Sorry for basic question, but do I have to have my computer on and wallet open 24/7 to contstantly stake my BTCD coins?

I believe so, but...

In a few weeks you can swap your BTCD to KMD. With KMD the "staking" is even easier, and anyone can do it, and you will get the same 5 % APR.

guys is it easy to allow KMD for alternative anon tech? just for marketing purposes. If it's not very hard to do - allowing different tech of anon - just because people have some beliefs - could be good marketing strategy. Obviously here I'm talking about monero tech  Roll Eyes

Or monero can be simply used by iguana wallet as alternative currency? so in the end those users will be attracted as well?

Perfect would be to have some kind of ?API? to easily plug in alternative anon tech if any new/better/more wanted by people appears.

We cannot add any additional privacy features, and it's not even needed as the zk-SNARK technology alone makes everything 100% private.

The Iguana wallet can support all bitcoin compatible coins, like Komodo and Zcash. From the monero's thread I found: "Monero (XMR) is a privacy-focused cryptocurrency that is not based on Bitcoin's code", so I'm afraid it's not possible to use monero in Iguana wallet.

The skepticism towards Zcash has nothing to do with its privacy technology, but with the 'toxic waste' that would allow someone to print new money into existence. However, that would require that all 6 persons who took part in the "ceremony" colluded together. The good thing though is, that this 'toxic waste' doesn't risk anyones anonymity and everyone can monitor that the Zcash/Komodo supply stays in its limitations. Even if they would create this toxic waste they could not make the private payments transparent.

In all scenarios the private transactions made by Komodo or Zcash stay 100% private.

We have a pleasure to share a great article with you!

Smith & Crown approached us a week or so ago and interviewed jl777. They did an in-depth research and produced an excellent article about us.

This is true journalism as it is not a sponsored article, but a creation of their own. With quality work like this they will acquire a bigger audience I'm sure. At least I'll be reading their other articles, because as a reader/student of crypto I want unfiltered and unbiased content.

Through how many after the ICO, the coin will be released on the exchange?

We will distribute the coins ~ 2 weeks after the ICO. We don't know when the exchanges will list us, you will have to ask them about it!

How much time will be allowed for the BTCD swap after the ICO? Since distribution is planned within 2 weeks of the ICO, all BTCD swaps should be completed before that right?

You will be able to swap to get the coins at the same time as everyone else.

We will reserve enough KMD so we are able to swap every BTCD. The BTCD can be swapped at any time for one full year.

Thanks for the reply. Obviously not all of the BTCD will be swapped since some will be lost etc. So what would happen to the remaining KMD supply reserved for BTCD swaps?

They would be used as working capital for development.

On Saturday November 5th we joined Lootz on his radio show. From our team we had:

Satinder Grewal (Technical Expert, GUI Dev)
    Audo (Community Manager)

We talked about Komodo’s dPoW and other things in an easily understandable way. It was a great interview!

Listen the interview if you haven't already.

Iguana GUI update by boogieman

Quote
The GUI update:
1. 0.1.1 release
Though we decided to switch to Angular, we still try to keep to the deadlines and release.
So in 0.1.1 we mainly closed some bugs and made up some code and view optimizations:
- Fixed add-wallet bug with modal
- Fixed price on Dashboard page bug
- Fixed rates update
- Fixed Create Wallet Flow
- Optimized modals for tablet view
2.  As Angular rework will take some time we decided to break the features upgrade steadily until the next major release which will be devoted to KOMODO mainnet launch.
So we are a bit ahead with user stories and mockups with @antonleogky. As we were a bit pressed by the first release deadline, we omitted some cool features in UX/UI, so now we are putting them up.

3. Have something cool for Iguana Update blog, so stay tuned, will publish tomorrow.

Big up!

Iguana is a cryptocurrency multiwallet, and thus it can also be used to send/receive Komodo in transparent mode. Satinder Grewal is developing EasyDEX GUI, which will allow those coins to be traded on a decentralized exchange. Just few days ago we published a new whitepaper about it. EasyDEX GUI can also be used to send Komodo's anonymous payments.

https://github.com/SuperNETorg/Iguana-GUI/releases

There are multiple different projects under SuperNET, but they all are connected in some ways, and they all leverage from each other. In this case there are even two different GUI teams, but those too work together whenever it is possible.

Iguana's back-end is really the thing that is powering everything we do. Here's a quote from jl777:

There are some questions about how iguana relates to komodo.

I have been working on a single codebase for the last 2 years. It is usually about 100,000 lines of C, though it fluctuates in size as I deprecate parts that I am able to improve and of course I am always adding to it.

Basically all my crypto code goes into the iguana codebase and docs.supernet.org shows the external API set. However, there is a lot more functionality that is purely internal. Think of it as a wide ranging toolkit that has code to do pretty much anything related to crypto and even some things that are just OS independent ways of dealing with large realtime datasets and networking.

One of the things komodo needs are notary nodes. Inside iguana there is support for special purpose relays. So, what I did was create an instance of these iguana relays and customized it to be notary nodes. I extracted the lowest level pubkey messaging and the notary nodes now support just this. However, creating a p2p network is not exactly a matter of a simple function call, so I also created a special coin called "NOTARY". This is a coin without a blockchain and I made it so I can use the existing iguana peer management to spawn the notary nodes network.

As you can see, there is no simple way to explain how iguana relates to komodo. I will be adding voting support into the notary nodes and they will inject into the komodo network special "notarized" messages using an extended bitcoin protocol. Ths way, the amount of code that has to go inside the komodo is minimized and the less code there is, the less bugs.

One benefit of splitting out the NOTARY functionality is now, the DEX code can be run on even a basilisk node, which means you can run an LP node on a basilisk instance for a coin, though probably best to have a full iguana node if you will be competing with the realtime auctions.

I made some simple scripts that allows a node to add itself to the NOTARY network either as a notary node or as a client. For the voting, all the stakeholders would connect to the NOTARY network and vote. I came up with an interesting way to do the voting for the notary nodes that allows anybody to join as a candidate node, but only the nodes with the most votes will be actively participating in the block generation. I still need to finish coding it, but it avoids the problem of notary nodes creating blocks with the info that elects notary nodes. I also think it can be made to be near realtime performance, though I need to get it running first to verify its performance level.

Once we can get a validated and ranked list of notary nodes, then it will be possible to write the komodo side code that accepts the notarized messages.

what is the ICO price of Komodo ,is it still possible to enter this ICO. what is the expected risk return if i am investing in this coin?

Two weeks left!

You will have to make the investment risk analysis yourself, but I can tell you the situation.

From the komodoplatform.com website you can see how many BTC we have raised, then you can scroll down and download our ICO calculator. Then you can insert the numbers from the post above and try to speculate what we could raise during the last two weeks.

With the calculator you can calculate how big our market cap would be. With the amount we have raised today it would be ~ 8,000,000 USD

Then you got to understand our vision, who's in our team, and keep track about how our development is going. We try to our best to communicate that, but the project is large in scale. I recommend you visit our website and then the OP of this thread & the very first comment below it. From there you can find everything we have published during this ICO.

First and foremost I recommend two links:
 1) A Guide to Better Understand Komodo
 2) Our latest newsletter

I hope you found this helpful!

Is notary election based on btcd owners as voter base only, or kmd ICO + btcd?

BTCD can be swapped to KMD after the ICO, we will give more info later.

You can only vote with your KMD stake.

It is quiet in here Smiley

Maybe you guys haven't realized yet, but things are getting really exciting:

 - We are using Zcash mainnet version
 - We have 42 active notary nodes
 - Our testnet is about to officially become our mainnet
 - We are already notarizing our blockchain to Bitcoin blockchain
 - We already have 33 dPoW secured assetchains (32 fiat chains and REVS asset)

That's not all... read our latest newsletter to get the full picture.

Do you guys provide facebook and twitter bounties like Iconomi did?

No we don't have any social media bounty campaigns.

How many times changing first was zcash and now is zcash dark?

Sorry, I don't understand the question. Can you elaborate? Smiley

do we have an explanation how PAX (fiat <-> crypto exchange) works?

Wait for PAX whitepaper. When? Don't ask me. Only James knows. He'll write it.

Yes we are working on it, jl777 has submitted some parts already, hard to say when it is ready completely ready though.

Another Iguana GUI update from Boogieman

Quote
The GUI update
1.  We decided to improve development environment and apply Angular framework.
The code base has been  "getting worse in terms of scaling and maintenance", so migration to a framework is a prevent measure.
The risk of delivering an oversized product is false, as the size of the files will be within 2 Mb.
2.  Screens  responsive optimization for mobile is almost done, some issues with styles left to be closed soon.
3.   The content text was refactored so anyone can contribute to localization or better wording. This will give us to support different languages in soon releases. More languages, more users. https://raw.githubusercontent.com/SuperNETorg/Iguana-GUI/0.1.1/js/lang/en.js
4.  We also upgrading mockups with new requirements arose both for Iguana and Non-Iguana flow.
5.  I started a blog on the Iguana App development https://steemit.com/iguana/@boogieman/iguana-updates
I plan to make one post a week or two along with brief updates like this one.
And we are still awaiting to get a full promo site soon for Iguana App exclusively.
We certainly need to plan and execute some marketing activity, as soon as we get the app working stable and available to install and use for regular users, which will happen soon.  I'm not giving any precise date, we agreed to reconfirm the date with KOMODO guys on the ICO completion.
6. We have been joined by a second testing engineer today, so expecting to finally agree on git flow and get testing environment setup and testing procedure launched.

Be sure to follow his blog!  Smiley

You can follow the GUI development and commits from https://github.com/SuperNETorg/Iguana-GUI/commits/0.1.1

Announcement

Two-factor authentication is now possible on our ICO site.

This feature is a bit late, sorry for the delay!

Another Announcement

We have finished our second whitepaper! It will be published on Saturday.

It's titled: "EasyDEX – A Practical Native DEX"

Soon anyone can use the Iguana wallet & EasyDEX GUI to store and trade other cryptocurrencies decentrally. That is our vision and that is what we have been developing.

Will this DEX have a mobile app?

Yes, I believe EasyDEX GUI has a mobile version too.

@grewalsatinder can confirm that Smiley

Hi,

one question:
How and when can I change my BTCD in Komodo tockens?

I bought some BTCD on poloniex with the plan to swap it to this coin. When does that happen?

The swap will begin after the ICO. There's more info about the BTCD in our steemit posts.
