Well, we have to admit that 1000TPS is still possible. For 1000TPS, 300GB blockchain is, maybe, freaking small. Don't you think?

Maybe it is or maybe it isn't (still not quite clear to me) but do we really *need* to be marketing this angle *now*?

As an "average" user, I cba about 1000TPS at this moment.
It´s a nice number I suppose, but the thing we marketed is basically "faster than BTC and doable for everyone".

If we can satisfy both of these with lower specs, I would be happy.

Of course there will be some sneering from people, but f*ck ´em if we still deliver the above and work from there. Smiley
1042  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: NXT :: descendant of Bitcoin - Updated Information on: February 05, 2014, 02:38:40 PM
I am more concerned with marketing campaigns that end up becoming a PR disaster due "ridiculously over optimistic" promises.

I agree with this completely, but it´s hard to market without making false promises if it comes out at a later stage (ie. now) that some things require much more than was initially said.

This happens, and I am aware of that, but BOY, that can blow up in our faces.

I am glad that these things are being discussed, but from my POV I would be much happier if from this point we are much more careful with promising things we won´t be able to deliver by April.

We can of course say the potential is there, and work on thát. If 100 TPS is doable, do it. Don´t aim for something that will just collapse and do so much damage to our image.
If 50 TPS is more realistic, do thát. It´s still way better than te competition.

I fear that all the claims will boomerang mercilessly otherwise.

Edit: at the moment I don´t care about Mars or the Moon, but getting a working space elevator.

Edit 2: still positive, but want to get on with realistic things instead of having to make claims that turn out to have a sting for now.

Might I suggest that you do not hold your breath as you wait for the apology?

I obviously can’t stay in a community where four words and a stupid smiley makes somebody wish you death and don’t even think about apologizing (don’t bother doing it now in case your consciousness suddenly wakes up, it’s too late).

And I am tired of being one guy on the other side of everybody else. A cohesive community is much more important than stupid arguments.

So that’s the end for me.

Please withdraw all your money from the exchange, it will be closed in a few days.

Thank you to those people who said kind words.

And thank you to the people who were always nice to me, you know who you are, I am going to miss you.

seems like the filth′i·ness of "bo bird", "opticalcarrier", did it again, 4 person i see leaving cos of his filthy mouthing and treathening he is a real asset to your community

Could you quit using other peoples problems to create the impression they are connected to you?

It's a despicable tactic.

Fight your own fights.

Also: nxtchg: i will genuinely be sad to see you go. It's a bad thing to receive a death threat and never warranted. Hoping you will reconsider but understand your reasoning. All the best, whatever you decide!

Who would like to speak at the Lets talk Bitcoin show? Smiley

Who would like to speak at the http://www.cryptocurrencyconvention.com/ in New York?

PLZ Help me make contact w/ #nextcoin creator.Hosting The Crypto Currency Convention n NYC.We want them to speak and promote #NXT

I've missed the past few days. Did we get anyone lined up for these?

For the LTB show, we'll need someone who can speak passionately about Nxt, the community, and the Future! (Perhaps two people would make for a more interesting interview. Joefox and one of the devs, for example?)

My apologies if this has all been decided and I didn't notice.

you guys can imagine what my performance would be like from the interview with tai zen. idk if thats the sort of thing you are looking for. i dont think it was passionate per say.

The main thread moves too quickly for me to keep up with, but it seems every time this comes up it gets lost amidst all the other conversations. These two opportunities need to be decided on soon.

For the Let's Talk Bitcoin podcast, I suggest we ask joefox and anon136 to work together with Adam on getting this to happen. If they want someone who is more involved with the development to join one of them in the interview, then it's probably best for them to ask someone directly rather than waiting for one of the devs to volunteer.

I think it would be a good move to have joefox involved in the interview, because it'll lend weight to his "News On Nxt" updates as well as give him an opportunity to talk about his planned Nxt podcast.

For the New York speaker, I have no suggestions, but it seems like an opportunity we shouldn't pass up, since they're actually looking for someone to talk about Nxt.

Anon,

If it's possible to team up with someone you feel comfortable with and who feels more at home talking to a live audience, I would say do that.
You could go with joefox for instance if he wants. He could fill in the gaps (he's an actor, so should be able to spot when you get "stuck" and get the ball rolling again).

You have a very good talent for translating the things that look obcure on paper to examples people can grasp. I liked your explanation of TF very much.

I would very much like you to consider doing it and I think you underestimate your presentation!

Also: working in a duo with someone you feel at home with is much more fun. Smiley

Hi here

One question is bothering me for a while: is there any plans to create a solution of accepting NXT in e-shop, etc.? I mean payment tool, like bitpay for example.

Now we are spending thousands of NXT for 1 minute on radio, while we could spend on payment tool development. Now we just spend our NXT on exchanges, in other words come like a squirrel in the wheel.

Or did I miss something?
There is 40,000 NXT bounty for project to accept NXT via standard shopping cart modules. wesleyh is working with another guy on this.

James

Thanks, it is what I wanted to know.

Edit: What is the deadline for this, if it exists?

I've been in contact with wesleyh about this, because I am working on it, too.
At this moment he is building a new client, too, and giving that priority.
He was kind enough to give me access to his work and give me tips on how to go about.
My guy is currently testing and will report back once he is satisfied all is well and safe.
After that the plan is to make modules for all existing open source e-commerce platforms.

No ETA from my side yet, but I am hoping for a working model soonish (1-2 weeks). But that's just a wish on my part, I won't know for certain till I hear back from my developer.

What the hell?  So we got an anonymous BCNext exclusively talking to an anonymous CfB about some vague plans that are too be revealed.

Can you really take all of this seriously?!

So if CfB bails (like he has said he plans on doing),  who does BCNext speak too?  Anyone else have a private line to the founder?

Misrepresenting facts. Spinny, spinny spin!

"Bailing" is running away.

His contract ends. That's something different and it's good that we know this.

I'd rather hear it now than a week in advance.

Also, why do you care?

CfB did say he wanted to bail and work on his *new* crypto-currency.

So when he does leave,  who speaks to the BCNext founder?  Anyone else have a hot line?  Who, other than CfB has the source code?

That's a good question, and it hasn't been answered yet. CfB will leave in two months. That is the window to decide that. I'd rather he worked in that time and the question will become more urgent and then answered as the time goes by.

His *new* currency is built on TOP of Nxt. Fancy you didn't know that.

It's a worrying trend you have: you ask some valid questions, but then turn out to have very limited knowledge. You make accusations based on half facts. If you are truly a professional, how would someone who contracts you react to that?
The facts are all publicly available, but at every point you seem to think you need to have these facts presented to you on a platter.

The argument "this thread is too long" really isn't valid. You could just read CfB's posts from his profile. That may take a few hours, but if you are truly as professional as you profess to be at some times, you could do this easily.

In a normal work environment your behaviour would be regarded as highly disruptive. Spreading panic based on half facts is silly.

Well anyone who follows this thread knows that I dismissed him and that my questions are valid and it seems most people here today agree with me and want some enlightenment.

My biggest concern is that it seems to be frowned upon to even be a thinking being. Asking these sort of questions is like blasphemy.

It seems people forget that the reason people have invested in NXT is due to the promised features, not the current incarnation. It would be downright fraudlent if the promised features don't come into existence.

I admire someone who asks questions, even if it angers others. That's tough, especially if it's done in a community that has been close for a few months.
You get misunderstandings and sometimes people who you had fun with turn around and disagree.

I've seen this happen LOTS of times on any forum/community/job.

It's actually healthy and a sign of moving out of the too cozy feeling into admitting that not everything is always perfect.

So long as we accept that everyone is working to get Nxt further and also accept that not everyone agrees about the way to do that, it's all good.

I now feel a bit like Mary Poppins...

What are you talking about? Go back 2 pages and you will see that I dismissed everything Emule said and called him a downright joke. My questions are coming soley from myself and I have asked these questions in different formulations for over 2 weeks now.

That is what I am saying, Uni.

I'm trying to point out that HE is using YOUR words. Not the other way around.

Finally some one that has the courage to stand up against the aye sayers.

my work is done here, uniqorn will take over now.

We want to see results in stead of hocus pocus talk RESULTS AND SOLUTIONS!

NXT revolution is here!

btw: CfB I know for sure you r working on a NXT clone to outpass the rich founders.

I love these guys with their easy and transparent ways of driving wedges in communities. Smiley

Did you take out spin doctor course together with Fric?  Cheesy

Yes, there are questions. So what? That's good!

The dirty trick you are employing is assigning motivations to Uniqueorn and actually *using* him without consent to further your obvious agenda.

That is quite low and would be a problem if it wasn't so blatantly obvious. Smiley

It's rather cute, actually.

I believe there are at least two people on this (payment module for integration in webshops). And a bounty for developing a tipping bot (on reddit?) exists also.

I'm working on this with a developer.

CfB, can you at least confirm that this effort is not in vain? Don't need full details, but if I'm investing in this, I need to know that in two months it won't be absolutely useless because Nxt will have something different up it's sleeve.

Or is this basically a reference to Asset Exchange?
1055  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: NXT :: descendant of Bitcoin - Updated Information on: February 04, 2014, 10:58:00 AM
so you think that project implementing nxt > nxt itself in terms of ROI? strange to hear that..

Looks like u have not attended Economy courses Smiley

Interesting how developers always think they can come up with something even better.

Maybe because developing implies making things better.

All a question of semantics Smiley

Edit: woo 1500!
1056  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: NXT :: descendant of Bitcoin - Updated Information on: February 04, 2014, 10:51:55 AM
+1 Indeed. People sheeple are always looking for leaders. It's in their nature.

Fixed.

It's not sheeple. It's the fact that some people are more knowledgable, skillful, experienced and competent than others is a particular area.

Of course you won't listen to someone who isn't and you'll gravitate to the ones that are.

It's also the fact that most people have the idea they can't change things and never learned how to.

Sure, there are some sheeple, but for the most part it's just normal people who never were exposed to the idea that taking responsibilty and working to make something happen actually can pay off (but is never garantueed!)

I still don't get why ppl see me as the leader.

Welcome to the wonderful world of people and the associated irrationality  Grin

It's perfectly normal behaviour.

I can fully understand why both Satoshi and BCNext went into anonymity Smiley

You mean in April?

Yes.
I'm realistic enough that anything I say here to counter mass psychology is futile.
If CfB leaves, there probably be sóme effect on the price.

People will be people. Traders more so.  Smiley
1059  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: NXT :: descendant of Bitcoin - Updated Information on: February 04, 2014, 10:30:04 AM
What's so wrong with CfB eventually moving on?

We already know that he will leave in April.
In the end, people will need to take over anyway.

It's normal for people to want to create some sort of leader figure, but I think it's healthy to think for ourselves as much as possible.

It is not like he will magically disappear in April. He has the project Kharon, which could be a huge benefit for Nxt.

Or he has his Nxt project. It's up to him, basically.
If Nxt can't stand on it's own feet, so much for decentrilisation. Smiley

In the meantime, start gathering BTC to spend on Nxt once the inevetable price drop when he leaves comes Wink
