10061  Other / Politics & Society / Re: WW3 is only a matter of time. on: June 13, 2015, 09:15:05 AM
Well if it has to happen, then I think it will in Asian Sub-continent region. The tensions, the drama, the threats, instability, are just too much. Name it, and every possible reason for starting WW3 is available there. China backing Pakistan, Russia backing India, tensions between India-Pakistan, India-China, America being diplomatic with all of them, all the spices are available.

Asia is quite stable now. Tensions between China and India has mostly subsided, although a lot of bad blood still exists between India and Pakistan. And China is no longer backing Pakistan, and Russia is no longer backing India. So we can be quite sure that even if a war between India and Pakistan breaks out, it will not turn out to be the 3rd World War.

I don't agree with your thinking.
In South Asia we have a lot of conflicts between China and its neighbors, because of border disputes.
China has outstanding border disputes with almost all its neighbors, including the Philippines, Japan, S. Korea, India etc.
The neighboring countries are even arming and strengthen their armies and starting to feel insecure because of aggressive Chinese policy.
Not yet broke open armed conflict but is not turned off in the near future.
10062  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Your perception of INDIA in ONE word... GO!! on: June 13, 2015, 09:08:02 AM
India is a beautiful country, very beautiful nature, beautiful people, cultures and traditions.
India is also a country of great social inequality, hunger and poverty, which is regrettable.
10063  Economy / Economics / Re: What awaits Bitcoin in the future? (poll) on: June 13, 2015, 09:02:45 AM
Bitcoin is already changing people's minds and perception of how financial institutions should work. Blockchain technology is being researched by banks, IT companies and governments.
People already invested too much in bitcoin its infrastructure and services. I can't end like a standard altcoin bubble. Of course it will change our future.

Bitcoin already changed our thinking about financial freedom, money, the online payments, security etc.
Now the main question is whether bitcoin can survive long term and become mainstream, globally accepted by many ''big'' merchants, average Internet users etc
So far, the bitcoin was a leader in his field but the competition is more intense every day and we will need to make more efforts in order to make breakthrough and become main standard.
I'm optimistic and really see bright future for us, bitcoin users.
Just recently we got first Bitcoin ATM in my country, already some companies accept bitcoin so every day we see some progress Smiley
10064  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin: Should you stay or should you go? on: June 13, 2015, 08:49:11 AM
It will be bitcoin or a competing altcoin. It's not the name that matters, it's the technology.
no altcoin has the potential nor the support nor the technology to compete with bitcoin. I am not saying that there never going to be anything but there is nothing right now.

you say it instead(your first sentence), many think that there would be an altcoin in the future that will be better than bitcoin, i say this is a blatant bullshit, not gonna happen, nothing can be comparable to the huge network of bitcoin, every new coin would just be a bad joke in comparison

and no coin can just be created and surpass bitcoin overnight, it will need so much time for any new coin,  to even start to think to overcome 10% of what bitcoin really is, and meanwhile bitcoin will be already on the moon with even more of a huge network
Don't be so sure. Every Yahoo has its own Google. Bitcoin can be dominant right now but there were many projects in the past which people thought were unsinkable as well.
Many companies and technologies are thing of the past now and no one foresee it for example: Nokia, Yahoo. Bitcoin might be big right now but it doesn't mean it is a clear victor.

We need that killer apps and services!

I agree with you.
The market currently has a lot of good ideas and projects, and often the good ideas are not enough for success if it is not well presented to the public and well promoted.
Bitcoin is currently number 1 in the field of virtual currency, but it can be replaced with some other ''big'' thing if we don't make breakthrough in next a year or two and become mainstream.
I am personally associated with bitcoin, and I'd love to see it succeed in the long run but if anything better than Bitcoin show up, I will readily accept change, like most other users.
It all comes down to profits and earnings, and ease of use.

10065  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: MasterCard makes the case that it’s safer and faster than Bitcoin! LOL on: June 11, 2015, 01:02:44 PM
If MasterCard is safer and faster than Bitcoin, why are they pushing for regulation? They should have nothing to worry about.
I understand that most members of the forum disagree with what MasterCard said, but I will agree with them, up to a point.
To elaborate, they are safer for the average Joe to use and they are definitely faster for the average Joe to use.

You are confused. A credit card is not faster in any way

The consumer experience:

Bitcoin: Scan a QR code. Press SEND. Done.
Credit Card: Give the cashier the card. Show identification. Wait for the slip to print. Sign the slip. Get the card back. Done.

The merchant experience:

Bitcoin: Wait for 1-6 confirmations. You have your money.
Credit card: Wait until the end of the month. You might have your money. Wait 9 months. You have your money.

I think you're being quite biased here. I don't know what country you live in but it takes seconds to use my debit or credit card and all I need to do is input my pin and I don't need to show any ID. My creditcard is even contactless and I don't even need to enter my pin which makes it quicker. And what you described is an ideal bitcoin use scenario, not one that will always happen. I'm sure there will be plenty of times when there's no net connection. I don't know if I'd dare use my bitcoins over wifi either since it opens you up to potential hacking. Good luck trying to get your coins back when that happens too.

Here are actually present very good arguments.
In my case, if I use my MasterCard online, I don't need PIN also, I just conform my transaction with a single pin of tokens.
If anything suspicious, the bank official will call me and make sure I initiated the transaction.
In the case of hacking my creditcard or bank account, the bank will recover lost funds.
All transaction happens in seconds and I don't need any exchanger to move funds etc.
So, in the terms of security, speed and ease of payment and transfer of funds, credit cards are still better than Bitcoin.
It should be remembered that MasterCard has become the standard and is accepted everywhere while bitcoin is very far from it.
I still hope that once in the future bitcoin will become mainstream and replace MasterCard but now they can not even be compared.

10066  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why don't we create a new crypto and call it bitcoin? on: June 07, 2015, 01:05:54 PM
We can do this, of course, create a new crypto, call it bitcoin but there are a few unanswered questions here.
Who will do this, who will start and organize everything?
What will be benefits for users and developers?
Fully decentralized?
Anybody thinks this is really possible?
Lower transaction fees?
Not sure either.
As idea this may be interesting but realization is to far away.

10067  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is like... on: June 06, 2015, 04:39:17 PM
Bitcoin is like a new virtual and financial revolution that gives everyone an equal chance for financial freedom and independence.
Long live a Bitcoin Smiley
10068  Other / Politics & Society / Re: WW3 is only a matter of time. on: June 05, 2015, 06:13:15 AM
If you ask some prominent historians and experts, the Third World War has already started and is still ongoing.
Practically since the end of World War II we see the ongoing conflict between the East and the West, led by America and Russia (former USSR).
That conflict was mostly cold and so they called it a cold war, but during the Cuban Missile Crisis almost happened an open conflict between America and Russia and the beginning of nuclear war.
The wars that took place later, in Afghanistan, Angola and elsewhere were indirect war conflicts between America and Russia, as it is now a war in Ukraine.
So, in my opinion, the real question is not when will the Third World war begin but when and how will the Third World war end.
In view of the consequences of this conflict on the whole world, and the number of countries and people involved, there is no doubt that it is indeed a global conflict, not a local.
10069  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is just to complicated for the average person to use.. on: June 05, 2015, 06:00:47 AM
Well, before answering this question, we should agree who is the average person?
Is it an American teenager who practically lives in the virtual world every day, and never separate from computers and smartphones.
Is that a pensioner from Brazil, poor and without electricity, who had never seen a computer in his life.
Is it a single mother from Africa, who lives in a tent.
Maybe we are talking about a middle-aged Russian from Siberia who has no confidence in anything that comes from the west.
Or  we are simply talking about a middle-aged American who use the Internet just to read e-mail and watch Facebook, but always prefer to see the money in his wallet rather than have some virtual money or use the credit card.
So, I would say that Bitcoin is not to complicate for average person to use but much more important question is who is average person today in the world and how many people in the world really have necessary foundation, habits and life style to even start to think about using bitcoin.

10070  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Islamophobia has never killed anyone. Muslim hate crimes are by Muslims. on: June 04, 2015, 10:50:55 AM
How is it not discrimination? The flight attendant didn't have any problem with the other passengers. Gave one an unopened can of beer in front of the muslim woman. Funny the article didn't say anything about that. Or about the other passenger's reactions. And how one insulted her and repeated that she would use the can as a weapon: http://rt.com/usa/263653-united-airlines-muslim-coke

I think the United Airlines PR has already apologized to Tahera Ahmad for the behavior of its staff. May be its time to put the issue behind and move on, rather than adding fuel to the fire.

Sure. This shouldn't received more attention than it deserves. I was only explaining how that was discrimination. Some people here didn't think it was. And the article in the op didn't explain what happened, just made fun of the situation. So I posted a decent article.

You are right, this was very good example of discrimination against Muslim.
In fact, what makes the situation even worse is the reaction of other passengers, who showed open hostility and hatred towards this lady.
It seems that this situation, better than all the words and declarations, shows the prevailing trend in the general population of America.
The people are so brainwashed by the media that every Muslim is seen as a potential enemy and terrorists.
What happened to America, a leader of democracy and human rights in the world?
Unfortunately, America is really changed since 2001 and became intolerant and hateful towards differences in religion, race, nationality etc.
Yes, Islamophobia has never killed anyone but kill the character and soul of people.
10071  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Airlines that accept Bitcoin as payment! on: June 04, 2015, 10:39:25 AM
Richard Branson is a well known advocator of bitcoin & as everybody is aware runs one of the worlds most successful airlines.
I'm surprised he hasn't integrated bitcoin into his payment methods for flights yet, I presume he will at some point, I hope so any way, that'd be bullish.
Come on Richie you know it makes sense.

He may like Bitcoin personally but still he must think like a business person.
He is certainly aware that the vast majority of his users do not use bitcoin and also he probably see some shortcomings of BTC like unstable value in the market.
Nobody wants to lose money in business and intelligence always comes before feelings.
It's great that some small airlines companies accept Bitcoin but we are still far from full acceptance of BTC.
10072  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Will Your Job Be Done By A Machine? on: June 03, 2015, 06:20:43 AM
I don't think so.
I work in customer service, every day talking to customers and I am sure that when people wants to resolve their problems, they have desire to speak to another man and not a machine.
I don't think this will ever change.
Maybe machines can replace humans in very heavy physical work in mines and factories but again people will have to monitor machines.
So, I don't think that my job can be dome by a machine, no way.
10073  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: News of Bitcoin’s death is greatly exaggerated on: June 03, 2015, 06:11:53 AM
Bitcoin is still new player in the field, relatively unknown to the public with its problems as well as benefits in terms of other currencies.
It's obvious that global financial institutions and banks realize bitcoin and other virtual currency seriously and will do everything possible to stop this trend.
In the long run, they certainly see us as a threat to their financial monopoly and will do anything to stop us, even deliberate expand false news about the fall of BTC.
When average people realize the benefits of Bitcoin in regard to traditional currency, the bank will lose this battle and BTC will become mainstream.
10074  Other / Politics & Society / Re: ‘The CIA killed Kennedy,’ says ex-agent on: June 02, 2015, 06:57:21 AM
There are a lot of conspiracy theories about the assassination of President Kennedy, and it seems to me that's for sure only that we will never know the full truth.
President Kennedy was indeed a charismatic leader who started a real change in America by supporting the movement for civil liberties in America, the unification of Berlin and Germany and the beginning of the US space program.
I think that Russians are responsible for his murder, he was their most dangerous rival, and even his killer was educated in Russia.

10075  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin: Should you stay or should you go? on: June 02, 2015, 06:47:49 AM
I will stay, in any case.
I'm sorry that I wasn't in Bitcoin from the very beginning, when I could get it very cheap, but I believe in the future of BTC and I will stay.
Many virtual currencies have come and gone but Bitcoin is still here, despite the many problems and obstacles.
When BTC become mainstream, we will finally be rewarded for our patience and faith.
10076  Other / Politics & Society / Re: US to charge FIFA for corruption! on: June 01, 2015, 06:27:06 AM
I like your argument. So how about the several corruption cases in FIFA? Is there related to Sepp Blatter or it just the handmade of someone that don't like him?

The FIFA has been corrupt ever since its creation. A cleansing drive should have been undertaken years ago. But it should not be at the orders of the United States. The Americans accusing the FIFA of corruption is like pot calling kettle black. The Americans have even used blackmail tactics (in addiiton to bribing) to get hosting rights in the past. They have no moral right to accuse the FIFA on anything.

Maybe you are right that FIFA was corrupt ever since its creation but Blatter really took it to much higher level and create the perfect criminal octopus, real mafia.
We can question the motivation of America to engage in a showdown with Blatter, and even doubt their true intentions and their credibility, but I think it was really high time to begin to address Crime in the top of FIFA.
The world is moving forward, not standing, so it's the time that the old dinosaur FIFA change and become transparent and open to the public.
10077  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Some Thoughts on Silk Road on: June 01, 2015, 06:15:24 AM
I think that in any decentralized marketplace it depends primarily on the customer whether all transactions comply with the law, and not on the system.
Accusing the entire bitcoin system to be criminal or bad because of criminal activities of a few does not make much sense.
Those who have done something wrong should be accountable before the law and the bitcoin should remain what it has been so far: a decentralized, anonymous and open to all.

10078  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Why ISIS is winning? on: May 31, 2015, 12:10:07 PM
At the moment it may seem to suck wins but long term I think it will lose this war.
At present, their enemies are divided, Iran, Syria, America, Russia, Iraq and others but it will not last long.
When all understand the gravity of the situation and finally achieve real agreement on military cooperation, ISIS will have no chance alone against all.
Americans have underestimated the danger of Isis, as previously underestimated the threat from Saddam and Osama, but I think they now understand the seriousness of the situation.
Each additional day of ISIS terror is a disaster for the region and the entire civilized world.
10079  Economy / Economics / Re: Would any government allow foreign currency to circulate in domestic economy? on: May 31, 2015, 12:02:24 PM
For any government, bitcoin is like a type of foreign currency. Today non of the government (except Zimbabwe with a dysfunctional national monetary system) allow the circulation of foreign currency in domestic market

The reason that government don't care about bitcoin is because bitcoin's economy is still tiny, almost non-exist in the context of the national economy. But if bitcoin becomes widely spread and start to take significant part of the transaction in national economy, then there will be two currencies exist in the same economy. That will destroy all the exiting model of monetary theory and policy. I guess governments will all act like China and Russia, ban the use of it as currency

Then the payment function will become obsolete, leave it only with the function of international remittance and long term anti-inflation storage, which anyway is the main usage nowadays. Maybe that's a good thing, it means bitcoin does not need to handle several thousand transactions per second

I'm not sure that you are right about this.
Montenegro, after separation from Serbia, accepted Euro as official currency, even without official approval of EU.
So, they could also accept Bitcoin in the same way, as simple politic decision, if they could see and understand benefits of bitcoin as currency.
The time of great political change and major economic crisis is the right time for large and revolutionary changes if we have a government brave enough for such a decisions.
if I led the Greek government, and I'm under the threat of bankruptcy around the country, I'd be thinking about how to drop the euro and accept bitcoin.
I'm sure that such scenario will happen, soon or later and we will have first government to accept bitcoin as official currency.

10080  Other / Politics & Society / Re: US to charge FIFA for corruption! on: May 30, 2015, 07:18:56 PM
Blatter is in FIFA since 1991 and until now he managed to avoid all attacks and threats on his absolute power in FIFA.
For the small countries in Africa and Asia, he is the Messiah and they absolutely support him in each election.
It seems that Blatter can only be stopped by USA police, if they arrested him.
Otherwise, he will rule forever Smiley
