Creating a new coin should really be out of the question because it just becomes 'yet another alt coin'. However, re-branding is a definite option.

Let's see if there is any movement from the dev's by the end of this month - 1st April. At this time there are a few of us here and on chat that are preparing to take control.

I agree - we have the time to wait and see what happens on April 1st.

In the meantime... there is a new alt-coin promoting Coino.
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=529521.0

I guess its kinda my way of celebrating April 1st and all the other crap coins out there that never get anywhere.

But hey - the IPO only provides the option to buy PopcornCoin in Coino.  At the very least it will get a few more people thinking about Coino as we wait for the April 1st POP  Wink

Ha Ha.... I went out and got my 2 Wallets Buckets) last night Smiley

How is it going to be that when we have a motherfucking german kid that sits with 2million coino?

I am sure if we look hard enough we can find the rest of the Mr Men in here. We already have Mr Angry Smiley

Anyway, back to the issue.. Yes, you are absolutely correct. Having Mr Coino sitting on almost 2 million coins is not ideal, but I think we can live with that. If you feel this is too much of a risk for you then you need to find a coin you are comfortable with. Life isn't always fair and one way or another we all get shafted at some point.

Creating a new coin should really be out of the question because it just becomes 'yet another alt coin'. However, re-branding is a definite option. In the Coino Forum a user named Saad created a new look for Coin(O) some time back that never got adopted, again due to a lack of any interest from the dev's.
Originally I wasn't that taken with it, but to tell the truth it did grow on me and I do actually really like it now.

We can easily create a new road map with community consensus and backing. I was never convinced about the debit card but I do know we have a member whom has created a Coin(O) POS system so we could let him drive this forward with our support and at a less 'world dominating' pace.

We have enough people here and on coino chat that can take over the future development of the coin including any wallet re-branding etc. We also have a member whom has created a Coin(O) WebWallet. This requires finishing as far as design goes, but I believe it is functional and with OUR help we can get this finished as well.
We also have a member whom has previously accepted Coin(O) in his store. He is based in Canada and that isn't much use to the rest of us, but we can discuss with him the model he used and try to get this in other countries as well. Maybe not tomorrow or next week, but we can work on it as a community.
I am pretty sure that we can rouse enough enthusiasm in the community to spread the word as we begin to move forward.

Let's see if there is any movement from the dev's by the end of this month - 1st April. At this time there are a few of us here and on chat that are preparing to take control.
The reason I keep saying this is because up until then they have not failed to deliver on their road map. Even if they have been anal about engagement and it's almost certain that they have lost interest, probably because they realised some time ago that the promises on their road map was unrealistic.

The big issue for us is not really the 2 million coins the dev has, but rather the creation of the new domains for the new Coin(O) web site and creating meaningful content and setting realistic expectations etc.

Later we can look at tipper bots and other novelties but I think the first part will be deciding how is in, who is out and who is going to be responsible for what. Once we have a clear picture of this we can start to move forward. The price is unlikely to increase over night but if the new team can build up trust.

The one thing I will be fighting tooth and nail for is that we DO NOT get listed on ANY MORE exchanges. Big exchanges kill new coins.... We already have 2 exchanges for people to use and at this moment that is enough.

Community is also losing blood, many of them already left, and it is left to die sooner or later.
Best to sell now not to regret later for a few satoshi.

Haha, so instead of getting $5 bucks for your coin(O) now you will only get 50cents...

What is the point ? It will cost you NOTHING to hold it, even if you have to put them away for a while.
107  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [COINO] KGW ACTIVATED - WALLET UPDATE ▬► COINO -(O)- ◄▬ The fastest Coin on: March 20, 2014, 08:27:47 PM
Believe or not this coin will be 1-20 Satoshi range within a week. So why not sell now and buy later 100 times more maybe Wink
1-20 is range for really shits coins who got  1000 bilions to be realsed, the problem is we need 1000s+ people who gonna hold the coin to the price will raise.... SO we need that faking DEV to market and care abut the coin if theres no one interested in coin the futere plans doent matter ...
sori for my englando ..

I think the problem is more that we have 1000+ people who are holding the coin and the rest are loosing faith and selling for a bit under the current price and slowly causing the price to go down. The coin should be bought more and only sold for a valuable amount.
and how exactly does "buying more" happen if no one sells??

always laugh at this sort of thing...

the only way someone is able to buy, is if someone else sells.
the only way someone is able to sell, is if someone else buys.

crazy people Cheesy

If nobody sells and there are buy orders then it's value increases due to demand.
All the time there are large sell orders at low prices and with the current uncertainty around coin(O) the price will continue to drop.

Let it drop, because at this moment there are no redeeming features to Coin(O), there is nothing to do with it other than list it on a couple of small exchanges.

On the 1st of April, there are a few of us here how will make a decision as to what we are prepared to do i.e. take it over as a community driven coin.

For my part the Coin(O)Casino will be one way to make people WANT Coin(O). After the release we will give it a couple of weeks of live testing and then we will start to promote it to the wider gambling public.
For me, the Casino is NOT dependent on Coin(O) but I like this coin, so for the foreseeable future, it will be a Coin(O) ONLY casino. If you want to play, you own some.

There are lots of feature we will be adding over time such as a cashier to allow non coino(O) holders and Joe public to buy some. Much like RoBucks for any of you familiar with RoBlox (I have kids they love it)

ALL games in the Casino will be mobile friendly as well

So, I will say it again.... With or without support in this community, Coin(O)Casino will be launched. If I have to mine ALL the remaining coins on my own then so be it. If all the current pools go away, we will create our own. I am hoping poolers will keep his pool as I have found him to be the best pool owner this community has had.

As I said, we have discussed taking over Coin(O) development and what that would mean, this will not be a 5 minute come back as the support infrastructure will need to be built. We have the capability to maintain and update the code for the wallets and daemons, we certainly have the ability to do a better marketing job than the current dev's. What I will not support at this time is getting Coin(O) on to ANY MORE EXCHANGES other than the ones it is already on.

108  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [COINO] KGW ACTIVATED - WALLET UPDATE ▬► COINO -(O)- ◄▬ The fastest Coin on: March 20, 2014, 01:03:42 AM
so deep, so drama.. Cheesy every time rate low and low..
we just can look and hope for a miracle..
lets pray... ckckck

The miracle it needs is someone taking it as payment for something useful.  It is on enough exchanges already.

There isn't much room left before it hits 1 satoshi.  Once that happens, its a big problem for a come back.

An interesting article today:
http://www.cryptoscribe.com/market-trends/premature-multi-listing-destroys-new-coin-prices/

yes the article is true..
Cheesy
and now in crypto rush COINO just 380 satoshi..
https://cryptorush.in/index.php?p=trading&m=COINO&b=BTC
its to hard for comeback...

It's going to be hard for a comeback but it can be done.

I have said all along that we need infrastructure. I also said forget the debit cards and that I wasn't interested on getting coin(O) on more exchanges... But hey, who the f%*k am I anyway.

Most of you will know that I have been here on the Coin(O) forum, IRC and threads since day one.

There were several people with some good ideas to support and grow the eco-system for this coin early on, but sadly quite a few of those early supports seem to have lost faith and are no longer around.

The upside is that we do still have a few people hanging around capable of making something of Coin(O). The downside is the complete lack of interaction from the dev's over the last few weeks and the knowledge that they still hold in the region of 2 million coin(O).

So what can we, as the Coin(O) community, do about it:

Actually before I make any suggestions I would like to point out a couple of things :
1. Currently the dev's have not failed to deliver on the roadmap. At the end of this month that situation actually changes.

2. If it was not for the dev's we would not be here now. Coin(O) would not exist and we would all be looking at or mining other alt coins. Most of which will turn out to be shit but we would hope to get on board with the lucky few.

3. Rather than think about the dev's 2 million as a burden, just think of them as a large holder. Even if you do not believe they deserve this, it is fact that they have them and we are unlikely to get our hands on them until they decide to dump them. If you cannot accept this risk then you need to take a deep breath and walk away from Coin(O) now and find another coin to keep you busy.

Point 3 above will be the straw that broke the camels back for some as it is unlikely any other single holder will be able to acquire this sum, but 2 million out of 100 million still leaves a significant amount of coin(O)

So getting back to "what can we as a community do about it"

1. We just shut down the miners dump what we have and walk away.
2. We wait until the 1st April to see what happens. This is what I intend to do in the first instance. This will probably result in further drops to the Coin(O) value, but hey, it's not worth much at this moment anyway.
3. We take over the future development of Coin(O) as a community, forget the current roadmap and re-write our own. This is being discussed as an option after the end of this month.

Basically, we all have a choice to make, walk away, hope for the best or get involved.

If you are in the first category I expect some pretty upset and strongly worded posts from you. I would be nice if these were neither racists or completely full of expletives.

If you are within the other 2 categories it would be great if you could stop posting angry comments and maybe start posting some more positive or at least supportive comments and even try to get involved in discussions about where do we go from here.

Whatever your choice, mine will be to continue to have faith, make sure we have some core support remaining here and we continue to discuss who will be involved in a takeover and what that will look like. I will also NOT be voting on getting Coin(O) on to any more exchanges.

From my part, we still intend to launch the Coin(O)Casino at the end of this month.
109  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [COINO] KGW ACTIVATED - WALLET UPDATE ▬► COINO -(O)- ◄▬ The fastest Coin on: March 19, 2014, 05:08:58 AM
And if the dev abandoned this coin, he must part with the premine. Pass it on to the new dev or a formed steering committee for this coin.

Good luck with that.

The more likely scenario is we swallow the loss.
We know there are 2 million pre-mined coins and we factor in the fact that they will be dumped at some point in the future and that will drive down the price again for a short period.

The best scenario would be for the dev's to dump now while the price is low, sell to a big community holder or distribute the coins amongst the community somehow... Not sure how this would happen as trying to devise a fair method for this is always going to piss off a lot of people.

The main problem will be trusting any new dev to hold 2 million coin(O). They have to go into a wallet somewhere - so who owns that ?

My preference : Dump them now... Everybody gets a chance to buy a chunk of them cheep

As I said, if this does not happen we ALL need to be prepared for the scenario that they will be dumped at some point in the future, possible when the value has risen significantly. If we cannot accept this, then we may as well leave now.

If we take coin(O) forward without the current dev's we need to make it ABSOLUTELY clear and upfront to everybody staying with or joining Coin(O) in the future that this is a possibility and thus a risk.
Two million in the grand scale of things is a risk I would be willing to take.

Agree with that, the community like doge is pretty active, but I don't think it will stand last, because I couldn't see anything other than"interesting", and tbh, I think dogecoin is not interesting and funny at all, perhaps because of culture difference.
If I am dev, I just don't care how u guys say, and will just do it by my own, u don't support me?
Ok, we will see once the credit cards out. lol

But, I am not on the dev's side, I also doubt the truth like multi million behind.
Because the experience, impression that devs gave me was make sense as "multi million" company.

So just wait, until April 10 th perhaps

Maybe just wait until April 1st (April Fools Day - lets hope it's not Coin(O) Fools Day this year)
112  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [COINO] KGW ACTIVATED - WALLET UPDATE ▬► COINO -(O)- ◄▬ The fastest Coin on: March 17, 2014, 12:37:13 AM
I personally really don't care this dumping situation. Im willing to hold it for 1 -2 years. I think every Alt-Coins need at less 1-2 years to get real value, some will die, some will go to the moon. This time is so cheap, keep buying and holding. Who know what will happen in next year  Grin Grin

2 years was in the past for btc. Coins have gained momentum and the world of cryptos is changing so fast that 1 months means 1 year .

Many coins will come and many coins will go.

Some of the coins that succeed will go through teething problems and some will pivot away from the initial intent.

However, the one thing that will drive a coin to succeed is a dedicated and active community.
At this moment Coin(O) is in a bit of a down turn and a lot of angry / frustrated posts are driving people away, even some of the original active members have lost faith in the dev's.

My view at this moment is that the dev's haven't as yet actually failed to deliver on the roadmap. At the end of this month that may change though.
It would still be good for the dev's to pop in and make at least a couple of posts per day saying "hi" and assuring people they are still around. I understand the pressure of development and they don't have to provide a blow for blow account of what is going on, just a "hi, were still here with you and doing out best to meet out objectives". That would increase the confidence which is ebbing away slowly.

Only 2 more weeks and we will see with more certainty what decisions need to be made.

Hi, I relaunched my wallet coino after three weeks offline. Impossible to finish the synchronisation, someone can help please ?
After someone  it's wrote on wallet :
EXCEPTION :11DbException
Db::get:Not enough space

I took the wallet posted on first page, don't understand

What OS are you running your wallet on ?

We know how to fix this but it's different on each OS

Thx for answer, I use windows seven with cgminer

1. Stop Coino-qt.

2. Back up your wallet.dat file (copy to desktop - make sure you COPY and not create shortcut) that should be located here :

C:\Users\YourUserName\Appdata\Roaming\Coino (Vista and 7)
"AppData" and "Application data" are hidden by default.

Coino may also be Coino-qt (I run Linux and MAc so not sure)

3. Remove the existing Coino-qt application and folders (see above as this directory should also contain the DataBase)

4. Download or re-install the Windows coino-qt from the coino.org website or from the link on the first page of this thread.

5. Restart coino-qt and let the blockchain re-sync (This will take several hours and make sure you have enough disk space available for now and future growth, 20Gig would be a good bet over the life time)

6. Once the blockchain has synchronised,  stop coino-qt.

7. Copy the wallet.dat you backed up in step 2 back to the location shown

8. restart coino-qt and let any changes in the blockchain resync ( will take only a minute or so)

After this, all should be good.

I suggest you also take regular backups of your wallet.dat file incase of HD corruption. i.e. back it up to at least ONE OTHER drive and or USB stick

You are right community can take over the lead anytime, the only thing would be the premined... tbh i think there already some talk about this in the coinoforums.

The best way I can see to stop worrying about the premine is to make sure the community is holding more.  Can we confirm about how much the rest of us are holding?  If its far more than two million it isn't such a big deal.

There should be around 8 million coino in the world right now including the premine.  Does anyone here have a substantial amount that we can do some quick math on what the rest of us hold?

Well, actually the best way to stop worrying about the pre-mine would be for the dev's to quiet down the negative talk here and show some results. If they are sticking to the roadmap, as stated, I don't see any issues.
However, if they do decide to no longer want to be involved I hope they will ensure that at least a large part of the pre-mine goes to the community in giveaways and publicly state that they are stepping back and give the community a chance to take it over.

As I said, lets all calm down a bit, wait until the end of the month and then we can take stock of the situation

There is no evidence that there is an 8 million Euro per year company behind this.
Only counter-evidence: that they can't bribe exchanges, or get anything done by themselves.

Other coins have us beat to what was supposed to make us unique.   It's not simply a matter of us not meeting deadline, it's a matter of coins beating us to our own game

Anyone that thinks there's a thriving, dedicated community behind this that can do the work of an 8 million Euro per year company lol is being delusional.  One of the few threads with a good amount of responses on the Coino forum is a get rich quick thread.     Sad

I'm not dumping, but I don't blame anyone that does.

No there isn't.

There is a declaration but there is no evidence at all.

I would like to invite you to join the Coin(O) community and get behind this coin to see what we can do as a community. Forget the debit cards and everything else. We are what matters,

I would like to think the devs are behind us, and that what we do will drive coin(O) forward
