Some things stop being an accusation when the person in question admits to it... And there is plenty of stuff that sorsis has done (and claimed) that would really not fit into the narrative of this casino being a community friendly one that would take care of everyone

So, has anyone heard or seen anything from Sorsis or anyone official from Betnomi since this fiasco started? I've searched through all of their official social media channels, but there isn't a single word about this anywhere.
I even reached out to the official contact of his other company, Nomi Labs (https://www.nomi-labs.com/), but unfortunately, I haven't received any response yet.
1002  Economy / Gambling / Re: FreeBitco.in is no longer a KYC free casino! (New terms) on: July 28, 2023, 08:16:21 PM
Thanks for the heads up on the changes at FreeBitco.in. It's essential for users to stay informed about such shifts, especially with the increasing importance of KYC requirements in the crypto space. It's a bummer for many who cherished the non-KYC approach of FreeBitco.in, but it's all part of the evolving landscape, I suppose.

Before commenting in the thread, kindly take a moment to read the previous replies, particularly the one from TheQuin (it's just a few posts above). FreeBitco.in is still maintaining its non-KYC approach, and for regular users, nothing has really changed.

I'm trying to made bitcoin not only for nerds.

One example of a bitcoin JS library terms and conditions of use, that is already used by many that don't understand it:

Sorry to say, but that's a stupid argument. Find me a single piece of open source software or license that doesn't include a "NO WARRANTY" clause. Even if you choose not to use the open source BitcoinJS-lib, you'll still be using a web browser and its underlying JS engine. Have you bothered checking what their licenses say?

Any ETA on the launch?

thats a good idea. this wednesday. give or take a day.

Are we there yet?

I did mention earlier that setting a timer to count down to the launch moment would have been a great idea! It would have motivated you to avoid messing up the launch window.  Cheesy

Guys, with all due respect, there is no point in raising a flag and opening a scam accusation for a website that is gone forever.
Nobody to warn for. It's only an hour wasted of my life and another bitter moment of having to live through the situation again.

I can understand your frustration, but I have to disagree. While the website may be gone for now, raising a flag and sharing your experience with others can still serve a purpose. By doing so, you can potentially prevent others from falling victim to scam in case the casino ever comes back and resumes business. Right now, we still don't know if the site's outage is just temporary or if they have indeed closed their doors for good. As you can see from the previous comments, their other domain is still active. So, we'll have to wait and see how the situation unfolds.
1006  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: It's on! 2024 US Presidential Election Biden+Harris Vs Trump Bitcoin betting.... on: July 28, 2023, 06:54:30 PM
There is a rumor that might pump Robert Kennedy Jr.'s chance to be nominated as the presidential candidate. However, this rumor is bad news for Biden's campaign in the Democratic national convention hehe.

According to some news sources in social media, Bank of America, JPMorgan and other banks have submitted reports that made allegations on president Biden's family of committing tax fraud, moneylaundering and other financial crimes.

This is what Republican Congressman James Comer said in an interview on Fox News, but The Washington Post's Fact Checker article tells a different story:
The misleading claim that bank reports show Hunter Biden ‘committed serious crimes’

Quote
Comer may soon be in a significant position of power. But he needs to get his facts straight. Even if as many as 150 SARs were filed concerning Hunter Biden’s business dealings — a number that remains unconfirmed — that does not mean that he committed “serious crimes” or that banks were “pretty confident” that a serious crime was committed. Instead, these reports are merely tips that something may be suspicious — raw intelligence that still needs to be vetted, confirmed and possibly investigated.

Comer earns Three Pinocchios.

1007  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling experience using loan money on: July 28, 2023, 04:20:27 PM
I saw many high rank users here that asking for loan and directly deposit the loan amount on gambling account. I want to know what's the experience on using loan money. Is there additional pressure on gameplay or just the same using regular money without an interest rate.

What if they use the borrowed money to participate in some wagering competitions or take advantage of current promotions like rakeback and boosted odds? I mean, I know there's no sure thing in betting, and their money is still at risk, but this way they at least increase their chances of paying back the loan and still making a profit.

I haven't personally engaged in this, but I assume there are people out there who methodically hunt for such opportunities. Betting can be quite the game for those seeking strategic advantage and potential profits.
1008  Economy / Gambling / Re: 🦊 Betnomi.com | Sportsbook & Casino 🎲⚽ on: July 28, 2023, 04:00:04 PM
@logfiles, @FatFork, Betnomi.bet is also owned by the same team of Betnomi.com. The administrators had moved the old database of Betnomi to Betnomi.bet when they upgraded their website in 2021. We have already discussed about it on the other thread.

Thank you both for the clarification. I seem to have completely forgotten about their old domain since I haven't used Betnomi in a really long time. (Honestly, I don't remember ever accessing the betnomi.bet domain before.)

I can confirm that there haven't been any official updates from their staff on the official Telegram channel. I thoroughly checked all the messages, dating back a month or so, starting from when the withdrawal problems began All I found were a few sockpuppets trying to "guarantee" that everything will be fine. No real word from the actual team.

1010  Economy / Gambling / Re: 🦊 Betnomi.com | Sportsbook & Casino 🎲⚽ on: July 28, 2023, 03:04:07 PM
One of the reps there discovers a new weird domain...lol
<cut>

I have no idea what's going on with Betnomi and their main domain "betnomi.com", but I decided to check out the new domain mentioned on Casino Guru just to see if it's genuinely related to the casino or if it's a phishing site. Interestingly, I found that my old login credentials also work on the "betnomi.bet" domain. I realize I might have compromised my password, but it's not a big deal since it's just a throwaway account, and I don't plan on using the Betnomi casino anyway.

So, it seems like the new site is either legit and officially connected to Betnomi casino, or it's created by someone who got their hands on the database from the old domain. Either way, it's kinda fishy!

1012  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Javascript Taproot Address Generator for Browser on: July 28, 2023, 12:10:39 PM
Taproot support was added in the v6.1.0-rc.0 version of BitcoinJS-lib, so I don't see what your problem is. To clarify, I'm not advocating for bloatware or using libraries for tasks that can be done manually. However, considering the complexity of the problem you're trying to solve and the potential pitfalls, especially if you're not an experienced coder, this is a perfect example of where using a professionally made and thoroughly tested library makes sense and is justified.
1013  Economy / Gambling / Re: BC.Game-🔴🔴🔴BET RED IN CRASH!🔴🔴🔴 Find More Unique Games! on: July 28, 2023, 11:24:09 AM
I am not defending the accuser. Forget about everything. Whenever a sam accusation is raised, even without proof, the platform should respond by explaining either the accuser is wrong or they are doing something about it. Scam accusation does not rise every day. So, it's not hard to keep track of the data of allegations. Good to see that the BC game representative choose to respond to this case.

I'm not defending the platform here, but BC.GAME has actually responded to the accusation twice – once a month ago and again today. You can't really expect their representative on the forum to provide a more detailed explanation when the accuser didn't even share his username from the platform. Moreover, we can't determine if he received a response to his queries on the platform or if he was ignored since there's no evidence to support the claims, and we haven't heard the other side of the story yet.

Now, let's say the accuser is wrong or a kind of cheater or whatever, If BC game representative comes with an update and lets everyone know, what could be better than this? They could have done this 45 days ago. I believe efialtis or icopress influenced them to look at the accusation. Thanks to them!

I agree that resolving such cases as soon as possible is important for maintaining the overall reputation of the platform. Let's hope the accuser won't be evasive now and will provide the necessary information to shed light on this matter.
1014  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Keystone 3 HW coming soon! on: July 28, 2023, 10:34:18 AM
I doubt that anyone would want to use some old piece of hardware for their finances for say 10 years or more.
Many Bitcoins haven't moved in 10 years, and ignoring the ones that are lost, many of those must belong to long-term HODLers. I haven't owned Bitcoin for 10 years yet, but I don't like moving funds either.

Yes, but you don't have to move funds in order to replace a hardware device (assuming you even use one for such long-term hodling).

Hardware wallet devices (especially one like this) are designed to be a practical compromise between security of funds and convenience of use (spending). For long-term hodlers, however, I think that a simple paper or metal plate with a seed phrase (without any hardware/software wallet) is still a safer solution because it significantly reduces the number of attack vectors.

I've also seen lithium batteries break phones because they inflated. It's convenient to have a battery in a hardware wallet, but adds a risk factor.
Do keep in mind that it's possible to get the 'best of both worlds' by making it easily user-replaceable, as that gives us the option to just store it outside the device and quickly insert it when needed.

In case that I'll buy a Keystone 3, I would try to figure out if it's possible to non-destructively open it and unplug and remove the battery for long-term storage. After all, it seems to be using a standard JST-type connector.

According to the video, it appears that the device will be designed to be tamper-resistant. So, if you try to open it, the device will likely reset, assuming the final device is constructed similarly to the prototype. It won't be a problem as long as you can restart the device again. Let's just hope they don't take drastic measures, such as bricking the device completely.
1015  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Empty block? on: July 28, 2023, 10:13:59 AM
Just to add to everything that o_e_l_e_o has already explained, keep in mind that the next candidate block is constantly being updated, just as it is visually represented on mempool.space. New transactions are added, while some others are dropped, only to be included again in subsequent blocks, all with the aim of optimizing the use of block space, primarily to maximize profit from transaction fees. This process takes some time to be processed, but it doesn't mean that miners will stay idle during that time, as that would be an inefficient use of time and resources.

It is logical to conclude that mining even an empty block is better than mining none at all. That's why nodes first send an empty block with the correct header to the miners. This way, the miners have something to work on immediately, as they compete with each other to solve the puzzle first.
1016  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: A Mobile App for Bitcointalk forum??? on: July 28, 2023, 09:33:28 AM
The mobile application involves binding to the phone. I'm not sure that people who are trying to protect their privacy would agree to show their numbers in some way.
What is the problem with using a browser on a phone? Perhaps, due to my ignorance, I have never seen an application for forums; how do you imagine that?

No, that's not quite accurate. Mobile apps don't necessarily need to be "bound to the phone." In most legit apps, you have control over what information the app can access on your phone.

There is no problem using the forum through the phone's browser. However, as already mentioned, the problem lies in the fact that this version of SMF is not optimized to look good on all devices due to the lack of responsive design. Unlike, for example, the new forum software - EpochTalk - that was developed with responsiveness in mind right from the start.

For mobile apps designed specifically for online forum communities, you can check out:
Tapatalk
Discourse
Reddit
Quora

I am sure this has been discussed a few times here on the forum and I am against it as the forums work perfectly fine in the browser on your phone.
It's an Old SMF Forum however the mobile responsiveness is there. So I don't think we need a dedicated app just to access Bitcointalk. If someone from the community wants to make one with some mods, go ahead.

Yes it's responsive but you constantly need to zoom in-out, there are settings in browser with which you force site to condense in screen but that rather looks ugly.

Which means that the forum doesn't have a responsive UI design. I don't know why ImThour says it is, when clearly, it's not.

Responsive web design is about creating web pages that look good on all devices!

A responsive web design will automatically adjust for different screen sizes and viewports.
1017  Economy / Reputation / Re: Give your ratings on: July 28, 2023, 08:57:11 AM
After a quick review of your profile history, I must say that I didn't come across anything notably problematic. You appear to be an genuine forum user, and from what I can see, you are doing fine!

If you have any specific topics or posts that you believe haven't received proper attention or haven't been appropriately rewarded with merits, you can report them to fillippone's thread or post them here so we can check them out.
1018  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Keystone 3 HW coming soon! on: July 27, 2023, 09:24:14 PM
Just for the sake of the internal clock, add CR2032 to this device? Doubtful. Will this battery work as backup power? Is it suitable for this? Another question is, if the CR2032 runs out at the moment of confirming the transaction, how will this affect this process? Although this can happen only after many years, because I think the load on her will be small.

What is the purpose of the CR2032 battery on PC motherboards? As far as I know, they are used to power the internal clock and retain the BIOS settings. Nothing more. And, in my experience, these batteries tend to outlast the average lifespan of a motherboard. I've only had to change the motherboard battery once in my life, and that was on a very old Pentium based system.

Following that analogy, I assume the battery in Keystone HW is also responsible for supplying power to the internal clock and to the security chip's memory.

I also want to point out that Satoshi did not choose a round number either for the maximum supply of Bitcoin, opting for 21 million.

No, that's incorrect. Satoshi never opted for the round number of 21 million, not for the reason you think, but from a purely mathematical model used for the distribution of new coins through block rewards.

The maximum number of coins in the Bitcoin network is determined by two factors: the occurrence of halving every 210,000 blocks and the initial mining reward set at 50 BTC per block. Approximately 120 years from now (after the 33rd halving), when the mining reward reaches 1 satoshi per block, the max coin supply will be 20,999,999.9769 BTC (I am not taking into account coins that are provably unspendable and therefore can never reach the max supply). As a result, the network will never actually reach the total supply of 21 million BTC.
1020  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I'll always tell people about bitcoin on: July 27, 2023, 07:46:11 PM
Because of the risk that is in bitcoin it won't stop me from telling people about bitcoin which will better their life if they found it interesting.

Telling or introducing people to Bitcoin and getting people interested in investing are totally different things.

When we talk about introducing someone to Bitcoin, it's all about providing them with information on what it is, how it works, and what it can do for them. But if we encourage people to buy and invest in it, we end up influencing their decisions that can have financial repercussions. Personally, I have nothing against telling people about Bitcoin; in fact, I encourage it. I believe that everyone should have at least a basic idea about digital currencies and the role Bitcoin plays among them.

However, I would never try to persuade or encourage people to invest without first warning them about possible risks and threats. After all, the final decision should always be up to them and made after careful consideration, not hastily.
