corrupt SD cards.
twice now, i've gotten corruption on the SD card on one machine or another.  If there's a power cut, i cross my fingers and hope for the best.  chances are, at least one machine will need it's SD card removed and re-imaged.  Big thanks to the guy who posted a link in this thread to a copy of his SD card.  Although Bitmaintech has now posted updates to the firmware, they are in the format needed to update via the web gui - not directly image the SD card.

this problem is particularly concerning as there is no "shutdown" option in the GUI or button on the case.  just the power switch.  So each time you shut it off, you have a 50/50 change of buggering the software.... yikes.

If anyone has a step-by-step on how to image the SD card using Win32 Disk Imager and the downloadable "initramfs.bin.SD-20140410.tar" from Bitmaintech's new support page, it would be VERY helpful.  I'm using an image file someone posted much earlier in this thread, but it's the old firmware version.

You're welcome (from earlier) and I've updated the file to be an image of the latest firmware, IP of 192.168.1.99

https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/16075357/bitmain.img.zip

Link is the same, so using the other posted link will grab the new firmware. It has my mining info in it, so be a gent and let it mine for a bit! lol

UPDATE: Here's the latest image with the most recent firmware from June. https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/16075357/S2firmware.img.zip  It's over 4GB so it won't fit on the stock card.

Awesome attitude shit-cunt!

Is that how your parents taught you to talk to people?

Either answer the question posed or keep your shit to yourself, its rare that anyone wishes to be abused by anonfags over some weak BS.

And by the way, i dont open my mouth to type (or think, or read, or breath) - i know some folks who do, obviously you're one of those!

As if you're one to talk about attitude and politeness when talking to others.  On another note, who gives a shit, quit cluttering the thread.

Haha, fair point.

But fk you too!

i wont be abused by some know-nothing-know-it-all mouth breather without fighting my corner.

the guy was asking for rhetorical advice/hopes for future upgrade boards and all he got was 'know-nothing-know-it-all mouth breather' BullShit...

Should we allow these muppets to ruin every thread they think is theirs?

Probably not, eh...

@ sbfree - What are your ambient temps?
78-80 degress, cali is getting warm....all 3 are running, 2 fully, 1 with only 9 blades and Without the provide PSU as it shuts down, max temp of all units is 58C as usual on blade 1

The PSU shut down after 8hrs or so....I removed in put in a 1200W temp PSU....checked the bad PSU would power up, but now that its cooled it powers up.

Batch 2 seems to get better power consumption.

Anyone have any luck with overclocking? I've been running 5 s2's at 225MHZ (EVGA 1300W PSUs) for 24HRs. Here's the 12HR average for 5 machines which, at the console, report 1150GH/s each.

what is the eta for Titan?

Depends on how  long litecoin mining is profitable. Once it's not, they'll ship from stock as they pull them off their 10MW datacenter floor. Just like the Jupiter cards and the 400 Fraken Jupiters.

How much in electricity though?
Even if you own the data center it is in you could not eat that kind of power draw.

All set up and running. And yes, the backlight of 8 have burned out so far.

I currently have 45U racks, each with 10KW of usable juice. Price is under $1600/mo each rack. That includes power, data, cooling, UPS, Generator 99.999% uptime.

I'll take a picture Thursday after I install the rest of the Batch 2 Antminer S2's
1006  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: AntMiner S2 1TH/s Miner (1w/GH/s) on: April 15, 2014, 09:56:37 PM
mine arrived from UPS about 2 hrs ago.  I plugged it right in without opening it to verify no loose cards or anything (yeah probably a bad move on my part) and i got lucky.  it has has been hashing 1.00424TH average since i got it turned on.  havent tried to tweak it yet by replacing the power supply and overclocking.  that will be my next move.

Congrats! I'm sure Bitmain learned from the problems of batch 1.

I'm really interested to see how batch 2 people react after receiving their deliveries over the coming days. All being well, I'll hopefully be a batch 3 customer ... just not sure when they might release them though ... I wonder if they might wait to check that batch 2 customers are happy first?

I still had one of my batch 2 with asic blades all over, so you'd still better check things. Brand new power supplies, same asic board, just new heatsinks. controller board doesn't have the soldered/glued rework wire, so it sits in nice and snug now. New case, uses smaller screws, and 2 extra. The screws do have a habit of stripping the threads, which is a huge pain in the butt.

Best of all, the damn things just work. I've had a huge headache wiwth Batch 1, the systems not rebooting, needing power cycling, needing reflashing of the MicroSD cards, so far, I just hooked the batch 2 up and they've been running. I think I've had to open my Batch 1 units up at least 3 time each on average.

Here's my KNC Refund. Nice of KNC to convert my BTC @ $1,000/coin

What are those?

Too cool!

Lol!  Only 11THs not 1.1PHs.  I guess math isn't your strong suit.  Wink

Made me feel really cool for a minute though!

Has anyone else had issues with the MicroSD card corrupting after a power cycle?

Bitmain,

Would it be possible to buy S2's without the psu installed and a little cheaper?

JIm

+1 bitmain, definitely should offer this.
1014  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Antminer S1 Sales open] Price changes daily, now 0.893 BTC for 180GH/s on: April 08, 2014, 04:16:27 AM
Hi, mine arrived today but is Antminer Rev 1.5 2013/12/16 I hoped it was Rev 1.6 2014/1/4 . Now I am waiting the power supply 12V 50A, ordered a few days ago, to test the unit.
What Antminer rev. are those delivered to you lately?

Thanks in advance W_M

Just update the firmware... its easy

Any particular benefit to updating to the latest firmware on the S1?

This could really though a wrench in my plans for world domination via S2 miners...  Roll Eyes
The sad part (for the rest of us) is: I don't actually think you're joking...

He is joking, it won't throw a wench in things, silly silly giga

How soon can you deliver 1,000 units (without power supplies) and what price?
1018  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: AntMiner S2 1TH/s Miner (1w/GH/s) on: April 05, 2014, 07:33:59 AM
Is anyone seeing an issue where their S2 mines for about 10-15 or so minutes then stops and starts beeping?  This happens every time I power cycle and I have to stop/start cgminer or click "Save and Apply" under miner settings to get it going again.  (I only discovered the second method this afternoon).  After doing this once or a few times (varies), everything seems to work fine (for several hours, at least--still trying to get a good understanding of how often,etc...).

I've checked temps, re-seated boards, updated, checked all settings, power cycled, removed a board and let it run, switched the power cable (I'd initially put an older cable on it and it was getting a little warm in spots so I switched it out pretty quick) and checked all the other visible/accessible connections; all to no avail.  I've been working with Juan at 112bit who is also working with the Bitmain techs.  Just wondering if this is a widespread issue and if anyone has made any headway.

Yeah, I get that too, chasing ghosts right now. Try updating to the latest firmware (mentioned earlier in the thread) it's a firmware issue that'll be sorted out soon enough :-)
1019  Other / Archival / Re: Pictures of your mining rigs! on: April 05, 2014, 03:10:17 AM
how much does it cost to host something like that at a data center?

oops, forgot the super stack. look close, same number of miners as the other 2 racks! This is what you get when you must mine before shelves arrive:

If you can measure the wattage at the wall, i would appreciate .

My meter is holding pretty steady at 1111w-1114w.  It's not the kill-a-watt, it's pretty similar but made by Keedox.

I had a steady 9.5A on my 120v PDU
