10381  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Blowback (rant against the haters) on: February 26, 2018, 08:02:24 PM
If I made 4x my original investment, there wouldn't be any words in the language that could get me upset--so don't let the haters get you down.

What it sounds like is ignorance and jealousy.   Not saying your people suck, but be careful who you associate with.  If you hang out with 11 losers, you'll probably end up making it an even dozen.

Me, I could've made that kind of profit had I just held at $2000.  I've been in crypto since bitcoin was at $200-$400, so I missed out on even bigger gains. Oh well. And most people I know haven't even got a clue what bitcoin is, so there's no negativity about crypto in my life.
10382  Other / Meta / Re: Merit & new rank requirements on: February 26, 2018, 06:51:48 PM
Bloody hell, I get the point, I really do. But it won't prevent from shitposting anyway, It will just be a pain in the ass for new users, who are just starting their journey in crypto world. They won't be able to post quality content, as they don't have any knowledge. Being a Jr Member all that time will be just demotivating for young fellows. It'll be way way harder to rank up now. Daamn, I mean it's just too subjective.
Then they don't need to post before they do a whole bunch of reading, do they?

That's what I did.  I lurked for months before even creating an account, and it was more months before I joined a signature campaign.

These days we've got whole towns in Asia coming here just for the campaigns, and they are all shitposters and they all sound alike.  So it's too damn bad that these noobs won't rank up.  They shouldn't be able to, and the merit system is near perfect for ensuring that.
10383  Other / Meta / Re: Merit Requirements too difficult to JR. Members on: February 26, 2018, 04:45:32 AM
many signature campaign bounties are closing for jr members like us. Gaining merit is not easy i have many quality post also but i didnt get merit.  just post informative and useful in this forum. keep on trying and dont be discourage in merit system. goodluck
The only thing you post are bloated dissertations on how great bitcoin is and how we need knowledge and hardwork to acheeve our goals and we can do trading to earn higher profit and sell when bitcoin is high....does that all sound familiar?  You post the same uninteresting, poorly-written shit as every other person in your dirt road village.

None of your posts stand out in the mega spam threads you post in, so what do you expect?

The only way you're ever going to get enough merit to rank up is if you suck off the right merit source, and I'm sure the line for that one extends around the block.  It's members like you that I'm waiting for to give up the futile effort and just go away.

You are not wanted.
10384  Economy / Reputation / Re: False accusation / Bias to other member on: February 26, 2018, 04:20:48 AM
OP, your posts are sloppily written, formatted, and are in broken English.  You're obviously just posting here because you get paid to do so, and you lucked out that Yahoo62278 accepted you into his campaign.  You're a shitposter who won't be missed.

If you'd bothered to read any of the threads in Scam Accusations, Meta, or Reputation, you'd know that if two accounts use the same address for campaigns, the community doesn't buy the excuse that these are friends/family/whatever.  That will earn both accounts a red trust, and deservedly so.

You also do not deserve as much merit as you have, given the crap that you've churned out.  That's my opinion, but you got busted--rightly--for farming merit, and that'll stick.

If you fucking morons imbeciles would stop using the format LLLLL## in your usernames, you might be a little harder to spot, but the stupidity runs too deep for pattern recognition with you guys, apparently.
10385  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Are you sick of cliche trading advice? on: February 26, 2018, 02:54:09 AM
OP, if you're new to bitcointalk you might not be aware that there are these things called signature campaigns, where businesses rent out members' signature and/or avatar spaces, and some of the campaigns pay enough to finance a pimp lifestyle for those who live in 3rd world countries.  It's astounding.

My point is that a LOT of people here are only posting because they get paid to do it, and a lot of them are uneducated knuckleheads who have great difficulty stringing words together so that they form coherent sentences.  The end result is that they learn how to write a small number of thoughts, and a lot of them are ideas they've copied from places, and none of it is original or interesting.  That's the main reason you keep reading the same shit over and over.  I think of this forum as a bullshit words reconstitution factory, because that's what they all do.  One of the cliches I see very often is "Never gamble [or invest] more than you're prepared to lose", which should be obvious to any rational person, but these shitposters find it necessary to write this in thread after thread.

So that's the main reason why, OP.  Others might disagree with me, but this is the truth as I see it.
10386  Other / Meta / Re: 1st rank update after the Merit system launch on: February 26, 2018, 02:20:54 AM
Users that complain about Merits or Trust or Rank or whatever should just be snap added to the signature campaign blacklist for a long time.  Fuck them.

I do like the idea, but.. everyone does have a right to speak out.

although the people who are spinning up multiple threads, kicking off against all the DT members who have negged them - well they should just be banned off the forum.

Has anyone actually been banned from this forum?
I have never heard of a ban the only consequence I have already seen multiple times is that an account got so much nagetive trust that no one ever would make any serious interaction with that account again  Grin
Uh, yeah.  People have definitely been banned for shitposting.  I know this because I've seen hilariousandco do it for some of the shitposters I've reported.  And certainly people have been banned for other reasons--copy/pasting is one of the most common offenses.

It kinda sucks that I have no more leveling up to do, but I'm glad I reached Legendary right before the merit system was put in place.  It's also a relief that I no longer feel the need to give negative trusts to shitposters.  That was a pain in the ass, unpopular, not a good use of the trust system, and got me on and off DT probably in record fucking time.  This is a much more elegant solution.  Still would be nice if there was something above legendary, but I think Theymos nixed that idea.
10387  Other / Meta / Re: This might work to earn Merit from higher ranked members on: February 26, 2018, 01:04:32 AM
When nullius is really going at it, his posts are so good they become harder to understand for non-native English speakers
You nailed it on the head, bro.  No-reading-required shitposters have very limited English vocabularies, so I think a lot of what nullius writes sails right over their unwashed heads most of the time.  They certainly can't appreciate why exactly it is that he's gotten so much merit.

I've given out merits to a lot of different users here, and not just to those who are higher ranked.  In fact, I've made it a point to limit the number of merits I give out to legendary members, since they don't really "need" them.  The problem is, and always has been, that bitcointalk is flooded with noob shitposters who don't understand English and don't put any thought into their posts.  The good posts--often by Hero/Legendary members, get silenced amid the roar of garbage posts.  So if it seems like noobs aren't getting a lot of merit, it's true; they're not.  They are in general the least deserving of it, IMO
10388  Economy / Economics / Re: Why the Animosity Towards Banks on: February 26, 2018, 12:39:16 AM
go back to a gold standard or completely adopt crypto.
Jesus, those are alternatives on the complete opposite sides of the spectrum.  I'd say going back to a gold standard is ridiculous at this point, at least in the U.S.
We've gotten so far into the free money printing that I don't think there's any going back from this--there isn't enough gold in the world to back all the money we've printed.  It was a nice thing for many years to have something backing up the currency, but I don't think that's even necessary anymore.

The crypto idea is more of a solid one, but I don't think governments OR banks are going to get behind this unless they come up with their own crypto.  Bitcoin will forever remain borderless, IMO.  Banks are always on the receiving end of hate because they have all the fuckin' money, plain and simple, and they charge you for it.  I don't think they're afraid of crypto, but they sure as hell are being slow to adopt it.  Not sure they ever really will.
10389  Other / Meta / Re: why i do not have merit? on: February 25, 2018, 10:41:52 PM
OP is going on ignore, and frankly I'd advise everyone else here to expand their ignore lists.  If you're trying to write in English but can't, you're not going to get merit outside of the local boards.  I've said this before: there are too many users here vying for merit points and there's not enough to go around.

Your posts have to be pretty damn good to earn merits from total strangers here.  I've given out plenty to users that I'm not familiar with, but most of the posts I've read on this forum are complete garbage--sloppy, broken-English posts that I can tell had no thought or effort put into them.  If your problem is that you don't have skill in writing English, there's no way in hell I'm going to give you merit.  Sounds harsh, but I'm hoping the system Darwins a lot of these bloated gasbags right off the forum, and they end up posting in the Yobit trollbox or something.  Anywhere but on bitcointalk.
10390  Other / Meta / Re: Multiple common topics on: February 25, 2018, 10:07:58 PM
This is one of the first things I noticed about this forum when I started lurking here in 2014 or so--and it's only gotten worse since then, the duplicate, low-value topics that are always written in Bizarro world, "All Your Base" English.

All of this is due to signature campaigns, which pay people to keep creating and posting in the shit topics, and nothing is going to improve unless some major reform is implemented.  The merit system is helping, but shitposters haven't quite gotten the message that there will be no advancement unless you improve your posts.  That goes for everyone.

The only way to truly wipe out the shitposters would be to eliminate signature campaigns altogether, but Theymos isn't willing to do that.  There are just too many garbage posts and too many new accounts for mods to have a chance of making a dent.
10391  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Any idea for poor people? on: February 25, 2018, 08:24:15 PM
Sure, make 'em more literate so their spam will at least make sense.  Eh, no.  Poor people have a lot more problems going on than just illiteracy, though that is still an issue.

Bitcoin wasn't meant to solve problems like poverty, nor was bitcointalk, though I constantly hear people talking as if finding a "job" on this forum is the answer to all prayers.

Poor people need to stop reproducing, that's one thing.  They need to be educated about condoms and so forth.  Bringing a child into a world of deprivation is cruel.  Can't sterilize them anymore, but you can hand out rubbers.

Then there's the rampant substance abuse problem, then there's illiteracy and everything else.  Crypto doesn't help any of that.
10392  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Would you move to a tax haven to protect your crypto trillions? on: February 25, 2018, 08:00:57 PM
This is a moot point for me since I don't have millions of dollars worth of bitcoin, but if I was one of these whales we hear so much about?  Yeah, I'd consider it and seriously do so.  For the tax savings, for sure, but also for two other good reasons.

One, I live in the US and we currently have a genuine psychopath for president, and I'd like to escape his wide swath of destruction.

And two, I suspect the cost of living is a hell of a lot less in a tax haven country, so my bitcoin millions would go farther.  I could have Snickers and blowjobs every evening if I so chose.

I'm somewhat jealous of these Asians from poor countries, because if they actually manage to not get banned here, they could live like a true pimp just from campaign earnings.  I could probably own whatever passes for a mansion if I lived in such a country.
10393  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: 46% of Last Year’s ICOs Have Failed Already on: February 25, 2018, 06:49:06 PM
None of this shit surprises me, and this is why I haven't ever invested in an ICO (plus it's illegal in the states).  Most of these projects are trying to crowbar a blockchain solution onto a problem that doesn't need it.  Most only exist to make the developers a shit ton of money, and every single one of them relies on a gigantic pool of suckers to finance its success.

The little fish in that pool are usually from poor, underdeveloped countries, and they think they're going to get rich quick.   But it doesn't usually turn out that way, does it?   Glad OP posted this, and I do hope the suckers wake up and take notice that most of these scams are doomed to failure.

I suspect most members here don't or can't read, but the results here are kinda too important to skip over.
10394  Economy / Invites & Accounts / Re: Where Trusted Place To buy Bitcointalk account? on: February 25, 2018, 06:38:57 PM
I'm looking for place/site to buy bitcointalk account, please give me recommendation! Thank you

The question is , why do you want to buy an account ? If you want to earn couple of bux through signature campaigns then I recommend staying here and starting off from the very beginning as the forum needs one who can add to a discussion and not just random posts .
Nobody wants to do that anymore--the merit system is such that a typical noob shitposter will have to wait until the sun burns itself out before he's a hero member, and it'll take millions of posts.

It's no wonder I'm seeing tons of account sales threads recently.   It'd be such sweet justice if mods banned these idiots for spamming--after the accounts were bought.  Or if the campaigns would only accept Hero/Legendary members.  I've seen some improvement in the last couple of months on that front, but there's still a ways to go.
10395  Other / Meta / Re: Alternative for merit system on: February 25, 2018, 04:27:47 AM
I've noticed a decrease in the number of "shit posts" over the last few weeks.
I've also noticed this--but the reason is because I've added something like 200 people to my ignore list.

Look at this thread:  https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2864198.0;topicseen

This is a typical shitpost-magnet thread that invites the illiterate spammers to come up with a variation of these:
I don't believe it. i think bitcoin is the source of income . it is very helpful for our good life. it can change our life but it not give life . so i think bitcoin is not source of life.
So many peoples think that bitcoin change their life I also agree with them. peoples invest money into bitcoin because they earn more than previous time as a rasult they become economical established and mantaly fresh.
it's possible to live on bitcoin because we have money here and we just need patience so here i will change life in bitcoin as well.

...and I could go on showing these typical 3rd world shitposts.  I've put most of the users in this particular thread on ignore, and it's puzzling to me what they think they're going to gain by posting all of this crap.  They sure as hell aren't going to rank up unless they buy some merit on the black market.  And if any of these members that I've quoted here happen to read this thread, take note.  You are the worst of the worst here on bitcointalk.  These posts are complete garbage.

But I have some hope that this system will eventually drive these idiots away.  It'll take some time, but I do think it will happen.
10396  Other / Meta / Re: Thanks Button on: February 25, 2018, 04:05:38 AM
-1. I think merit is mostly already used this way -- as an expression of gratitude when solving a technical issue for example.
It is, but there's definitely not enough merit for my needs.  I was thinking about applying to be a merit source, but I don't know if I'd want to feel obligated to patrol for good posts.  There are ones I've run across since the whole system started that I'd like to have given merit to, but I ran out.

Not a huge deal, but a "thanks" button could be used an infinite number of times, and it's not a bad suggestion at all--but I wouldn't sacrifice the merit system for it, because I do think there needs to be a quality-of-posts factor involved in the ranking up process, and merits provide that.
10397  Other / Meta / Re: The reason that Merit is working.... on: February 25, 2018, 02:32:10 AM
why i am got less merit
Though I can barely make out what you're trying to say, I think you're wondering why it is you haven't earned any merit.  The answer, to me, is as plain as day.  You are trying to write posts in a language that you don't know, and the only reason you're doing it is to get paid.  Because you don't have a good grasp of English, everything you write here is going to sound simple-brained and uninteresting.

Look at this post:
I really agree with your topic that is so good and I have done it to my friend and finally my friend has earned income through this forum.
This is a generic, 3rd world shitpost written by someone who is only incentivized to post in English because he's paid to spam.  The post is sloppy and in broken English and not worth reading (or writing).  You and your ilk need to stop doing shit like this--that's what the merit system is for.  The idiots just haven't caught on that they won't be advancing in rank yet.
10398  Other / Meta / Re: what benefits can I get if giving s merit to others? on: February 24, 2018, 07:54:03 PM
So scorpion27 creates a thread about merit and someone called Boys27 gives him a merit. The identical numbers a coincidence?
Yeah, it's beyond fishy.  I've no doubt this is a case of one alt giving another alt some merit.  Blatant and ballsy, though it would've been more so had he given more than 1 point.

On a related note, there are very few members here I trust who have letters followed by numbers in their username.   Yahoo62278 is one notable exception, but there aren't that many.
10399  Other / Meta / Re: Lauda has 3 DT1 3; 100 people excluded lauda; 6 socks added lauda to their list on: February 24, 2018, 05:14:53 PM
I will let Lauda take this bet for the both of us.

I would be curious to know who you have to convince, though.  It should be someone fairly neutral on the matter, and the escrow should be anyone other than someone QS would suggest.  Mitchell sounds aboutright.
10400  Other / Meta / Re: Copy/paste on: February 24, 2018, 04:33:01 AM
There is already a thread all about this, and you didn't need to start another one.

Just report these posts and the users will get nuked.  The mods are pretty good about this.

Edit:  I do have to say props to OP for catching these buggers.  Didn't need a new thread, but the job was well-done on your part.

Edit edit:  Looks like OP turned out to be a merit farmer.  Ugh.  The accusation looks pretty solid to me.
