Hey guy, is it profitable? How many Riecoin are you getting per day? And how are you fighting the zombie servers? I had thought of mining this coin, but I was not brave, now I'm excited again.
Riecoin is profitable if you are not fighting the zombie servers I tried opening registrations on uBlock.it a few days ago, within hours there was already a miner running a block withholding attack. If you're interested in a profitable pool, I'd be happy to extend an invitation to our private pool, uBlock.it. It's botnet free, and the most profitable Riecoin pool available. Many members can vouch for that, as they have tried all of the pools. You can PM me for more details.

Hello this is from riecoin.conf in c:\users\YOU\appdata\roaming\riecoin
If you haven't this file, create it and add this content.
[cut]
Hello, thank you for your help. I don't even have the riecoin folder in that path, should I create it? You should have the Riecoin folder in appdata\roaming. Try browsing to it via %appdata%

Simba, Why won't you release the source for xptMiner 2.2 and help the community

I also want to say im starting to mine in riepool.ovh.
Long life Riecoin!
EDIT: I added 50k hash. Wow my efficiency is 100%, zero orphans!
Riepool's closed source miner does not submit stale shares so it's impossible to have lower than 100% efficiency.

Hi, folks - this may have been my fault, and not an attack. There are some nodes in the network that I think connect only to one of the public nodes I'm hosting, and I managed to let my public nodes break for a few hours.
(If you're curious -- my Frantech DDoS-protected one has a problem where it doesn't time-sync properly when it reboots, because the NTP packets don't get through the DDoS filtering. So it rebooted and then had an incorrect time, and started going off on its own.)
If anyone knows the Frantech ecosystem well enough to suggest how I can get NTP working on one of their DDoS-shielded nodes, I'd love to know. I'll work on it in any event and add more alerting in case it goes down again. Frantech seems to reboot it every few months.
And if you're a miner who connects only to my nodes, I'd suggest diversifying and adding some from the list ziiip posts occasionally!
That might explain it. Does frantech block your outbound NTP traffic? I would assume if they blocked it they would provide an NTP server on their net you could use. I can see how poorly configured ddos protection may interfere with the response from NTP, may have to tunnel somewhere else to a stratum 2 server that you host.

Is dev active or only appears a few times? Is there any purpose for Riecoin?
I have been noticing this questions quite a few times in this thread.... I would have appreciate as well to see development team coming in the thread to clarify the situation and take the time to update about Riecoin project Thanks in advance to address the question Dev is currently working on updating node to v14 see the following post. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=446703.msg19284141#msg19284141

I fear it's a dead project. I really think it could boom (not just in price) if this coin had all the cool features of other alt coins such as Segwit, stealth address, atomic cross-chain and eventually lightning network.
Combine that with the real world use (finding primes) and this would possibly be the best coin out there.
lol, why would this coin need segwit? So we can remove the signatures from the transactions and save precious block space? Lot's of new users spreading FUD in here. Riecoin simply needs to survive long enough for people to become comfortable with machines mining for other purposes such as content monetization, ddos protection, PoW captcha etc. Only CPU coins fit into this picture.

Still has a DEV? I do think it already dead.
gatra is the dev, he's still around.

CheckForkWarningConditions: Warning: Large valid fork found forking the chain at height 766274 (e0c80e1afb949e38486a4f7fa32fcc3d0eca3ca63eed8c5c80bb555a8fc51829) lasting to height 766284 (ad436032ce8f7930dcca84ffeee451ba2d557c9a0cb77aac4ed23486277ea148) It seems that "someone" is still trying to create network problems Ublock is on block 766333 but the chain is moving a bit more slowly. We have temporarily disabled payouts but will continue to mine on the correct chain. The last few attempts they only lost money by orphaning themselves off the network, let's ensure it stays that way. Edit: transactions to Poloniex appear to be okay and chain is running smoothly.

About this coin... we have to start worrying about the exchange value on Poloniex? I think it's the lowest since the beginning of the market Have you seen some of the other alts RIC price was under a cent at the beginning of the year, now sitting around 4 cents.

I don't think any of my posts have been deleted, but I've never really checked. Are you sure it was deleted or did the hacker delete it?
Edit: nvm, just had some posts from a few weeks ago deleted because they were "off-topic"

is the a masternode option for this coin?
No, only mining.

This coin still getting crazy DDOS attacks... Every time I use the wallet for more than a few hours I get hit.
Use the connect= parameter and only connect to a few nodes. Make sure you don't end up on the node list. Add the following to your riecoin.conf connect=51.255.207.142 connect=37.59.143.10 connect=217.182.76.201 connect=46.105.29.136 connect=5.9.39.9 The above nodes should not get your IP listed on https://chainz.cryptoid.info/ric/#!networkIf your IP ends up on that list you may get ddos As long as you use the connect param your node will not attempt to connect to any other nodes.

How do you mine this algo?
The algo is primesr ... The fastest miner currently is dga's miner ... The most powerful miner is xptMiner 2.2, you've also tested it While the share-rate reported by xptMiner 2.2 is slightly higher than dga's miner, we are not able to validate the results or confirm there are not viruses contained within the miner because it's closed source. Use this miner at your own risk.

How do you mine this algo?
The algo is primesr You can join a pool and mine. The fastest miner currently is dga's miner, the stratum branch can be found here https://github.com/dave-andersen/fastrie/tree/stratumIf you want to mine solo the best option is to compile a stratum server yourself as most of the recent miner development has been for stratum.

Everything appears okay now. Sent some coins to Poloniex without any issue. Seems the RIC network is more robust that it used to be What may have happened? Some nodes and even blockchains showed an error message due to some miners I think RLGzidMRkhfqEWjUY8fVxmgLS7HCdogXYN may have attempted fork If you'll notice they did not solve any blocks between 760085 and 760121. The block explorer hung at block 760086, doesn't seem like a coincidence to me At least Riecoin is at a point where it can better deal with these types of attacks

Maybe the Solo miner user trying withholding blocks...... Unsure, it appears that uBlock, Riepool and Poloniex are at the same height and some new blocks being mined but very slowly. Vast majority of nodes i'm connected to are at correct height.

No problems at Poloniex, can deposit and withdraw just fine.
