If a community forum was to be made, what subjects / topics would be needed?

For example, here on bitcoin talk
 click
It goes bitcoin discussion, development & technical discussion and so fourth..

Just curious.

We currently have an official forum hosted on our site which is almost 100% complete. They are just implementing anti-spam filters now and we will soon begin promoting the new meeting place!

Do you guys realize that the little power fight you are having right now is doing more harm than good to this coin you care about?? Why don't you realize that the more you'll be doing this the closer you'll bring this coin to his death. The second foundation was created to bring solutions to a sinking coin that we want to succeed. Why can't both foundation work on their side but still talk to each other to find the best way to put emc2 back on it's feet?. It looks like 12yrs old arguing. Nothing good for the coin.

Anyone is welcomed to bring solutions to help the coin. If you can't grow up and show some maturity, you'll be the reason why emc2 will die. You got 2 options. It can happen to disagree with others on a lot of things but right now we have to put this aside and work together.

So are we starting to work on the revival of emc2 or we let it die from internal fights?

Very much agreed, that's I'm trying get some clear facts and answers so we can move forward with real plans and strategy. We really need to decide on an algorithm switch and a new system for scientific donation, that is what is most important at this stage.

My views about their community effort changing its name is warranted from all the confusion I've been receiving. If it were up to me I would merge and market both entities as one. Otherwise there will be a separate route taken.

djnocide, to answer your question from the PM.. It would not be too difficult to change algorithms at this point. I will be setting up some kind of poling option soon to see where everyone stands. Personally, I'm split between x11, x13, and pure PoS. The other options will also be listed in the poll which I will post within the next hours when I get back home.

First off, my official mandated duty is oversee all things EMC2. As of right now, the value of EMC2 is too low to cash out on the markets and spend "money". I am however willing to offer bounties for new objectives which I though it what your board was supposed to be voting on. Where is your meeting place to become "elected"? Where do your discussions and voting take place? Also, being lead of the foundation and coin, I will mandate myself for official duties. What promises were made? Thanks Armis.

ahumanbeingx, is there any particular reason you didnt put yourself forward for a position on the board while the elections were still open?

Secondly, in view of the fact the value of EMC2 plummeted under the 'leadership' of the old foundation (of which you were a member), I'm curious as to how you being a member of the new foundation would be in the interests of EMC2 (ignoring the fact you hold some of the original pre-mine)?

#1. The "Elections" for ECAP or the new community foundation effort were never officially sponsored for the creators of EMC2. Also, the election process took place over a few days at a point that I was out travelling.

#2. The value plummeted because of big money holders cashing out due to the slander of ex-team member. Other members who felt closer with Science instead of cryptoGames decided not to keep playing along. I am now stepping up from an extremely minimal role in the coin to usher in some new changes, updates, and systems of donation. I've also began to boost the price on poloniex with small buy walls which is why the value has began to rise over the past week. I've now pulled that buy support to see what effect the community effort is having.

#3. There is no pre-mine.

I've just found you guys. Looking really good.

Thanks for your support! We've got some really exciting things on our plate right now and we're just waiting for confirmations before making some announcements.

Community, let's start hearing some new ideas on how we can donate to science without cashing out EMC2 on the exchanges. I'd like to make this a top priority so I can start looking for the talent to put a new system in place. Donating to science is the #1 reason to use EMC2.
107  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][EMC2] Einsteinium | Funding the future with the future of currency on: June 15, 2014, 02:23:55 PM
Armis, I still feel the name of the committee should change the name to be a bit less confusing for our supporters. That is primarily because "EMC2" IS Einsteinium and there is already the "Einsteinium Foundation". If you would like some suggestions on a new name for the community effort I could help out.

I agree.. they usually call that kind of group an Advisory board or something similar.

most governments around the world have Executive and Legislative branches.
most large companies have something similar, a Board of directors a Shareholder advocacy/activist group.

it seems like that is what we are aiming for here so lets make the naming clear and easy for people to understand.

Alphi  and ahumanbeingx

1) The EMC2 Foundation is a foundation created by the owners of EMC2 for the EMC2 investor community
2) The EMC2 Foundation has a duly elected board birthed from the community.  An election noticed to the community for participation.
3) The EMC2 Foundation reserves the right to name itself, if either of you want to head up a 'EMC2 renaming committee' you are invited to apply for chairmanship of that committee.   If you do, here's my suggestion for the new name, "The NEW Foundation"
4) The foundation names have nothing to do with the devaluation of EMC2 over the past two months, however the efforts of The EMC2 Foundation (aka The NEW Foundation) has put a halt to the nose dive.   https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=494708.msg7222101#msg7222101  Gone is the day of 68 sat EMC2, gone is the day of 80 sat high for the day, and gone is the day of .662 whole day volume.

Improving the value of EMC2 is what The EMC2 Foundation is primarily about, both of you are invited to play a critical role in the success of EMC2.

The NEW Foundation has assumed most of the heavy lifting tasks (preservation and increase of EMC2 value) of the old foundation, allowing the old foundation to focus its energies on the light lifting tasks of: automatic tax collecting, shopping for projects to fund, and spending money.   Sadly the old foundation is behind in shopping for projects and  spending money, but does have the time to critic names.

The EMC2 Foundation is days old with a record of success, we are identifying issues of major concern to the EMC2 community, we are prioritizing those concerns based on a core objective -- to strengthen EMC2's value, and we are doing the things necessary to achieve our objectives.

Again, I extend to both of you a personal invitation to play a pivotal role in the NEW successes that are forthcoming for EMC2.

The concerns are from the community which your group should be listening to. They are aware that emc2 is Einsteinium and the Einsteinium foundation is often referred to as 'the emc2 foundation'. That is where the confusion exists. I have no control over what your group calls itself, it's simply a concern from supporters that I'm making clear here on this forum. It's your choice to continue it or simply change to 'emc2 advisory board'.

Also, when you mention taxes and spending money, what are you referring to?

The EMC2 Foundation has a rather simple protocol for ALL issues of concern to the EMC2 community; the issue comes to the attention to an officer, board member, or relevant committee member, then depending on the issue it will be addressed appropriately.   As a board member of The EMC2 Foundation I have acknowledged your concern, and have invited you to consider chairing a committee to examine the merits of your concern so that it could be properly presented to the whole board for a fair hearing and a prompt vote.

Your concern was acknowledged on three separate occasions, you have before you a formula to finally resolve the matter.

As for "taxes" that is referring to the 2% fee imposed upon EMC2 miners to fund EMC2 projects.
As for "spending" that encompasses all of your presumptive duties relevant to the disbursement of funds collected via taxes and donations, specifically disbursements for  project awards and bounties.

Agreed, I feel a chair on the committee would be a good move considering my role with the coin as a whole. Whereabouts is your committee meeting place? If you would like we could create public thread on our new forum at Einsteinium.org to keep things out in the open.

In my view, I'd like to see your group as an official part of the Einsteinium / Emc2 foundation as our primary decision making and community outreach wing. Merging both entities would help clear the air and do wonders for marketing campaigns. That could also be voted on upon my appointment into the committee.

Let's make this happen.

ahumanbeingx, given what you have written it appears that you are confusing 'committee' and 'board', the invitation I extended earlier was very specific and within my powers to extend, please review previous post.

As I mentioned to you in a private message, I do not have the power to appoint people to the board, that only comes by election of the community as a whole.

As for merging orgs, there again I refer you to our protocol.

ahumanbeingx I don't know how it is that you let yourself get distracted with issues outside of your purview but your official mandated duty is to find projects to present, and to spend money.  How long are you going to put off what it is you promised to do?   It's time to present some projects and spend some money.

Where are the coins from the last 3 Epoch events?

The money has been collecting since Epoch 3 and is currently intact and now in my possession. As many of you know there was falling out from within the team at that time as well as the realization that are scientific donation strategy was somewhat broken. In order to pay our Epoch winners, we have to cashout of the 2% fund onto the trade markets which caused down pressure on our value.

We made the decision at that time to halt donations and collect the money for restructuring and future (bigger) donations. Well the time for restructuring is now and the money from the EMC fund has not been touched!

People, we need to create a new strategy for donating to science! That is what EMC2 is all about. I'm looking to hear your ideas on how we can increase value which in turn will cause our pool of coins to do more for scientific projects.

TRANSPARENCY:

EMC2 Donation Fund = 1612174.13131958 EMC2 (Every new block mined adds to this total).
Bounty Funds = 500000 EMC2 (Donated by Christine to get the ball rolling again)
My Wallet = 500000 EMC2 (I'm holding a quarter million until we see through to a new system of donation. The other quarter million will be used for tipping on IRC, Reddit, Twitter, and Facebook)

If anyone would like to donate extra coins to any fund, it will only help us gain steam quicker. Just get in contact with me directly for the addresses. Otherwise, let's hear some new ideas on how we can increase value and use the donation fund to do some big things in the name of science.

Why not creating a bounty for a new algo development? The most low consumption so far? For crypto world and SCIENCE! maybe a multi algo for gpu and cpu

No one mines Scrypt anymore. You've got ASICs, increased power costs and excess heat. I agree EMC2 should go X11 asap.

I mean an algo from scratch, a new one. And then a new wallet. And then some official support from scientific organizations...

If you want to see this matter handled correctly join the Development Committee at The EMC2 Foundation (not to be confused with The Einsteinium Foundation, I don't know the protocols there).

In a committee you can poll the community; research the merits and draw backs of both sides then present the findings, conclusions, and recommendations to the board for a vote.

The EMC2 Foundation was created by EMC2 owners to address issues of major concern to the EMC2 investor community.  Some of our actions are already improving things, stay tuned for our first EMC2 Board Report.

Armis, I still feel the name of the committee should change the name to be a bit less confusing for our supporters. That is primarily because "EMC2" IS Einsteinium and there is already the "Einsteinium Foundation". If you would like some suggestions on a new name for the community effort I could help out.

Also, we should begin voting on a new algorithm ASAP. This should be open vote to the community considering those are the ones who will be mining our coin. Other than that, I feel all voting from the community committee should also be transparent for the wider base of supporters.

Let me know what you think. Thanks!

Something like this could be implemented in the short term if we have 100% agreement from our supporters. I'll talk with Armis about setting up community poll for a new Algorithm and I'll make this a top priority. Thank you for the input.

Every alt-text popup possible gets cut off. Heres one of many examples.
https://www.dropbox.com/s/9un8tjd5p08durc/Alt-Text.png

The Send Coins tab has some glitches too. When choosing the format to display how much DCM is being sent, it acts kinda funky and doesnt display without you hovering over it. Then when you do, it stays highlighted.
When you hover over the amount, the background color for the form pulses (best word to describe it) between light blue and white.
If youre using the Coin Control feature, the "Inputs..." button doesnt really look like a button.

The Transactions drop downs do the same thing.

I understand the color and button changes are supposed to make it look sleep and appealing but i feel that it only makes it look messy. Like so.

Has anyone here seen the CommunityCoin wallet? Thats got to be the cleanest and best functioning wallet i have ever seen not counting the Bitcoin wallet. Especially the best i have seen for a POS wallet.
Id like to add this to my critique.

I think that the icon for newly mined coins should not be gray. The gray gives it an appearance like it is not confirmed yet, even though it is.

Also, however these estimates are made.. They need to be fixed.

Very good quality assurance sir! These have all been noted and passed on to Aszu as they are all primarily GUI code changes. Thanks again for the suggestions.

We appreciate the time you took to put together this list. Thanks!

I love the recent enthusiasm here! This thread is primarily all positive which is rare for a lot of altcoins.

BTW, I have control of the 2.5% mining fund and my wallet has been updating the total for the past 1.5 days. I'll post the total amount here when it's finished for transparency and we can figure how to best utilize the funds as a community.

Keep posting!

Armis, I love this concept but I feel the names being so similar could be a bit confusing to for the wider community. Having both the "EMC2 Foundation" and "Einsteinium Foundation" may cause people to wonder which one is which. Any thoughts?

ahumanbeingx if someone complains to me about the mining tax, the donations, or project updates I'll refer them to you.

If someone complains to you about EMC2 market value,  I would appreciate it if you referred them to me.

Sounds good my friend, it will be a pleasure working with you.

I've updated our Twitter and Facebook Like Page with links pointing back here as to inform our followers about the new community initiative.

Twitter: https://twitter.com/einsteiniumcoin
Facebook Like Page: https://www.facebook.com/einsteiniumfoundation
Facebook Group Page (over 600 members): https://www.facebook.com/groups/einsteiniumgroup/

There are plenty of new revitalization efforts in the works and this is only a small step. Updates to the btcTalk OP and website bug fixes are incoming.

I'm asking the community to please support us through social media if you hold accounts at any of the above websites. Also, we have a working facebook tipping app that can be used to receive and send tips to other members of the group. Thanks!

I wanted to chime in and let everyone know that I'm here and following all the latest happenings. There will soon be some new information on the marketing front which will use a small amount of the IPO funds. Everything spent will be documented and agreed upon before moving forward.

Speaking of which, I will be attending a consumer / business trade show at the end of July in San Francisco. What's your opinion on spending some IPO money on business cards and flyers to hand out at the event?

I've recently been handed the keys to the coins 2.5% mining fund, Website, BitcoinTalk account, Twitter, Facebook Page, Facebook Group and I am now ready to take a leading role in EMC2 as planned from within the team. I do agree there needs to be a new community effort to support the coin, and I respect what ECAP plans to do.

Please keep in mind, "Armis" is the leader of ECAP and not Einsteinium. That remains the reality unless someone reaches out to the remaining devs of EMC2 which are Christine, Lucas, and myself for needed changes brought on by the community.

Thank you.

Allow me to clarify some things.

The Einsteinium Community Action Plan (ECAP) was authored and proposed (to the community) by me, the initiative failed to receive the necessary level of community support which is why today it is more of a footnote than anything else.

The EMC2 Foundation is a community based organization created by and for EMC2 owners.   The election if its board was publicly announced and open to all EMC2 owners.  The priority of the EMC2 Foundation is to make EMC2 a financially strong coin; additionally to pave a way so that it could remain healthy for a long while.

ECAP is not the EMC2 Foundation, ECAP is a community initiative that failed to win necessary support to survive, whereas The EMC2 Foundation received the community support it needed to succeed.

Perhaps more importantly, The EMC2 Foundation is not The Einsteinium Foundation, as I see it the EMC2 foundation advocates for the EMC2 investor, the Einsteinium Foundation advocates for the projects.    Nevertheless, the two foundations are working for the same coin.  Cobra sees it as two sides of the same coin, the projects foundation on the front end, and the investor foundation on the back end.

Every EMC2 owner is a member of the EMC2 foundation and has the right to vote in all community-wide initiatives including, but not limited to, board member elections.

Absolutely every EMC2 owner is encouraged to help EMC2 via the EMC2 foundation, presently 7 standing committees.  We are seeking committee members and individuals to chair some of the committees.  Here is the list:

1) Bylaws - create the bylaws for the org
2) Communications - involving very many levels of communications from blogs, articles, youtube projects, to Radio and TV interviews,
3) Development - including all of the coin specifications as actual subjects.
4) Elections - work with bylaw committee to create org law for elections, then to manage all elections,
5) Finance - draft weekly EMC2 valuation report,  provide oversight for The Einsteinium Foundation regarding trust funds
6) Liaison - team that specifically is constructed to liaison with other orgs that we have a special relationship with beit The Einsteinium Foundation, a school, or another CC
Cool Mining - all things mining.

Details of each committee will be presented to the community by the respective committee chairman upon appointment.   If you are interested in chairing a committee or being a member of a specific committee send me a message.

Armis, I love this concept but I feel the names being so similar could be a bit confusing to for the wider community. Having both the "EMC2 Foundation" and "Einsteinium Foundation" may cause people to wonder which one is which. Any thoughts?

As the open nomination period is over [...]
Since only one nomination was made per seat and officer position, we don't need elections.
Well with a nomination period of ~2 days, during a week end, don't be surprised of not getting enough candidates to do a proper election.
Maybe I'm the only one not following this topic every hour, but this don't especially sounds like a democracy to me.
Maybe you should extend the "nomination" period a little?

This is simply for the community portion of the coin which Armis is spearheading. He may hold a more thorough election process after first stages of community evolution.
