10201  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: January 14, 2017, 12:30:22 AM
The way Monero is behaving in the exchanges is showing bad signs. It looks like it has decoupled from bitcoin and if bitcoin starts moving and Monero price stays the same or go down against fiat that would mean a trend down is forthcoming. I am getting scared.
10202  Other / Archival / Re: Which one is more risky? Skill-based gambling or trading? on: January 13, 2017, 01:51:51 AM
All answers here are very simple and spammy bordering to nonsense. I shows that you people do not read a lot.

To answer the question, my opinion on it would be it depends. If you are a gambler in skill based games like poker or sportsbetting then the risk you are taking would depend on your style. Are you a loose gambler or a tight one? Another thing is the kind of poker game or sport you are gambling in. Some are riskier than others because of the nature of the poker game or the sport.

In trading it also depends. Do you trade cryptocoins or bonds? It has the same idea as explained because one is riskier than the other. Which one is that should be obvious.
10203  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Litecoin Core 0.13.2 with SegWit released! on: January 13, 2017, 01:42:07 AM
it's good to see this happening, but think about it, all they did was to copy and paste bitcoin's core hard work. This only further proves bitcoin is king and got the best developers and the rest are just copying what they do.

With that being said, I hope to see segwit activated in litecoin as soon as possible.

The Beauty of "Open Source" LOL

Many people don't view LTC as a replacement though.. more as a supplement.
Since it's harder to get major changes done on Bitcoin..
then it's handy to have a go to coin that coin do them faster to get a preview of how it will work on BTC.

But a supplement of what? Bitcoin does not need a supplement. It is working ok on its own.

On litecoin's segwit implementation, is there really a need for this? Litecoin already is capable of 4 times the speed and capacity of bitcoin per block. What would segwit achieve? Are the blocks already getting full like bitcoin's blocks? I speculate this move is nothing but an attempt to gain some relevancy.
10204  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Bitstamp will add XRP (Ripple) in trade market on: January 13, 2017, 01:33:25 AM
It now all makes some sense. The new, fresh release of more XRP in the market is maybe a deal made with Bitstamp for them to add XRP in their exchange to be made available for trading. In exchange the people at Ripple must have given them an offer of a fixed amount of XRP.
10205  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: January 13, 2017, 01:24:06 AM
You saw what the Fuck is going on since last days on Zcoin?

Price will explode this week or next week.
I heard a lot of rumours untill now.

Some big player are preparing for a big think.

Just look the blockchain someone send the last hour 175000 XZC to a wallet from bittrex.

https://chainz.cryptoid.info/xzc/block.dws?15923.htm

I think, a big news will come in the next day and than also i think polo launch also...

Who has some BTC to play, may better invest know.... maybe it is a raise like last time XMR

Zcoin has nothing on Monero. Please post somewhere else. All of you are here only to make profit in bitcoins by hyping Zcoin which is being built and developed by 2 Asians of questionable capabilities and intentions in the community. The Monero developers and contributers are here for the research and to see if it is possible to scale an anonymous cryptocoin with the use of the technology available to them.
10206  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Motosport General discussion tread --- Formula1, MotoGP, WTCC, ETCC, DTM..... on: January 12, 2017, 01:13:17 AM
@thebatletbet. It is not official yet but we all know that Valteri Bottas will be the next Mercedes driver. An official announcement will come maybe before the end of January. Valteri is the perfect partner for Lewis. He is a decent driver, he follows orders and most importantly he has no ego.
10207  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do you think "iamnotback" really has the" Bitcoin killer"? on: January 12, 2017, 01:02:57 AM
iamnotback ........you had me at ICO  Roll Eyes

(had me skipping this thread).

I seem to understand why no coin other than Bitcoin and Monero is dominating the scene, the moment you start with an ICO you act like a for-profit company, no one will help your coin else for dosh, if you are an extremely hyped project like Etherium your premine will multiply your wealth and pay for many developers, all on the back of greedier fools, if you are Dash, Zcash or Bytecoin no one will want to help you and you will be viewed as a failed scam, in Bytecoin the tech was good enough to be forked and fair-launched, cryptocurrency is an unique kind of software in intersection of finance and opensource I don't believe, and the data shows that, an ICO or premine is acceptable for any kind of pretended mass-use. But lets hope iamnotback make many millions with his vaporcoin for now so he can sail happily in sunset, why not, worst people have become rich in this "business".

Thanks for the well wishes, but regarding your criticism, you didn't read the thread. Try again.

Satoshi got his 100,000 to 1 million BTC premine. Go re-read my responses about any ICO and keep that fact in mind.

Sorry but how did Satoshi premine any coin? As far as I know, he started mining after announcing and releasing the code on the crypto mailing list. To qualify as a premine, the software must not be released to the public. Of course, back then no one gave a fuck so he mined a lot at the start.

Dude I just hope you are right and can deliver a great coin that makes us rich. The bitcoin boat already sailed, and I dont want to wait 30 fucking years to make a million. And then we have the shitty altcoins that have already also pumped and just stagnate for life now. Theres nothing I can think of to get rich, nothing new or exciting.

Yup and he had to or it wouldn't have fucking worked LOL
Uhhh dumb ass's why do block's get found again ?
man people are smart around here hahahha

And him claiming BTC was premined is the least of it..
He also made it clear he thinks some conspiracy about who made it.
He thinks it's some sort of clandestine NWO Illuminati US govt organized plot to over throw the traditional financial world and cause chaos etc.
Based on what ?
Your guess is as good as mine LOL

Yeah I also think the theory of BTC being a creation of the NSA or whatever other 3 letter agency is a little bit farfetched... where is the proof? And what does the NSA gain by developing a tool that is used to move money around the world outside of their control?

And even if they created it, it can turn against them. US Army created Tor, now they can't control Tor as they admitted in leaked Snowden documents. No one has ever been caught using Tor as far as the person was using updated Tails and no javascript. So even their creations can turn against themselves which is ironic. Shouldn't have they predicted that? I have no idea how the Tor thing works or it was released but that is the fact nowadays.

They are all conspiracy theories and lies to create FUD. We have seen it a lot in the forum and on the internet so everyone should not take them seriously.
10208  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: What are the best exchanges for new altcoins? on: January 12, 2017, 12:59:03 AM
I hate the chinese now. Stop crashing the god damn price you stupid chinks. Im never going to put a single penny on a chinese exchange, I'll keep using other exchanges. Then again if it wasn't the chinese it would be some other exchange crashing the price. Theres always some bullshit happening triggering panic sells. I hate this bullshit.

Are you talking about the bitcoin crash? Since you are posting here I assume you also trade altcoins. A crashing bitcoin is good for the price of altcoins because it gives them the opportunity to go higher in price. Instead of sulking and having a bad mood, you should look for good altcoins to buy and sell.
10209  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UFC 207: Rousey vs Nunes Prediction and Info Thread on: January 12, 2017, 12:54:19 AM
I think Rousey's problem is more mental than technical.  We can all blame her coach, her whole team or whoever.  But bottom line she shouldn't have taken this fight.  Nunes is expected to be a high level fighter, so Rousey should have had a tune up fight first before going for the championship.  It would be better for her mentally and her confidence.
Well if she is starting to quote Rowlings for inspiration then you know a screw is loose somewhere after getting knocked out.
http://yahoo.com/sports/news/ronda-rousey-posts-j-k-rowling-inspired-quote-on-instagram-cyborg-responds-010002720.html

Or she is saying that she is not retiring and I hope she continues on. She is good for the sport and it will make things more interesting in the UFC if she is still around. My only wish is to see her in a good training camp the next time she decides to fight. I speculate she will be in the training camp of Jon Jones soon.

I also think Jon Jones might start training her on the striking part, she can't rule the division anymore only relying on judo and very poor striking skills, also needs better grappling and takeovers. We'll see what happens but I don't feel bad for her at all. She is rich while I have to work to pay the bills so fuck that.

Why do you think Jon Jones himself will train her? He could help train her but not in the striking part of the game. Jon Jones has a good wrestling background. If there is something he can teach it is wrestling. Jackson-Wink MMA is considered the best camp in the world. If Ronda really wants to train there she will have to train with Holly Holm. Maybe it will be good for her to train with someone who beat her.
10210  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: January 12, 2017, 12:44:30 AM
Check XMR/USDT in Poloniex and compare it with BTC/USD. It is beginning to appear that Monero is following bitcoin's price. Are we seeing XMR becoming the real silver to bitcoin's gold? Some say what about litecoin? Litecoin is a 200+ million market cap of nothing.

thats actually interresting, why is litecoin having a 200m marketcap? why do people buy litecoin? i bought because of a "maybe" situation but ive been holding for 4 years now, afaik nothing happening that i should get excited about

It has the utmost support of the Chinese miners which are the majority in litecoin. They have a small hardware making mining industry behind it. So they cannot let the coin die. We in the community have been praising ASIC resistant coins but maybe some kind of specialized hardware manufacturing industry behind a coin could also be good.

@lemipawa. Can you post the link of that story? Was BJ really injured and had to pull out at the event in the Philippines? Because the story I heard was your government wanted to test all the staff and the fighters of the UFC for drug use. Maybe Dana White got offended or maybe he knows a lot of the staff use drugs in one form or another so they had to cancel the event.

We all know Joe Rogan is a marijuana user and is open about it. Maybe there are a lot more people using it in the UFC.
10214  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: What are the best exchanges for new altcoins? on: January 11, 2017, 12:33:51 AM
I only know yobit. Yobit is adding new altcoin. Either shitcoins or not, they add it. Some exchanges are not adding new coins because it will be a waste of time adding altcoins that is possibly a scam. They trade only good altcoins in the market. Anyway, Im not using Yobit because its not user friendly. Its not good for newbies.

You only know Yobit? How long have you been here in the forum? I find that hard to believe.

Anyway if you check Yobit most of the coins the have listed are 99% shitcoins because they encourage it in their platform. It is good that you discourage newbies from trading there but your reasoning is wrong. You should discourage them from trading there simply because the coins there are not worth it to buy, especially if the newbies intend to hold them for a long time.

That does not mean if you plan an ICO it will not look like a scam. Almost all of the people who come here and join the community have become jaded. People who start an ICO are like politicians. There lots of promises at the start and then when they get what they want they steal from the people who believed in them.

Please stop justifying your scam ICO's by citing the Satoshi premine. If it really was a premine.
10216  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do you think "iamnotback" really has the" Bitcoin killer"? on: January 10, 2017, 02:11:25 AM
You guys do not pay attention to my work. That is why you are putting your feet in your collective mouths.

Let him face and debate with the people like Adam Back or Peter Todd if he can really do it. Iamnotback is maybe looking for validation in the forum.

Peter Todd will recognize part of my design since he did some of the prior art for it.

Adam Back is not as astute as you may think. Hashcash was a rehash of some prior art done before. The references to prove this are cited in my white paper. Blockstream is a bunch of blockheads.

Quote
block·head
ˈbläkˌhed

a stupid person.

I am going to laughing my head off when you pinheads eat your words.

Obviously Gmaxwell and Adam Back, etc are smart mathematicians. But we are talking software here, not math. Math is a very small part of what is required here. Mathematicians can be hired (the cryptography skills are fungible as it is taught in the university). Creative genius can't be hired and the skill is not fungible. Peter Todd is actually one of the most inventive in terms of actually solving the decentralization problem. If you asked me who I respect, I would say that would be the venerable Daniel Bernstein, who Gregory Maxwell even tried to challenge in an ego battle.

Andrew Poelstra didn't even understand (or wasn't aware of) the FLP impossibility result until someone else pointed it out to him (which is an acceptable mistake except that those asshurls are so critical of others):

1To ensure that the “true ledger” is visible to all participants, we require a synchronous network such that all (valid) data
reaches all participants in some characteristic time λ, and that the network heartbeat time is much larger than λ. Without a
synchronous network, distributed consensus is much harder. (There is an oft-cited impossibility result for distributed consensus
using deterministic algorithms [FLP85]; this is easy to evade simply by using probabilistic algorithms, and therefore
doesn’t say much about the difficulty of designing consensus systems. Thanks to Dominic Williams for pointing this out;
an earlier version of this document erroneously quoted this result as blocking any distributed consensus in an asynchronous
network.)

I wouldn't be so critical of Blockstream if they respected others (which afaics Daniel Bernstein does respect other humans). But they are such arrogant asshurls, that there is no point of even trying to work with them. The community really hates gmaxwell and with good reason. He has destroyed Bitcoin forcing it in a direction that is totally broken.

Have you not seen my recent revelation that Sidechains are insolubly insecure! There I go again being the guy who points out that every design Maxwell does is a failure.

https://github.com/cosmos/cosmos/issues/46 (Are sidechains broken in PoW?)

What you say now guys. Cat bit your tongue? Lol.

Yes we now know that sidechains are impossible to secure but it looked so good on paper the first time it was conceptualized so maybe the thinkers thought it was worth it to explore that area.

Back to you sir, I do not mean any disrespect and I say this with no intention to offend you. How can we believe in you and what you say if you have not shown us any of your work that is beneficial to the community? Do that and you will win us over.
10217  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: What are the best exchanges for new altcoins? on: January 10, 2017, 02:02:46 AM
It seems from http://coinmarketcap.com/exchanges/volume/24-hour/all/ that those exchanges have a good volume and a big selection of altcoins to trade:

https://www.livecoin.net/

https://hitbtc.com

http://www.btc38.com

https://bter.com

https://c-cex.com

https://www.cryptopia.co.nz

I usually only trade on Poloniex and Bittrex anyway.

Yes just stick to Poloniex and Bittrex. All the other exchanges you mentioned have no volume or have been hacked. BTER was hacked before and got millions of NXT stolen. BTC38 was hacked for 1.5 million dollars worth of bitcoins. The rest are minor players in the cryptosphere.

I want to add that Poloniex was hacked years ago but have made good with their users and is now the no.1 altcoin exchange.
10218  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Holyshit! HUGE Litecoin news: Segwit & more updates to be deployed Jan 1st! on: January 10, 2017, 01:53:17 AM
What makes you think that Litecoin will reach 75% easily? In Bitcoin we are struggling to get 30% because people is fucking stupid and they take ages to get with the program and start updating their software, and of course we also have illiterate morons buying the Roger Ver anti segwit propaganda which doesn't help.

It would be cool if Litecoin can bypass all of it being a tiny coin compared to Bitcoin and get segwit going, but im not sure if Litecoin will have sidechains which is a cool feature that will be perfected with segwit.

Whilst Litecoin and Bitcoin do share some of the big Chinese pools, the Litecoin developers have been in close contact with pools. We have talked and hope that we are able to reach this 75% majority. It is much more likely this will happen on Litecoin earlier than Bitcoin.

This kind of connivance will hurt the decentralization of litecoin. The best way to do it is for the developers to update litecoin and leave the mining pools, the miners, the full node operators and the litecoin community to decide if they want the update or not.
10219  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UFC 209: Woodley vs Thompson Info and Prediction Thread on: January 10, 2017, 01:40:51 AM
No comment or predictions for Tyrone Woodley versus Wonderboy yet. I will just wait for the odds to be posted in the sportsbetting sites and see what they think. This is so close that an underdog odds in this fight is not really one.

Maybe if Wonderboy threw more strikes in the first fight he might have won it. But that will also make Tyrone open up and counter him with a bull rush. The rematch might be another tie? hehehe
10220  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UFC FN 103: Rodriguez vs. Penn Info and Prediction Thread on: January 10, 2017, 01:24:15 AM
@eaLiTy. Yair Rodriguez is stronger than BJ Penn. Watch his past fights and see how good he is in both striking and on the ground. Also BJ is coming out of retirement. So how can you be not so sure that Yair is stronger than his opponent? My bet is for BJ but Yair has the higher chance to win this fight.
