Nachdem ich CPU, GPU und FPGA Mining verpasst habe, dachte ich daran mit ASICs anzufangen. Dummerweise habe ich mir genau die beiden Lieferanten rausgesucht, die nichts auf die Reihe kriegen (wollen). War ein Versuch, hat aber nicht funktioniert. Die investierten BTC habe ich inzwischen auch abgeschrieben. Damit ist das Thema Mining für mich erledigt - ich  kaufe meine BTC lieber - und ich kann die ganze Entwicklung entspannt verfolgen.

As the Avalon has a working ASIC now, the clock is ticking for BFL. AFAIK they have now working silicon right now and if the current waver run fail, we will see another 12++ week shift.

If BFL shift again, I expect they will see a wave of refund requests rolling in. The interesting question is, will BFL follow the bASIC road? Really bad, if there will be an Avalon monopoly in the future.

Sich Argumente ersparen, wenn Lösungen gefragt sind, führt aber nicht weiter. Bisher haben wir Ansätze aber keine Lösungen. Die Argumente von Nachtwind und Chefin waren für mich sehr wohl stichhaltig: Wenn Du jetzt hergehst und die Errungenschaften einer Gruppe nutzt, aber nichts zur Erarbeitung derselben beitragen möchtest, ist das zunächst mal asozial. Mit der gleichen Einstellung kann ich dann auch bei Dir vorbeikommen und Dir Dein Essen, oder was Du sonst noch hast, wegnehmen ohne selber etwas dafür zu tun. Da Du aber eine Gruppe hast, schaffe ich das alleine nicht und brauche deshalb auch eine schlagkräftige Gruppe - nennen wir die Gruppen Räuberbanden. Du musst also Deine Gruppe vergrössern. Das mache ich dann auch und nebenbei brauche ich bessere Waffen usw, usw. Diese Entwicklung kommt mir bekannt vor und ist für mich keine Lösung. Also?

Über den Anteil der systembedingten zu den generellen Problemen lässt sich streiten. Insgesammt bin ich genau wegen den systembedingten Problemen auch für die Freigabe. Soll jeder machen was er will, solange es nur ihn selber betrifft.

Nein. Dazu gibt es zu viele Beispiele bis hin zu Naturvölkern, bei denen Rauschmittel konsumiert werden. Den systembedingen Anteil aus der Welt zu schaffen heisst nicht, keine Probleme mehr damit zu haben.


Jemand den auf den Kick / das Erlebniss steht? Ich denke unabhängig vom Umfeld wird es immer Menschen geben, die auf die eine oder andere Art die Grenzen austesten wollen. Und welche die sowieso zu einem Teil in einer eigenen Welt leben und unabhängig vom Umfeld zum Medikamentenmissbrauch / Drogengebrauch neigen.

Dass man mit einem anderen System alle Probleme aus der Welt schafft ist eine Utopie. Man kann diese Systeme als Modell ansehen. Daran zu glauben, dass damit automatisch alle Probleme verschwinden, halte ich für naiv.

Dass manche Drogen nicht nur eine friedliche Bewusstseinserweiterung zur Folge haben, sondern zu Selbstüberschätzung und Grössenwahn führen können. Abhängigkeit - auch wenn die offizellen Quellen es in einigen Fällen stark übertreiben - sehe ich jetzt auch nicht unbedingt als positiv an.

Noch nicht kapiert? Die Fixkosten und Nebenkosten steigen auch wenn weniger verbraucht wird. D.h. je mehr gespaart wird, desto teurer wird der Strom. Daneben werden inzwischen auch noch die Subventionen für Grossverbraucher (Energieintensive Industrie bezahlt 5 c/kWh) umgelegt. Wer Strom aus erneuerbaren Quellen bezieht muss zur Strafe nun doppelt zahlen. Ein umgehen der Monopolisten wie beim Bitcoin ist beim Strom leider etwas schwierig/teuer, wenn man nicht gerade die Gartenhütte als Referenz nimmt.

I bet in case of a lower BTC price the message would be, that he held the bitcoins in escrow and do the refund in BTC. However, chances are good that there will be no BTC refund at all.

But the lesson is learned: I never will do any BTC pre-payment with a noticeable amount again. None of my bitcoins will be stored under third party control (web wallet, online service) and exchange amounts will be very limited and immediately transferred to accounts that are completely under my control. Way too many crooks in the bitcoin world.

That doesen't matter anymore. With the rising bitcoin price everyone who trusted Tom and paid with BTC is screwed anyway. There are rumors that Tom did not change the bitcoins into USD so he is now making tons of money by doing a refund of the USD price in BTC. Maybe he is just waiting a little bit longer and starting the BTC refund when the price is much higher. With this strategy everybody will be happy and Tom can start the next 'successful' long con, eh business.

Trotzdem bin ich für einen freien Handel/Konsum und finde SR gut. Die allgemeinen negativen Aspekte trage ich sowieso schon mit und die Kriminalisierung verursacht zusätzliche Probleme.

If this is would be true there is no reason to hold back refunds. In this case refund everybody, build the damn bASIC devices and ask for the money when the product is available.

As long as I did not receive a full refund, I expect a bASIC to be delievered ASAP. So don't piss your customers (as long as you did not refund we are your customers), don't drink but build and deliver the bASICs. Throwing bullshit at us will not help you.


If you feel pressured this is not our fault. You decided to take the pre-order money and you decided to start this communication disaster. You are responsible to deliver the bASIC ASAP and if you are not able to do this, you owe us an immediate refund. We delivered our money in full so now it's your part to deliver what you sold us.

I personally think there will be no (BTC) refund and no product. Why do all those scammers make excuses and not just silence and run?

I don't know if this is working with my system (AMD E350 single chip CPU/GPU). Most of the GPU parameters are read-only. Control is very limited with this mobile chip.

I found that even with DPMS=false the screen blanker was enabled. I tried to set 'xset s noblank' and 'xset q' shows now 'prefer blanking: no'. Since I switched this parameter I did not see a single line in the log with the lower GPU frequency. Now I let the miner run and see if it is still working in 24 hours.

I have no idea why this problem did no show up with the old version.
