Think those new 96 core threadrippers pro workstations with 8 channel ddr5 2TB ram could handle it? Grin the ram is ECC too No it can't. Period. There are no 'complex equations' or patterns to solve therefore applying possible mathematical shortcuts is not possible because there are none. What part of 'random' do you folks not get?

I will buy tBTC do you have any to sell?
Given that it is easy to mine and that its purpose for testing, it is not supposed to have value, and if people continue to buy it to get an airdrop, Testnet3 will be reset with a different genesis block.Do not put your money into buying Testnet3 or keeping it long-term. Of course even though tBTC has no real value there are still idjits out there who will buy & sell it. When it gets bad enough with them doing it there be another reset making their stash unusable. They deserve to lose their money from doing it.

Actually this entire area is for Bitcoin only. ANY other coin is an altcoin. DODGE is an altcoin and questions related to it should be posted in the altcoin mining areas here.Requesting mods to move it there.

Testnet3 was introduced to avoid the problem of high difficulty and limited supply would increase that difficulty. Testnet coin versions are also periodically changed when too many people mine & hold them and even worse - sell them to idjits who think they have some sort of value. Each new version make the older ones unusable. As has been said earlier it only takes a small amount of tBTC to test software and in most cases once your testing is done you are supposed to return the tBTC to the sources you got it from which makes limits a moot point.

Do have a question to Kano, If i'm running a latency check it seems that your pool is based not in Europe so it's giving me a latency of 155ms, do you have a Europe based pool also?
Um, Kano has a thread covering things regarding the pool... If you look at the 1st post you will see the list of all the worldwide nodes he runs for it. There are 2 for europe - one in Germany and one in the Netherlands. BTW: 155ms latency is *not* bad. Not great either but not bad.

Either way, I continue to believe that the solution is for miner manufacturers to improve their efficiency. Honestly, I think there has been little progress in this regard in the last 4/5 years. Bullshit. Only a few years ago eff was 30-40w/T, now is less than 20w/T That is hardly 'little' progress. Miner efficiency is fixed by the chip node size used and that is already at the bleeding edge.

@OP Sorry to say that yes it looks like it was a scam. The lesson that you have hopefully learned is that you NEVER EVER invest more than you are comfortable with losing. Does not matter if it is government issued bonds, stocks or as in this case, crypto, the same rule applies.

@BizMax - the A920 does not run FMS. It uses a modified cgminer same as the A6xx-A8xx did. @OP - 115 deg is WAY too hot. I ran A921's and yes while they do run hotter than most miners, 115 is really pushing them. I played with Vcore and speed to keep them below 100. ref https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5085231.msg48770866#msg48770866 and the posts around there for settings to play with.

BTU: 10000 (according to @philipma1957, still need to confirm the value of 3.41. No idea where it comes from)
It comes from being the equation determined in the early 1800's for converting watts to BTU... Just Google it, "convert watts to BTU"... BTU is the standard unit used to measure energy needed to produce a temperature change. You will find that all fuels have a spec of how many BTU per-unit of volume or weight it produces when burned. The other common unit of energy is the Calorie though that is more for chemical reactions and not heating/cooling.

More on refilling in a bit. Remember the pumps cannot prime themselves so there can't be air bubbles in the water system. Quite true but nonetheless the system MUST have a small amount of air in it to allow for thermal expansion as the fluid gets hot. On the Intel liquid CPU cooler (a sealed system much like the BFL setup) that I use on my Render Beast the radiator is about 7/8 maybe 9/10 full and I'd guess the same should hold true for the BFL coolers. The radiator should be mounted so its outlet going to the pump inlet is on the bottom and fluid return on top so that air pocket is not circulated through the system.

Unless you are running small USB stick miner just leave suggested diff alone. The pool and miners work together to quickly assign the best value. The diff target is aimed at the pool & miner working at 18 shares per-minute.

Looking for suggestions on BTC Mining tax software. Does anyone have experience in this space? Looking for suggestions. Thanks! I'm confused why anyone would need specific software for this? Bitcoin mining has to be one of the most basic and simplest business models out there!? Mainly to track BTC going in & out of your wallets/accounts so you can establish a Cost Basis used to determine the Capital Gains tax due. eg you bought coins at X price and sold/spent some at Y price. If Y is larger than X you owe tax on it = to the Gain in value. Conversely if Y is lower than X you get a tax credit for the Loss in value. When coins are obtained by mining is where things get more complicated, for them your Cost Basis would be what it cost you to mine them and what their value was when mined. Assuming you are setup as a business then things like your electric bill, building expenses, cost of the miners, etc. are all business expenses that can be written off. Thing is, any decent exchange will let you download your complete Tx history as a .cvs file that ya can import into a spreadsheet and do the same thing with just a little effort...

Riiiiggghhhtttt... Once again everything old is new again. The idea was proven to work decades ago.
The technology required aside, one big issue with it is this: With many folks already (wrongly) raising hell about about the low power RF emissions from cell towers, what makes the researchers think that beaming megawatts of RF energy down to Earth from space is a good, safe idea and that it would be accepted by the public?
I will fuckinguarantee it won't be and in this case the rabble rousers would be right.

The simplest way to see in real time what the buy/sell amounts available and their pricing is to just use a site like https://bitcoinity.org/markets/coinbase/USDPick your local currency and exchange, in this case Coinbase and USD, and it is all displayed...

Lose the "according to <random utube video>" and learn how Bitcoin works... The is no 'according to', it is straight math.
On average a block is found every 10 min meaning (on average) 144 blocks per-day are found. Current reward is 6.25BTC so yes that is 900 new BTC per-day being minted. In April the Reward drops to 3.125BTC making a daily total of 450BTC per day so no new news here... Note that fees attached to the block reward are not included in the calculation. Why? Because the fees are paid using already minted coin.
As for 'demand exceeds supply', um, that is where the perceived value of BTC or for that matter, any currency or other thing of value, comes from... Even now, the supply is just fine. At it's current exchange rates there are few things I can or would care to buy that costs more than a small fraction of what 1BTC is worth...

Since I'm not sure exactly how this works on a technical level right now (might have slipped my memory): is the mining software / firmware used communicated through Stratum v2 and / or could it be spoofed? How do you make sure that someone pointing hashpower to your pool is running a tested / 'known working' software stack? ... Kano has made his opinion of Stratum v2 well known and safe to say it will be a mighty cold day in hell before he uses it. As for how he determines if the miner is running a hacked version of cgminer (which are quickly kicked off) vs accepted OEM, Braiins, BFGminer or Bitfury firmware - trade secret...

So odd thing happening at the moment. Came home to find the green light of the front flashing and hashrate steadily decreasing. SSh into it and its responding very slowly. A good minute to got the login screen, then another minute or so to get passed it. I've restarted the hub and will see how it goes.
Post about it in the Gekko channel on Kano's discord site. Sidehack hangs out quite a bit there as does the guy Sidehack worked with for the Smarthub.
