one more question, does anyone know for certain if the exchanges have updated their clients in time?

how would someone set up a master node? I really want to learn how to do this too The master node is chosen based on a hash of the last block. A master node is just a regular DarkCoin client that was elected based on the hash. How are the 'addnode' s created? I don't get that part, LOL But I do see what you mean above, and understand, just still curious about the other

So, is this coin dead? What exactly happened this weekend? I'm forced to shut down my p2pool node. Are we expecting this more often now? Got to sell my funds fast, I always thought this bullshit is worth an investment Well, it was a mistake in calculating how long it would take to get to the chosen block before a hard fork. Most everyone was notified, but some people are not on the mailing list I guess? Can't say anything except sorry, which I know Evan is. He implemented a fix for a vulnerability in KGW that was found. What can we all say? I'm sorry it happened as well, and hope all the pools will continue on despite the mistake.

Any ideas why I'm being banned every now and then from drkpool? Me or the pool? Your rejects are quite high. Try lowering intensity, it always helps me, though I don't have the same card

I don't think that bitcoin will ever implement anything stealth. It will have to be a 3rd party processing or else a parallel wallet system. They don't want to mess with their multi billion dollar economy plus with all the bad press from illegal activities, they don't want to invite more criticism. So I don't really know who/what is developing stealth addresses for bitcoin, but Zerocoin ended up having to do it as a separate coin instead of what they wanted to do because the developers of bitcoin said they didn't want to participate with their project.
From what i know this is an issue for bitcoin, refusing innovation, well look at casettes, cds and so on. LOL. If they dont want to touch their multi billion dollar construct osmethign else will take lead just as apple over blackberry, and see blackberry now. ugh , i need some sleep - fast. Or MySpace and FaceBook

tomorrow i will evaluate if it makes sense to lauch a darkcoin news site if somebody else doesn’t do it, some sort of place where important announcements for users and pool owners are bundled, hmm.
That's a nice idea, but really, Evan's team really needs to have an email list, and if it's supported, a PM list so that with one swoop, he can send a warning to everyone. On the other hand, he didn't intend to have it happen so fast, he just miscalculated the block where it would fork. It was a human mistake. I hope everyone can forgive that!

That was great to get a little background about you. I knew you were exceptional, and the interview didn't surprise me, though it's awesome to be able to send that to my mom. Last time we talked, she'd gotten enough of bitcoin to get a negative impression, I could tell, but she's only starting here, and I think that interview will raise her eyebrows in a good way. She is an overly cautious person, but even more so, she's "a sucker" for high intelligence. Bad choice of words, but she does know when a person is full of hot air, and when they're impressive, she "falls head over heals" for them (kinda like me - you need a second Mom? Aunt? LOL) I KNEW there was a redhead in my future! LOL

what is DGW? Is there any resources for miners anywhere? Thanks
DGW stand for Dark Gravity Wave, and it's the new solution Evan came up with to replace KGW which compensates for large fluctuations in the mining difficulty due to large farms etc... dropping in to mine while the difficulty is low. KGW was shown to have some weaknesses that could be exploited.

redownload wallet delet blockchain and chainstate .. remember to KEEP your wallet.dat then start the new darkcoin-qt
Why do you have to delete the blockchain and chainstate? I mean, unless they're corrupted, they should be fine, no?

I've read a lot of comments that they take forever, and if you did something stupid like I did (forgot my password and had to reset it) they will hold the transaction 24 hours before they send it. Thanks for your response. I have the transaction ID from Cryptsy to confirm it has been processed. Should it still take 24 hours after that? MintPal was quite quick... Someone above, I just read, also remembered that you have to confirm an email, did you do that? Yes, I did confirm an email. I have the unconfirmed amount of DRK in my wallet. But, because my wallet is not synching past block 34110, it has not been verified. Did I mess something up? AH HA! We just had a hard fork, you just need to update your wallet to the latest (and Greatest, LOL) and it will show up!

Hi to all , I m relativly new to mining so if somebody could guide me or show me exactly how to open an darkcoin account would be thankfull. I have mining rig(s) and normally using only basic script coins to mine. Have downloaded new BAMT 1.6 with support for darkcoin, but i cannot figure out how to open DRK account so can connect rig to a pool. I downloaded from darkcoin.io a wallet latest version v0.9.0.0 , also cannot figure out what i have to do in order to get my DRK account. also i m not a linux expert but know how to connect over ssh please advice Ok, I'm sorry to say I've never used BAMT. But to "open an account" what you do is download the wallet. If you're on Linux, normally you build it from scratch. The links are on the first page, and if you ask more specific questions, it'll be easier to help Anyway, If you want to connect to a pool, and I'll insert that I really enjoy mining at Lotterymining.com (you can find a list on the first post), all you do is sign up with one. Each one has a connection address, and - at least for phg' sgminer, the command to start would look something like this: c: cd ~\phmsgminer\ setx GPU_MAX_ALLOC_PERCENT 100 setx GPU_USE_SYNC_OBJECTS 1 sgminer.exe -k darkcoin -o stratum+tcp://lotterymining.com:4444 -u Me.MySlave -p Pass -I 14 Where Me is my sign-in name and MySlave is a worker I set up. Pass is your password and -I 14 is the intensity I'm using, which you may want to experiment to see what works for your rig Unfortunately, I don't know BAMT

wow nice feature... I can not check all coins for hard forks twice a day, so if you really ever plan to hard fork again and dont want to see this fail please give pool operators a fair chance to notice prior hard fork appears. thanks. please confirm my daemon is on the correct chain: a@q:~/darkcoin-0.9/src$ ./darkcoind getblockcount 34146 a@q:~/darkcoin-0.9/src$ ./darkcoind getblockhash 34146 00000000005670c28cbd15569061464b9ade0dcd52aac046dd90d62675f782a0 I have to agree with this guy. If there are pools signed up with us, the developers or someone in charge should have an email or pm list where they can send it out once and inform them all. This is kind of basic. In fact, maybe it should be an email list anyone interested in darkcoin can join, including nobodies like me. I can't see myself being as glued to this thread as I have been forever. My interests always wonder and I get interested in something about once ever year to two years, LOL, but keep my toes in all of my past interests and sometimes come back around to them. So I'd love to be on a list that alerts me as well as others I'm sure! coin has already many innovations and more upgrades are coming every other day...
what coin needs now is actual things to buy with and more public to know about it...
for now all we can do is buy bitcoin and guns...we need more people accepting at their stores darkcoin...more people to sell stuff here on the forums for darkcoins...etc
Well, I do want a lady smith with roses carved on it...... Yes, this will take the longest and will be the hardest achievement of the coin. Will try with the newer (v0.9.0.1) git, hopefully this time it is ok for my p2pool... I hate to say that but this was really not a smooth hard fork. :/
I know, he goofed up and miscalculated the speed. Thought he was giving until tomorrow night. But we love Evan so we'll forgive him, hope you can too Well like I've said before, this is my full time job. After DarkSend is done and opensourced, we'll move on to whatever the community wants. I just want to make a coin to take the 2nd spot, I think we can do it. There's not many coins with a full time dev onboard.
I KNOW you can do it! And I'm ready to adopt you , I'm so proud, LOL
