Where can a find a stratum server for solo mining this algorithm Huh

Currently the mining network of Sia is about 250-300TH/s. Unless you are the owner of a huge GPU farm, your chances of finding a block solo-mining are minimal.

There are 5 big mining pools in Sia, each one with different payout schemes, fees and other variables. Take a look at them: https://siastats.info/pools_list.html. For instance, both Siamining, Luxor and F2pool are PPS, what means you'll get payouts even if the pools does not find blocks. Luxor has a very low fee of 0.3% that is paid as a donation to Sia developers.

Where can a find a stratum server for solo mining this algorithm Huh
Sia now can mine with ASIC, so I dont think that solo mining is profitable at the moment anymore.

ASICs (Obelisk SC1) are not yet released. They are expected to ship on June of next year or earlier if the manufacturing is accomplished sooner. But there is still time for GPU mining.

I do have a large GPU farm, all of my miners are behind a stratum proxy but i would prefer to solo mine vs pool mine as it's more profitable. I also have several Obelisk SC1's on order from the first week.

Is there a stratum server available for this coin/algo Huh I would be shocked if there was not considering the size of this project. Siacoin may be the only 100 million + market cap coin without a publicly available stratum server if true. Very sad Roll Eyes

This is really good news from xpoolx. Good to see other pools are following suit and helping to eliminate the selfish mining issues that have plagued this network for years.

Solo miner appears to be releasing blocks between 5 and 10 minutes late, not to mention he has nearly 70% of the network hashrate.
This is not good for the network as the risk of mining orphans has greatly increased.
Real difficulty should be reflected much higher as solo miner has to sometimes waste work to do this Undecided

Edit: looks to be more stable now

Can anyone in a nutshell explain why the price exploded and is it still worth buying or should I rather wait?

My advice would be to keep an eye on the blockchain for large transfers to known exchanges and keep an eye on AEX.com which appears to have added a RIC/BTC pair around the same time the pump started.

I have not tested AEX.com so I have no idea if they are legit.

You are right too

I am actually able to mine approx 2-3 blocks each week with just 1 cpu and I find that getting directly the 50 RIC reward to the wallet is somewhat gratifying, instead of just working for a pool and getting paid. Then I can say more easily: "Yeaaah, I am the one who found this prime cluster"!  So I would really like to be able to do pure and efficient solomining easily, but I am not a programmer.
Yeah, there is Xpoolx but we must anyway use the pool so this is not independent mining.

I found 58 blocks but earned only 695 RIC instead of 2900 RIC on Riepool. Although I really don't mind about profit (I mine mostly for fun and just use the unused resources of my main computer), this shows that solo mining is also more profitable than pooled.
If someone could adapt Xptminer so it supports solomining, I would really be grateful.

Yeah you haven't tried uBlock.it yet, other members can vouch that it's far more profitable than any other pool. PM me for invite if you'd like to try it out  Cool

Funding or not, he could just take a little time to copy and adapt the Xptminer code into the wallet to allow easy efficient solo mining and include current nodes in the code so we don't have find them manually, then release a public official executable on sourceforge...

Someone who installs the wallet, then sees that it is not syncing at all will likely just think that the software is crap and so is the Riecoin project.
And when you see that there were no updates since so long, it questions the viability of the project... Why use/mine Riecoin if it is virtually abandoned by the founder?
This project makes sense only if more people are getting interested, increasing the difficulty and the odds of finding interesting new properties. More interested devs trying to find new algorithms for the miner. Else we would continue to mine at constant difficulties with the wheel factorization and find just a bunch of sextuplets...

I agree that we need an updated node with working seed nodes and some improvements from the newer codebase.

However, i don't think having xptminer built into the wallet implementation would help all that much as it's easy to mine riecoin with the many pools available.
In recent months the Riecoin network has become far more robust that it used to be.

There is a torrent of the chainstate to block 760089 if anyone doesn't feel like waiting for the sync

Riecoin halvening is coming up soon, i would expect a price rise before or after halvening

Also for those of you complaining about an old wallet. The dev is still around but this is a non-profit project aimed at finding interesting prime number constellations.

The Riecoin project doesn't get any funding other than donations. Please have some respect for the project as it has generated some interesting data for the scientific community over the years.
cheers

When was RIC added to AEX.com exchange?  Not sure if this is a legit exchange.

Hi pallas, the code was completely revisited. No old bug but if users can test it is the best thing.
At moment I don't release the source until the miner is tested hard and all is good.

Hi Simba,
Are you going back on your promise to release the source code for your miner??
Please, let us know when the amazing code is ready for release . . .assuming you've had time to test it by now . . . .
Also please don't tell me your GPU code will be closed source as well Shocked I'll conclude you have no care for the community if that's the case Roll Eyes

AHAHAH this is beautiful! If I had all that power I used to use to make you more coins Huh?? ahahhaha mah!

You have to know that to accuse someone serving the tests, so good luck if you are looking for RiePool.......

Goodbye noob!

It does not generate more coins if blocks are withheld, please educate yourself on selfish mining. It only serves to hurt the pool and it's users.
For each block solved, he unfairly earns more coins, for this penalizes all other users.

yes, and the pool itself obviously  Roll Eyes no one said that the user account being exploited to launch the attack was at fault. It's also curious that the attacker only tried one worker account/password and guessed it on first try. Wonder who knew about that worker name and password  Huh

I think someone is not happy with any of the pools seen the ongoing DDoS attacks that have been going on for years and the amount of SOLO miners who are gravitating on this coin. Sin!

People are moving to solo pools and private pools because block withholding attacks are not possible and they earn more rewards, all very simple  Cool
96  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][RIC] Riecoin: constellations POW *CPU* HARD FORK successful, world record on: November 15, 2017, 04:03:03 PM

I do not think I understand well... But then does he create problems with the botnet???

very simple. if botnet miner can learn a worker login they will submit block withholding attack using that worker login. This only servers to hurt the pool, even though one user will be receiving extra rewards due to the high volume of shares.

Basically someone is not happy with uBlock.it it appears  Roll Eyes
97  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][RIC] Riecoin: constellations POW *CPU* HARD FORK successful, world record on: November 15, 2017, 03:58:32 PM
On RiePool you had connect only 15-20 machines so you are also a liar if you think to compare between the 2 pools  Shocked

And 1 core on hundreds of computers.... ahahhaha

ziiip check your pool. Isn't possible to switch from a hashrate of 600 MH/s to 3500 MH/s and vice versa in 1 minute. It's obvious that something does not work as it should in your pool.

No botnet on RiePool. We have a few miners connected in this period. I might think the same thing about uBlock in the last few days

edit: 3500 MH/s right now on uBlock.

botnet miner has discovered redjedievolution's worker password on one worker because his account was not anonymous and mining on his account. This only serves to steal work from other users, though the blocks themselves are likely solved by redjedievolution. This has reduced our liquid assets by a significant margin in a short period of time.

Anyone knows what are these addresses that mine 1 block and dissapear?

They dont send money to any exchange, only mine 1 block and no more

I've been wondering this myself, wonder how long they will accumulate RIC before selling?
99  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][RIC] Riecoin: constellations POW *CPU* HARD FORK successful, world record on: November 15, 2017, 03:40:03 PM
yes, im using hundreds of computers, but only 1 core on each one

redjedi could you tell me what are you mining to have a hashrate so high? These network difficulties require hundreds of top level computers to use for your performance.

If it wasn't then there is something that does not work as it should on uBlock.

Riepool should investigate the very high hashrate miners on their pool, they are likely withholding blocks and stealing profits from legitimate users. This is why uBlock.it is a private pool, to eliminate this issue all together.
100  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][RIC] Riecoin: constellations POW *CPU* HARD FORK successful, world record on: November 15, 2017, 03:30:55 PM
The reported hashrate may appear higher on uBlock.it because we changed the hashrate modifier to make RIC/day estimations more accurate.

There is really no good way to calculate hashrate on Riecoin. Only share rate reflected at pool should be used for comparisons. Just for arguments sake, we can change the hashrate modifier to match Riepools, the payouts will still be the same
