101  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: is defi reason for skyrocketing fees? on: September 03, 2020, 08:58:02 PM
I was a bit worried from last few days regarding the high gas fees because I've to pay 10 to 15$ per transaction, that's a huge amount for me as fees, so I started my research regarding the gas fees, and found that defi is the only reason that makes the gas fees that high ,due to the huge trend of defi it makes the ethereum network so much busier that we've to pay more than usual for gas fees ,what you think about it ,help me understand current situation for being so high fees.

Your research pretty much sums up why the Ethereum network fees are so ridiculously high. The fact that you paid ~ $15 for your transaction isn't too bad.

I've even witnessed having to pay up to $80 - and that's painful.

So why are the rates so high, well is to do with the regular and crazy pumping of the DeFi based coins which clutters up the network so a lot more work needs to be done onto the blockchain to process your transaction.
102  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What went wrong here? on: September 03, 2020, 07:29:28 PM
Hi

I entered a trade today and bought ALGO. The price broke from a triangle pattern but within 5 mins of entering the trade the price began to fall. Did I enter the trade too early after breakout ? I have added the chart below:

First of all, the link doesn't exist. That's the error I get.

As for your specific question it would help to know which exchange platform you used to buy it from. In any case though, it just seems that you definitely entered at the wrong time.

On top of this, you simply bought the wrong coin. I mean look at the growth it had over the period of 1 year, and over the weeks this coin has been on a downtrend - so I'm not so sure why you'd buy in when every indicator is telling you not to  Undecided

103  Economy / Economics / Re: I have Good news and Bad news about economy on: September 03, 2020, 05:30:14 PM
Good news are crypto will Go Up.
Stock market will Go Up.
More loans will be issued More stimulus.

A lot Money will be printed a lot like grazy ammount of Money markets will go grazy!!
So all of these predictions of yours has there been or is there any evidence to back up all the opinionated statements you make  Huh That's what I'm interested in hearing rather than you going on about how you want to get paid to get this 'market info' from you.

The fact that you say both crypto and stock markets will go down while most of the worlds' economy is in a recession already puts some doubt in my mind.

Also, your biggest. mistake was to mention that these economic issues will be solved by 'printing more money' but you forgot to mention that that doesn't solve any economic issues as that would drive inflation through the roof.

In any case, the conclusion is that you must be trolling.
104  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Police reportedly seize South Korea's largest crypto exchange Bithumb on: September 03, 2020, 04:46:49 PM
If this incident was indeed true then I'm afraid, Bithumb will suffer a major blow to its credibility and it would be good that they should settle it at once

because South Korea's law enforcement and justice system could be harsh and the Government take it seriously especially on fraud and corruption

charges, evident of which are those their past Presidents were indicted and sentenced to several years in jail. Imho.

Absolutely, I'm with you. If this is really legit then not only this news will be a hard blow to the exchange but to the rest of the crypto currency in one way or another. It would at least cause loss of investors' confidence and not to mention the bad press attraction around the world of crypto.

On the other hand, the morale of the story is that you should only entrust big enough exchanges which if they try to pull something dirty you can at least be in a somewhat better position to recover your loss/es.
105  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Your experience with DeFi on: September 03, 2020, 03:00:03 PM
I heard a lot about DeFi, more than about the POS of ETH 2.0 coming. However, I have not had the opportunity to experience DeFi much, I have never even used crypto payment.
Many people understand that DeFi is Lending & Borrowing, and I think this is the main activity that has made DeFi such strong growth in the past 6 months.
Have you ever Lend & Borrow in DeFi? Or how did you experience DeFi? Trading on DEXs? Invest in ICOs/IEOs? Please share your experiences about DeFi.

DeFi goes beyond the level of Lending & Borrowing to the extent that you can do anything you want as with any other cryptocurrency. DeFi is how many new projects come about, by integrating the Ethereum network, so you could either trade using DeFi based coins/tokens or you can be involved in private ICOs/IOEs.

It really is a matter of you knowing what you want and finding the right people to guide you there.
106  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Who has the eye that looks into the future? on: September 02, 2020, 09:22:45 PM
Few years back, I could remember Cryptocurrency wasn't really known by most people and the idea was joked with, even I myself didn't have a thought on it, but the growth of crypto is now alarming that almost all my friends are into one or two of it. Looking into the future I suggest Cryptocurrency will suspend other past used currencies and take over, what do you think?

I think that 'who has the eye that looks into the future' is a FUTURIST. That said, one must always look for opportunities and never doubt but show a reasonable level of scrutiny. Cryptocurrency is one of those topics that can build so much as its potential lies in our hands, we just need to overcome the few obstacles that other implement due to the fear of not understanding.
107  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is it alright to invest with bitcoin at the current market price? on: September 02, 2020, 09:37:26 AM
"Is it still best time to invest now with the current market price? Or will wait for bitcoin market to crash? What do you think?

I think you should always seize the opportunity and if you can't see one, then make one! Therefore, I think you being hopeful that the price might drop in the future and that's when you're going to invest is not the best strategy.

At least in my opinion, as this often tends to lead to more procrastination and more reasons why now is not a good time to enter the market.

Remember, this is all about taking risk ad if you are risk-averse than you're not standing a good chance at making healthy profits.
108  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is Defi New revolution or just like 2017 ICO,s ? on: September 01, 2020, 07:38:29 PM
Guys
these days heard lots about Defi ?

what do you think Defi have some real use cases if yes

would you think its good to invest in it ?

Honestly, I do think that the future of finance is DeFi. For me this is an upcoming sector which can lead to great profitability if you invest smartly. The difficult part just like with any other coins is that you still have to go through the selection process and identify the projects that will make it.

While I get that some people are put off by DeFi, some look at it as an opportunity for investment. It's a matter of attitude and research, which is what crypto is altogether isn't it ?
109  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What area of bitcoin participation is easiest to work with? on: September 01, 2020, 05:25:34 PM
I have seen bounty hunter doing well, I have also seen people who do not participate in bounty and are making it well with trading alone, but I have never seen anyone around me being involved in mining, I learnt mining is more risky and cannot just be done alone, and if you even attempt it probably with your android, you may end up wasting your time and not even making it as the traders and hunters. It tend to take a massive effort to be successful in mining, you need good electricity, good mining wallet, computer with good capacity, and some other gadgets. Considering all this, which of all the participation do you see as least demanding and easiest?

As you already said it, for mining you need to start with a lot of investment first, you need some equipment to start off and think about it even if you do manage to mine a few blocks that probably won't earn you much when you're up against pros who can invest in the largest computers CPUs etc.

Thus, the only two viable options without prior investment is bounty hunter and trading. The trouble with bounty hunters is that you mainly get paid in tokens and so you're not actually 'earning', only if you get lucky the token might get listed but this is not the norm.

With trading, on the other hand, you can start but then again you need to have some money and some knowledge in order to make profits, and it is risky if you're not sure about how to interpret the market volatility.

These are some of the pros + cons for the options available. Only you can decide for yourself which one suits you best.

Hope this helps.
110  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trading group on: September 01, 2020, 08:18:56 AM
I just want to communicate with the threaders.

I do understand your point but think about it if trader was doing really well then they wouldn't waste their time in these groups will they? When instead they could be earning a lot of money.

Therefore, it depends why you want to join these groups, if it's to meet other like minded people who are trying to understand what trading is about and which strategies might work or not then I think that's fine. However, if the reason is to get insight into their own winning strategies then, all I can say is 'Good luck with that'.  Time is valuable, and to most time is money!
111  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Virtual trading before actual one - pros and cons on: August 31, 2020, 07:13:36 PM
I see a lot of advice where people suggest each other to practice on websites where they can trade with virtual money. To be fair, I am in this list too among them but at the same time no one warns such people that it was it's pros and cons, more likely cons are outsiders while giving advices.

Pros: You trade with virtual money where your actions can't raise/damage your real budget, it looks like you spend money like nothing. This gives us possibility to test our skills and abilities in trading and help us further why we make mistakes and what we need to fix while considering the fact that the reason why I profit/lose is because you lose/profit.

Yeah, it sounds good but sometimes when we move on real life trading, things go wrong. We are always warned to leave our emotions outside while we are trading that includes: Not to panic sell, hold when there are harsh moments, etc. But we forget to mention another main emotion that we face in this situation: We trade with our money where we are responsible to results and these results may have huge impact on our life. Inside, in our subconscious, we worry about the results because we trade with our, real money.

To my mind that's one of the main reason why people usually start well with virtual trading and end up badly in real life trading and somehow this is one of the most skipped problem in overall.

Virtual trading training is of help to some extend, specially to the person who never did any training.

However, for any real strategy development and understanding of the real market movements there's no way around it.

You have to play with real money and learn the invaluable lessons by losing some of that money, at first. So I do agree with you that virtual trading is only for fun but it doesn't really bring real value to your winnings.
112  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Bitcoin such a big risk? on: August 31, 2020, 01:30:24 PM

Is it riskier to place your money in Bitcoin or hold them in a fiat savings account? What's your opinion?

I think it depends on what type of mind-set you have. In some regards, BTC and crypto investments in general can be risky in the sense that you might be buying at the wrong times but even if you make that a long-term investment, often the wait pays off. Fiat savings is what normal, regular people use and in times of financial strain like these I don't see fiat savings as a great option.

Thus, either option in its own way carries risk as well as benefit. However, we live in a world where most people are risk-averse so usually the'd stick to something that is less mind-bugging and thus go for the easier option - maybe not necessarily the best though!
113  Economy / Gambling / Re: Chips.gg casino on bitcointalk? on: August 31, 2020, 08:17:47 AM
they are still under the development of their casino but i already registered to them already i think they will not miss the chance to open an announcement thread here but i think they are going to do it once their casino is fully functioning.

Yup, looks like their going to bring out a big one, you can even tell from their promo. In any case, it is best to wait until they're fully prepared as first impressions matter and it is best to get it right the first time round. Their reputation is on the line. At least, they'll be able to tell that people are excited to have them on board  Cheesy
114  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Yearn.Finance (YFI) hits $28k on: August 30, 2020, 08:33:07 PM
What's going on with this coin? It's getting pumped crazy af right now.

https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/yearn-finance/

This coin is going so hard that it makes you think that if you buy in now it surely will go down, then you realise that it miraculously keeps getting pumped and then you start from square 1 again. It is so ridiculously high that it could dump at any minute, so it makes it risky to enter when it already multiplied like 100x already.

I guess, everyone's thinking if I'd seen it earlier I would now be rolling...but that's life
115  Economy / Speculation / Re: History shows Bitcoin price may take 3-12 months to finally break $20K on: August 30, 2020, 06:22:36 PM
What you provide is a comprehensive cherry-picking market prediction while plugging in 'quotes' that support the overall statements.
Personally, though I don't know how much weight one should add to these predictions but for me one fact is clear and that is that after prolonged stabilisation a new bull cycle often follows.

So, there might be some truth to these opinions but I always think that is best to persevere in any market conditions. That way you're not betting your odds on 'what if' but taking the ups/downs of the market as it comes. This is at least my approach to crypto trading, and I must stress that this is not something I recommend everyone do as not everybody can live with this. Just practice whatever works for you.
116  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Outrageous trading fees, should I switch to stocks? on: August 30, 2020, 04:07:34 PM
Should I just sell all my BTCs and switch to my country's stock market? Or is there a better option for me that I'm missing?

Whether you switch to stock market instead is up to you but just bear in mind that this in the long-run won't be as profitable as crypto. While I understand that the fees at your end are making you think twice about crypto trading, if you're going in for the long ride I'd say buy now for a long HODL - only if this is something you're comfortable with.

Perhaps, also VP might be an option for your crypto trading and dealing with the rip of fees you're getting charged using your local exchanges  Huh
117  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Which type of trading you think is good? on: August 29, 2020, 10:51:46 PM
I'm not going with existing theory. I have categorized trading as follows-
1. Based on technical analysis
2. Based on event news
While I'm not much expert in TA, I can achieve it if I spend some hours a day for a month I belive.
On the other hand, trading based on event news is pretty easy. You don't need to have much knowledge other than the capacity of ebaluating a project.
What do you think? Which method is good?
]
In my opinion, the more information you have the more of an informed decision you can make. Therefore, I'm in favour of using both strategies combined rather than using them on their own. I have done this in the past, and as the theories state when you have more data, you can start taking more risks because your spread of data should help you better understand the market and when to plan your market entry/exit.
118  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is DeFi hype the same as ICO hype in 2017? on: August 29, 2020, 09:43:47 PM
I don't mean that all projects are bad and they will fall, but I want to warn people. Despite the fact that in 2017 there were many good ICO projects that have been successfully developed so far, and now there are many good DeFi projects that will be developed in the future, most projects fail. Do not invest blindly in everything that is popular, understand the potential risks, think yourself and never follow others, it's your money and time.

I agree and I think the word of caution against DeFi projects is very reasonable. It's obviously crucial that even if the buzz word 'DeFi' is being thrown around and dropped in many projects you still have to be cautious with your investments. Just because its DeFi doesn't mean it won't be a scam or fail.

So yh, best to keep these things in mind. And the analogy to bounty/ICOs is a good example where things have gone wrong when people didn't pay much attention to the details.
119  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I have shared about bitcoin on my class on: August 29, 2020, 06:30:27 PM
I'm glad to see that this was received well and with little skepticism.

As from my experience when I try to tell people about it I get 2 kinds of people, people who look the other way and remain stubborn at their own ignorance and the other people who genuinely look interested and want to learn, some which even consider buying.

I'm always pleased when people are open to learning new concepts and embrace knowledge generally! Glad you had such a positive experience.
120  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can Satoshi Stop bitcoin? on: August 29, 2020, 11:31:11 AM
do you think he has the capacity to stop it "again"?

You're saying this as if Satoshi has already been involved in stopping it. That's just WRONG!!!
For what we know Satoshi might just be an alias either for an individual or a group and even if this referred to a group then as a group of individuals they won't be able to stop BTC.

The highest effect this may lead to might be strong market positioning but not much other than that because the network has grown so much that the influence and power doesn't lie with anybody but the consortium made up of every major BTC holder.
