101  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [ETHEREUM] [POOL] https://ETH.suprnova.cc 0% fee, 20 % BONUS per Block ! // on: February 03, 2016, 03:39:16 AM
hi i rented hash speed at rig.online 420 mhs dagger it just mines with low speed sometimes its complete offline thats not what i thought for a 24 h period for 0.09xxx btc same for the miner that should mine at 280 mhs it mines slower so the expected target calculator wise shoud be around 20 to 25 ether for 700 mhs lets see if i can get it with the rented power or if its a scam did somebody use this service before all mining boxes are rented there

I've rented there and the math worked out +/-5% or better.

My problem is I have 3 7970's and I'm only getting 38 MH/s. I was expecting 75. It's all good gear. I'm a reader since 2012, but this time I can't find any info.

Yeah DO NOT rent from there. I've rented twice: once for 18 hours at 620 MH/s and once for 24 hours at 420 MH/s. I was never given any of the Ethereum that was mined and never refunded any bitcoin for renting the miners. I have contacted the admin 3 or 4 times and never get a reply. Save your BTC and rent somewhere else. Rigs.Online is a scam for sure. Really can't believe the link is allowed on the front page of the pool.
102  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Affordable motherboard for GPU mining? on: January 28, 2016, 02:33:14 PM

Some MSI motherboards have 7 PCIE slots, like G41, G45, GD55 or GD65.  I bought the MSI Z77A GD55 for $160 two years ago. I sold it for $180 a few weeks ago. They are in demand.

Great! I have a look into them and check which one would be suitable to start mining according to my budget. About the ideal power supply for the GPUs, how do I know how many watts PSU do I need for lets say 6 or 7 GPUs? I just want to know since I don't want to waste money on a bigger watt power supply, when I could have bought one that meets the wattage requirements for the GPUs.  Smiley

Need context to qualify a response, as in: what card(s) you'll be building your rig out on.

I would be using AMD cards for my mining rig to mine Ether. I think that with 6 AMD Radeon R9 GPU cards,  I will mine a lot of Ether but that would depend on current mining difficulty. For starting, I will just buy 3 GPUs and see how well it goes for me. Then I would buy more as needed.  Grin

7970 cars are the best to mine. It is cheaper than 280x and has the same structure. You can have ROI if the Ethereum price is kept at 0.005 btc.

I hope ETH price remains stable so that I could ROI fast. Thanks for recommending me this type of GPU to mine. It is indeed cheaper than 280x ones and if it performs the task well, then it would definitely be a keeper for my future mining rigs.  Cheesy

The problem with Ethereum mining is that it will last no more than 10 months. It will become PoS after some time.

You can ROI on an ethereum rig in 3.5 months right now if you don't go out and buy all new parts. My rig just cost me $900 and will ROI in 110 days. Even less if the price stays like it is now(it will correct itself soon i'm sure). I'm hashing at around 80 MH/s at 950 Watts thats with an underclocked 7990 and two 7950s on an old ass AMD athlon 2 processor+ motherboard I had left over.

Building a second rig almost the same and will have roughly 6 months of profit. Even if PoS comes when they say it will I will have already made $750 in profit per rig. And I can sell those cards on ebay to make back more.

Mining Ethereum may only last 10 months but it's still very much worth it and may provide you the extra cash you need to buy the next gen 16nm ASICs or something else...

Posting some numbers for the past 5 days of my avalon.  What are the consequences of running a lower frequency while maintain same fan % and voltage?

Interesting that your best hashrate occurs at your lowest max frequency. Any explanation? Voltages seem relatively close, varies only ~100 mV.

I pm'd him asking if he is mining with westhash or nicehash

when nicehash/westhash gets really overpriced and you set a number under the price your hash rates get weird.

right now nicehash is   over .0050 for a rental  so if you are renting you gear to them at a setting of .0046

two things can happen  you make the rental connection really solid and your hash will be lifted a bit.

there are other explanations

but I was able to do this today.

Ah didn't know it was on nicehash. I remember reading this in their FAQ when renting some hashrate from them a while back. Too bad, I was hoping there was something interesting happening and there was something more to the "sweet spot" found on that frequency ;(

I have extracted a solo miner showed resolve, but the server node seems to be ignored, that is, the balls from the miner with chunks.

LOL true. I'm sorry man, just knocked this out blindly without access to an actual AMD card. For now, some further testing by others have indicated there presently no need to worry about allocation problems in the near future. I wil have to verify for myself to be absolutely sure though.

I'd could send you one of my 7950s if you want to pay for shipping i have a bunch laying around due to no motherboards to host them in.

This dag problem is getting huge for my my 900mh/s farm is down to like 700mh/s

The Dag problem is not a problem as it affect all the graphics cards. But I heard that it affects R9 380 less.

I keep hearing this as well, but i don't think I've seen enough data to be sure about this yet, or the reason why the 380s aren't affected. Is it the difference in memory types or what? Also what kind of difference if any does the trashing have on the 380 vs 380X?

Waiting for one more wave down and buying at the bottom at 0.00538 BTC/ETH lets see how this plays out. Sold 165.0 ETH at .00676 yesterday so already pretty far up in the short game! Not a lot of doe but its been a fun pump!

I wanted to get a ether wallet but the software seemed supicious. Isn't there a normal online wallet that does not need to be downloaded?

I've used https://www.myetherwallet.com/ and bittrex as my online wallets. the only thing with myetherwallet is you need to save your Encryption key and the password for it for every wallet you create. Don't lose them or you'll have to contact support and see if they can help you out.

Bittrex might serve you better as on online wallet since it is an exchange as well in case you want to buy/sell and not just used as a deposit/payment wallet. Hope this helps.
109  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Affordable motherboard for GPU mining? on: January 25, 2016, 09:14:49 PM
I wouldn't recommend the 7990, they are good for gaming but they can not run 24/7 .... and after 2-3 weeks of mining they get burn  Undecided

Why do you say that?

I have a 7990, running stock at under 70 degree.

Should I be concerned?

Thanks!

Depends on how long you've been running and what kind of quality your PSU is. Depends on what you are mining but things like Ethereum are heavily Memory dependant and not core dependent. You shouldn't lose any hashrate by lowering your core clocks and keeping your mem clocks the same or a little higher. may save you on power usage and lifespan on the card as well.

As always keep your cards COOL. Big fans are a great to help this in open air rigs.

Big selloff just hit last hour. Did we pop or did we just blow off the  stage 1 booster rockets on the way to the moon?
111  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Bitfury: "16nm... sales to public start shortly" on: January 25, 2016, 03:20:56 PM
Not sure I will want to buy into one of these until some of the competitors release their new line of products. would like to see what kind of efficiency Bitmain can push out with their S8/S9 or whatever their going to call it. Any news on Avalon producing something in the 16nm realm? If the price is sub $1800 however is may be worth it to get it early and just get to mining if its the first to hit the market.

lol he took off right after my 46th transaction so i didn't lose really anything, but i find it funny he takes off as soon as the exchange price hits a high for the last 3 or 4 days.

Yeah I'm hoping that underclocking them a tad will help in the not burning department  Smiley But if they go I will just swap to full 7950s
114  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Affordable motherboard for GPU mining? on: January 24, 2016, 05:20:12 AM
I'm building a GPU rig the next week or so using an old AM1 socket mobo for a few weeks but will most likely be picking up a refurb'd MSI g45 from newegg to replace it. I've had that board in two different machines and never had issues. I'll be putting a Corsair RM1000 to power 2 7990's. Probably the lowest PSU wattage you wanna go if you run two 7990's I may try to get two more and power them with a 1000w HP server PSU that people have been using here to power their bitcoin miners. Look up dogie's guides he has it listed there and its pretty cheap i think $45 on amazon. So hopefully won't have any issues mining on the MSI G45 with 4 sapphire 7990's. Essentially 200 MH/s of mining power on 2000w without being full load. If you're looking for the most efficient card for your money it's gong to be the 7990. .

Look here for a spread sheet the ethereum guys have put together...That's what i'll be mining.
115  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: New Mining Calculator Featuring Multiple Currencies and Responsive Profit Chart on: January 22, 2016, 10:57:28 PM
Probably one of the best/easiest clalculators out there. I have a few suggestions though:

1) Maybe add the approximate halving date in there around mid July (very important for the last half of the year in mining).

2) Include hardware costs into the calculations.

Also, do you happen to work in the Hydro generation field? I may work for a company who's contracted with you in the past (judging from your BCHydro username).

Cheers.

Is this a scam or not? I still don't get how you "[Suspicious link removed]? What's the method?

I deposited about 4 hours ago and haven't received anything back yet. They say they're having issues due to blockchain. If I don't see something by tomorrow I'm considering scam. Doubling an investment is kinda too good to be true. Seems like a textbook ponzi but we'll see.

badlist noted this website, u double their coins...

http://www.badbitcoin.org/thebadlist/

We can't do anything about those sites that list our site as scam. They have list of thousand sites, that they think are scam,
that's a way for them to earn profit thru theyre site, adding programs just so search engins would index them and they would
get traffic. So if you want to rely of any information, then read what others are writing here on BitcoinTalk.

You guys will have my confidence as soon as I see something post and i'll make sure to show it here. Hope you guys get the kinks worked out. I'll be patient for the next day or so. Will keep the rest of you posted. As of now its been 7 hours and nothing posted to my wallet.
