I dont see the escrow address or the escrow agreement, sorry if i missed it

A PDF version of the escrow details can be found here:

    https://janustoken.com/Janus/assets/JanusEscrowDetails.pdf

A supporting/corroborating statement from Nxt Foundation member "evildave" can be found here:

    https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1677509.msg16845748#msg16845748

Please note that our Bitcoin escrow funds are stored using a highly secure, multi-sig BitGo.com wallet. Under their system, there is a wallet master address under which new addresses are created on demand. The result of this is that the main wallet address doesn't show a balance since all funds are deposited to dynamically created, user-specific addresses. If you desire verification of this fact please let us know and we'll get evildave from the Nxt Foundation to verify this setup and the fact that the Nxt Foundation controls the funds deposited.

I can vouch for the team behind this ICO.

I have done a significant amount of business with both Lobos and Bjorn both personally and through MoneyPot (primarily in form of stakes of BetterBets and freelance development). Combined, adds to nearly 200 BTC of value, and the experience has never been anything but excellent.

Looking forward to watching Janus develop further.

Thank you for your kind words. We've always prided ourselves of being men of our word and we intend to continue to be so. We appreciate the business relationship we have established with you and hope that you and other BetterBets stakeholders will join us on our journey with Janus. We're excited for what the future holds ...

So this is a stock coin? That is my understanding, the token Janus doesn't need to be adopted to profit off the main company. So what does the company do?

We have built platform software that allows  use for multiple sites to take our businesses from concept and research, into the traditional global industries highlighted in the Janus whitepaper here: https://www.janustoken.com//Janus/assets/JanusWhitepaper.pdf

Our work and revenue will come from outside of the blockchain space so that the potential for business success is not limited by a relative small number of users. It should be noted that we do love the technology behind Satoshi's work. This is why we've built a business here and using the Nxt client to deliver back to those who see early on the value of Janus. Our first blockchain business has generated 48,140,000 USD in Bitcoin volume within the past 17 months thus far, and still operating today. This is fantastic, but consider that there are only a few million people using Bitcoin and our team achieved this. This is why it's essential for us to tap into markets where one billion or more potential users and customers are available and Janus has no 'tech adoption' necessary to succeed in traditional mainstream industry.

So this is a stock coin? That is my understanding, the token Janus doesn't need to be adopted to profit off the main company.

This is entirely correct; as a matter of fact there is no plan for the adoption of Janus token for everyday business usage.

Janus Tokens will receive value through the profit potential of holding them. Token holders will participate in our profit sharing plan (for details, please see our website or the OP) on a quarterly basis. As such we don't expect Janus tokens to be a heavily day-traded coin but we do expect that price will appreciate significantly once our project sharing plan starts to deliver returns.

So what does the company do?

I would refer you to our whitepaper ( https://janustoken.com//Janus/assets/JanusWhitepaper.pdf ) which contains a lot of details concerning our project. The short summary is that we have identified a number of areas which we believe offer very good chances of success. For the sake of this project, 'success' can be defined as either the generation of organic revenue or the sale of (sub)projects to interested/established players. With the current valuations of startup companies, even getting a single project to a point where it has enough traction to warrant a sale would raise enough money to instantly ROI all token sale holders and generate returns in excess of a simple ROI.

Please read our whitepaper as it details the markets we intend to target and the steps we will take to ensure that projects which don't reach our goals of at least minimum success won't draw on the funds collected by the token sale.

We believe that we have exciting plans and a team which can execute on them; it is up to investors to decide if they believe our vision and abilities. We are not a tech play because from our perspective tech plays depend on adoption and most of them have not delivered the returns expected (if they have delivered any returns at all beyond an initial pump and dump). As such, our target is the mass-market outside of the crypto community where we believe returns can be generated which have the potential to exceed anything cryptocurrencies other than Bitcoin have returned.

Seeing this "As such, our target is the mass-market outside of the crypto community where we believe returns can be generated which have the potential to exceed anything cryptocurrencies other than Bitcoin have returned." I have to ask do you plan on a stock on the exchange, if so will Token holders have any preference on stock?

At this point in time, we have no plans to pursue a listing on a stock exchange; the process of getting an exchange listing is a huge draw on resources (financial, people, man-hours, etc) and really only worth it if you are a large, reasonably established company. We do not think it will pertain to us in the foreseeable future.

Yesterday I saw 13 days left, but now 47 days left, so you make 1 month longer? Yeah, correct choice, so our janus tokens in TVE will be more valuable cus we will raise much more money in 1 month longer

The original time was 52 days.  Nothing has changed.  It was probably a web brouwser issue (javascript).

I've added a <noscript> tag to the homepage; if you don't have Javascript enabled you'll now get an alert that our site won't work properly without Javascript. Hopefully this will avoid future confusion.

in the description you have said that there are 50 years of experience, but not specified what specific projects, can you tell us about it in detail?

It's 50 years between the three of us. I have studied computer science and have been a professional developer for 25 years. I have worked on enterprise grade projects, on open source projects and lots of custom projects for small and medium sized businesses.

Rather than post them here, I will add relevant projects to my LinkedIn profile (see link on the OP under my name/image) so that it's in a centralized location. You can get a summary of my professional experience on my LinkedIn profile and also see some recommendations past collegues have posted about me.

I'll reply to this post once I have filled in specific past projects on my LinkedIn profile.

I've been sidetracked by something else which is sort of urgent, I will take care of this tomorrow. Sorry for the delay ...

You are ready to confirm the above?
Understand correctly, but linkedin, possible to specify an any information.
But whether it will be true?
Concretely in the crypto community, you only project: BetterBets.io?

Yes, I am confirming the above.

I understand I would be able to write all sorts of things into my LinkedIn profile but:

1) I have not done that. You will note that my profile is realistic and lacks hyperbole about me being a tech-genius.
2) I have recommendations about my work which go back to 2008/2009 (ie: they were placed on my profile in 2008/2009). It would be quite an elaborate scam to have planned this 8 years in advance.

As I have stated above, I have been in software professionally for 25 years; no matter what happens with this token sale, I intend to emerge with my reputation intact.

You are correct, the only project in Crypto I was involved in was BetterBets.io (I was/am the main dev). I'd also like to point out that my crypto experience is secondary as the Janus project is not a tech-play in the sense that it does not aim to develop new crypto/blockchain technology. We are a business based project which targets markets outside of crypto. I will openly admit that I am not a blockchain expert and that I only know Bitcoin tech at a level high enough to have a general understanding how it works; for the work I am doing this has been enough. I don't claim to be an expert at the inner workings/details of Bitcoin and various Altcoins and will not claim to be an expert until have have had reason to spend the time to make myself intimately knowledgeable with the algorithmic details involved.

Hi, I'm the software dev for the Janus project. We tried to follow this thread using google translate (none of us speak Russian) and managed to get the gist of this post. I'm not sure how appropriate it is for me to write on this thread in English (no offense is intended), but I would like to clarify a few things.

I would like to point out that the OP of this thread is woefully incomplete and does not convey the scope of our project properly. We have put a lot of work into getting this project launched and it is unfortunate that we have been unable to communicate the full scope of our project to the Russian speaking crypto community. While we work on getting this resolved and get a proper OP onto this thread, we would invite you to browse our website ( https://janustoken.com/ ) and to read our English OP  ( https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1677509.0 ) which contains the full info.

In addition to this, please check out our whitepaper ( https://janustoken.com//Janus/assets/JanusWhitepaper.pdf ) which has much detailed information on our plans.

I'd like to reiterate that we will try to get the OP on this thread completed so that you have access to the proper and full information about our project. Until then, you are welcome to reach out to us here or on our main/English thread.

If there are any questions you want answered please throw them through google translate and we will try our best to establish a dialogue.

Kind Regards
Lobos/Robert

So from 'Concept Development' to commencement of 'Software Development' takes 1 whole year, and then another 6+ months before any projects are launched??
Definitely one for the totally passive and patient investor, who does not worry about becoming totally irrelevant, methinks.  Undecided
Good luck.

Hello Stereotype,

The timeline starts January 2016, this was to detail the past 10 months prior to our launch. After the sale ends December 31st (or earlier if it caps), tokens are sent out then our team moves towards launching the business sites since the market research, conceptual design, and most payment models are already finished. If you get the chance and time read the whitepaper, the micro framework we are using gives us speed and mobility to move quickly so we can get to the fun part of marketing, user acquisition, and retention. Feel free to join us in slack if you need more clarity on time frames.
OK, will have a closer look.

Can you detail the market research you carried out, here?

Excellent!

The report is too long for a post on forums I'll get a public version with summary of highlights to you. In the past we were more open with our private research and marketing data, in some cases it lead to many issues of being 'borrowed' by other entities in this space. We love open forum, but with Janus our ROI goals demand we be diligent on first mover status with every business site launched. Great questions and I appreciate it.

Really good questions.

And really good responses by the team.

Thank you. We're happy to answer all pertinent questions and provide deeper insight into our plans; we will however not go into full details on such explanations because we wait to retain any competitive advantage we can get.

But any clarifications you may desire: just ask ...

I been following your group for awhile and I see you're good at brand building. How will you overcome if one of the sites launched doesn't do well?

While of want (of course) every site we launch to be a hit/success, the reality of the situation is that it is extremely difficult to predict the markets' reaction to a newly launched site/service/product and as such, we don't expect every site we launch to be an major success; having such expectations would be unrealistic. This is one of the reasons why we plan to target multiple markets; we don't believe in putting all our eggs in one basket (so to speak) and we believe that chance of landing a significant success is higher if we target multiple markets. Given the business model we are pursuing, one site becoming a major success should be enough to distribute significant profits to token holders, with future profits providing additional profits for token holders.

If you read our whitepaper, you will see that we don't plan on pouring money into unsuccessful projects. Projects are expected to carry their own weight (financially speaking) within 6 months of being launched; if that is not the case we will investigate whether we can pivot the service into a direction which will make it successful. If this is not the case, we will not invest more money into it but will rather attempt to have the project 'glide' along to give it time to grow without additional investment. If this fails, we will probably retire the project rather than pour additional money into it; there is no purpose to pursue projects which are not accepted by the market to a degree which gives them a perspective for long-term success.

We have stated this in our whitepaper, but it makes sense to repeat this here: we plan to run our operations in a frugal manner. We will not waste money on company cars, offices, company parties or any other sort of that type of nonsense (I have personally worked for companies which spent lots of money on such things and, to put it politely, simply don't think this is a productive use of funds). We intend to make any funds we raise last as long as possible in order to allow us to launch and nurture as many projects as possible.

If you sell a business or in talks to sell how soon can we get knowledge of a business sale? I'm not day trading but a big sale would have big impact on janus token price. Can investors in the token sale get info first since we backing your team financial?

We will have to define some sort of policy for that. Please see our whitepaper for details on how we plan to have token holders participate in the company decision making progress. It makes sense for this being a two-way street but at the same time we want to be careful not to engage in blatant market manipulation. The other side of the coin is that until a contract is signed, everything is up in the air and can change at a moment's notice so we have to be very careful here. The truth is that we don't expect Janus tokens to widely traded but rather to be held as a vehicle for holders to receive profit payouts; the market will decide what the proper environment for Janus tokens is, but our intent is to have Janus tokens in the hands of long-term holders who believe in our mission and our ability to execute on our plans. Token holders are of course free to do with their tokens as they wish, but given the nature of Janus tokens and the value they represent, our conviction is that this will not be a heavily day-traded coin/token.

Where will the company be located?

This has not definitely been decided yet ... we intend to found the company in a tax-friendly location and are investigating a number of options. We also have some ideas to make sub-company acquisition attractive but this will be revealed when the policy is set/finalized.

What is the price per one token?

The price per token is not set yet. 97,000,000 (97 Million) tokens are for sale and will be sold. The number of tokens you get per BTC thus depends on the amount of BTC raised, it's simple math.

Finished the whitepaper it's a nice one and gave me a break from running complex callculations.
I'm not a big day trader anymore and looking for something with big yearly potential like Janus.  I know you can't make any promises on amounts but can you give me some kind of projected time when first profit sharing would happen?  when will Janus migrate to Ardor?

We are aiming to finish product development of our first project end of Q1 or early Q2 of 2017. So with a bit of luck, first profit sharing would occur in Q2 2017.

I think it is important to remain realistic with such things: even the best product needs some ramp-up time to grow and gain a foothold in the market. So while we believe in our plans, it would be unrealistic to promise huge returns right away. We will make our products and market share grow, but it will take time to generate meaningful returns. Janus is a long-term project with (in our opinion) huge potential but it won't happen overnight.

Looks interesting, a few questions:

1. is there any threshold for kick start the project? And an upper limit?

We did not define a lower limit. If we end up raising an utterly insignificant amount, we may chose to refund it but this will be decided at the end of the token sale.

The upper limit in terms of funding is 7000 BTC and in terms of time it's 2016-12-31 23:59:59 ... so at the very latest, the token sale closes at the start of the new year, CET (central european time).

2. social campaign is in TVE, best choice there, easy to manage the campaign and eliminate the spammers there, but now there are more and more spammers there.

We're aware of this issue and will try to deal with it intelligently.

3. Asset on ardor, escrowed by nxt community, do you accpet nxt and ardor investment? Or only btc payment? OP is too long I didn't read a lot.

We accept BTC and NXT. NXT is converted to a BTC value (note: only the 'value' is converted though basic mathematics, all NXT received will be held as NXT for now) based upon the price of the latest NXT transaction on Poloniex at midnight (CET) each day.

We understand that everybody is busy and that time is precious but if you have any interest in our project at all, we would encourage you to read our whitepaper. It details our plans, backgrounds, experience and lots of other relevant information which will help you decide if our project is of interest to you.
