201  Economy / Economics / Re: So we can drive the price down by selling fractional amounts at reduced price. on: August 03, 2011, 05:18:53 AM
I have not.  Anybody know if this happen via the API as well?
202  Economy / Economics / So we can drive the price down by selling fractional amounts at reduced price. on: August 03, 2011, 05:14:14 AM
But why, on MtGox, can't we do the opposite by buying fractional amounts less than 1.00?  Anything less than 1.00 on a buy order results in an error "please enter a valid number".

So much for "difficulty follows price... with a lag"  Embarrassed
It does, although it may not be the way you wish. As long as it is profitable to mine the difficulty will continue to increase, even if the price is falling.
Yeah, that's what we'd call "price moves in the opposite direction of difficulty". I really don't think price has that much to do with difficulty and vice versa.  The exchange market seems to have a mind of it's own, regardless of what the difficulty is.
204  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Announcing BidBitcoins.com. NEW Auction Site like E-Bay - All Sales in Bitcoins on: August 01, 2011, 06:23:15 PM
Meh.. Good concept, but a few too many hoops to jump through.
205  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Announcing BidBitcoins.com. NEW Auction Site like E-Bay - All Sales in Bitcoins on: August 01, 2011, 06:15:11 PM
If it's totally anonymous, why did it ask for my phone # during registration?
206  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin = Skynet A.I.? on: August 01, 2011, 06:11:46 PM
When asked why Arnold Schwarzenegger hadn't upgraded to Windows 7 yet, he replied "I still love Vista, baby."
207  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin = Skynet A.I.? on: August 01, 2011, 06:10:23 PM
Maria Shriver recently filed for divorce from Arnold Schwarzenegger.  Maria is seeking custody of their two kids, their houses, and the cars.  Arnold simply said, "I need your clothes, your boots, and your motorcycle."

Oh ok, I just got it.  Thanks!
209  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Announcing BidBitcoins.com. NEW Auction Site like E-Bay - All Sales in Bitcoins on: August 01, 2011, 06:02:17 PM
Ok I registered about 10 mins ago, but I've yet to receive a confirmation/verification Email.  How long does it usually take?
210  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Rich Dad Poor Dad guy recommends buying Bitcoins. on: August 01, 2011, 04:57:55 AM
Good enough for me.  Cancelling my sell order! Smiley
211  Economy / Speculation / Re: $/BTC Time Series Analysis on: August 01, 2011, 04:45:10 AM
Hmm.  Interesting.  Perhaps I should cancel my sell order and just hold on to my BTC for the time being.
212  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Multi-GPU mining w/o Crossfire ? on: July 31, 2011, 11:28:17 PM
I have a 5850 and a 5830 working in a system with out a crossfire bridge and with out dummy plugs.  The 5850 does have a monitor connected though as I still use the system for other tasks.  Using the beta version 11.8 for windows 7 64.  I did not have to "Create a dummy monitor" either in display properties.

The 5850 gets 325 MHash/s and the 830 gets 315 MHash/s.

The pools I have been to have been receiving my shares so everything seems to be working just fine.  This also work with driver 11.7 for me.

Shouldn't you be seeing 400+ MH/s out of that '50?

The site seems to be really sluggish today Sad
215  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: 475+ Mhash/s 5870 - Voltage mod and overclock on: July 31, 2011, 05:24:18 PM
WTF, I was getting 495 MH/s @ 985/300 for about an hour.  I'm not sure what it is I did, but was mining Namecoins in GUIminer, then switched back to mining Bitcoins with Phoenix.  I've done it 2 or 3 times now and it will mine around 495 MH/s for about an hour before it locks up.  I wish I could repro this stably.
You can get the $190 5870's from newegg up to 495? 0.o Even if its only for a hour at that speed that's a huge bargain. Wish I had the money when they had that sale.

This was with a 5870 reference card.  The $190 5870s run normally at around 460 MH/s at 1010/350.
216  Economy / Goods / [SOLD] Patriot Supersonic 64GB USB 3.0 Flash Drive on: July 31, 2011, 07:15:49 AM
I'm selling this Patriot Supersonic 64GB USB 3.0 flash drive that I won in a drawing at work.  Since I don't really have any need for it, I'd like to find someone who could actually use it.

It goes for $149.99 at NewEgg: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820220553 but I'm looking for $100 or 7.5 BTC. I will consider trading for an HD 5830 though.
217  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: MtRed paying you 1% bonus to mine on our beta server until further notice. on: July 30, 2011, 11:37:40 PM
In the profile.html screen, under "Payment method" what does "Porp" mean?  Is that just a misspelling of "Prop"?
218  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [~5000 Gh/s] DeepBit.net PPS+Prop,instant payouts, we pay for INVALID BLOCKS too on: July 30, 2011, 11:07:56 PM
I wish we could retroactively switch to PPS Tongue
219  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [~5000 Gh/s] DeepBit.net PPS+Prop,instant payouts, we pay for INVALID BLOCKS too on: July 30, 2011, 11:02:20 PM
If you think that's bad, MtRed is going on 1d8h4m50s :-/
220  Economy / Economics / Re: So I met a guy who makes Algorithmic Trading Programs for High Frequency Trading on: July 30, 2011, 07:16:18 PM
How do HFTs work?  What do they pay for a transaction?  I was thinking of writing my own bot to use with my Ameritrade account, but there's probably better tools to do this with.
