101  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: WTS: (2) ATI 5970 on: May 03, 2012, 04:05:11 PM
Are these still available?
102  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: WTS: (2) ATI 5970 on: May 01, 2012, 09:25:41 PM
Dammit, $325 is a REALLY good price for these.  Too bad I just paid rent and I don't have the money to spend at the moment Sad
103  Economy / Lending / Re: Wanted: Another 12 BTC loan on: May 01, 2012, 04:19:54 PM
I'm curious now.  If Ean was so quick to loan you 12 BTC before, which you promptly returned with a healthy amount of interest, why isn't he jumping to loan you again?  After all, it's easy money and the funds are there according to the payback address you provided in the previous thread. Just wondering.
104  Economy / Goods / Re: [WTS] Spearco Water Injection kit on: March 22, 2012, 05:36:02 PM
Yes, it's a universal kit (though it's probably unnecessary if you don't have high compression or forced induction).  Basically you pick a spot to locate it and run some wires to power the motor, and vacuum lines to your intake, and some water lines to spray back into the intake.  Here's what all you'll need in addition:

- Extra wire to power the electric water pump (it comes with short wires, as pictured, but you'll probably want some to pick up some extra wire so you can mount it where you want)
- Vacuum lines to both sense manifold pressure and to supply water to the intake.
- Atomizer nozzle
105  Economy / Goods / [WTS] Spearco Water Injection kit on: March 22, 2012, 04:45:11 PM
I bought this Spearco Water Injection kit in the mid-90s with plans of installing it on my RX-7.  However plans fell through and I never got around to installing it, so it has sat in a box for about 15 years until I just discovered it while unpacking a couple weeks ago.  The kit is missing a few odd screws and vacuum lines but the major components are there: .4 gallon resevoir tank, electric water pump motor, boost-activated adjustable valve.

What does water-injection do for your car?  Well, for turbo/supercharged or high compression motors, it adds a "buffer" to the combustion event which can reduce or eliminate detonation and pre-ignition.  It allows you to run full timing and boost without fear of breaking something.

This is the old style hand-welded aluminum version before they went to cheap plastic.  Very durable and hard to find.  New Spearco water injection kits are $400-500, but I'm looking for $160 in BTC for this one, shipped within the US.

106  Economy / Digital goods / Re: [WTS] HellaYellaFella.com domain name on: March 21, 2012, 07:45:16 PM
Heh yeah, I just got the domain from a guy in my gaming clan (he had it for several years before I).  We were initially going to just do a transfer, but he had let the domain lapse for too long and they wanted like $100 just to reactivate it in order to do the transfer.  So I said fuck it and got on the stand-by list for a fraction of the price and it just went through today.
107  Economy / Digital goods / [WTS] HellaYellaFella.com domain name on: March 21, 2012, 07:26:34 PM
Apparently "Hella Yella Fella" is a popular name amongst asians, so I'm wondering if anybody would be interested in this.  250 BTC would definitely make it yours, but I'd entertain other offers/trades as well.
108  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: 3x7970 Mining Results. on: January 13, 2012, 06:29:07 PM
^This.  If we're going to compare, let's compare "apples to apples".  Comparing to 5970's in general isn't realistic or accurate.  This is why I compared to 5870s.  When the 7990 comes out in March, THEN we can compare against 5970's with accuracy.

I can't wait for the 7990s!!  I'm already saving for a couple of them Smiley
109  Economy / Goods / Re: WTS HIS 5870 1GB - 27BTC on: January 13, 2012, 05:25:40 PM
Just wanted to confirm this is a legit seller.  I contacted him via eBay and he is indeed the same as the OP.

112  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Catalyst 11.9 out-might fix 100 % CPU bug. on: September 14, 2011, 04:10:43 PM
Been running it two hours now.  Seems solid so far.
Hashrate improved ~1% using cgminer  (840 MHash/s vs 832MHash/s on pair of overclocked & shader-unlocked 6850s).

You're getting 420 MH/s on a 6850?
113  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Who is more arrogant? BitcoinEXpress or CoinHunter? on: September 13, 2011, 08:42:13 PM
I have several Bitcoin exploit testnets

They're called NMC, SC, I0S, IXC and Now Geist Geld....

Why would I want to fool around with networks that has no risk and no real security?

Testing on a test net would be like a cosmetic developer testing on stuffed animals instead of the real thing!

Sometimes you have to sacrifice a few rabbits, monkeys and dogs to get the perfect product people will buy! Grin Grin Grin

I take it you haven't checked the SA forums lately.

TIMETRAVELLER EVICTED.
HUGE SUCCESS.

I am so putting this instead of usual error text in the next build.

It'd be cooler to put something like "Block velocity exceeds 88mph" Tongue
115  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANNOUNCE] New alternate cryptocurrency - Geist Geld on: September 13, 2011, 06:25:00 PM
To get a "acceptable" stale rate at 15s/block you pretty much need a local poold w/ longpolling + cgminer. (at 15 s/block and with poclbm+friends 5s askrate and no LP, you're looking at something like 20% stales)

That would explain things.  Have the Bitcoin devs fixed the timewarp (sorry for lack of a better description, that's the only word I could think of) issue and what's there to stop someone from doing it right now?  Or is there still a bit of muscle required to overcome the existing 10-12TH/s on the network?
116  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANNOUNCE] New alternate cryptocurrency - Geist Geld on: September 13, 2011, 06:16:54 PM
It fixed the timewarp exploit. So now a 51% attacker can do what a 51% attacker is supposed to be able to do. But no longer "create 10000 blocks in 5 minutes"

Ah, excellent.  Good work, Lolcust!
117  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANNOUNCE] New alternate cryptocurrency - Geist Geld on: September 13, 2011, 06:12:32 PM
Ok I think I have everything running now.  I'm getting a lot of stales, but I'm not sure if it's the chain itself or my GPU which has been acting strange lately.  So has GG patched the possible 51% exploit along with the timewarp exploits that Art talked about?
118  Other / Archival / Re: delete on: September 12, 2011, 04:34:44 PM
I sent him a PM along with a duplicate Email this morning.  Let's see if he actually replies :-/

California - Sacramento - Comcast Cable Communications <--- That's the "host" for the server IP in the whois, so he is probably running the site at his home connection. Internet outage, maybe?
Comcast has been known to "encourage" (read: shut down) users who are discovered to be operating commercial sites to upgrade to business accounts.
120  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [ANNOUNCE] New Solidcoin Client Fully Open-Source! on: September 06, 2011, 06:31:16 AM
I will gladly run my whole farm on a new fork to get it going.

Remove the Bounty Coins and the inserted blocks. For all we know CoinHunter still holds a bunch of bounty coins.

I see a new fork a coming!

That would only serve to piss off more people than you probably want to just to get back at one guy.
