1001  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Bitcointalk Escrows - Trade Safely! on: March 10, 2016, 05:11:33 AM
Yes, an escrow is a point of failure but the same is true for your scenario. You only need one of these scammy escrows or a hacked escrow account and you already have zero security from that 2of3 multisig that you described. The scammer would initiate a trade with an altaccount, deal as the escrow and screw the other trading partner because the scammer already holds 2 of the keys to release the coins to himself.

I did not have seen yet a fully safe scenario there too. You could involve more than one escrows though that would mean more time it takes, more work and maybe higher fees. For more security though.

Still an escrow is needed for negotiating while problems. With 2 of 2 you run into the risk that one of your trading partners claim you did send something wrong or that he threatens you to not release the coins until you agree to pay half of the price back.

It's often suggested but it is only a partly solution for some problems and many remain unsolved or other attack vectors are there.

According to my scheme/scenario there is no third party, the address is created only from the buyer and the seller public keys, so it is 2-of-2 MultiSig. The buyer can not scam the seller because he locks up twice as much as the seller, so he is motivated to be honest.
So how does the seller get his funds if the buyer refuses to release in this situation? That's what breaks your logic. And yes it would be nice to have people that are honest and all. But a scammer in this situation would talk you into that logic.

Ralobot.com

Some bullshit ......... till now all scam attempts Iam aware of could be stopped because the scammer ultimately was not so totally smart like he thought.

Huh  Grin yeah right  Kiss

Why would you be so smart since everthing is simple and stupid  Wink

Anyways good luck bro.

Note: Try to follow KYC & AML terms for a SAFE escrow lool  Grin  Grin

Right... my sentence was not the best. I only referred to the small part of trades that you referred to before.

At the end it's correct that it's not possible to make it totally safe. As escrow you can only try to find potential risks and avoid them or try to lessen them.
That's pretty much the reason I wouldn't escrow, and probably other members as well. There are just too many frauds that go on in the forum, and people that want to rip off someone else.

@ezeminer: Did you get an update from Denarium? They mentioned to begin to ship today...
Nothing yet. I sent them a message, will probably hear from them in a day or two.

Hard crowd to convince. Still taking entries Cheesy

ezeminer - I would like to submit a 2nd entry to quicken our lotto to 10 entries. Let me know if my 2nd entry is acceptable. Thanks.

Btw, i hit my first solo block recently by pure luck. 19TB only - 4 x  S7s in 6 hours - so if you still wondering if the stories about small miners getting any solo blocks are true - i can personally say yes.... it's randomly luck just like any lottery. Experiencing good lucky streak lately, so I hope my 2nd entry to the coming lotto will bring us luck as well! Cheers and keep on mining!
You're always welcome to submit multiple entries. Also congrats on that recent block.

Hi Ezeminer,

Huge risk for me. Id love to invest, but the total mining power is an exahash (I think).

What's the chance of, let's say 1000 THS, (1 BTC per investor) getting a block? It's miniscule?
4% per BTC

I'm hoping we can hit one this time round (this is a really crappy bump)
It's all good, thanks for bumping Cheesy

I'll be away for a couple of days, so I will not be updating the spreadsheet. I will update and answer any questions that are pending when I return.

May I know if ever a block was found until today?

Sorry if I am ignorant but I did not check the previous posts before asking this.

And how far it is being successful?

I think placing contracts on Miningrigrentals will be profitable since thy are having low fees than Nicehash if I am right.
It depends when you rent. Miningrigrentals is more expensive than nicehash in my experience. Right now MMR is 0.0002 more per TH than nicehash. But also depending on how many TH we need, we would need more orders.

We have not found a block yet, so now is a good time to get in.

The chances increase by roughly 0.2% per entry. If we have 10 people we have a 2% chance, with a chance to multiply your investment by 50x.

Whats your lowest acceptable offer on the 1 BTC?  3.4 seems a little high for grade.
That's actually a pretty good deal, I bought one for a bit more a couple months back.

That was one lucky person, 19TH and only 131 thousand shares submitted! HOLY SHIT!

!!!!!! OMG !!!!!!!!!!!!! OMG !!!!!!!!!!!!! OMG !!!!!!!!!!!!! OMG !!!!!!!!!!!!! OMG !!!!!!!!!!!!! OMG !!!!!!!

I took all but 1 x S7s pointing to Kano pool yesterday, for their cleaning and dusting, and last night I powered 4 x s7 to ckpool just for the "fun" of it.

When I saw CK post about that extra 1ph into the pool and likely getting a block in the morning - I was like whatttt!!!!

But saw that the lucky guy wasn't me.... I had decided to put it back to kano pool.....

..... but the Fedex man rang doorbell, to deliver parts for my ETH rig and was I was distracted....

I just came back to my screen and saw 25.0469 BTC in my wallet!!!!

What luck! It has not even made that many shares after the 1st block this morning.

I am so happy, its my 1st Bitcoin solo block, with this BTCs, I am going to do 3 things this morning...

1. Donate to CK & Happy Birthday!
2. Order a few more GPUs for the ETH rig.
3. Put a nice rental with my favorite rig owner to Kano pool to catch up on my 5ND.

Never say never... Luck will always find a way!
Congratulations Cheesy Better tip the Fedex guy extra Tongue

No.. Let me explain that to you...
I am a newbie member.. Can't create a pretty signature like anyone...
I didn't know that a newbie member has 50 characters for making a signature...
So i decided to copy any signature for me with any comments  i wrote it before...
If that make a problem with your topic.. I will be remove it...
Regards...

I got it...
Thank you...

-snip-

Sorry guys...
It's silly question!...
What is the meaning of solo mining?...
If i want to be in this group.. What can i do?...
Regards...
we all put funds together to rent Bitcoin mining equipment and then point the equipment at a solomining pool and if the equipment finds a block (25 btc) it is split proportionately amongst those who paid into it. The Original post on this thread is where you can find how to add your funds to the group you choose depending and the amount your willing to risk Smiley
sorry I missed the point..... Solo mining means you try to solve a block by yourself instead of mining in a group (pool) and getting paid per share, although we are a group it's nowhere near as large as the big pools running

Just wondering, why you are throwing around a referral link?
You're alright, as a newbie I just posted my referral link in my signature and over time I grew to utilize the different ranks I was given.
