It's a setback for Roma to replace him with De Rossi, who has no idea how to excite his players. This is why I dislike him, especially since de Rossi is not as good as people assume.
The public's overreaction has given him overconfidence in his club.

You're just a Mourinho fanboy who is looking for a way to trash-talk everything De Rossi has done at Roma so far. He doesn't have to be your favourite manager for you to acknowledge what he's doing. He never claimed he was better than Mourinho.
If you do not see that Roma was sinking before De Rossi was hired then that's a "you problem".
Roma were somewhere around 9th position and with the form they were in there was no way they would have been able to Knock out Brighton at the time. De Rossi took over and turned things around, giving the club hope of winning a trophy.
Funny how you're talking about De Rossi not being able to inspire confidence but it was Mourinho that was failing at that.

You don't have to be salty when talking about these things. Roma did well under De Rossi, it's a shame they couldn't win any trophy, but they got to the semi-finals of the Europa and almost got a shot at playing in the Champions League.
De Rossi may not be a better coach than Mourinho, but please don't talk down on how he lifted the hopes of the players and the fans, he had them believing again because the team started playing better under him.
102  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: May 28, 2024, 05:41:16 PM
I think even though Manchester United have won the FA trophy now, it doesn't mean they are a good enough team at the moment, to face next season of course Manchester United need to improve their performance and also their mentality to achieve consistency in the matches they will indeed live next season, reportedly Manchester United are currently evaluating Ten Hag and let's wait what they will decide later.

Aside from the issue of manager, Manchester United have a lot of overhauling to do. A team like Manchester United shouldn't have the kind of players they have in their squad. There is no way they'll be able to compete against the top teams in Europe with a squad like that.
I have never hidden were I stand with Ten Hag, I believe he won't be a good coach for Man United and he should be replaced, but we also have to consider the squad of his team. The team lacks good defenders and midfielders, even the attack is not very good.
I understand that the squad cannot be strengthened in one transfer window, but there should be a plan. If a new manager is taking over or Man United is sticking with Ten Hag, there should be a plan on how to have a world class squad in the next 2 seasons.
103  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why are banks against cryptocurrency? on: May 28, 2024, 04:38:10 PM
Official adoption of Bitcoin by governments will eliminate the need for banks. Banks are centralized and fully regulated, which is completely inconsistent with the principle of Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies.

This is me just thinking out loud.
Who does this affect more? The banks or the government? In as much as we can agree that bans are against Bitcoin, I believe they're against it mainly because the government are against it. The government can monitor its citizens through the banks. Financial records are obtained through the banks. Taxation and every other thing is somehow connected to the banks. The government is for centralisation, that's what they stand for.
Bitcoin takes some of that power away from them and they don't want that.

If the government officially adopts Bitcoin, the banks will still be there. People would still need financial institutions, centralised exchanges would still be a thing and the banks could evolve to adapt, but the government would not be able to adapt because they wouldn't have control over the people who don't use the banks or centralised exchanges

In the last paragraph of my post, commenting on the idea expressed that it is impossible to fight evil with the same methods, I objected and gave an example of Russia’s military actions towards Ukraine when there is simply no other choice but to kill the Russian occupiers who invaded the territory of Ukraine. C what do you disagree with?

Life isn't always like that. Because the answer to question 1 is A, doesn't mean the answer to question 2 will also be A.
Russia invading Ukraine is an act of war and that gives Ukraine the right to retaliate and defend itself from foreign invaders.
In no way is that situation the same with somebody turning to crime because they want to handle an evil situation with evil.
The government using strong military force against pirates is what can be likened to Ukraine fighting against Russia and in this case, the government has every right to do so, the same way Ukraine has every right to defend itself.
105  Economy / Economics / Re: Would you prefer getting a loan for a startup or getting an investor? on: May 27, 2024, 07:09:52 PM
For me getting an investor is the best of the two. One simple reason is that if a business fails you still have to pay the the loan taken, but with an investor, you both share the loss. Losing a business and having so much debt to pay afterwards is a very difficult place to come out of.
Also, the amount of money you'll get from the investor(s) you'll most likely not get from a loan. Financial institutions won't want to fund the whole of your business, it's too much of a risk. They'll either give you part of the money or none at all.

Besides, I always wonder why people are opposed to getting investors for their businesses. If you really want that business to be as big as you want, you're going to sell shares eventually because you'll need those capitals from somewhere, so why be scared of a third party?
106  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: May 27, 2024, 06:35:06 PM
Here we go. Another unexpected thing is coming again. According to the latest rumor, Ratcliff has contacted De Zerbi to be a successor for ten hag if club will sack him. If this report is correct, ten hags will be fired by manchester united. Manchester United fans must be welcoming him as a new coach when it becomes a reality. I know t's hard to accept it.

Chelsea is an unbelievable club filled with so many bad decisions. What's all the hype around De Zerbi? I'm not totally impressed with what he did at Brighton. Beautiful football is not all there is to the game. I understand and agree that playing beautifully is good but building the team and winning is also important. You need to develop the players, and win games. Brighton under De Zerbi loses by too many margins, and they concede a lot of goals.
I believe De Zerbi will do better in a not-so-big team. Or maybe Juventus will be a good team for him, but Chelsea will be a bad idea.
It's all my speculation though and how I view the game, but I believe there is a different pressure in Chelsea than Brighton.
In the situation where Chelsea is now, they need an experienced manager. They need a manager who can care about winning too.
Chelsea needs to win a trophy next season, you can't spend over a billion and not  have anything to show for it
107  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Italian League Prediction Thread (Serie A) on: May 27, 2024, 06:08:31 PM
The last match between Roma and Empoli were highly significant and probably suspicious. Empoli was on the verge of relegation if it drew or lost against Roma. But it turned out that this on the verge of relegation team defeated the team that has qualified for Europa cup. It was a sad result for Frosinone who got to relegate again to lower league while they were only promoted the last season. There's now only one match left in Serie A which would probably bring the Europa cup winners Atlanta to third place replacing Juventus.

The result of the match wasn't suspicious. It's a normal for a team on the verge of relegation to fight with everything they have to avoid relegation and remain in the top league.
What was suspicious was how big Roma's odd was. It was like the bookies knew Roma was going to lose. How was Roma given a 3+ odd against Empoli? Roma still had a chance to qualify for the Champions League (hoping on Atalanta to drop point), so they still had something to play for and their odd shouldn't have been so high.

Btw, Roma sold me a false dream. I saw how both Roma and Atalanta's odd were big so I decided to be greedy, it paid off with Atalanta but Roma lost. It was a sad experience for me because I had hope when Roma equalised 1-1 in the first half.
108  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2023/24 on: May 27, 2024, 05:23:47 PM
I remember that Xavi said (even when he was about to quit) that he needed a break of a year in order to rest and recover. Plans may change, but probably for this he must receive some interesting offer. With all due respect, he has not yet outgrown the status of a “beginner” coach, so it is unlikely that he will receive it, he needs to choose some ordinary club to prove himself or wait for the mood to change in Barcelona and return there.

A manager who managed a team like Barcelona when they were in 9th position in the league and took them to second position. At the end of the season, the club had to rely partially on free transfers because they were not financially buoyant, that manager took that squad and won the Spanish Super Cup against Real Madrid. That season he won the La Liga, defeating OG managers like Carlo Ancelotti and Diego Simeone with a smaller budget.
The next season was poor, based on the standard of the club because in a lot of clubs, he would have been applauded. Barcelona under Xavi finished 2nd in La Liga and got to the quarter-finals of the Champions League. What does a manager have to do to be rated?

I know Xavi is not a world-class coach, but saying he's still a beginner manager is what I do not agree with and I don't also agree that he can't handle a big project. Maybe he won't be able to handle the top 5 clubs in Europe but he's not a beginner coach. Arterta has gone two seasons in a row without a trophy, but the whole world agrees he's a top manager.
Offers will come for Xavi and I would like him to test himself, it will only be through those tests that he'll learn and grow.
109  Economy / Economics / Re: Sea Piracy, it's effect on the local economy on: May 27, 2024, 04:53:18 PM
Currently, the biggest problem with piracy in the world is the Yemeni Houthis’ attacks on merchant ships in the Red Sea with missiles and drones. You can come up with any justification for such actions, but the fact is: the actions of the Houthis are a classic manifestation of piracy and they need to be fought. After all, great damage is caused to merchant ships, people and maritime commercial shipping in the region as a whole. This has been happening for quite a long time, which means that the current methods used by leading states do not give the desired effect.
Can't you fight evil with evil? Well then, suggest how to solve this problem. At the same time, you can teach us how to stop the current military aggression of Russia, which has been attacking Ukraine for many years, using non-evil methods.

What are you on about? What exactly is your point? That it's okay for people to be pirates because of the jobs were not provided? So if everybody who couldn't get jobs or a source of income should be a criminal?

I really do not understand where you're coming from. Ironically, you're the one justifying what the pirates are doing because they have to pay evil for evil and at the same time you're stating how dangerous the pirates Houthi pirates are. Now imagine somebody justifying what they're doing with "no jobs in the region"
Let me assume you didn't understand the post you quoted, so I'll advise that next time, try to read a post to your understanding before attacking the post.
110  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2023/24 on: May 25, 2024, 02:37:35 PM
Xavi is a good coach who has done various things to make Barcelona rise from adversity. Xavi doesn't get much budget support to strengthen his team, but he doesn't lack ways to make Barcelona have a reliable squad. Of course he has encountered unpleasant stories at Barcelona as a coach, even after bringing Barcelona back to life and competing for the title every season.

Xavi is a good coach, but we know how things turn out when the coach and management do not agree with each other. Previously, Laporta supported Xavi, he backed him, he believed in him and that is why they made sure they got him players last season and the season before that.
When people talk about the financial situation of Barcelona they make it seem like Barcelona didn't buy any players. The club brought in players like Lewandoski, Kounde, Raphinha, Gundugan, Christensen, Cancelo, Felix, Roque, to atoith the players Barcelona already have. yeah yeah, that squad is not the best of the squad but they're a squad that should have been able to compete. If the club feels Xavi has failed to achieve what they wanted then they have the right to let him go. That's what differendifferentiateseam from the rest.
If a coach stays in Madrid and doesn't win any trophy while performing like Barcelona he would be fired.
111  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2023/24 on: May 24, 2024, 06:50:12 PM
Recently, there's been some secret disagreement between Xavi Hernandez and the Barcelona president and that was the reason the club decided to sack him and announce his replacement immediately. I think it's a total disrespect to Xavi Hernandez by the club management to try convince him to stay back when they know they'll still sack him.

Here's what I think about the whole issue.
Barcelona is not in good place financially, so they knew that firing Xavi and hiring a new coach would be expensive for them, so I believe they were exploiting means to afford to let Xavi go and also afford a new top coach but they couldn't put all their eggs in one basket. They couldn't let Xavi go when they're not sure of a replacement or even sure if they can afford the replacement and afford Xavi's sacking, so what did they do? They convinced Xavi to stay. This way if they can't afford a new coach, Xavi stays, if they can afford a new coach, they fire Xavi. They had a fail safe and it turns out in the end Xavi got sacked and Flick was hired.

I feel bad for Xavi for been sacked in this way, but I can't blame Barcelona for doing what they did. Hard choices have to be made. They have to protect the interest of the club first before any other. Also, Xavi wasn't impressive this season so sacking him is not the worst of decisions.
112  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC staying above $67,000, will it reach all time high? on: May 24, 2024, 06:28:12 PM
Previous cycles, the market takes Bitcoin about 9 months or 1 year after its halving to jump to a Euphoria phase.

The problem is that most people don't understand this. Most are experiencing a halving for the first time and they have refused to study and see how bitcoin performed in other halving. The halving was sold to them as a time when the price rises and gets to a new ATH, they were never told how long that might take to happen. Many people believed it would be immediately after the halving. Another thing that fueled this belief was how Bitcoin performed a few weeks before the halving. We saw bitcoin go from around 50k to 70k in days if I'm not mistaken, so they believed the halving would be like that too.

I've always advised people to take a look at bitcoin price history over the years, see how bitcoin reacted to various events and you'll have an idea of how bitcoin price would react now. It may not be spot-on accurate, but like I said, it will give you an idea.
113  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: May 24, 2024, 05:57:41 PM
Maybe they'll fire Xavi Hernandez first. You can focus on that for now. I feel like if they get him fired they're daft and a dvmp headed side. How well have they even transformed Nice in the france league 1 Competition.
Can't believe you're one of those who use just a season to judge how the coach has been for the club. It's mind blowing...

Did you say a season? Isn't this Ten Hag's second season?
Comparing Ten Hag to Xavi is not very fair for Xavi, is it? Xavi has been at the club for 2 and a half seasons and he has a league title and the Spanish Super Cup to his name, what does Ten Hag have? Now the trophies aside, have you been impressed with the way Ten Hag handles Manchester United? Look at the way he handles the players, that shows poor management. Look at how the team plays, very awful. Barcelona wants to fire Xavi because they're a big club and a big club wants results.

There are a few things you look at before giving a coach more time at the club even though he's failing. One of those things is how he instils confidence confidence on his squad. Now let me ask you this, do Manchester United players believe they can win a trophy next season? Do they believe in themselves? What motivation do they have? Indeed, United don't have a good squad, but the players should believe in themselves and that would only happen if the coach instils that confidence in them.

You talked down on Arsenal, and that's cool. I'm history, Manchester United have a better mentality than them, but this isn't history. The difference between Manchester United and Arsenal right now is that Arsenal believe they'll win a trophy next season (even though they might not) but I can't say the same for Manchester United
114  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Italian League Prediction Thread (Serie A) on: May 23, 2024, 08:10:38 PM
The last round of Serie A will be quite paradoxical: Juventus, Bologna and Atalanta will decide the fate of Roma. If Atalanta finishes the season in 5th place, then Roma will receive a ticket to the Champions League, and if Atalanta rises higher (mathematically it can take 3rd-4th place), then Roma will go to the Europa League.

I'd like Atalanta to drop points against Torino and Fiorentina while Roma wins against Empoli so that Roma can qualify for the Champions League since Atalanta has already qualified after winning the Europa League.
I want the six teams from Italy to play in the Champions League next season because I want the world to start giving the Italian series A the respect it deserves. The league has been doing well lately with some very big competitions. Nobody wins it back-to-back anymore and now at the beginning of every season, at least 4 teams have the biggest chance to win the league.
We also see how far they go in Europe. Inter got to the UCL final last season and Atalanta won the Europa this season. The league needs more money and more PR and it would be regarded as the best league in Europe. Juventus, Milan, Inter, Atalanta, and Roma are teams that can be top teams in Europe if they're backed properly.
Lazio, Fiorentina, and Bologna are also very good teams.
115  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: May 23, 2024, 07:55:15 PM
It would be a gigantic surprise if for some weird reason, Manchester United would be able to beat City. The game got to be played first of course, but City is running hot again. Pep Guardiola wants two titles, no need to mention that obviously. But it is a huge chance for Ten Hag to give the new leadership some reasons to keep him as a coach, but I honestly hope that United gets destroyed and this guy finally loses his job.

Manchester United won't win the FA Cup final. I understand that it's football and until the game is played anything is possible, but Pep is not going to let that opportunity slip away from him, same way he didn't let the opportunity he had in the league after Arsenal Arsenal lost to Villa slip. Pep is a winner. He has a winning mentality and given this kind of chance where he can win 2 trophies this season, he won't miss it

I believe Ten Hag should be fired too. He's been disastrous at Manchester United. The players don't improve, they don't play well, there's no motivation. I'm even surprised Chelsea fired Pochettino and Ten Hag is still at Man United. Pochettino is doing a better job than Ten Hag.

Manchester United once was a powerhouse in global football and now they are not worth mentioning when it comes to the Premier League title. No way that they will win that title for many years to come.
As much as I agree that Ten Hag has been an ass as manager for Manchester United, the downfall of Manchester United is not Ten Hag's fault. The team have crumbled in different aspects. The management of the team, the owners, the board, and everybody at the club lost their way. There were videos of the stadium roof leaking while it was raining, which shows a club with absolutely poor management.

I am wondering what Guardiola's plans are and whether he wants to stay at City for longer. It would be great as I think football needs those personalities. Klopp is gone now, he would be a big loss if he leaves City one day.

If I were Pep I would try the Seria A. He has conquered Spain, Germany and now England, it would be nice to do it in Italy. Maybe he can manage Inter Milan or Juventus, but I doubt those clubs can afford him because they're not in a very good financial place right now, especially Juventus.
PSG is also another club that will fit Pep very well. I don't believe he will continue at Manchester City next season, but let's wait and see how it goes.
116  Economy / Economics / Re: Work From Home or The "Laptop Class" is Immoral or Not? on: May 23, 2024, 07:21:39 PM
How is Mr Musk doing who is on the moral high horse telling people to get off their moral high horse? How is it morally wrong for people to want to work from home? In my opinion, it makes things easier. It should only be a problem if the person is not productive and if if an employee is not productive you let him go. There are many people who would take on the job and do it well.

He's talking about about engineers, people who fix my house and people who deliver my food not being able to work from home. Really? Did I make them go into that profession or trade? The hypocrisy of this guy. He's worth billions of dollars and there are people who don't make up to a hundred dollars a month, why doesn't he ask how morally wrong that is?
How is it morally okay for a doctor who saves life to make just 20% of what a football player makes? Elon Musk of all people should understand how life works.
117  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The difference between gamblers and real Bitcoin investors? on: May 23, 2024, 06:40:44 PM
This feels like a very myopic way of seeing things.
First of all, who takes Bitcoin investing as his job? How feasible is that? Bitcoin investing is an investment that anybody can have. I don't believe it's a profession. Bitcoin trading can be a profession, I guess that's what you mean.

Secondly, how did you decide that bitcoin investing/trading is the most difficult job in the world? There are tonnes of jobs in this world and so many of them are very difficult. The fact that you do not know the dynamics of the job doesn't make it easy.

Finally, you didn't really address your topic. Gambling is betting money on an event and the outcome is determined by chances while investments are buying an asset which grants you ownership of that asset. There are similarities between gambling and investment, but there are also differences and I don't believe "restlessness and waiting" is what differentiates the two.
118  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Europa League 2023/24 Season on: May 23, 2024, 05:39:01 PM
I was always one of the guys here who dont fully back Bayern Leverkusen in this tournament, in the last time i start to back them a litle bit more because they were showing a unique habilty to scape from every dificult situation, but also yesterday in this thread i said, for me it was super high odds 4.33 for Atalanta to win, and you see Atalanta oblited Leverkusen with a Lookman out of this world yesterday.

For yesterday's game, I just knew Leverkusen wasn't unbeatable. I knew they were good and in good form but Atalanta was also a very good team in very good form too. They picked form late that's why they are 5th on their league table, but now they're in top form.
My biggest doubt for Leverkusen was that they've not met any top team aside from Bayern Munich in the league and Bayern Munich are not in the best of form right now.

I must admit I didn't expect that scoreline, even though my money was in Atalanta to win. I expected the scoreline to be like 2-1 or 1-1. Atalanta really surprised me yesterday. People still had hope that Leverkusen would make a comeback when it was 2-0, but I didn't. I knew the game was over for Leverkusen.
Congratulations to Atalanta on winning the Europa League.
119  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Europa League 2023/24 Season on: May 22, 2024, 06:15:46 PM
I like many here think Bayer will be champions, but I really hope there will be surprises in this match... Although usually the final matches are not rich in goals, I want to see goals from both teams... By the way, bookmakers give good odds that both teams will score, but favour Bayer... But it's probably safe to take a chance and place a small bet on Atalanta taking the title... The odds are more than 2...

I am very neutral in this game. Both teams are very good and Andy of them that wins it deserves it very much. Atalanta has been very good this season, they started the season slowly but now they're doing very well. They have all it takes to win Leverkusen.
Leverkusen on the other hand have been very good all season. They haven't even lost any match this season. Winning the final today would mean they finished the season unbeaten, that's an insane record. I don't think any team have achieved that before.

Knowing how funny and cruel football is, I might just bet on Atalanta to win. Leverkusen are having a fairy tale season, winning the Europa would be the icing on the cake and somehow I have a feeling they might not achieve it. I know they're the better team and the odds are in their favour, but football can be funny at times so I'm sticking with my gut for my bet.
120  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Lack of capital or knowledge, which one is holding traders back from profits? on: May 22, 2024, 05:18:04 PM
I think it's both and you've answered the question in your post already.
There are people have have a "lack of capital" problem and there are those that have a "lack of knowledge" problem. We can't decide which is more important than the other because they're both problems.
Without knowledge, all your capital is useless when it comes to trading and without capital, the knowledge you have won't be useful until you get capital.

Both problems can be solved and you've given the solution.
If you have a lack of capital problem, then look for a job or a source of income so you can use that money for trading.
If you have a lack of knowledge problem, make more research, find a mentor, study more and learn. Pay for courses (good courses of course, not those scam people that are everywhere)
Make use of YouTube. YouTube is a very good app for learning that people overlook a lot too.
