101  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Bitcredit/CRE - first sidechain, claimable from Bitcoin, pow/pod on: April 16, 2015, 04:29:32 PM
I am currently having trouble getting the program to run due to bind fail on 0.0.0.0:8333 even when I create a shortcut and specify the -listen=0 flag for it to use any port, it still tries to use 8333, also tried setting things in a bitcredit.conf file with no luck as well.

I'm not exactly an expert on the matter, But it sounds to me like your files in the appdata/roaming/bitcredit directory may be set to read only.
Check it out and see if they are, I recall having a similar issue on one of my first attempts.

Did you use the torrent blockchain method? If so please make sure you fully read and understand the post HERE.

I figured the problem out it was because I had checked out the other one named bitcredits and it was trying to hijack its directory.  Or not as while deleting the directory from the other one actually let me pick a directory detecting it was a first run, we quickly resulted back to the other issue.

Also as for the torrent question, no I did not as I already have a full bitcoin block chain and am going to use an alternate method to get the program up to speed, provided it will ever open to create the initial data folders for the blockchain since all it created before it fails to bind is the basic directory structure without the folders for the chains.

I would highly recommend using the Blockchain torrent download as seen HERE.

I tried a few experimental ways and lost a few days mining before Gabriel offered this method which works quite well.

The problem is because its refusing to try and use a port other than 8333 for bitcoin, and I already have a bitcoin client actively running which by design specs wants to use 8333.

I did have a valid Bitcoin-qt install on my computer when I installed Bitcredit but I didn't ever try to run them in unison.
This is a very interesting issue and I'm sure when Gab gets back online he can likely either advise a fix or start coding a patch for the issue.

Hang in there, i had issues in the beginning as well getting it running but Gabriel sorted it out.
I'll hook you up with 10 CRE when you get up and running for the troubles, irregardless of you not being a full member.

Up and running now.  1Pt5m2dVKjpRhmNzaic2GhGGeodNGswimd

Good to hear. Did you get the miner started as well?

Yea

I just opened mine up. It is showing that SWC is offline at the moment. Am I to assume this is right? Or am I the one having issues? There's been so many times in the past week I have seen this, I'm rather unsure right now.

I am also having this issue so your not alone.  Along with every now and then it connects claiming a non existent update is needed, compared I installed it fresh just a bit ago with the source from their site and then tried again with another fresh download just to be safe incase they had released a second update.

I am new to badeucy, why I lost this hand? I am the right side hand. My opponent has J, shouldn't I win?

1)  The short term pain here is worth the long term benefits.  We are grinding towards stability.
2)  Uninstalling has been tough for some.  This is being worked on and will be fixed soon. Here are a few tips that have been reported:

-- uninstall / reinstall to get newest version.  Auto-Update not working.
-- if there is still an "swc-msi" also in your control panel -> uninstall programs list, kill that too
-- you may need to manually delete the program files/swcpoker directory first, then go to the control panel-> uninstall list, and when you click uninstall it may say that it's already gone, and ask you to remove it from the list.  Do so.
-- some have reported success by restarting before installing the fresh one.
-- make sure you download a fresh client from --> http://swcpoker.eu/downloads/swcsetup.exe

sorry for the annoyance this time around.  The end result is a smoother, faster, more stable, better playing SwC.  And we will continue to improve it.

thanks for sticking with SwC during this initial launch period.

Did everything and the client opens, but it is not connecting to the server.

Dump hard.
Already end?

7k is not possible anymore. Keep on dreaming guys.

Take care.

Don't know where your seeing the "Dump Hard"

All I see is someone selling to themselves.

First wallet on bittrex is releasing his coin. From 600k till 400k.
So,try your conclusion.
You can pump a coin if you collect more, not if you release your bag and don't buy anymore.

No from what I saw a bit ago, the first wallet dumped most of his coins if not all, and the second wallet has now become the first wallet.  So in theory the dump should be over.

Somebody is sure trying to suck up as much as possible from the last few blocks when the hashrate has doubled in the last little bit...

The biggets wallets are obv exchanges... certainly the biggest is

As has been said many times now the wallet value images posted are from bittrex beta and are the value of coins owned by actual users within bittrex.

I am also using windows 8.1 and it works very fine here :

Which Version of 8.1?

Windows 8.1 Pro WMC 64bit  Not working.

Pagefile disabled.

Also accessing via remote - Teamviewer

Well thats something we have in common as I am on Windows 8.1 Pro 64bit with pagefile disabled as well.  My pc is also decked out with development software.  Thou I find it unlikely that having pagefile disabled would create this issue but stranger things have happened.

Any real answers for me please

Here the answer of the DEV yesterday to someone with your same problem.

UPDATE:

-DOWNLOAD NEW WINDOWS WALLET WITH BITTREX TRADING PLATFORM (with .dll included)
https://mega.co.nz/#!ZQJSxAyB!PAua3KfoOF71qm8ny7xpid2or0Twsbgs9-pzx3WeDM4

Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable Package needed:
http://www.microsoft.com/en-US/download/details.aspx?id=5555

-Tomorrow we will release more information about our roadmap, in Cypher style of course.

All that seems to happen on the trading window is it loads a dark grey bg area with no content...

-Right-click and "reload" on grey windows if you get stuck.
Have you installed microsoft visual?

Yes, same thing for me, just a grey window with no content, and none-stop dumping of this coin, I'd say this is a clear scam.

-Be sure to run on windows 7-8
-Launch .exe directly inside folder(don't copy-paste .exe elsewhere)
-Don't delete any of the .dll files included, you need them to run since is built with qtmultimedia widget.

I know all of this and didn't move anything at all.  I literally extracted to desired location and ran it only to have this problem.

-Right-click and "reload" on grey page if you get stuck.
Have you installed microsoft visual?

I already sat down with the developer yesterday and confirmed there was a problem and he was going to investigate today ideally as he had to find a windows 8.1 testbed to utilize.  Which the fact more and more people are starting to report this problem is only helping it gain traction to get investigated faster.  As something clearly is going wrong with the web wrapper being utilized to embed the website and from what I have gathered it seems to be a problem for those of us using windows 8.1, granted half the people reporting it haven't stated their OS version so I am going by the others who have.

I'm using win 8.1(fresh installation) and work properly.

So,please,go fudding somewhere else.
Format you pc and reinstall win 8.1 if you get problems.

Why are your words so fudding "something goin wrong-problems-investigated etc etc"?

Are you sherlock holmes?

Just because its working fine for you doesn't mean its not for us.  We can only assume on what the conditions are for the problem based on the information given by people which has been rather limited.

You need to stop being an idiot and let those of us who actually have a damn problem talk about it without your stupid useless comments.  As for my words used I am a developer for a living myself and as such when I encounter problems I work to figure out the source of it.

If you read the launch post you would know staking hasn't started just yet.  "PoS initiation: 50 blocks before end of PoW"

As for the trading tab there is a problem yet unidentified with the web wrapper used to load bittrex in it.  I was talking with the dev on IRC yesterday about it but since at the time i was originally the only person who had actually proved there was a problem he was working to prepare to test things today under Windows 8.1 since it was the only version of Windows he hadn't tested it on due to lack of beta testers for the new wallet.  By now several others have confirmed a problem, so now it is clearly known that it is not a problem specific to my computer setup, and as such it should gain traction for getting fixed asap.

As for the comment made about windows 3.1, I am actually using windows 8.1 so stfu.  Also have required libraries installed as I already require them because of the fact I have multiple versions of Visual Studio installed along with other development platforms.

It works for me, perhaps the stupid is you, sorry but its true.

You really should just shut up as you clearly have nothing productive to say, and as such are just trying to start shit.

Doesn't accomplish anything at all.  I also stated earlier that I have visual studio libraries that are required installed since I have multiple versions of Visual Studio installed.
