103  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Greece Ready to Use Bitcoin If No Deal on: April 01, 2015, 02:24:27 PM
Sources very closed to Greece’s minister of finance told Greek Reporter that today Yanis Varoufakis held a top secret meeting with high-ranking finance ministry officials to prepare them in case negotiations at the upcoming Eurogroup fail. The anonymous source noted that everybody in the room was staring at each other when Varoufakis – also a prominent blogger – said “We ‘ll go to Bitcoin, we will be ahead of all the world economies and although it may be painful in the beginning, Greece’s economy will thrive in the long term.”
Boom

110  Economy / Speculation / Re: Any possibility that these heists will work in our favor? on: March 20, 2015, 12:27:32 AM
Nothing good comes from these heists... My concern is that a large % of these victims drop out of the game.
The sad part is that as a community we have not done nearly enough to educate new investors on best practices... it's just scattered bits of info requiring too much effort.
111  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2015-03-17] AllCrypt Bitcoin Exchange Hacked, Over 40 BTC In Funds Stolen on: March 17, 2015, 07:17:52 PM
And folks continue to sign up with fly by night exchanges... If you must use an exchange use the ones that have a proven reputation... preferably with insurance protection.

115  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Could the Federal Reserve Issue Their Own Cryptocurrency? on: March 11, 2015, 02:44:59 AM
Absolutely they can... would the majority accept?... Yes they would because they have the power to regulate the shit out of bitcoin and they have ridiculous money to invest in promoting it.
We have been dumb enough to let the rich 1% to run congress... why wouldn't we (as a population) just lay down and support the corrupt?
At some point there needs to be enough people willing to give the effort to resistance & educate public opinion.
116  Bitcoin / Press / 2015-03-10 WSJ - Secretive Bitcoin Startup 21 Reveals Record Funds, Hints at Mas on: March 10, 2015, 02:04:47 PM
Now, that company, which bears the name 21 Inc., is emerging from stealth to announce it has raised $116 million in venture funding, the most ever by a startup in the digital-currency sector, based on data from bitcoin news service Coindesk.

What it’s not yet publicizing is the precise nature of its operations, Chief Executive and co-founder Matthew Pauker will only say there will be “several interesting developments over the next weeks and months” about software and hardware products designed “to drive mainstream adoption of bitcoin.”
