Ok ppl... IT IS that simple: 1. Its better to mine darkcoin than mining litecoin. 1.1 Miners can use nvidia. 1.2 Lower amortization. 1.2.1 Longer live for the hardware = more stable decisions made by the mining community(the full-of-gpu-basement boys and girls  ). 1.2.2 If someone invest money for engineering asic (algorithm and/or chip) mining x11 there is 100%(from my point of view) chance that darkcoin devs will avoid this ASAP. I hope we see x12 one day avoid engineering that cost millions. 1.3 Lower power consumption. 1.3.1 Lower importance of miner nationality - there are very big differences in power cost across the world. 2. If some hardware whale decide to join the mining party - the Moore's Law will hit the difficulty/price higher. 3. If some hardware whale decide to leave the mining party - the price will need to drop but not so much (as long i can see now miners attention is attracted already: hashpower>80gh, yesterday >120gh). One sentence - If the price goes higher the hash will follow - 100%.... its summer now right ? 3.1 If litecoin network hashrate NOW drop to 50gh it will never turn back. The litecoin devs, the dogecoin devs think asic=immortality (i dont think this can be true). There is no development out there. No improvement. The community people dont have asic farms. They have gpu's. But every dev is waiting to meet the immortality - to tie the miner to his coin, his laziness, his laws. Dogecoin adaptation agains multipools working only on low diff blocks was too late. Check the time that last halving took and check the previous halving. 4. ASIC=RISK. 5. GPU=hardware. 6. Imagine nvidia throws 30mil on cryptsy wall or mintpall wall NOW. Like that .. just for fun... imagine 300m(yes, there is hash(ready and waiting) that can follow even 300m) ? I know they can count well and 2222222/(((Difficulty+2600)/9)^2) is the thing that can make them smile on the annual financial meetings. What about Intel .. Thanks for the link, so its a fully anon coin now.....wow the implications....good bye DRK  The developer of this clone coin is being cheered for developing the first anonymous X11 coin with POS and having a long track record of supporting his coin  Anyone know what kind of anonymous implementation this coin is bringing out? Supposedly the dev has a linkedIn profile too although I am yet to find it. I think any altcoin is by design impossible to take off because so many people have agendas now. |

Wow altcoins are a mess right now. So many coins talking about implementing anonymous transactions. Coins getting 400% price pumps just on the rumour that they will be able to do what DarkSend already does. DRK trolls everywhere. It's all pretty ugly.

Due to the fact that we have often hard forks... which is good cause it evolves the coin furter, what is critical for its success imo... i would like to suggest to think about the possibility to have a wallet that could make an "auto-update". Im non technical so i can not think of details here ... but for the most people including me it would be much easier to follow the development of the coin without having to care about the right version of the wallet. Making updates all the time etc. If you see that BTC or LTC are kind of stucked because they can not make any more hard forks because of the huge user base and the chaos that would produce among them... I think this could be a solid advantage over other coins and it would secure the possibility of fast and radical evolutions and development of DRK that as i sad is one key for the success... what do you think?
Auto updates are too dangerous. Imagine if anyone gets control of the update software. They could easily put a trojan in the program and literally control thousands of computers and exchanges in a matter of seconds.
Auto updating compromises the security of the coin. The developer or someone else who manages to get control of the update system could push out an update that will do something no one wants. With the manual system, if the wallet holders don't agree with the changes, the developer can't force a hard fork. ok i understand... i would like to encourage you to think harder about a possibility to make this happen. Cause this could be a very important point given a big non technical user base and given the need of permanent evolution at the same time... I would go so far to say this will be one of the key abbilities the coin of the future need to have. For now it could be enough to simply have a little sign in the wallet that says "There is a new version available" and this should be a link to this version... How about that? But this is no solution for the longer sight... Believe me there are millions and millions of people who can not find the "xxx" folder backup there wallet delete everything, find the old programm and uninstall it, install the "new".exe, start programm let it sync delete new wallet.dat and move the old wallet.dat in place again... this is ridiculous there need to be a more automatic and smooth way. Most people won't run the Qt wallet once others become available. Look at Bitcoin, there are dozens of different wallets available across desktop, phone and the web. |

Hello, I am a film music composer, but also a huge fan of crypto-currencies and especially DarkCoin. DarkCoin has inspired me to compose a DarkCoin Anthem and the music was already performed by a huge 100 musicians symphonic orchestra for me. The music theme is really great and will motivate all people who invested in DRK and also their friends once they hear the anthem. My prediction: DRK will go to lower than 0.018 today. Prepare your BTC to buy, friends. It will be a great time to get DRK cheaply. As far as those who mention catching a falling knife. I've been involved in about a dozen of these pumps-and-dumps including DRK in earlier cases. Each one says the same thing: "This coin is different.This coin has great fundamentals. This coin has a great active development staff." Then the coin gets pumped and dumped and you have so many bagholders. But DRK seems different to me. It seems as though whenever a whale sells a lot there is an even bigger whale there to support the price. Yeah I got 66 DRK stuck on there and I wanna go to bed!  Also heard people talking about TIPS being anonymous on the other pages. All that does is, have to speak to devs to run a node, and an anon transaction is just 2 servers on Tor in different locations, and your transaction goes through them 2 nodes with a random timer between them before reaching the destination. Nothing like we have here. Withdrawals are not affected. I did one 10mins ago, and it was the fastest one I have ever received from them. |
