10081  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][Qtum]UTXO based POS Smart Contract Platform | Crowdsale March 2017 on: February 08, 2017, 01:50:53 AM
It was said that a crowdsale will happen in 3 major Chinese exchanges but the names of the exchanges was not mentioned. I want to ask if it is possible for the people outside of China to register and make accounts in these major Chinese exchanges to participate in the crowdsale. If it is possible what are the 3 major exchanges the QTUM development team is referring to?
10082  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Litecoin segwit activation. What happened? on: February 08, 2017, 01:39:11 AM
Has the activation of segwit also failed in litecoin? This site was posted in the forum http://litecoinblockhalf.com/segwit.php

When I checked how many miners have signaled segwit activation the number was a small 3% of total miners. The litecoin community has said that it will be surely activated because they were so sure at that least 75% of the miners will cooperate. What happened?

I tried asking the same question in their announcement thread but no one answered.
10083  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: A Decentralized Fund on: February 08, 2017, 01:09:37 AM
All these Newbie account popping up and creating one fund or the other looking for people to give them money to invest for them.

I will like you to answer this question

What experience do you have to manage investor's fund
How would you proof you can be trusted since you are a Newbie here
Don't be biased and judge him because of his rank. I've met many bitcointalk newbies who were brilliant and intelligent individuals with great ideas.
Would it be more reassuring that he had a hero account? Definitely not for me. Just read what he is talking about and judge that information by yourself.

The only things that matter:

- What this project is all about, what is the innovation here?
- Do we see competent, experienced people working on it?
- What is the purpose of the fund, what it will bring for us, possible investors?
- Do we have clear and honest relation with the community?

I would prefer to be biased and cynical than to be scammed by a fraud scammer. I am not saying the vegafund idea is a scam but judging from what we have always witnessed in the cryptoshere, the vegafund could maybe be over 99% a scam. The community has had enough of this and it is time to know who these people are. So the vegafund people should give us proof of their identity if they really want to be trusted.

Germaine Radamie winning via unanimous decision could be a good one
Im not sure of the odds yet but I think this will go the 5 round distance.
Im sticking to Germaine win right now around 1.85
You could possibly hedge that with holm via UD so that you break even if that happens.

Yes good idea thanks. What sportsbooks would you recommend for UFC prop betting that gives good odds and what sportsbooks would you recommend for sportsbetting in general? I use 2 sometimes 3 different sportsbooks but I think I need more to find the best odds. The problem is I do not know which ones are trustworthy.
10085  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UFC 211: Miocic vs Dos Santos info and Prediction Thread on: February 08, 2017, 12:46:42 AM
No Junior Dos Santos is not past his prime. He is 33. That is still good in the UFC, and he could also win this versus Stipe. I tried checking the odds for that fight but the sportsbooks still has not made them yet. Another Fabricio Werdum versus Stipe would have been a better fight than this. But least Dana White is giving Junior another chance for the heavy weight championship.
10086  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] AMP - The Currency That Powers Your Attention On Synereo on: February 07, 2017, 01:59:51 AM

Fantastic picture! I like Synereo because it's part of the new trend -> Reputation Currencies and Attention Economy.

Exactly, what is a social media worth without a currency. Zero.

Only those social medias will survive, that have their own currencies, that can be traded freely, and are not centralized like FB credits.

AMP is meant to be the speartip of innovation, and it will bring us a new world on the internet.

An established social media site can always start accepting bitcoins you know. There is no need to start a social media site with your own tokens if those tokens have no use outside of the site. What will mostly happen to that idea will be something like /r/dogecoin on reddit.com. They pass and tip dogecoins with each other but what use are they except to trade back to bitcoins?
10087  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UFC 208: Holm vs De Randamie Info and Prediction Thread on: February 07, 2017, 01:53:31 AM
@krach. I will follow you on this bet. At what method do you think Germain will win? Will it reach the decision? Maybe a prop bet of Germaine Radamie winning via unanimous decision could be a good one? I cannot see Holly being knocked out in this fight. She has good movement in the octagon and could be hard to hit.
10088  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Would you login to a gambling site with Twitter, Google or Facebook Id? on: February 07, 2017, 01:47:06 AM
Most sites, at least dice sites, provide either a login url (Just-Dice, SatoshiDice) or ask for a user name and password (BitDice, PrimeDice).

One of the benefits of Bitcoin gambling is betting anonymously.

There has been a couple of sites however that allowed you to login with your social media profiles, though they seem to be dead now Smiley

Do you think sites should offer the option of login via social media profile as well as the normal username/password?

No! That beats the purpose of gambling with bitcoins. Can you imagine how all the wives will get mad if they find out that their husbands have been using their money for groceries in dice games? The wives will find out and believe me it will be like world war 3 in your home.

Good pick. But how did you know? Are you a wizard? He he he. At those odds I would have doubts on Herrig's chances of winning. The sportsbooks usually know the probabilities better than us.

Allthough that is generaly true, that is not how sportsbooks always make lines.
Sportsbooks do not always balance and instead choose to fade the public, this is a simple way to explain without getting totaly off topic.
The jobs that we have as bettors and people making picks is looking for value.
For example if I was the person making the line I would have put it at even money on that fight, so in my opinon there was a lot of value on Herrig.
Why?
I documented why on my site https://degenbet.com there is also a video there were I discuss this and some of the other fights on the card. I also got a pick wrong! I had Hill vs Andrade under 2.5 rounds. How Hill made it though the fight, I dont know. I wanted to bet on Andrade but there was not much value in 1.20 or less for her to win, so I went for the under 2.5. If you watch the fight you will see what a bad beat that pick was, it was close, but that is not good enough.

Sure Grasso is good, and even rocked Herrig right at the end, that was not enough though.
People undefeated for a long time somtimes go into "do not lose mode" you saw this in her fight vs heather jo a little.
Lots of distractions! Super Bowl, Undefeated, young and put on the UFC hype train, and in Texas almost a home play since she is from Mexico facing Herrig who can be kind of a bully in your face style fighter, 3.45 mispriced.

https://twitter.com/theog__/status/828205280328560641
For confirmation you can also check out the "real" weigh ins
This was right before they said "116" which is the max she can weigh, does she look really ready to go?
Compare that to Herrig, she just walks in stands on the scale and is good to go.
Although the weigh ins can be hard to base a pick on alone, it can be a good way to confirm or to fade fighters that look like crap then.

TIP: Avoid watching the UFC hype videos. These are the documentary style shows they use to hype fighters. They want to build an emotional connection between you and the fighter. Regardless if the figher is a 9.00 underdog they will do their best to make you think that they will win and have a good chance of doing so. I dont watch any of those videos untill im 100% sure of my picks and have placed bets on them. It helps me, it might help you too.

IMO . MMA is the best sport to find really good value on underdogs, just look around.

Thank for the tips. I will surely check your website from time to time from now on. Also yes, Alexa did not look ready enough during the weigh in. Maybe the pressure made her lost focus and what has to be done. Maybe the woman in the picture holding the cover is really the sister of Felice Herrig threatening her. Look!
10090  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: A Decentralized Fund on: February 07, 2017, 01:34:53 AM
We acknowledge that there are certain vulnerabilities in the platform, however many of those risks can be minimized, we are focused on making a platform that individuals could opt to change as a part of a plan to minimize risk.

How do you plan to minimize those risks? Are you open to let the experts do a peer review on your code before releasing it? Because if you want to start a fund that operates outside of any governmental audit and inspection you should let the community itself be the one responsible in making sure your fund is not a scam.

It would also help to tell us who you are and what your qualifications are in running a fund and why you think we should invest in it.

You also have not my answer from the previous post. I will quote it below.

There are good points about Ethereum that were said in the thread. But you still chose to start your fund in the platform. Is it because it is where you think you can organize a more successful funding round? Or do you think Ethereum has a technological edge over the other platforms like NXT or XEM for your use case? Please explain why.
10091  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Litecoin - a lite version of Bitcoin. Launched! on: February 06, 2017, 02:05:59 AM
How big is the litecoin blockchain right now? I tried to google about it but I have not seen a straight answer anywhere. Some say it is smaller than bitcoin's blockchain but they do not say by how much. That makes me feel skeptical.

About segwit activation, it is only 2% of miners signalling it according to this site http://litecoinblockhalf.com/segwit.php

Is that accurate?

Duh! definitely the patriots, I don't think anyone likes them even their owner/coach/QB, but they are my favorites to win by far, Excellent offense but most importantly consistent defense that can probably limit the scoring of Ryan, The falcons defense is never impressive IMO. I think the patriots are winning full-time and probably covering the -3 spread.

No, not tonight. The Falcons are playing really good. Most of the people I am with right now are New England fans and they are going crazy right now. As if they cannot lose this one and they feel it is a done game. But I have to say that Tom Brady at 39 and still a star quarterback is still an achievement.

Felice Herrig over Grasso has massive value at 3.45

I see Herring rag dolling that cute girl.

@Pattberry. If it all goes down to politics will the people who have the most influence on what and who would become winners play the equality and inclusion role? If you noticed the theme of the movies either includes blacks or gays and in one movie it is the 2 together.

They should give Arrival a chance. The aliens need racial inclusion too.

It is all newbie accounts making all the scam accusations. Where did they all come from? It is possible that this came from only one group of people who do nothing but to discredit a service here in the forum.

I also would like to say that 1XBit has been a good sportsbook for me. All my cashouts are good and all bets won all go to my account without any changes.
10097  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Positive news from Ripple (XRP) on: February 05, 2017, 01:30:11 AM
All these years Ripple always comes out with news that are supposed to be good. The altcoiners here, who are really closet bitcoiners, buy and they all lose money. If that news is really good then why is everyone dumping their XRP? The only people who are making money out of this is Ripple the company.

Iconomi made 4x after their release, why don't Qtum make same or even more? Qtum is clearly better than Iconomi, Chronobank and other similar ICO's. Qtum's competition will be against Ethereum. Qtum is offering similar smart contract system but with better ideas. We don't hassle with POW, we go directly with POS.

Here is the important bit of my research. Vitalik is invested in QTUM. We all know that Ethereum is not going to switch to POS ever. QTUM has made their platform compatible with Ethereum's present smart contracts and dapps. So I speculate that a great migration to QTUM will occur simply because it might be more stable, faster and more scalable. The migration will include Vitalik. He will leave Ethereum and declare it a community project.

What is the source of this information? I know one of the former Ethereum foundation member is invloved Anthony Dilorio but I have never seen Vitalik name associated with Qtum project. Vitalik leaving Ethereum would end the project

I said in my post that it is only a speculation. Maybe I should have also used the right wording in saying that Vitalik is invested in QTUM. But his friend and fellow general partner at Fenbushi Capital is invested in it. Maybe Vitalik does not want to be directly connected publicly with the platform but it is very possible for him to be invested in it no matter how he denies it.

hmm, i don't know if it is as good a news as you think. and you forgot to give us a resource for this news.
besides Vitalik is not going to give up his own altcoin and come invest in something he can not control. ethereum is mostly in his possession and he is making a lot of money from it. so i doubt if he really is planning on leaving anything.

They always do. When a platform has nowhere to go they will leave. Ethereum has already shown to be technically incapable of scaling and their plan to become a POS platform is very doubtful to happen.

He makes a lot of money from ETH only if he moves them to BTC and I speculate he will move some of his personal stake to QTUM.
10099  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: XEM - NEM - price speculation next 2 months on: February 05, 2017, 12:52:59 AM
@sandiman. Your comments are no better than mine. In fact it is your comments that add nothing to any conversation. All we see from you is being angry at everyone because you think you are so smart and so rich. I know you are not.

Back to XEM. Look at the price. It will become flat at the top and gradually go down now because the traders will take profit. Did you really think it can go up in parallel with bitcoin?
10100  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is there any place to gamble IF the Mayweather vs McGregor fight will happen? on: February 05, 2017, 12:44:02 AM
I would be so scared to watch this fight, because if Mayweather for some reason gets KO'd (it can happen) it would be the end of his career. I mean I think people is not really considering the massive risk that this is for Mayweather. McGregor is not even a boxer and expected to lose, so Mayweather has all the pressure. People are not valuing that enough. It would be a total success if the fight happens, I will buy a ticket for sure.

My God the hype has truly gotten into your head. This is my prediction for this fight, the winner will be Floyd Mayweather via a unanimous decision. The fight will be boring exactly like Floyd's fight versus Pacman.

If all of you want an exciting fight, Conor versus Pacman will be better. We'll see a clinic of how to shut the Irishman up.
