Yes, you need to sign in using Google Account. The reason for this is that we don't want to deal with password resetting, which is the target of much social engineering. It sounds like it failed to sign you in using Google Accounts and you ended in some loop. Which browser and operating system were you using? Do you have javascript disabled, using an ad blocker, using Tor for Firefox or anything else out of the ordinary? About the load time (45 sec), that's very odd. Are you on a slow connection or located very far from Ireland? Some of our players play on a very slow connection in the sticks in the U.S, but never reported more than 500 ms ping. I tried restarting browsers, switching to Firefox from Safari (I'm on a Mac), and refreshing the page. Every link I clicked it would automatically take me to the Google page where it asked for permission. The games included, and the chat box wasn't working. I'm running Mac OSX 10.5.8, and my primary internet connection is relatively fast. It seems the only time it's slow is when I'm browsing sites like Wal-Mart, Best Buy, and those kind of sites. I failed to create an account, but I'll try again in a few days to see if I can replicate the errors. It might of just been a busy server or something, I'm willing to try again if you need me to. |

Even the biggest profitable section of this forum is illegal. At least for about 90% of the forum. Do you have any statements to back up why you think it isn't used for a large majority of illegal activities?

This is what I've been trying to tell everybody here! There's so much black-market things BTC are used for. This site generates millions every year, something like 7+ Million if I remember right, just in Escrow. People were saying the illegal activities used for BTC were miniscule, pshh. This is only one site, and it has as much sales if not more than this site has every day. There average produced is about 5-6 BTC, and one vendor sends out about 3-4 orders every day. Some of them even shop twice a day. It's crazy to think this is happening everywhere, with slaves, illegal guns, drugs, pretty much anything illegal because there is absolutely no paper trail.
(I haven't bought from anything from these sites, I've just browsed them)

I'm thinking of having 5-10 Computers, because my powers free I won't need to worry about the power bill. Also, does it matter what kind of computer you buy, or does it just matter about the graphics card? Would it be better to buy a Mac, or a PC?

I know of people that have preordered 4 SC MRs from BFL, which would be ~$120,000. So yes, people do have that much money to invest in BTC. As I said, wait until the summer to decide what hardware you should buy. By the time June or July comes, you will see that mining with a computer (CPU or GPU) will be completely worthless, regardless of free power or what kinds of computer it is. So you're saying computers will be useless by summer time? Some kind of super computer or mining machine is going to be created that will replace computers? I could see that happening, but as soon as summer time? It would take months and months, if not years to create it. Can Bitcoins be mined with anything that contains GPU or CPU? So say, could you mine with your phone if the right software is created? I'm not sure what you mean when you say something will replace computers. Thanks for the info |

Start doing Loans and Merchanting, that way they'll still be sitting there but your stack will be slowly increasing over time. I'd say since the amount of BTC is permanent but the deman will continue to rise, all they'll do is get more expensive, why sell them now? |

I agree. Miners need fiat for juice and hardware. Sellers of illegal good need fiat for food, clothing and shelter. It's far from obvious that a majority of bitcoin trades are for illegal goods.
There's a lot more illegal activity that Bitcoins are used for than you may think. If you explore the DeepWeb you'll see what I'm talking about. The people doing illegal activities are usually the ones making the most money, because, well, for one they're taking the most risk. They're taking advantage of risky services without the risk involved. It all comes back to the anonymity Bitcoin provides. If somebody wanted to sell 100M's worth of guns and drugs, there best option would be to use BTC, because it offers absolutely no paper trail whatsoever. |

Best practice is to do the trades in increments when you're in doubt.
So if the trade was for $100 ---> 25% at a time
Trade was for $1000 ----> 10-20% at a time
And so on until you feel you can trust the person, and you can start sending more.
