10522  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Electric bills for mining on: April 03, 2014, 09:16:59 AM
This is significant factor in crypto-business and it's interesting to know more about it. Thank you for your vote!

I am not a rig owner but I was wondering how to get free electricity - till now I didn't solved it Smiley

Cheers!

We had some illegal ways, but some legal ways to get free electricity are:

- life with your parents / someone else who pays for electricity
- setup a mining rig at a place that offers free electricity. E.g. university, a cafe or similar. Usually this will not work because you cant leave your rig there, but only set it up for a short period of time.
- ask at your company/workplace if you can install a rig somewhere. Depending of the kind of company and their elecricity needs, they will not even notice.
- get a flat where electricity is included in the rent.

My favorite car would be :

Tongue hehe.

That would be awesome, but it must be the version on the picture, not the one running with plutonium Cheesy
10524  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Can't connect to bitcointalk.org with my normal internet connection on: April 03, 2014, 06:49:11 AM
Maybe its the router?

If its the router it wouldnt work with a proxy either.

Since im at work I cant reliably check for the ip of bitcointalk.org atm, (should be 109.201.133.195.) but try to resolve the name with a device that can reach it and ping the ip with a device that usually cant reach it. This way you can check wether its the DNS or not. If it is the DNS you can easily switch to another one. As mentioned googleDNS, openDNS or any other alternative DNS. It probably isnt though. If you still cant reach the IP try different IPs in the same network and see if they work e.g. if you get 192.168.7.15, try 192.168.7.14, .13, .12, etc. if you can reach any of those the server might block your IP or your IP-range. If you cant reach any IPs from the network its most likely that your ISP blocks that IP-range.
Besides ping you might also try to portscan the IP or some from the network, since some "admins" think its bad to respond to pings.
10525  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Would you buy Japanese Chocolate With Crypto-Coins? on: April 03, 2014, 06:37:10 AM
Looks like the price was changed, still for $1.70 i could just go to the next store and buy 2 55g bars easily, but that might be because swiss and beligium are neibours Wink

The Swiss and Belgian varieties are not as exotic as the Japanese ones. If you want to try out the Japanese chocolate, then you'll have to dish out a few bucks more. (Will make more sense to chocoholics).

Thats true, chocolate from japan is more expensive. The price is ~11.4 USD per 100g, thats for white choclate with green tea though. But thats also available within 30 minutes. Im pretty sure they or similar stores can get me Meiji for a price lower or similar to the one at Satoshimart. But they will problably not accept BTC :C
A well I guess the price is pretty good considering worldwide shipping.

Did you make any btc transactions yourself near the time (within a couple of days) of these transactions?

Yes i did, but 4 days before, the 27th, was my last (own) transaction (outwards), since then only receiving, untill that moment on the 31st, which i wasn't..

So the money is on this adress: 1FmMasfuEE6wtpzdWiVnDynfJ5tyyVbhP3
and there is "only" 0.56 BTC. That does not sound like a hacker to me. They would have moved the money and switched adresses several times. Do you have backups of your wallet(s)?
10529  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Would you buy Japanese Chocolate With Crypto-Coins? on: April 03, 2014, 04:49:51 AM
No, the price for the shipping is not worth the order. As nice as it would be to get some choc for my BTC, but .14 for delivery? No thanks

That's 0.014 ~ $7, not super ridiculous for international small packet.... and why you'd want to order 10 for same shipping price.... all in for 10 bars, $17ish so about $1.70 per 55g bar. So considering the "higher end" mass retail swiss, german, belgian etc chocolate is around $3 for 90g AFAICR then it's in the same ballpark.

But as always caveat emptor.

If I was trying to get this off the ground, I'd do a Willy Wonka and print up some paper wallet sleeves for the chocolate, random values, the "golden ticket" would probably only be 0.1 or so, but it would make it more fun.

Trust. No. One.[sic]
Trust me
-snip-

The irony, but you are right, allways be carefull, use escrow when its not only a few bugs you would also gamble away.
10532  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: help in understanding trust !! on: April 02, 2014, 10:17:31 AM
#1 green trust is from mods or admins
#2 depth?
#3 it will only show trust from "trusted" people, so unless you add someone to the list, trust from mods and admins. If you check the link it will show all trust ratings
#4 there is a checkbox, which signifies negative rep

for further reading: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=211858.0

'Green' trust is not from mods and admins. You need to be on the 'trusted list for your feedback to count, it just so happens that most mods and admins are obviously trusted, but there are many more that aren't on the staff that are on the trusted list.

Well it depends on your depth (when I posted, I didnt know it was called that).

DefaultTrust is:
Code:
DefaultTrust
    sirius
    theymos
    HostFat
    Maged
    OgNasty
    CanaryInTheMine
    John (John K.)
    Tomatocage
    SaltySpitoon
    BadBear
    escrow.ms

and all people they trust. But you are right, e.g. OgNasty is neither staff nor mod, but a donator.

Yeah, i reckoned that the miners would be false-positives. What do you mean by trying 'listunspent' ?
-snip-

My qt is in german, so the translation might be wrong, but if you rightclick on the trayicon there should be "debugwindow", which can also be opened from the main window -> help -> debug window.

Open console and type "listunspent" it will show you a list which might still include your missing btc.
10534  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: help in understanding trust !! on: April 02, 2014, 06:40:44 AM
Lol i just realize there is actually something called trust depth and its default is 2 and max increased till 3 I wonder why I never checked that before. Now someone please tell me what is it Huh

sometimes it helps to click a link someone else posted just befor you...

These scores are taken from your trust network. They are not global scores. You can edit your trust network here:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=trust
If your trust depth is set to 2 (the default), you will trust feedback by people you trust, people they trust, and people they trust. I might change the default in the future; we'll see how this works. Your trust list is public.

There might be answers to your questions even befor you have to ask them.

Most antivirus tools do this, this does not mean that you actually have a trojan or a keylogger or something else. Miningsoftware is considered a virus because there used to be (still are?) botnets who mined on captured pc's.

Id also say this looks like change, did you try "listunspent"?
10537  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: help in understanding trust !! on: April 01, 2014, 09:58:45 PM
#1 green trust is from mods or admins
#2 depth?
#3 it will only show trust from "trusted" people, so unless you add someone to the list, trust from mods and admins. If you check the link it will show all trust ratings
#4 there is a checkbox, which signifies negative rep

Its not a bug, its a feature. Same as "search" and "reading readme's".
10539  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Would you buy Japanese Chocolate With Crypto-Coins? on: April 01, 2014, 07:49:38 PM
No, the price for the shipping is not worth the order. As nice as it would be to get some choc for my BTC, but .14 for delivery? No thanks
10540  Economy / Services / Re: [PrimeDice] [Highest Paid Signature] Earn up to 2.4 BTC/Month by Posting on: April 01, 2014, 03:20:32 PM
I might switch next month, I don't post vast amounts but I want to be paid the best rates nevertheless

I think more people will, with the current rewards of 100% extra at Ritz at the full members area.

I'm going to stay where we are. I think Stunna might even increase the rewards again to be competitive with the competitors (and possible the decreasing BTC value). Otherwise many people will swap I think ;/.

I will stay as well. Stunna anounced a bonus programm for loyal members and is doing this for a while. I dont really care if I dont get the best price, but I want to be sure that I get my money.
