature campaign. All other bids will be invalid.
- bidding is open for one week, until December 1st, 23:59:59 UTC.

Happy bidding!

I feel like you're asking a bit too much... You're asking $300, just for some posts in a mega discussion thread, made by a red-tagged free-to-play user.

Try lowering the price a bit... I'm sure you will get some customers then! :-)
92  Economy / Services / Re: [BOUNTY][ICO][Signature] 🔥💥 Angel Token ICO 🔥💥 up to $150/week in BTC on: November 28, 2017, 03:44:55 PM
Hi guys! With the ICO now live, we are full and will only be accepting new participants here and there, as others leave from the campaign.

Thank you!

This Wednesday we are making the payments to the week that just ended (and retroactive posts, if there are any).

A few participants wrote to us privately about a change of payment addresses, unfortunately this won't be possible.

Hey AngelSupport!

I understand that it's full, but as you said "we are full and will only be accepting new participants here and there, as others leave from the campaign." -> Bolded text only: "We will be accepting new participants, as others leave the campaign".

I love that attitude! And you know what I love even more? A campaign participant who doesn't follow the rules, potentially allowing me to join the campaign!
And... I found one! In the Full Member list, number 402, ( name: 949miner and profile link: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=218267 ) carries the wrong signature. He carries a signature for an other Bounty Campaign (BitLogic).

I thought that if I'd ask kindly, I could take his spot... So here we go: "Can I take 949miner's spot? Please?"

Thanks a lot for your understanding & efforts to make this campaign great again!

PS: I applied a one/two pages back. But you said it was full, but I have a good reason to still be able to join!  Wink

We'll have a look, thank you. We will update the spreadsheet later today but seeing the attention to details and your willingness to participate in this Campaign, I have no choice but to approve you.  Wink

Please note that some categories won't count, I see that you have a few posts in those. I trust you'll post in the bigger ones.

Thank you!

Sure, my Angelic friend. Thanks a lot for your consideration  Cheesy

I will definitely try posting in the other categories some more. I've been inactive on Bitcointalk for a while and saw that most categories consisted out of huge spam threads.
Still trying to figure out what are the categories the most posts I like are in. I'm trying to avoid the large spam threads, which gets hard at some point.

Thanks a lot for your response and attention  Kiss
93  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin bubble will burst but blockchain technology will be useful, says private on: November 28, 2017, 03:01:53 PM
The bitcoin cryptocurrency is a bubble which will burst, but the underlying blockchain technology will have some useful applications, according to a director at Harbourvest Private Equity (HVPE).

Speaking on investment megatrends this morning, Richard Hickman – director of investment and operations at the £995m London-listed HVPE trust – said he believed bitcoin was one of the most over-hyped investment themes of recent years.

Pete Wilson, managing director at the Harbourvest firm which invests HVPE's and institutional investors' money in private equity funds around the world, added that the firm had little exposure to cryptocurrency. Harbourvest has previously indirectly invested in businesses such as Deliveroo, Airbnb, Dr Dre's Beats headphones and Snapchat.

Agreed. Bitcoin is overhyped and the hype will be over sometime in the future. The problem is that no one knows when that is and thus no one knows for how long we will be able to profit from this hype. Maybe it'll make us all millionaires... Probably not.

Bitcoin is going to stay reasonably popular for a while though, as Blockchain technology is going to stay and everyone will want to have their hands on the original... Bitcoin will probably turn into a collector's item.

I feel like all of Bitcoin's uses will be taken over by a more advanced cryptocurrency. Paying for your diner in restaurants, buying stuff in shops, etc.. All possible with Bitcoin, as long as the retailer accepts it, but currently, it's just not as practical as paying with your credit card or with cash.
Therefore, I think a more advanced cryptocurrency will soon start to show up in our daily lives and revolutionize the world we live in.

Please do not trust any page that says you will double your money.

Here I put my transaction and the worst thing is that as I did not do another one with the stupid illusion that my money would be doubled.

In this movement I made my first deposit, eye on the wallet ...

The intention of this post is that fewer people like me fall into this.

I share the wallet of these scammers and can see how people like me keep falling into the trap ...

Good luck and if someone wants to donate to support me to recover, my wallet is:

Really? That's just INSANELY stupid and you shouldn't be given anything. Sorry if you take this as "rude" or an "insult", but if you get scammed by that, it's ENTIRELY your own fault.

I find it pretty noobish to start begging for money then.
Why the hell would anyone give any money at all to someone who still, in 2017 (ALMOST 2018!!!!) gets scammed by ponzi schemes?

If it was 1995, I might be able to understand it... But it's 2017... How... Just... How?
95  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin bubble fears grow as virtual currency surges toward $10,000 on: November 28, 2017, 02:48:37 PM
Bitcoin soared to fresh records Tuesday, putting it on course for $10,000, but the virtual currency’s stratospheric rise has fueled fears of a bubble after a 10-fold increase this year.

The cryptocurrency, launched in 2009 as a bit of encrypted software written by someone using the Japanese-sounding name Satoshi Nakamoto, has had a roller-coaster ride that has taken it from just a few U.S. cents to its current sky-high valuation.

Traded on specialist platforms, with no legal exchange rate and no central bank backing it, Bitcoin is monitored and regulated by its community of users, and is used to buy everything from pizza to a pint in a London pub.

But it has attracted widespread criticism, from financial industry titans to governments.

JP Morgan Chase boss Jamie Dimon in September slammed the unit as a “fraud” and said he would fire his employees if they were caught trading it, while China has shut down Bitcoin trading platforms and South Korea’s prime minister Tuesday voiced fears it could lead the young to get involved in fraudulent crime.

Still, the opposition has not stopped a dizzying surge in bitcoin this year, with its value jumping a 2017 low of $752 in mid-January to a record high above $9,895 Tuesday afternoon. Its value has rise about 45 percent in the past two weeks alone.

It's in some sort of a bubble, but not at all like the tulip mania in The Netherlands, a couple centuries ago. This bubble has some sort of a piece of value behind it. It's because we're able to use ti for transactions, etc.. Just like we'd use the dollar. And is the dollar in a bubble? I don't think so.
Bitcoin's true value is probably below its current value of $10k, but it's definitely not an insane bubble.
I feel like it will collapse sometime in the future, but as it gets more and more accepted, its "collapse cap" keeps increasing. It's a bit over-hyped, but it's not going to drop 90% anytime soon.

All we can do is speculate though  Undecided
96  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: what have you got from bitcoin? on: November 28, 2017, 01:45:34 PM
what have you got from bitcoin?

-Money
-Knowledge
-Income

Those 3 things are key to my success.

Bitcoin's growth made me money, as I have invested in it. Not a lot, as I invested only about $30 in it originally, but it's a great start.
Knowledge is a key to success. I have been gathering knowledge over the past couple of years and it's still growing! I'm still learning new things everyday, because of Bitcoin.
Signature Campaigns, Trading, Bounty Hunting and the cryptocurrency world itself, all possible due to Bitcoin.

That's what I got from Bitcoin.
97  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin could 'easily' reach $40,000, says man who predicted current high on: November 28, 2017, 01:41:47 PM
The world’s most valuable cryptocurrency bitcoin can quadruple in price from the current record high of $10,000 in the next 13 months, predicts former Fortress hedge fund manager Michael Novogratz. On Monday, the digital currency smashed the $10,000 mark on South Korea’s Bithumb, one of the world’s biggest exchanges for cryptocurrencies.

Bitcoin started the year at below $1,000 and has since jumped more than ten-fold. According to Novogratz, by the end of 2018 bitcoin’s rival ethereum “could be triple (from) where it is as well.”.

The investment guru claims that "probably over 20 percent" or "maybe even 30 percent" of his net worth is in cryptocurrencies, split roughly in half between bitcoin and ethereum. Novogratz expects that to increase by about six times to $2 trillion by the end of next year.

Demand from Asia, mostly from Japan and South Korea, has been the most significant contributor to bitcoin's gains since China halted all exchange-based crypto trading. Novogratz says that in contrast to oil and renewable energy products, companies cannot produce more bitcoin to meet demand since the digital currency's supply is limited to 21 million coins.

https://www.rt.com/business/411151-bitcoin-price-level-2018/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=RSS

The problem is that there are so many predictions that no one knows which to follow. Whilst he may have done a correct prediction now, he may just as well be wrong next time  Undecided
That is what people often get wrong. Obviously, no one is going to highlight what someone else says who got it wrong this time. He could've guessed this by dumb luck, making his current prediction worth nothing.

Anyways, I feel like it's going to hit $40,000 too. Easily. Just as the other bunch of crypto-fans wandering around this forum.

Hello,

Two days ago I had 8.2BTC stolen from my account on yobit.net. the account had activated the 2f and notices to my email when someone loguea and makes a withdrawl.

even so someone between two days ago, sold all my coins to BTC and made a withdrawl to a wallet which I have identified in blockchain explorer.

Does anyone know what else I can do? yobit's support service has not yet answered me and I do not understand how they can overcome all these security measures.

I can help you. I can give you psychological support. Although it's nonsense, there have been studies on psychology and it turned out that some people can function better after having talked to a profesional (like me)  Cheesy

So, if you want to lose some more money, but then to a legitimate business instead of a scam, try sending me some and start talking about it in a PM  Wink

100  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How Much Posts Do I Need Before I Can Upgrade on: November 27, 2017, 04:31:29 PM

Good Day ma'am/sir,

I just wanna ask a further explanation about the formula " min(time * 14, posts), As to my side. I don't actually get the point.
And about the being active in forum (staying logged in), I've been active for almost half day and my activity still haven't counted another points.

I also dare to ask for clarification.  "Staying logged in", does it mean, you need to stay login and be active in browsing/surfing the forum?

Thanks in advance.

Time in the formula isn't logged in time.

Time is the 14 day period in which you have posted.

If you post 14 times in the 14 day period your activity is going to be

time (1) x 14 = 14 (this number should be at least the numbers of your total post)

So for example in 1 14 day period you have posted 9 times.  The formula is

1 x 14 = 14 however total post = 9, so your activity will be 9.

TLDR: Activity depends on your post activity in every 14 day period.
what if you post 70 posts in 14 days period, what ll be your activities number?

what if you post 70 posts in 14 days period, what ll be your activities number?

Okay, so it works like this:

Activity can be upped by a maximum of 14 every 2-week-period, no matter how much you post.
This means that after 14 days, your activity will have grown by 14.

But... In the next 2-week period, you won't have to post anymore, as you'll have 56 posts that weren't used for activity yet.
Thus, you will get 14 activity points instantly when the next 2-week period starts, without even having to post.   Shocked

As you see, your activity will grow by only 14, whilst you've posted 70 times.
Yet the remaining posts will be used for activity as well, as you won't even have to post in the next 2-week period.  Cheesy

I hope that made it more clear!  Wink
