meme.. they are everywhere Tongue

What is a meme?

for some reason i think he's lying

Nah, I wasn't lying when I was asking what it was. Shortly after my last post I Googled it and figured it out.

I still don't know wtf a meme is.  Huh

104  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Who is quitting mining due to block halving? on: November 29, 2012, 06:41:57 PM
I switched to mining Litecoin until the rest of my cards sell. I've been enjoying gaming again...these 7xxx series cards are excellent!
105  Economy / Economics / Re: Billionaires hate Bitcoin. on: November 29, 2012, 07:00:18 AM
i sent an article to my close minded millionaire brother in law about bitcoin. he only responded with negative comments. "too much theory" "i dont see the value in it". he wasnt happy to talk about it and didnt understand it, at all.

i brought it up to another millionaire (soon to be billionaire) that i know, 2 times. This guy understands how the world financial ponzi works and is very awake. he understands the basics of bitcoin, but i dont think he spent much time thinking about it. In a brief discussion we had, he said "it wont work because the usd is still the reserve currency. So even if other countrys adopt btc it wont matter because everything is priced in usd." he likes gold and silver for the future. also he said when "btc starts to pick up speed the us government will clamp down on it one way or another."

most of these rich fuckers are older guys who dont understand technology like us on this forum. they know best how to sell, ideas, themselves and they know how to manipulate people. bitcoin threatens to undermine their pile of government cash, and even the whole political structure their money on.

we cant let these rich fuckers hold back society and civilization.

You're right, these same rich fuckers don't necessarily have to know more than one way to strike it rich. For instance, nobody could have told you for sure what was going to happen with Apple. Some took a chance and most didn't. We see what kind of numbers the ones who took a chance experienced, while the others like me and everyone I know have made $0 off of the Apple stock. I'm not missing out on Bitcoin! Just sayin'

People won't be pissed if the developers receive a freaking jalepeno. Period.
107  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Enjoy the Last 24 Hours of Profitable GPU Mining on: November 28, 2012, 11:46:21 AM
If you really wanted to shut it down and sell the hardware wouldnt it be way wiser to do it some weeks before? Now you will get a real bad price because the market will be flooded. So much worse that its probably worth months of mining. Am i wrong?
No you are right. I sold most of my GPUs quite a while back, but kept 1 7970 to game on.

Lol! I kept a 7950 to game on. I decided to sell my 7970 because I was able to get another $100 dollars out of it vs. my 7950s. These 7xxx series cards ain't no joke. I'm crushing BF3 frames now!
108  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: bad news for bASIC - not shipping til mid Jan at best on: November 28, 2012, 10:47:45 AM
Canceling my orders with everyone (BFL, Basic). Time to go back to the original plan of waiting until someone actually has a product before i even consider ordering. The level of incompetence is mind numbing. Lets see how long people get strung along.

I'm right there along with you, although I do have an early order with BFL(like within the first hour kind of early!) but it was only for a jalepeno. So I wouldn't cancel that order even if I was freaking broke because $165 couldn't get me through a night at the titty bar let alone a financial bind. If they(BFL) can provide me with any evidence whatsoever that they will be shipping before the middle of January I might upgrade that Jalepeno to a Little Single because I can. Otherwise I guess I'm out of mining until someone starts delivering. I'm still trying to wrap my head around the bASIC bomb that got dropped earlier. Whatever happened must have been bad man. The only real scenario that I could imagine happened is Tom's engineering team was giving him a bullshit sandwich until sometime recently. It's all starting to make sense now that they would never give him any specifics like power or pictures! It's like they haven't even started his "project" yet. Crazy shit man. I will hit it hard when they(asics) are in the wild and I know exactly what I'm getting and how long it will take to get it. Until then I've got some other avenues to cruise through.
109  Economy / Digital goods / Re: Selling $110 Newegg Giftcard [8 BTC / $85] and Amazon Giftcard! on: November 28, 2012, 08:52:35 AM
I actually thought about shooting an offer for the newegg code, but didn't because I seen the person took weeks to actually get back online so I got skeptical. Sucks that it didn't work out for you. Karma's a bitch and these mother@#$%s will eat it for what they do to people. Peace

Don't bother right now...come back in about 4 years.
111  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Enjoy the Last 24 Hours of Profitable GPU Mining on: November 27, 2012, 07:40:26 PM
Yeah, I know it's not exact, but I just noticed we had hit block 209,858, or 142 blocks from BTC reward halving.  Assuming 6 blocks/hour, we're just under 24 hours (23.66 to be exact) until we hit block 210,000 and reward goes down to 25 BTC/block.

Unless BTC/$ goes way up, at .10 kilowatt/hour here, I'll still be profitable, but just barely, and likely not worth the effort/aggravation.

It's been fun...and I'll be sad to see it go away.  Sad

I totally agree! I'm going to stop mining Bitcoins tomorrow and switch what few gpus I have left over to Litecoin until I sell them. It's been fun, but I won't miss the heat and noise!
112  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: bASIC - speed boost - 54G now 72G, 27G now 36G (~) on: November 27, 2012, 07:34:08 PM
If someones ignore button is yellow, does that mean tons of people have ignored them and the forum is suggesting I do so also?

I've only seen two people with yellow Ignore buttons now, electricmucus and MeSarah

Yes, the more people push the ignore button the more the button turns that funky piss yellow.
113  Other / Off-topic / Re: Butterfly Labs November Update (ASIC Chips are "flawed". Delays.) on: November 27, 2012, 07:32:37 PM
I was wrong, they will wait until 1BTC be worth 1000 $, then a refund will be possible  Wink

Dude they get their Bicoin payments through Bitpay, which means they never actually accept a Bitcoin. All is converted to U.S. dollars before it enters their account.
114  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Serious ASIC question - ASIC Manufacturers Please Respond! on: November 27, 2012, 03:39:23 AM
No, this isn't overlooked. This was addressed hundreds of times when ASICs were first released. There's a reason the mods had to make an entire Mining Speculation subforum.

True, it is addressed many times over in those forums. Its seems that thought disappears as soon as someone starts complaining about the profits these companies have supposedly robbed them of. Meatball is right about the fact that all of the companies "selling" asics have honored pretty much all refunds, so why try and harass the "distributors" and cause such a scene when if they really wanted to they could just walk away from it all. If someone plans to mine for coins for years and years then why would it matter if we wait 1 week or 1 month? Everyone else that bought asics are still waiting, no big deal.
115  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Serious ASIC question - ASIC Manufacturers Please Respond! on: November 26, 2012, 10:30:26 PM
One huge thing that is often overlooked is the fact that if Bitcoin tanks, so does everything associated with Bitcoin. Im willing to take the risk because I believe, and not because there is a single person on this earth who can assure me that Bitcoin will succeed.
116  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: bASIC 2x54gh/s (72gh/s now?) First HOUR Order (#304, first being#266) on: November 25, 2012, 10:43:06 AM
Nope that is the way it goes and what was said in the announcement in servers for instance you have 2, 4, 8 ... continuing on the same power of two for however many sockets they put on them there is no odd ball 7, 9, 11 socket machines. On the other was thinking you were BFL troll doing your bit for the cause...
@ Crazyates,
Umm yeah, powers of 2 has a lot to do with a lot. Just coming from someone who is a Computer Science major. Just sayin'
So you can't make a chip that only has 6 chips? Why not? That seems weird to me.

And if this is the case, and it is such a basic concept, why didn't Tom's development team pick up on this originally?

I don't think that it's impossible to run 6 chips on a board, I just think that when it came down to it they were like "Look Tom we tried to pull it off with 6 but because of this....we would be better off adding 2 more chips and then we could give you what you were initially seeking performance-wise."

118  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Problem with GPU! on: November 25, 2012, 03:21:21 AM
I started guiminer today for the first time this month and after a while I thought it was ok, but when I came back in the room my screen said "No signal or signal cannot be displayed" but my PC was still on and running. I turned off my computer started it back up again and tried it again and it did it again after about 5 minutes.. I'm still using the same OC's that I usually use on the same card.
Anyone got any ideas?

I have 1 idea and it's maybe my GPU is too cold. Does that happen to a card if it's too cold?

No, your card can't be too cold. Let off of your overclock a bit. Over the course of time eventually you can overclock less and less as the life of the card starts to diminish.
119  Economy / Speculation / Re: Which one shall go TO DA MOON? Siver or Bitcoin? on: November 24, 2012, 07:48:38 PM
I'll say silver, just because it's been around a lot more than Bitcoin.
That's like saying "I'll say horses just because they've been around a lot longer than air planes or cars"

Agreed. Nowadays newer can easily be better. Just sayin'
120  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: WTB Graphics Cards on: November 24, 2012, 07:43:43 PM
Just wanted to let people know that I put the cards on ebay to get squeeze more out of them. Same name, no caps. Peace
