Whats up with the pool?

Got disconnected and rejected.

We're experiencing some stability issues at the moment. We're working on resolving them.
UPDATE: Stability issues have been resolved.
1042  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [241 GH/s] ABCPool.co - 0% fee PPS - NOW <0.3% REJECTEDS! on: October 20, 2011, 10:03:17 PM
NEWS: Historical performance available!
We've been hard at work these days on providing you with additional stats. And we're glad to say: They're here! This feature is enabled for everyone that donates 1.5% or more. If that's you, you may now view your performance over the past two weeks. Click on 'Stats', then 'history'. The hashrate includes valids and stales, but not invalids. In time we plan to display valid, stale and invalid shares seperately so you can have even more insight into you performance.

Aside: this upgrade is the reason the cron jobs went down. We've introduced memcached to cache the query for this graph, and there was a dependency missing.

Happy mining!
MC

NEWS: Payout history added!
You can now review all past payouts through the stats section. Payouts appear there as soon as they have been initiated. Please be aware that it may take up to an hour or more for the Bitcoin network to include a transaction in a block.

Registered a while ago, feels nice so far…

Yeah thats the main reason im using your pool Smiley Most stales actually comed
when i had just 200mhash and i had one nvidia card mining with ~45mhash.
Thanks kwaak and rTech, that's exactly what we're going for: no bonusses, sweepstakes, give-aways, or complicated reward mechanisms at ABCPool. That only distracts from what's really important for a mining pool. We concentrate our efforts to give you a reliable no-frills service with consistent and transparant rewards that you can trust. People looking for excitement, please go somewhere else Smiley

Also: A big tree attracts the woodsman's axe..

Does that mean then that small pools attract termites ?

Evidently! Big trees are not immune however.

With a couple of large pools down at the moment, this is an excellent opportunity to try out ABCPool for a while!

Get stable payouts due to the 0% fee PPS, and you even get paid for stale shares!

Once the other pools are back online, you are of course welcome to stay anyway!

Registration and configuration is the same as you are used to at other pools.

Thanks,
Your friends at ABCPool Cheesy

For some reason, this reminds me of the Winnie the Pooh where the whole gang got stuck inside that tree.  Piglet was feeling down about how small... it... was, and how everyone else was big!  But when they got stuck in the tree, only Piglet was small enough to fit through the exit and save everyone!

Just thought I'd share Wink
That's quite a scary story you've got there right before bedtime Wink But it's a nice metaphor.

NEWS: pool stats API
While we were at it, we added a simpel pool stats API at http://www.abcpool.co/api.php. We also changed the user stats API slightly so it creates better JSON.

Are there any plans to add the current round shares to the API ?
Thanks for your input. We do not have such plans currently. What purpose would that data serve? We pay per share, and current round shares has no effect on the amount you will earn. On the other hand, one may argue that you can never have enough stats Cheesy

Frankly, we don't keep track of current round shares in realtime. The numbers can be pieced together from the database after the fact, but that's a manual thing currently. I think publishing those numbers would only confuse people, since they are irrelevant to income.

We do still have plans for more stats in the stats section, such as 24-hour averages. Behind the scenes we have been working on aggregating older mining data periodically, because the database is growing ever faster. Once we have those aggregated sharecounts worked out completely we'll start reporting on it.

In the mean time, hold on please Smiley

NEWS: NTime-Roll support slashes stale and invalid rates!
Abcpool has been running quite stable for a while now, and judging from the forum posts most people are mining with us without any issues.

Since scaling up our systems a few weeks back we've worked on an area that affects both performance and earnings: NTime-Roll support. This behavior ensures less system load and even quicker response times, especially when it matters most: when the countless Long Pollers trigger all at once. We've been watching the stale and invalid rates since we deployed this new version several hours ago, and we are pleasantly surprised the rates have dramatically improved:

Old stale rate: ~0.2% - ~0.6%
Old invalid rate: ~0.3% - ~0.8%
New stale rate: ~0.06%
New invalid rate: ~0.23%

That's right: on average, our members are now generating bitcoins with 0%-fee for 99.77% of their submitted shares. That's a number that is certainly among the best any pool has to offer, if not the best.

Thanks for your continued support, and happy mining everyone! Cheesy

MC

NB: If you are experiencing invalid rates higher than 0.5%, please make sure you are running the latest version of your miner software.

1052  Bitcoin / Pools / Automatic payments resumed on: October 06, 2011, 08:52:56 AM
MacT just notified us that he was not getting automatic payments anymore. Automatic payments were disabled during migration, but we never enabled them after we were done; we simply forgot! They are enabled now, and should be functioning normally. That means any (back)payments will occur at the normal time, 11:00 UTC.

Thanks to MacT for letting us know about this.

Hi kwaaak. Great to hear you succeeded in signing up. Enjoy mining with ABCPool!

I think he was wondering why he couldn't use a stronger password.  Cool

I realized that later on indeed. We will review the login mechanism.

- Chlorine
50 characters is now the maximum password length, and you will get a notice when you go over that during regisration or pw change.

time to settle down miners

I used to mine with abcpool for a month now and I am pleased. Uptime was delivered almost alltime and payed shares were adjusted to diff in no time. Instant payout behaved like named. So I decided to raise "freefee" to two %. I know it's not that much but I think every bitcent helps abcpool for development and when diff keeps decreasing I will raise again.

thx abcpool-team, cheerio
Thanks for your kind words and your continued donation. It is much appreciated!

1055  Bitcoin / Pools / ABCPool.co migrating to new server on: October 03, 2011, 04:55:03 PM
Dear miners,

ABCPool is migrating to a new server in a few minutes, which is expected to cause ca. 2-5 minutes of downtime.

MC

Update: Migration was succesfully completed!

Hey Mint, do you know what's going on. Seems the web frontend stats are frozen. Client is still sending shares though.
Cronjob was stuck; stats should be up to speed within a few minutes.

Any updates on these requests? I would like to mine at your pool but feel the transparency is necessary to grow. Also, from a pure vanity standpoint, i would also like to see some  type of leader board.
We hoped to have it ready by now, but we haven't gotten around to it yet. It's still on our agenda!
1058  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [101 GH/s] ABCPool.co - 0% fee PPS on: September 05, 2011, 02:29:23 PM
I think there are technical difficulties currently.

Miners are going on/off at random.

I can confirm, miners don't connect anymore, pool hashing power down to 90GHs.

spiccioli.

Now working again.

Thanks.

spiccioli

We have indeed had intermittent service disturbances earlier today. Everything should be back to normal now.
