101  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Next 100x on: April 15, 2017, 10:41:02 AM
The price is slooowly rising... if you have ever wanted to get in on the ground floor for 100x gains this is it.

What are the reasons for such gains?  Smiley

ChainCoin is the original multi-hash algo coin and it was dormant for quite a while until recently the dev has become activate again. The network never died and it has been traded actively all these years.

If the market cap is 100 million dollars, it will be very hard to even double that. But if all the tokens of a coin are worth only 25 BTC total as is the case currently with ChainCoin, even a small buy pressure will propel it 10x easy. As always, nothing is a 100% sure bet, but 50x to 100x gains from here are certainly possible.

As predited, a very small buy pressure already 6x'd the price:

With such a low liquidity at these low prices it might be better to wait for a pullback with a buy order rather than try to chase it. But then again that boat might have already sailed and FOMO is imminent.

105  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [Re-ANN] iCoin - Democratic Coin Under New Management on: April 12, 2017, 10:08:08 PM
It looks like our community's old website has been replaced and a new altcoin has began using the iCoin name.
    What are your thoughts?

My thoughts are that iCoin is an amazing name. The new project should've done their research and realize the original has already existed for many years. They will be gone soon enough though and iCoin will remain.
106  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Be careful - pump season new scam coins on: April 12, 2017, 07:30:35 PM
Be careful - it's start pump season new scam coins

107  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [Re-ANN] iCoin - Democratic Coin Under New Management on: April 11, 2017, 10:08:13 PM
On first glance, iCoin looks like a descendant of Litecoin v0.6.3 and we could probably modernize the client by including the upstream improvements.

Can't be of any help in the coding department sadly. Sad

But getting up to date with the latest Litecoin codebase which in turn is as far as I understand it branched from Bitcoin sounds like a good plan. That would allow merging latest Bitcoin innovations such as SegWit and enable Lightning Networks development.

thinking about it JC left at just the wrong moment.... this coin with the incentive nodes would have had a HUGE pump and a lot of incoming interest in this latest wave.

Big mistake bailing when he did.

The community should have welcomed a development fund tax that he suggested.

He probably just simply finally realized after being told multiple times his designs can't be fixed.
109  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Litecoin will soon be available on CoinBase nationwide. on: April 09, 2017, 12:49:27 AM
I have heard this before in the past, and it never happened. Is there a news release somewhere that says it?

110  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Buy Litecoin Inmediately. on: April 05, 2017, 10:04:12 PM
I've wondered (and asked) before why Litecoin would need SegWit, but never got an answer. For Bitcoin I get it: blocks are full, and transactions are slow and expensive. Current blocks have reached their limit.
Litecoin doesn't have any of these problems.

I've only found this on Reddit:
Quote
And segwit opens the door to the Lightning Network + a ton of devs building on top of it. Pretty huge.
-- rw-stott
Is this really worth the hype?

Bitcoin holders have no reason to diversify to Litecoin without SegWit+LN because that can't solve the scaling either (4x the capacity is not solving the scaling). Without scaling solution Litecoin is useless. Without Bitcoin holders diversifying to Litecoin there won't be huge price surge. Litecoin miners need to demonstrate to investors and developers that they are agile and willing to progress so those frustrated with Bitcoin stalemate can move forward.

Speculation:
  • Bitcoin will stay as it is, an immutable blockchain with high fees unable to scale to daily use
  • Litecoin will have LN
  • Litecoin will have Mimblewimble
  • => LTC = 0.25 BTC

If we assume LTC will 25x against BTC, then if you diversify 4% of your current BTC holdings to LTC you have doubled your total BTC amount when that happens.
111  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Miner cartel, Bankster cartel, or an altcoin? Your choice? on: March 30, 2017, 07:56:47 PM
one satoshi of newly generated (post-fork) coinbase value is sufficient to poison any amount of pre-fork coins from being valid on the other chain. And once that transaction is made, all the resultant output is available for poisoning more pre-fork value.

How many years it would take to poison all unspent outputs in the small-block chain that is already full of transactions with fees?
112  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: March 25, 2017, 03:53:22 PM
Anyone can already use Monero for what it's meant for, anonymous transactions. It has high enough market cap for that. You could say that Monero has already achieved its purpose. Monero has succeeded.

Buy Monero, send anon tx, receiver sells Monero. It works. It does what it is supposed to do. What else could you wish for?

There are better coins for store of value.
113  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Why BitBay will reach a $30 Million Market Cap by the end of 2017 on: March 23, 2017, 02:12:46 PM
there is so much spam about this coin, specially even since it started getting pumped. and this is really bad and makes the coin look bad. generally i stay away from any coin that does this.

but then again i go and read more about this coin and its features, and to be honest it seems pretty interesting. i say it has good potential of growth.

Yeah newbies getting overly excited. You don't see the veterans of the thread spouting hype, they know what they've got and are in no hurry it seems.
114  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Exclusive Coin EXCL - MasterNodes, ProofOfStake, 3 years old! on: March 23, 2017, 02:10:26 PM
People grabbing masternodes left and right.

Btw, since EXCL is proof-of-stake, i.e. no miners, is it possible to also stake with the masternode collateral? Or is it either staking or running a masternode?
115  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: March 20, 2017, 08:12:58 PM
This man speaks the truth. Just keep on listening to Fulffy and Icebreaker and Smooth and Generalthis and who else if you want to keep on losing money. Their track record so far certainly indicates that.

Good point. I lost so much money last year on Monero's 30x price increase  Roll Eyes

Well your very own Pony told you not to buy Monero, so...
116  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Changelly.com - instant exchange. VISA/Mastercard accepted. on: March 20, 2017, 08:05:16 PM
Lately you guys are offering the worst service around, i have a pending transaction since 5 hours ago, becuase of your shit service i lost till now 3 cents per coin, so when are you gonna FUCKING FIX THIS ISSUE!

If you not able to provide a decent service then do not offer it!!!!!!

First I was ecstatic to see Shapeshift getting some competition but until they get their act together I'll pass. And I reckon a lot of others will too. These reports are not looking good.
117  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: March 20, 2017, 08:00:30 PM
And many many people lost a fuckload of money because fluffy was telling everybody how bad dash is, right before it sprung x10. These people shorted dash because they beliefed fluffy, and lost all, these shorters are the ones which made the dash price rise exponential bigger than it would have been without the shorting. And they shorted because dash is so bad and its just a pump and dump scam coin and so on, at least everybody told them so - for them 20 dollar a dash was hardly overpriced, look where dash is now.

If you ask for who was scammed by dash, you won't find one (at least noone who was buying in the last 3 years), because price went from ath to ath, there could no one be scammed per definition, because noone could have lost with ath after ath. (for me a scam is if someone loses money! - ofc thats my definition, but its true!). On the other hand lots and lots of people lost money because they shorted dash after all that "its a total scam coin" definition from fluffy and his friends with all these cool videos...

This man speaks the truth. Just keep on listening to Fulffy and Icebreaker and Smooth and Generalthis and who else if you want to keep on losing money. Their track record so far certainly indicates that.

there are problem with qtum...i'm not so sure that they are 100%legit.
Qtum topic is full of scam alert

I think Qtum is a scam Grin Grin Grin

They have a proven scammer in their team and they know it, yet choose to continue with him - which raises all kinds of questions. I just hope they don't have anything to do with Skycoin.
119  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The danger I see with Dash on: March 12, 2017, 05:22:58 PM
Dash is the most fudded coin in the history of cryptocurrencies. Yet those who had the vision to hold all these years despite the massive fudding are now rich. Deal with it. No amount of fudding will do a damn thing. You're all free to spend your energy however you wish though, and I know being angry is an endless source of energy. The only thing that could make Dash crash and burn is if a massive flaw would be found, even a flaw in the anonymity wouldn't matter much if at all, it would have to be something akin to the InstantX or the whole network being stalled beyond repair.

Actually Bitcoin is the most FUDded coin in cryptocurrencies, and most of dash's criticisms are well earned technical issues, so do not count as FUD, just plain old criticism.

Actually most of Dash's criticism is about the alleged distribution and what bad things that might cause i.e. FUD.
