10381  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: A Question on: March 11, 2018, 06:29:48 AM
I will be interested in this kind of "pooling" I've been following UFC/MMA fights as well so I think I will take advantage of this kind of service.

We have been in UFC discussion threads by    tokeweed, so I'm sure that you know the sports very well. As far as getting tag, this is gambling, unless you ran off with our money, I don't think that a red trust should be given.

P. S. You can also check this thread. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1931295.0
10382  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Canelo Alvarez tested positive on a banned substance on: March 11, 2018, 06:05:38 AM
In response to the positive test, Golden Boy said that Alvarez would soon move his training camp to the United States from Mexico and put forward additional drug testing.

But the damage has been done already. Intentionally or not. It has somewhat put questions on his 1st performance against Golovkin.

Would you really believed his alibi? I mean he is a professional boxer and his diet is on a strict regime, meaning all the food he eats and even the water he drinks is examined and screened by his dieticians. If he get passed by his drug test it would mean a bad thing for Golovkin. He is obviously heavy and Clenbuterol is used for cutting down weight. Blaming the meat he eats only makes a lot of parties involve, I wouldn't be surprised if the cattle producer will be the one to take the fall here.

Every athlete from Mexico should be aware of this issue because its been ongoing for quite some time now. That's why the alibi is somewhat sketchy. I haven't seen the amount of clen found on his system. But if such amount is high, then there will be doubts on him. Maybe its just another excuse from this camp so that they can get away with steroids abuse because Saul Alvarez looks really different.

In response to the positive test, Golden Boy said that Alvarez would soon move his training camp to the United States from Mexico and put forward additional drug testing.
I am sure that he was really doping because his alibi is really funny blaming something that you ate as a result meanwhile he failed to mention the exact food that he ate which caused the positive test in the first place.

Yeah, we can't denied that is probably been doping specially for this fight because he wants to take some edge. Golovkin is far more stronger in my opinion, although Canelo has a very tough chin, but during the fight he seems to be like Margarito, the more he was hit, the tougher he becomes. Of course this is just my speculation.
10383  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Ban In India on: March 11, 2018, 05:51:28 AM
Any one From India?

Is it true that Cryptos will be banned in India??

Do we have to Pay taxes to Indian Govt. For keeping Cryptos

As far as I know, bitcoin is not yet ban in India and also not yet accepted. So they are still in the gray area as far as bitcoin and crypto is concern.

But personally, I think they will put regulations on cryptos. So it the future India would have to pay taxes specially if you convert your bitcoin to rupees.

There are also news that 2 trading exchanges in India will cease or suspend is trading because of a heavy pressure from the government.

10384  Economy / Gambling discussion / Canelo Alvarez tested positive on a banned substance on: March 09, 2018, 10:17:05 PM
I don't know if boxing fans here are aware of the latest news:

Quote
For those who have yet to hear, it was announced on Monday that Saul “Canelo” Alvarez had tested positive for “trace levels” of Clenbuterol during voluntary pre-fight screening for banned substances ahead of his May 5 rematch with Gennady Golovkin.

http://www.fighthype.com/news/article32541.html

They blame it on the contaminated meat in Mexico which is really plaguing the country now. But I don't know if this is intentional or what and they are pointing fingers to the meat industry for using Clen to raised and breed their cattles to be more lean with less fat on it.

What's your take on this?

But I hope that GGG vs Alvarez II will push thru this May to settle once and for all who is the true p4p king.
10385  Economy / Economics / Re: GOX crashing bitcoin price Why not just delete their wallet from the blockchain? on: March 09, 2018, 09:57:06 PM
Yes i also think that markets don't need so big price like that , bitcoin good price is 3-6k for now . 12k is to much to get moving again to 20k . We need cheap price and a lot of new money and investors to come back here to starting to buy bitcoin again . Also we need get hype back , nobody talk about bitcoin now on TV like before January when every day on TV talking about Crypto and investing in that.

BTW ? Why Mt Gox Needed to Dump the price ?

Yeah, I'm also questioning his intentions of dumping his huge amount of bitcoin as this very critical times. Although it has been reported that he is doing this for several months now so it makes sense that he is the one to blame for all this wild price swings and correction that we are seeing.

But as far as the OP's questions, I don't think that we can just delete their wallet. Crypto and bitcoin is decentralizes and no central authority to control and manage the cryptosphere.

The best thing to do is advise the guy not to dump it or go OTC and even do a public auctions of the trusted bitcoins on him.
10386  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Beat CoinMarketCap on: March 09, 2018, 09:33:49 PM
I'v found a upcoming website which also offers life prices, like Coinmarketcap. The website looks more appealing to me as it has a fresh and young look. I like the idea that I am not supporting one of the bigger players. Let me know if you also like this website: https://www.coinranker.net

There are really a lot of alternatives to coinmarketcap. And some of them are updated real-time, which I really like.

1. https://onchainfx.com/
2. https://www.cryptocompare.com/
3. https://coincodex.com/
4. https://coincheckup.com/
5. https://www.coingecko.com/en

As per https://www.coinranker.net, I like the simplicity of the website and it loads fairly quick as well. Thanks for the share.
10387  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Is Holding Bitcoin a long time good way to make money? on: March 09, 2018, 09:03:13 PM
To be honest, with the current situation and wild price swings, it really hard to think that its better to hold. So you really need to have this mental toughness not to be swayed from this panic selling.

I only hold small amounts of bitcoin, but even with small amounts sometimes I just think of better selling it off and just re-enter the market if there is a perfect opportunity. But I'm thinking that I should long at it for the long haul. This bearish market trend will not go on forever, and we are likely to recover before the end of the year. So I will hold as long as I can and fight the urge to dump.
10388  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What is your most reliable crypto source? on: March 09, 2018, 08:45:26 PM
I use a lot of social media and bitcointalk of course, but where do you get the most up to date crypto news?

I check the Press Release of this community and try to understand what the current situation. Of course you need to go around as well and see and read the comments around.

As for twitter, I also follow a few personalities. Because sometimes most of them are just creating FUD or fake news. There's no other source better that this community. A lot of "experts and knowledgeable" persons around and I love reading all their comments and interpretations as to what is going on right now.
10389  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2018 NBA Season on: March 09, 2018, 08:33:13 PM
I think the game between Toronto and the Houston rockets should be a tournament of this end of season , a rockets win should consider them a bigger threat to the golden state warriors for the western conference finals . Most predictions goes to Houston rockets losing this game but I still believe that they will continue their invincibility record for so long , they want to show that they deserve to be leader of the conference and present them self as a pretender for the NBA title . My prediction is that they will win but it will be a very close game .

This is really a interesting match to watch. Could be the preview of the finals. Lol. If I'm not mistaken they already face each other last December and Toronto beat Houston that time, however, CP3 was absent in the lineup.

I don't know but If I'm going to bet, I'm liking the chance of Toronto to beat the Rockets again. But they have to play consistently in both court (offense and defense). The key here is to stop Houston's three's and play solid defense.

"Houston, we have a problem".  Grin Grin Grin
10390  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Ever stopped or removed from casino on: March 08, 2018, 06:33:15 PM
I do not know why a proper attire is required to enter a casino. Don't tell me you came half naked. I remember I was forced to get out about something I have not done. I am not trying to show off or something, but there was a hooker who wanted me to have a sexual relationship with her and pay her. I refused. She insisted and then I told her she was ugly. She got mad and went to the security staff and told them that I tried to rape her. They got me out and told me to never come back again.
It must have been a movie scene. There are different stories and scenes with every other person who went to casinos. Like you, what if you talk with that girl and pay her. But you did a great job. As far as throwing you out of casino, I think one must not be in some dirty place where you are accompanying such people. These casinos are nothing but a hub of sins. So don’t go in them.

This give me a good chuckle to be honest. I know that there are a lot of hookers in a land based casino, but you should just ignore her in the first place. Maybe she was just offended when you called her ugly.

The funny thing is that they believed the hooker more than you. Lol. If you really looks decent and have the money to play around in the casino, why then did they kick you out?
10391  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin dropped by $2k on: March 08, 2018, 06:14:20 PM
One explanation is that the Mt Gox bankruptcy trustee is dumping a lot of BTC and BCH in the exchanges right now. According to available reports, the trustee is still in the possession of close to BTC168,000 and similar number of BCH.

Correct, but I don't know the timing is really bad. He could have waited a few more days before selling. I guess he needed to llquidate it today. Sadly the effect has rippled already and the market is now southside.

Maybe we may see bitcoin going at $8k. But I do think that there will be resistance at $7K and $6K that it will not go further below that price.
10392  Economy / Economics / Re: surprise 2018 on: March 08, 2018, 05:56:57 PM
OMG! btc prices continue to decline, most likely the price of other coins also decreased.
we need improvement in the face of this situation.
in my opinion 2018 really a lot of surprises.

What improvement are you saying?

I have to admit that we started this year at the wrong foot and we have been in this wild swings lately and the bearish sentiments still in the air. But I don't think that improvements is needed to push the market up again.

The only improvement that I'm thinking is the implementation of Lightning Network. But it remains to be seen because as far as I know they are still on the testnet. It gonna be another tough one to see the price plummeting below $8K tomorrow unless another big whale comes in a make a huge buy order.
10393  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2018 NBA Season on: March 08, 2018, 05:27:19 PM
-While in Eastern Conference almost everything is decided:
1)Toronto 2)Boston 3)Cleveland with Washington, Philadelphia, Indiana, Miami and Milwaukee practically already qualified for Playoffs

-In Western Conference instead there is great competition:
Houston and Golden State are fighting for the first place, and then there are 6 teams fighting for the last 4 places useful for the Playoffs: San Antonio,Oklahoma,Utah Jazz,Los Angeles Clippers, Minnesota,Denver.
For me it will come in first position Golden State, and will qualify for the Playoffs: San Antonio,Utah Jazz,Los Angeles Clippers and Oklahoma

There are only 17 games left to end this NBA regular season. For me, Upon reviewing the Western Conference standing I believe that even the Spurs is in 5th seed they will not make the playoffs and also with the LA Clippers which is the 8th place right now.

This is my prediction for Western Playoff Match-Up:
1. Rockets
2. Warriors
3. Timberwolves
4. Jazz
5. Pelicans
6. Blazers
7. Thunder &
8. Nuggets

Reason why Spurs and Clippers will not make Playoffs: Check their remaining games.

Well i don't expect much from the clippers now anyways and la would probably be better represented now by the lakers. But i'm not counting the spurs off just yet. Pop knows hus team's situation and if there's a team to pull out of a tight situation, its the spurs

Good pick, but there might be some few changes along specially in the low seeded. Also I would have to agree with @gabmen that San Antonio can still make it to the playoffs. Clippers is done this year. Losing their key players (CP3 and Blake). Actually I got a hunch that Timberwolves will not make it to the playoffs because of Jimmy Butler's injury or they position might slide a bit.
10394  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Trading bot used by majority of people on Binance got hacked; not Binance. on: March 08, 2018, 04:59:02 PM
So it turns out that the accounts were all phished. What I don't understand is how so many accounts were able to be accessed, I would have thought that almost all accounts were protected by 2fa and this would have stopped the issue?

I think I must be missing something.

Let's wait for Binance to make a formal announcement as how the hack happened. Actually they did the suspend withdrawals right away so that they can investigate further.

Not all accounts has been phished there are reports that most users funds are still intact. And it was really the bot who exploited or probably found vulnerabilities to make a sell and convert everything to bitcoin. I'm sure Binance is doing everything right now and inform their clients about what really happened.
10395  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How to handle tough times in cryptocurrency? on: March 08, 2018, 12:52:17 PM
We are indeed the tough times of trading or investment in cryptocurrency. After the ATH of Bitcoin last year, we are now at the stalemate at 10K USD mark for almost 2 weeks and no sign of going up. I was thinking to hold for as long as I can since I believe in crypto.

If you’re at the losing position what is the best thing to do?

I don't do anything. I have my money in fiat that's why I'm not bothered by wild price swings on the market. And I also invest what I can afford to lose that's why I can stay away and not be affected specially that the price is somewhat stalling at $9K-$11K.

Of course patience and time should be on your side. After the frenzy of December 2017, everyone thought that we are not going to see bitcoin failing below 4 digits. But last February we are all shocked to see it go down and just today as well. So you need not to be emotional as this stage otherwise you might be affected and finally decided to push the sell button which is not right at present situation.
10396  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Walk of Shame on: March 07, 2018, 11:58:15 PM
Did anyone here have experience a walk of shame (Walking home since you have a loss all your gambling money in just one snap)? Well, It did happen to me once and I'll never do that again. It was the bad year for me (Peek of my addiction), I normally left my atm/credit card at home if I were to visit a casino and have enough money wih some changes for my stay, food, drink and my fare. The first time it happens to me is when I was so frustrated because I can't win up to point I already spent my allocated money for my fare. I was devastated that I need to go home at 3 a.m. with no money literally and I haven't got a phone in me (which make it worst). Started walking from the casino going home it was the longest walk I ever made I pity myself and upon arriving at home my wife and my kids are already awake, I just can't bare to look at them. I don't even know what to say at that point. I just walk in shame, in front of my kids.

How about you, have experienced it? We all have different interpretation on "Walk of shame".

I haven't experience it personally. But I have someone very close to said he did and he literally cries on my shoulder that time because he gambles the money that he supposed to saved in the bank. I won't get into details because it sort of personal.

Anyways, Luckily although I'm addicted gambler I still have control to at least have cab fare on me or someone to pick me up if I ended up losing everything. hehehehe.

Yes, this can be interpreted as "Walk of Shame".
10397  Economy / Economics / Re: Why we need price crashes and panic selloffs on: March 07, 2018, 11:26:22 PM
This is just a thought that occurred to me while reading some posts around here, feel free to discuss it or even criticize it. So if we want Bitcoin to rise in the future, we need it to crash first and many wannabe traders to sell off their coins at a loss when the price is low. If people don't close their positions in panic now and just wait out bad times, they simply won't let prices grow later because they will get out whenever the price rises just enough for them. But if they fix their losses, they will no longer have bitcoins to record minor profits and thus drag the price down in the future. As a consequence, the price can surge higher without a lot of selling pressure at bigger figures when the hype and buying frenzy begins anew.

The bottom line is that it is kinda required for Bitcoin to crash occasionally for the prices to rise higher eventually.

Because that's how the market works in a "speculative" environment. All is based on speculation and if there are news that will pull down the prices and you panic and sell then you are "weak", mentally. And when you sell, other's grab the opportunity to enter the picture. And the process goes on. I won't call it required, but its the process that we need to undergo to move further. Yeah, its kinda sad to hear it but that's it works, unfortunately.
10398  Economy / Speculation / Re: Another Bubble popped? on: March 07, 2018, 11:06:11 PM
So looks like another bubble has popped and BTC is taking a nosedive dropping from 11600 to 9700 a mere 1900$ in 3 days. How long does a bear market normally last? I'm expecting atleast the full year, can it take longer?

I don't consider the current spike a bubble though. It took us several days to get from $9.7 to $11.6 (probably a week or more). So its a normal price increase. Maybe people are just cashing it out simple as that. No bubble has bee burst here.

Full year? Are you kidding me? The longest bear trend that I have witness is around 3 months if I'm not mistaken. So I don't think that we will not gain any significant increase in a span of a year.

10400  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin at USD20,000 on: March 04, 2018, 07:31:58 PM
What are the economic and political dynamics that can positively drive bitcoin price  to and above the critical price of USD20,000? Is this possible before the end of the first quarter of 2018?

I think its LN (Lightning Network can be implemented within this year, it can greatly impact the price in the positive way and push it to $20K again.Or unless big economic nation suddenly legalized like Japan did.

Currently, the price of bitcoin is stuck at $11K and its really hard to make a push even at $12K. Although eventually it will be shattered, but for me it will took another month to go beyond that price.
