10181  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin To Transform Argentina on: April 07, 2015, 01:51:42 PM
Although the bitcoin community in Argentina is not as large as some of the other communities like USA or China, but still for a much smaller perspective, bitcoin have really grown up in there. There are almost 100 services that allows BTC in Buenos Aires. So that's a positive start, and with their economic potential, Bitcoin market will continue to expand at a very rapid pace in Argentina, no doubt.

http://www.coinbuzz.com/2015/04/04/bitcoin-will-transform-argentina/

It's great to hear this.
I know that economic and financial situation in Argentina is no so good so BTC surely can help in long term.
Their banks can collapse to, national currency also, so if their government can recognize real potential of BTC, they can become first country in the world to accept BTC as official currency.
This will make them financially independent from world financial institutions (World bank) and give new, fresh, start to the whole country.
We really need one country to start, and other countries will follow as well Smiley

10182  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can Bitcoin Really End World Poverty? on: April 07, 2015, 01:32:18 PM
World Poverty is really very complex issue.
It will be great if we can solve it in such simple way, with BTC but I don't think so.
BTC is just virtual currency, means to do something but in order to solve such complex and difficult problem we need cooperation from many governments, UN agencies, health organizations, private organizations and private people.
We need to give concrete help and support to the people, educate them, invest a lot resources in order to solve this problem etc.
BTC users may donate their earned BTC in order to help financially all this projects and speed up whole process but this is everything we can do, I believe.

10183  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Hitler vs. Stalin on: April 07, 2015, 01:25:02 PM
I think that both of them was evil people, monsters.
It's meaningless try to compare them based on the facts who killed more people, or if they killed more people in their own country or in other countries.
They represent the worst kind of government, self-centered, without any compassion for people with different ideology, race, religion etc.
Unfortunately, for many people today they are still positive and good examples, and they still have many followers so this really make me worry.

10184  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Why do islam hates people? on: April 07, 2015, 01:17:31 PM
So many posts about this question but I think question is completely wrong.
People can hate other people, not religions or faith.
We have, for example, Catholics, Muslims and Jews who can love and respect people from other faiths, and Catholics, Muslims and Jews who who can't.
Is this because of their faith, some religious book or because of their character, way of life, tradition?
Not easy matter, really but surely we shouldn't generalize people according to their religion, race, nationality, sex etc.

10185  Other / Off-topic / Re: What are your HOBBIES? on: April 07, 2015, 01:11:28 PM
I have many hobbies.
Let's see, reading books, traveling and visiting new places, family researches, history, translation, etc.
I just wish that I have more free time for all of this.
10186  Other / Off-topic / Re: What do you want? [Serious] on: April 07, 2015, 01:07:17 PM
A big booty hoe. Just kidding. I guess happiness and health. Being financialy stable is a nice plus though.

With 1k or 2k BTC im ok, thanks  Grin

Money can't buy you happiness or health though. I think people who just wish for money would blow it all relatively quickly because they usually think money = materialistic possessions and the 'happiness' they bring but it never works out this way.

I agree with you.
Money can't give love or joy, just material things necessary for survive.
So, I really want happy and nice family, loving wife, great children, good and trustworthy friends, all things nobody can buy with money.
I also want to travel, visit many other countries, meet new people, make new friends, have nice experience etc.
World is nice and wonderful place, we just have to explore it Smiley

10187  Other / Politics & Society / Re: ISIS destroys Syrian Church on Easter Sunday on: April 06, 2015, 08:52:47 AM
This is really modern barbarism and cultural genocide.
If we don't stop them, they will destroy the cultural heritage and history of that area.
Really is amazing so much hatred towards the history and tradition of a whole culture.
10188  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you have a feeling BTC has slowed down a bit? on: April 06, 2015, 08:44:21 AM
I don't think its slowed down but I think there are too many people getting in nowadays hoping to "Get Rich Quick" and it simply isn't happening fast enough for them so they get bored and exit their position. So many people, so many threads (everyday on this forum) asking how they can "double my Bitcoins" and similar. Bitcoin is not some magic money that you can just pull some trick and multiply it. You wouldn't expect to start out with 20 US dollars and raise your capital without doing some kind of work, providing a service, or selling something. I believe the price of Bitcoin will definitely rise in the long-term but I think the days of huge increases overnight might be over, at least for now. As a result, these Get-Rich-Quick people are so eager to multiply their BTC that they invest in so many shady sites/people/operations in hopes of striking it rich without doing their due diligence. I.e.- Shady Cloud Mining operations that can't even provide proof of actual mining, Ponzi schemes, investing in brand new casinos operated by anonymous people that exit with the bankroll, etc. Then these people get scammed out of their money and get even more burnt out.

I personally don't think we need more regulations, but people need to remember that a Bitcoin transaction is irreversible, and if they can't trust who they're sending it to 100% then they shouldn't "invest". Bitcoin was created so that YOU could control your money, not a third party site or centralization. HODL your private keys.

That s the problem. Most of people, at least from the developed world, come to BTC from money transmitting industries which are quite safe and regulated. In other words, their money s been generally protected. Paypal, Payzaa, credit cards, banks, etc, there s always someone to call and complain if something goes wrong. Now, they come to a "wild, wild west" industry where they can be ripped off at any corner and there s nobody to complain about it. I don't think we should change behavior of BTC users, I do not think they need to get accustomed to this kind of scam free economy, I think we need to change BTC to resemble some of more traditional money transmitting industry, ONLY in terms of consumer protection. Wild, wild west s not good for BTC, I do not want to think "is it a scam" every time I see a new business opportunity in the BTC world and this is EXACTLY the first thing which comes to my mind.

I agree with you.
Online users really like paypal, for example, because of very good customer protection.
If they pay for some service and don't receive it, they can open dispute in their paypal account and receive money back.
With bitcoin something like this is not possible.
Yes, BTC should definitely change and offer some kind of protection for both buyers and sellers.
10189  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Movement in Philippines on: April 06, 2015, 08:39:48 AM
Win some ...lose some.. It's just great to hear some more countries dealing with Bitcoins.

Most things start small and grow bigger over time... We had the same thing in my country... 1 formal meetup for Bitcoiners in 3 months and now we get together on a weekly basis on a informal basis.

Many projects have been brainstormed and developed from this since.  Wink

Cool story! But here in our country, Facebook groups of bitcoiners do exists, but sadly, none of it was active, but I'm pretty sure there are bitcoin movements happening here--though they prefer to be silent, I don't know. The majority of the population, and even the tech savvy people here in the Philippines know very little things about bitcoin, so I'm not surprised with the fact that the Philippines is left behind in regards to technological advancements.

In my country is similar situation.
Yes, we even got first Bitcoin ATM but still we don't have much BTC users and tech savvy people  (or merchants) are still skeptic about Bitcoin.
I hope this will change when bitcoin become more popular and globally accepted.

Anybody heard shocking news from Turkey?
Fenerbahce's team bus was shot at by a gunman after the Turkish Super Lig leaders' 5-1 victory at Rizespor. http://www.bbc.com/sport/0/football/32187388
I can't believe that something like this can happen.
Maybe football championship in Turkey will be disrupted.
What do you think?

it doesnt really take much to shoot at a bus, i dont thing things will be disrupted but security will definitely be higher

I would say that someone really has to be a fanatic or lunatic to attack in such way.
Can you imagine that a team from England and Spain came to Turkey to play a Champions League match and to be attacked in this way. If something like this happen again maybe UEFA should prohibit future international football matches in Turkey.
10191  Other / Off-topic / Re: There was no Big Bang, Truth shall set you free!!!! on: April 06, 2015, 08:27:22 AM
if you read the bible you will see it was in your face before science all along

Yes, if you ignore the blatant mathematical errors and the fact that the person who wrote the bible thinks the earth is 5000 years old yes I suppose you could say the bible was scientific, in the same way that news journalists are always factually accurate about everything they report on.

Lets not get into the heaven is hotter than hell argument to prove the point shall we?

The bible was written by many people over many periods of time and in different places in different languages.  Then translated into English when we still used thou, ye, and thee.  To say "the person who wrote the bible", is to say "I am ignorant of the where the bible comes from".

sdp

That plus the English translation was written using the King's English, which essentially no commoners understood. Couple that with the fact that Court of King James removed, re-worded, and added countless stuff that they thought was unimportant, or contradicted the king's ideologies. There's at least another 3 books of the bible that are not included in the King James version.

Couple that with the fact that no where in the bible does it actually state that you go to Heaven as reward for anything; not once does it say. Plus if people knew the King's English they would understand that term "heaven" is simply the King's English version of the word "sky". It is not a definitive place, but another word referring to the sky.

Most subsequent language translations used the King James version to translate into other languages.

As a result of that, we have generation after generation of deluded Christians believing nothing more than a highly perverted version of the bible.

I don't think that you are right here.
Yes, we can talk about quality of translation but we can't explore value of Bible simple in scientific way.
Bible is much more than this, spiritual guidance for believers, spiritual scripture.
Most Christians believe that people who wrote Bible was spiritually inspired.
You can't compare Bible with other, ordinary book, or look in Bible in the same way as you look other books.
We have first to research history recorded in Bible, 2000 years ago or more and compare actual facts with Bible facts.
Based on such research we can make some concrete conclusions, not just based on quality of translations.
And yes, for believers Heaven is not just sky but have much more deep content.

10192  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BTC legislation, is it really that bad? on: April 05, 2015, 07:30:43 PM
Maybe my initial post is not clear enough. What I was referring to is actually legislation related to consumer protection. In other words, establishing a system where there is actually someone you can complain to if something goes wrong and that someone actually does something about it.

There are all ready consumer protection laws on the books. They are not currency dependent. They simply need to be enforced by the appropriate authorities/agencies.

Yes, this is true but under low in my country only accepted currencies in trades are our national currency.
I don't think that any registered company in my country could issue an invoice in BTC, such invoice will not be accepted by authorities.
So, before we talk about consumer protection laws first BTC should become legal in my country, maybe in other countries is different situation.
So, yes, BTC legislation is good thing from business viewpoint.

10194  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What should I do with my BTC? on: April 04, 2015, 10:58:51 AM
Hi Cheesy

Just received some BTC from my signature campaign.
What should I do with it?

Thanks

Congratulation!
You have 3 clear choices now.
You can keep this BTC in your wallet and do nothing now (with hope that value of bTC will increase soon).
You can spend BTC if you like buying digital staff on Internet, playing games etc.
You can cash out your earnings.
Right now, I choose last option.

10195  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Something big for Bitcoin coming April 15th on: April 04, 2015, 10:52:22 AM
We don't have any real facts about this ''great event'' on April 15th so we can just speculate.
In my opinion, nothing special will happen, just another day.
10196  Other / Off-topic / Re: Is it better to be honest and poor but not rich and dishonest? on: April 04, 2015, 10:42:44 AM
Very difficult question.
For normal, happy life, you need some money and good salary but if you are dishonest people will not like you much.
Because of this you will not be happy much, even you have a lot money.
Only money can't bring happiness, relationships with people make real difference in life (children, spouse etc.)
10197  Other / Off-topic / Re: What you don't like ? on: April 04, 2015, 10:39:02 AM
I don't like injustice, hatred, selfishness etc.
I like everything opposite to this Smiley
10198  Other / Off-topic / Re: What is the best thing in the universe? on: April 04, 2015, 10:20:35 AM
From my experience, I can share that the best thing in universe is love.
All other things will give you happiness for limited time only.
Love, if is true love, will give you joy and happiness forever.
10199  Other / Off-topic / Re: [Share] Your Favorite Quotes on: April 04, 2015, 10:17:27 AM
Since Easter is coming, for me the best quote is this one:
''Love others as you love yourself''.
Very useful life advice not just for religious people but atheist as well.
10200  Other / Off-topic / Re: How long do you know Bitcoin? on: April 04, 2015, 10:09:29 AM
If I remember well from summer of 2013.
I heard about BTC first from my friend but didn't start right away, but maybe in the beginning of 2014.
