It is becoming unlikely that we'll see $300 this year.

TIME TO PANIC

$300 per mBTC  Smiley

If rpietila lost faith in his ultra bullish (verging on bull-shit) stance, it's as if pope said "ok, there is no god"  Grin
He has been in a mental institution, probably just got a reality check and have now readjusted the target. He is still bullish, and a super node, you, on the other hand, is neither, if I had to guess.

Suuuupppernode lifestyle here we come  Grin Grin

and welcome back rpietila!

why would i learn a backward language like that

because English is not a single language in the world. So shut up telling not native english speakers how they need to talk.
Smiley

300k here we come!
1026  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer - MtGoxUSD wall movement tracker - Hardcore on: June 09, 2013, 07:35:29 PM
Sold some at 98ish, sold some at the bottomish around $90 (as usual).

IMO the case for the "correction" is officially debunked, we are officially in the bubble deflation process, thus I expect it to go lower. Testing $80, and if it falls, testing $50. I'll load the truck at that point.

I would love for it to be fast, as we could enter a mid term growth phase quicker, but I'm afraid it will be long process. I expect plenty of traps and mini sucker rallies, as usual during bubbles deflation.

Edit: it hurts to sell coins, those paper wallets really looked at me with sad eyes, but at the end of the day the purpose is for them to be replenished ASAP with more coins they holded now.

I'm now a lonely bear with only 20% of the BTC holdings I had a couple of weeks ago, at least I can comfort myself thinking that I'm still a supernode, of the lowest grade, but still a supernode at the end of the day  Grin

How does it feel?

What supernode types were there again?
0.0th class supernode = BTC1M
0.5th class supernode = BTC100,000
1.0st class supernode = BTC10,000
1.5th class supernode = BTC3,000
2.0nd class supernode = BTC1,000
2.5th class supernode = BTC300
3.0th class supernode = BTC100

$102!! And rising! You guys getting ready for the supernode lifestyle ?  Grin

If you want to make a river, pour water on the mountain top.

This is only one of many reasons I choose Ripple as a better world currency alternative.  There are vastly more XRP's.  So many in fact, it could be literally hundreds of year, if ever, that you would need to calculate beyond the 3rd decimal.  It's nearly impossible to do this with Bitcoin because there are only 11 million of them and at most 21 million.  And that doesn't account for how many have been or will be lost forever.  I know what you'll say, "Bitcoin can be broken down to 8 decimal places."  What the vast majority of people say is, "Who cares, what a pain in the arse to deal with .00239484 of something."  And I agree.
Wow... just wow dude.... if that really is a problem why don't we just multiply all bitcoins in existence with 1000 ? Nobody loses and you get that vastly more bitcoins you're looking for Wink

But in that case, mBTC and later uBTC or satoshi will basically do the same thing, in solving this "problem".

No, you're trying to fit a square peg in a round hole.  And honestly, nobody cares.  We didn't ask to have the wheel reinvented, we just said build a better wheel.
So moving the decimals a few zero's to the left is "building a better wheel"?

why else would I buy something using bitcoin instead of dollars?

Bitcoin is a deflationary currency. I bought coins back in 2011 and 2012, those have now massively increased in value. I'm kind of a minimalist so I don't buy much, but if I wanted to, I could now go to bitcoinstore.com or whatever and have purchasing power many times what I put in. So the first question to ask yourself is maybe, could it be worth buying bitcoin, and save them for later. So instead of buying the exact number you need to purchase something today, buy 10 times more than you need, or 100 times. And keep the money there for the day you will actually need it.

Yeah that's the point upon which we agree, it's a thing that could boom. Thing that I can sell 100 of in 10 years and get myself maybe a nice flat? I want to believe in that becuse, hell, who does not want to be rich Wink But otherwise its only USE that does not involve unnecessary hassle is silkroad. For all other uses there are traditional methods.
Eventually it will become valuable and adopted enough to be stable. At that point it will be a flourishing economy. Just look at liberty reserve and similar payment systems. They are doing great, without people like you. But I think bitcoin can even work for people like you, eventually, but we are many years off.

edit: and if you are using SR, it already does work for you, even though it doesn't satisfy all your needs yet.

Why would you do it? I really have no idea. You don't particularly strike me as the kind of guy who appreciates what bitcoin has to offer that the traditional finance system does not. Or maybe you're just confused and expect bitcoin to be another paypal right off the bat. But it doesn't work like that, this technology has to mature, become trusted, a store of value.

So instead of buying the exact number you need to purchase something today, buy 10 times more than you need, or 100 times. And keep the money there for the day you will actually need it.

I think that bitcoin needs to establish itself as a store of value, to really take full advantage of the payment features. If people don't trust it as a store of value, and have to "deposit" bitcoin everytime they want to buy something, that kind of makes it pointless. And for people who think of it like that, it won't work. You need to have more faith in bitcoin than to use it as a method of shuffling money through. It's not suppose to be an exchange.

Now second point is, those who earn their money in BTC. This is an fantastic opportunity for them to earn and spend their money, tax free. This is a huge deal. And it works in any business accepting bitcoin. It's a way to earn money in the black market and spend it in legitimate shops like bitcoinstore etc.

The only reason to go through hassle of getting bitcoin is using silkroad
1036  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: FBI wants backdoor to all software on: June 06, 2013, 05:43:10 PM
So effectively this backdoor will have to be added not only to software created and distributed within the US, but internationally, otherwise one cannot sell/provide software to US customers.

Is that a list of some obscure vendors who support them? Is any of them 10% as popular as silkroad?
Namecheap is an ICANN-accredited domain registrar and web hosting company, based in Los Angeles, California. They claim to have over 3 million domain names under management and more than 800000 customers.

Just out of interest, you don't agree that silkroad is the major force that will prevent bitcoins from falling into single digits if something terrible happens like mtgox and major exchanges closing (or some other crisis, exact nature is not the point of this question)? Do you think this namecheap thing if 10% as significant?
Not really. I think we're past the silk road phase at this point, you're overestimating how much effect it has versus other bitcoin businesses. I've seen us going from back in 2011 when I was able to keep up with pretty much *every* news article and *every* new business launch, to now, where even if all I did 24 hours a day was trying to keep up I wouldn't be able to. These are different times.

But I still think Bitcoin is currently overvalued.  Wink

The truth is, outside speculation, bitcoin is only supported by silkroad. Imagine speculators leaving, and silkroad shutting down.
