10481  Economy / Reputation / Re: Little Mouse and RapTarX - What is this connection? on: March 02, 2020, 10:58:12 AM

Maybe you're right for this problem, but you're wrong about the way of thinking  Undecided those who are a little more intelligent would certainly still bypass it  Huh Intelligence is not the word for those greedy people who always find ways to cheat, in fact, honest people are always smarter than greedy people, that's why fraudsters are always Caught in this forum, one after another. Smart people have thousands of ways to make money, and fraudsters have only one way - cheat.

Edit for more: The truth - there are more greedy people than intelligent people, that's why things move in a bad way without changing.

You have your own opinion, I have my own - a hundred people may have different views on one and the same thing, which does not necessarily mean that everyone is right or that everyone is wrong. I will disagree with "fraudsters are always Caught in this forum", because I believe there are quite a number of intelligent ones who know how not to create any links between their alt accounts.

I think this discussion goes to the OT, because it should be about Little Mouse and RapTarX accounts.
10482  Other / Meta / Re: Preview feature, how many people do not know how to use it? on: March 01, 2020, 02:18:50 PM
I always use preview button to check my posts, this is something completely normal for me. I don't think forum users do not know "how to use it", but some probably consider it a waste of time.

I have seen examples of posts listed in the OP many times, but I can't say whether it's just hastiness or ignorance that the post is being edited properly. To make the post look right, it had to be edited in the prescribed manner in a way to remove two quote in the middle, so it would look like this :

If it was that easy to crack the passwords, would you think Bitcoin would be so valuable ? Wouldn't everyone would be cracking the passwords and getting hold of bitcoins. Stop dreaming to get the bitcoins by this way. This is old trick to get the password of wallets which never belongs to you.  Angry

I agree however I don't know what happens but this is what I get on cracking the hash wallet.txt on line 1 ($bitco.......61.....) : line length exception.
no hashes loaded.

When you post something here on the forum, you have two buttons, post and preview, so you can easily click on the preview and see how it will be looking for your answer. if you do this you will not post useless post anymore.

Targeted to your topic, first, you need to prove that is critical wallet your and is under your control before any compromised situation.
when you dole it out we can talk about further deinterleaving of the situation.

10483  Economy / Reputation / Re: Little Mouse and RapTarX - What is this connection? on: March 01, 2020, 11:35:02 AM
~snip1

Maybe the problem is that most of the community still suits the current situation, because changing the rules would definitely have a very bad effect on their interests. But even if everyone in DT1 agrees on something, can there be a change in the rule that says "it is not allowed to participate with more than one account in signature campaigns"?

Even if such a rule existed, those who are a little more intelligent would certainly still bypass it. The thing is that the rules may change, but unfortunately people will remain the same. The old truth is that to some, this forum is just a way to make money, but it's also the old truth that money drives the world, a forum is no exception to that rule.

10485  Other / Off-topic / Re: [Info] Brave Browser Turn Out To Be The Most Private Browser From The Study on: February 29, 2020, 03:05:09 PM
If only Brave remove Brave Reward/BAT from their browser, Brave Browser would be browser perfect for lazy/technology illiterate who care about their privacy.

But BAT is only option in Brave browser, and few months ago this option was available only in few countries, but now I see they include more countries. However, the number of active campaigns in these countries is very small, and therefore the profits coming from the BAT tokens. For those who are not from Tier 1 countries, the profits are almost insignificant, no matter how much you surf.

Source

I use Firefox for years, then I switch to Chrome, now I am back to Firefox, but very often I use two browsers at the same time, and second option is for now Brave. It is not bad browser, but I never like it too much, although this is probably a matter of habit. I would recommend to everyone to try more different browsers until they find the one that works best for them. Sometimes it's not that the browser is bad in the sense that it is slow or is crashing/freezing, but it should be borne in mind that old hardware just can't keep up with the requirements of new software.

10487  Economy / Reputation / Re: Little Mouse and RapTarX - What is this connection? on: February 29, 2020, 01:52:32 PM
Guy, I really hate to say this, but I really feel angry about your thoughts. You think that even if these accounts are connected, as long as they don't cheat, they will have no problem here  Angry Angry
I will talk about fairness here  Undecided How many signature campaigns are open to users of this forum? How many users can be accepted in all campaigns? I am sure it is a very small number compared to the active users on this forum. This competitive rate is very fierce, so what happens when you own multiple accounts? It increases your acceptance rate and reduces the rate of others. Do not say that "because he writes well, he can use multiple accounts and be accepted by all". It is not fair. There are many good writers here, and they only use a single account. For me, someone who owns multiple accounts and participates in other signature campaigns is cheating, by using multiple accounts, these people have taken the opportunity of other users. It is unfair, so don't accept it  Sad Don't say that there is no fraud here, don't cover the bandits who take away other people's opportunities  Angry
I confirm that I can use multiple accounts while ensuring the quality of the posts created, but it is fraudulent, justice does not allow me to do that.

When I read your post, I remember that I write something similar few days ago in this post on topic "Having secondary/multiple accounts purpose is..?". We seem to share a similar opinion about some moral and ethical principles, but they are hardly applicable in the real world, let alone in the virtual world. I believe there are people who have several accounts active in various sig campaigns, but this is allowed by the forum rules.

For those who are active on a daily basis and have a good power of observation, it is not difficult to notice that some accounts have fairly identical expressions, the same grammatical errors, and sometimes even speak to themselves, creating a semblance of discussion between different users.
10488  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: BTC transfer issue in Electrum - Help me understand what happened? on: February 29, 2020, 01:26:24 PM
Soldierswitlittlefaith, clipboard malware is very old threat and most security software will detect/block/remove such malware. Of course, hackers are constantly trying to make improved versions that are difficult to detect, so you need to make address checks before every transaction.

Hardware wallets can help with that, as each transaction must be confirmed by pressing a button before which is possible to verify that the address on the computer screen matches that of the hardware wallet device. Of course, the check should include more than 3 or 4 first/last characters, because back in 2018 there was a base of 2.3 million addresses used by hackers, and the swapped addresses can often be very similar to legitimate ones.

I think Loyce was asking why the BTC in question still hasn't appeared at that address when OP stated that the transaction has now been made.

It is possible that Hanna is decided to use a new address from Electrum, not the one originally mentioned. In any case, only she can answer that question.
10489  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcoin Multisig Hardware Wallet Comparison on: February 29, 2020, 11:49:25 AM
I dont understand why you chose Ledger Nano S instead of Ledger Nano X. Ledger Nano X is out for more then a year.

Maybe due to the fact that the Nano S is twice cheaper than the Nano X, and also because the OP found a page that wasn't up to date. Apart from the fact that Nano X has Bluetooth (which most don't need) and the ability to have up to 100 apps installed at the same time, the model S is still a pretty cost-effective choice.
10490  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Ledger Nano X - Review of the package. on: February 29, 2020, 11:43:23 AM
I'm thinking of getting one because I might travel a lot in the next few months and don't want to carry my Nano S around.

I think each transaction will consume about 10-15% of the battery, which actually matches what users write on Ledger Reddit. But obviously there are some issues with the battery, which, as I mentioned before, is of very low capacity and may not be of top quality.

Also, although Ledger initially marketed the Nano X as a device that can have up to 8 hours of battery life (in using), i think it still depends on what we actually do with the device when it's on the battery. Obviously, transactions consume battery faster, and it may also depend on the coin apps we use.
10491  Other / Off-topic / Re: Windows 10 update can delete your files! on: February 29, 2020, 11:19:05 AM
Windows seems to be getting worse an worse lol. From the bloat included in a Windows installation, the ads, the fact that it's pretty much spyware, a few others, and now this. This might be the best time to try out Linux if you havent yet. Wink Do a dual-boot for now though, just to be safe(and because gaming on Linux can suck depending on what games you play).

From my perspective W10 is working just fine, no problem with updates or anything else, but this is maybe because I have brand new device and clean copy of OS, which very likely makes some difference if we consider that many just upgrade from W7 to W10, and that they use outdated hardware which can cause problems.

Unfortunately, many will not opt for Linux at all, it is a technical challenge for them (which includes dual-boot), so we should still try to get the best out of W10.

It looks like someone has decided to play Linux Lite 4.8 LTS distro, and make Windows 12, so we have a Linux OS that looks like W10.

10492  Other / Off-topic / Windows 10 update can delete your files! on: February 28, 2020, 02:53:23 PM
After Microsoft stopped providing free support for its most popular operating system (Windows 7), many (including myself) switched to Windows 10. For me personally it was not some kind of painful experience, more or less I am satisfied with how everything works. But it seems that Microsoft is doing a really bad job with its updates, which create big problems for their users.

One of the rather annoying problems is that the update deletes all your data from your computer, which just happened to some users. This is especially tricky if you have crypto wallet and backup stored on your computer that just happened to one user few days ago. Windows 10 update is delete his Electrum and seed is also saved on desktop (so stupid move). Read more here : Microsoft update deleted Electrum.

What actually happens is that after the update, Windows should return to main profile, but for some reason it stuck in temporary profile that is created during the update. What should remedy the situation is explained on Microsoft support page :

The solution to this problem is usually very simple - restart (not shut down) you PC 4 times in a row, each time let Windows get to the Desktop, before the next restart. The logic behind this fix is, it prompts Windows to complete the update and restore the original user profile, complete with files and applications

Of course, this solution does not work for everyone, and some are still struggling to recover their files. So be careful with the Windows update, check whether other users have some problems, and backup all important files on external disk/usb stick.
10493  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: why don't we have campaigns using lightning network in the forum yet? on: February 28, 2020, 02:21:16 PM
What will these campaigns gain from the lightning network?

Campaigns would get instant and very cheap transactions, which is actually the main idea around Lightning Network. But I think it would be very difficult to find quality posters that would have the necessary knowledge to use this new technology. In time when SegWit is still a puzzle for some users, LN is not a technology that will be so widely used in the near future.

So far, I haven't read anything about people losing money due to LN-bugs. That would indeed be very bad publicity if that happens.

I know the topic is over a year old, but there were reportedly cases where users lost BTC using LN (mostly due to ignorance), but also because of a bug that "allowed the spending of ‘fake’ coins on the network".

10494  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Story time! Lost coins & Regrets - Let's bring back a little bit of nostalgia. on: February 28, 2020, 01:55:48 PM
I never lost BTC in the way that I was a victim of hacking, or that I may have forgotten my wallet password. But like most, I lost a significant amount on faucets that never paid me, and 5-6 years ago it was very easy to collect millions of satoshi every week. This was unfortunately the risk that came with faucets that had withdrawal thresholds. I would estimate that the total sum of what I lost is around 0.30 BTC, but it was such a time, inexperience, and a lot of bad people who cheated in every way possible.

What I really regret the most is that I sold 5 BTC that I bought for $1000, for a relatively small profit, but who could have guessed that BTC would jump from $200 to even $20 000 in less than 2 years...
10495  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Ledger Nano X - Review of the package. on: February 28, 2020, 12:08:48 PM
BitCryptex, sorry for the late reply Sad

I'm sorry you're having problems, I have not noticed such problems so far, but I must admit that I have not used Nano X too much. I've checked for similar issues on Ledger Reddit, and I see there are those who complain about the same problem. I can only say that the battery is too weak (100 mAh), which is certainly a problem for those who want more autonomy with Bluetooth.

Did you get any official response from Ledger about what is causing such fast discharging of battery?
10496  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcoin Multisig Hardware Wallet Comparison on: February 28, 2020, 11:57:36 AM
There is no doubt that a hardware wallet is a far safer choice than a desktop/mobile wallet, but only if used properly. What many people do wrong when buying a HW is a pretty irresponsible behavior when it comes to backup (seed). Some forget to make it at all, others store it inappropriately, others mix words so they virtually become worthless.

If I look at the link you posted, I immediately notice that the price for KeepKey is wrong (it is $49), and from what can be read, this is not the HW you want to have : Yes, the Keepkey is a worthless black bricklet.

As for Ledger Nano S, from the 4 offered is definitely the best choice, because of the price, reliability, and the large number of coins it supports. I'm surprised that the list does not contains Ledger Nano X, but as I mentioned, data is outdated.

The Trezor is of course always on top when talking about HW, although in my opinion there is one major drawback that casts a shadow on the whole project. Specifically in the case of a physical attack, it is very easy to extract seed from HW, and only solution is to set very strong passphrase. This also applies to KeepKey and all HW based on them (clones). Trezor&Keepkey - Unfixable Seed Extraction - A practical and reliable attack!

I will skip ColdCard, it supports BTC only and I think what it provides doesn't justify the high price.
10497  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Coinbase Legitimacy/Alternate ways of earning crypto on: February 28, 2020, 11:28:09 AM
Furthermore, if anyone has any other suggestions, tips, or new methods for earning some crypto... I could use some ideas. I'll continue to search around the forum in the meantime. Thanks Smiley

I'm just going to say that if you want to be a Coinbase player, you have to play by their rules, and there's not much else to say. If you don't like their rules, you just have to look elsewhere and Binance is the only one of the big ones that doesn't require KYC up to a certain amount.

As for other ways to make money in the crypto world, you have a few choices :

- try to get involved in some signatures campaign that pays for BTC, which of course requires you to be active in the forum and to try to be useful to the community in some way.

- if you have some skills (programming, graphic design, marketing ...) you can offer them to forum members.

- do you have anything you can sell for BTC and what would be interesting to members of the forum?

- maybe you can start a website, advertise some popular services/products through your referral/affiliate links?
10498  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: BTC transfer issue in Electrum - Help me understand what happened? on: February 28, 2020, 11:05:21 AM
It leaves one question though: why didn't the payment arrive on the address you gave him?

I did not realise this; If I had, I would have used very simple language, and read his comments more carefully, to figure out what he really meant.
He meant to ask me to confirm the BTC Address to send to, again, even though I already given it.
He had not in fact made the transaction but went to bed, awaiting a final confirmation from me, which he thought he had asked for. Combination of language problem and lack of question mark just made the comment turn out wrong for him.
It sounded as if he had sent the BTC and wanted confirmation that it had arrived.

The language barrier and the different time zones are what caused this misunderstanding. Although it is very clever from the seller to ask for a confirmation of the address, in such cases it would be even better to sign the address. Those who become victims of clipboard malware often blame the seller for cheating on them, though they may be completely innocent.

Royse777, is it so hard to save links to those posts and merit them later? Let no one be offended, but what if all MS would open a topic like this and ask for merits?

Can this be compared to merit begging in some way (although it is MS)? What about the rest of us who have to earn every sMerit in a hard way?

Or (since link is clickable) we can see this as a free promotion, or maybe "they are coming back again" to get some traffic Roll Eyes
