10521  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: When can I expect my coins to recover? Feeling very depressed... on: January 26, 2018, 09:09:02 AM
I am pretty new. I bought in all my coins on January 9th and it is hard seeing all of my coins in red. Every one of them is still down 40%-60% and I am wondering if will ever recover? The problem is that I am not sure if the projects I invested in are simply under-performing or I just entered at a terrible time.  Cry

These are the coins I bought and hodling ($500 invested each into btc, eth, and ltc and $120 invested each into the other altcoins):

Bitcoin, Ethereum, Litecoin, Icon, Neo, Dragonchain, Wabi, Enigma, ETHLend, bounty0x, Po.et, Substratum, Neblio, UTrust, Medibloc, Enjincoin

Realistically, when should I expect to recover? I am scared that I am going to be in this bloodbath for long time and make no profit. I want to make at least $1000 profit by June-July to visit my grandfather in Korea to buy plane ticket. Please help. It is very hard to be patient. When will I see some light  Huh

Here's something to cheer you up. I bought a lot of alts in middle of last year, and saw them also down and down, they just kept dropping until I was more than 60% in loss with seemingly no chance to recover. But December arrived, and suddenly most of them not only recovered but put me high in profit. I did the typical "sell 50% at x2" on many of them. Relieved to recover, and now holding those "free bags".

But for you, think long term and learn your lessons. Did you choose to buy simply because of speculation? You seem to have lost trust in your projects, is this because you didn't know enough about them or is this because you set unrealistic expectations? Learn you invest in a project you believe in, with strong claims to back up why you think they will success. More importantly, learn patience.

Actually, most important: learn lessons.
10522  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: South Korea's New Crypto Tax Policy on: January 26, 2018, 06:15:59 AM
When will people learn? Did they realize the "FUD" for the past two months was all complete garbage? Every time the news said something, the Korean government came out and said otherwise, they constantly said for months what they were going to do, so this latest news is not new, it's simply something that again reaffirms what the government anyway had been wanting to do and kept saying.

Now here's the other strange thing: if this is really new news, why hasn't the price rebounded? All was blamed on Korean FUD, wasn't it?
10523  Economy / Gambling / Re: BITDICE - 🎲🎲🎲 TRANSFORMATION HAS BEGUN! CSNO TOKENS ADDED! 🎰🎰🎰 on: January 25, 2018, 04:27:57 PM
We need one more day to finish all data. Unfortunately, it took a bit longer than we've expected. Tomorrow we will publish the financial report and will start sending the dividends.

Regards,
Alex

Awesome news, something to look forward to in this really bearish crypto market! I know a lot of people are going to be excited. Regardless of the financial performance (even though I know we're all expecting good things in the report), we've all got to keep in mind that the initial start is always going to be time and resource consuming, but that's how it is with all things starting out.

I'll be looking out for the future planning in detail, if that's going to be part of the financial report?
10524  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What price does a coin get listed on an exchange? on: January 25, 2018, 12:13:12 PM
That is not how it works. Basically, people are free to put up their coin at any price they want (sell order) or make a bid at whatever price they feel it is good at (buy order). A lot of people will do this at a lot of prices... then it is just a matter of who will take those orders. Eventually, people take up buy and sell orders enough to settle down at a sort of average price and then it moves from there.

Price is not really reflective of value here. It is simply a reflection of demand and what people are willing to pay (or get) for it.
10525  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Thoughts on Zcash? on: January 25, 2018, 08:20:48 AM
I am still holding my Zcash that I bought last year and I rebought more when it was at a price of 0.03 BTC per Zcash because it is very cheap and it will go up to 0.16 or more in the next bullcycle!

Late comer here. I bought into Zcash (ZEC) just recently, just above the 0.0401 BTC level - looks like it was a very good entry point... I know the floor could still be far below, but I felt the support line was strong enough. The 2018 roadmap looks solid, pretty sure overwinter and sapling can get good traction beneath them especially as they're doing it in case of government intervention. Plus there's good OpenBazaar testing already going on so that could really set the ball rolling for adoption.
10526  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Siacoin Epic Monster Moon on: January 24, 2018, 12:32:40 PM
Today or tomorrow Siacoin will be announcing big News. Maybe softfork or listing on binance or something to do with the miners bitmain has released`?
Is there any proofs? I searched, but did not find it. Sia I have a long time, left a piece after a good growth. If the news is confirmed, then I plan to buy more.

Nope, couldn't find anything about this myself. Softfork, binance listing... actually isn't big news at all, just progress. If anything Bitmain's new miners might be able to further mine more Sia, and to me, that's not really a good thing for us holders.

I cashed out all the Sia I needed to recoup my initial Bitcoin investment (and something like $2 just to say hey I made profit!) so the rest are all holds, probably forever and ever haha.

Side question: any of you guys using Sia for its intended purpose? Looking into it actually.
10527  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Elastic (xel) price speculation on: January 24, 2018, 11:45:31 AM
Oh Elastic, I am still holding mine with a big loss, but I don't worry about it. I still have faith in the project and I actually believe that the developers are one of the few taking their time, with good belief in themselves and probably just only a little attention to the price. Crypto is all funny, this idea is not. I will always hold my XEL, even when it does recover, and even probably when it does reach the dream of 100k or even 200k satoshis. I do wish more people would hold, but it's really slipped off the speculator radar so that's good.
10528  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: what are your predictions in the future for the ripple? on: January 24, 2018, 08:16:26 AM
what are your predictions in the future for the ripple?
I wonder what level can ride the ripple in the coming years
I think we are going to see an even greater battle between ETH and Ripple to see which coin keeps the second spot behind bitcoin, ETH may have its flaws but in my opinion it is better than ripple that is nothing but a project of the banks, however with a greater interest of financial institutions it is possible that ripple could surpass ETH as the number 2 coin in the next years.

Their biggest flaws to me are that they are centralized with developers having a huge conflict of interest in maintaining artificial price while forcing developments that may not be needed as opposed to keeping a clear head on objectives unrelated to price. And don't forget they also have another alt to contend with (Bitcoin Cash) that equally wants to be number 2 (or number 1 as they say) and have a lot of willingness and resources to attempt this.

However, Eth has a great head start and reputation (minus DAO).
10529  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Are we a global village that needs a global currency? on: January 24, 2018, 07:04:02 AM
EvaGC.. you say this currency will come from the "trusted banks". It is because of these "trusted banks" that was the reason Bitcoin was created in the first place, because the world community has viewed that there are no such thing as trustworthy banks. You're right in that a global currency will come from the community, but in my opinion it will have nothing to do with banks, in fact as far as possible this global currency should be removed from established governments and banks, and be run by and for the people.

It might not be Bitcoin as you say, since this coin has too many political and development issues, but it will be a decentralized currency not belonging to any central body.

Exactly! The entire point of Bitcoin was to eliminate the need for trust... because all trust systems are not foolproof. They will fail at some point, at any point, and this failure will always result in someone becoming the victim. Bitcoin took away this problem, and it has made a lot of people understand finally how they had always been wrong to trust banks or other authorities with money. Governments and banks have stolen, misused and misappropriated the funds of their citizens and their customers. Ask the clients of banks who closed down. Ask investors whose banks lost money in giving out bad loans. Ask people who tried to withdraw their cash savings and found their countries were bankrupt.
10530  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Waves future on: January 23, 2018, 01:42:21 PM
The future now heavily depends on Singapore plans. If Sasha will make them come true - we will see a huge rise as waves is one of alts that hasn’t shown “to the moon”-growth during last 6 months.

Yeah, I'm not too disappointed actually if that doesn't take off yet. I'd really prefer if Sasha and co just do as they have been, quietly developing Waves NG. Allow adoption to happen in the current manner, but perhaps really try and advocate more projects to launch on Waves platform. I think those who did are feeling a bit envious of those who chose easier options like ERC20 but they will be happy at least Waves has doubled in price since the last 6 months, even after this crash. And the DEX! It really has to grow!
10531  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How much potential for Altcoins this year? on: January 23, 2018, 12:34:07 PM
Potential has always been there, and as we've seen, a lot of them fulfilled some, exceeded others, while others still have yet to realise them. Remember that this is still a new market. Today's performance is not an indicator of tomorrow's performance. We need to let this market mature first before we can see any patterns and learn lessons. My feeling is that everything will still boom for another year, if not more. But once the dust settles, we're going to start seeing products fail, technology fail, projects fail. And I'm talking about the big ones. Success seems 100% for now, but give it time.
10532  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: I believe in this blockchain startup on: January 22, 2018, 06:54:57 PM
I'm a believer in a blockchain startup company called Viberate erate.. the COO compared it to be the future AirBnB for the live music industry. https://www.financemagnates.com/cryptocurrency/news/viberate-coo-viberates-blockchain-will-become-airbnb-music/

Has anyone else done research into this blockchain startup?

Good for you. Believers don't tend to shill though, they sit within the Slacks/Telegrams/Discords of the project, and discuss and learn more about it, write posts about it, run nodes, or masternodes or whatever it is alts have. They go on exchanges' Twitter and ask them to list their tokens. They look for merchants and talk to them about their token.

Have YOU done your research? Your post says nothing about Viberate except it's the future AirBnB of live music. What on earth does that even mean?

BTW, I actually like Viberate Wink Just feel these kind of posts don't actually help the project.
10533  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XRP] Ripple Speculation on: January 22, 2018, 03:53:35 PM
should surge up to 7-9$ because it is the best digital asset for payments. Xrp takes only three seconds per transaction, combined with the lowest cost per transaction. can perform 1500+ transactions per second. also available in many exchanges today (50+).
Although Ripple is a good coin but i think it's hard to reach $7 - $9 in this year. Why? The price of Ripple now is $1.48 and its market cap is $57 millions. If The price of Ripple reach $7.5, its market cap is $285 millions and ripple will pass Ethereum and Bitcoin to become leader of cryptocurrencies world, this is too hard to happen now because i think market will not accept any coins instead of bitcoin and ethereum in 5 next years.

Yeah, the old market cap problem of Ripple, and you can bet that it will meet extreme resistant in trying to be number one, although I suspect its centralized leadership will definitely place more and more control over the supply, in an effort to break top spot. I believe it will eventually happen, but it will not last, it will just be a hype to start even more money pouring in.

Still, it can break 7-10 dollars, but when and only when Bitcoin is back above $20k, therefore, making XRP still number 2 or even 3 if ETH also grows.
10534  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Do you believe my post last time? on: January 22, 2018, 12:38:22 PM
NEO Gold? Much exclusive information, that you're sharing it here with all of us.

If you really have such a good prediction rate:
1. Why do you edit your posts?
2. Why not tell us which coin will increase 5% in 24 hours? It would be very nice to double my Bitcoins in only two weeks, four times in only a month.
3. Why not post with you real account? Surely you'd want be willing to risk your reputation or this is a waste of time.
10535  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Bottos (BTO) - The new super undervalued AI coin on: January 22, 2018, 09:41:52 AM
To those saying Bibox is a red flag: I don't think any association with any exchanges says anything about a coin any longer. These days, Poloniex and Bittrex are just as reputable as Bibox, in my opinion. Exchanges are just people willing to list a coin for a fee or for something else in return. They're not normally associated with alts themselves (except well, Tether haha).

I'm not really keen on investing in AI coins at the moment, I feel all of them claim too much and yet cannot show evidence that they are actually good.
10536  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Alex fortin : Bitcoin $5000 prediction in 2018 on: January 22, 2018, 08:01:05 AM
So, a guy whose predictions have yet to be ascertained as 2018 has barely begun, we should now take his $5k prediction seriously? I love how you say his prediction is based on research and speculation. What else on earth can it be based upon anyway? Think about all the hundreds of people who predicted X coin to be big in 2017 and 2018. At the time now, they can almost all be 100% correct, since everything gained. Does that make them an expert? And if they are experts, do we have to follow them?

Do your own research, follow your own decisions. Own them!
10537  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: GREAT CRYPTO DEPRESSION on: January 21, 2018, 02:03:05 PM
Do you call one month of slightly bearish market "great depression"?
Lol.
Just wait, the road is still long for the hodlers, but in the end we'll win.

Last year was a funny year indeed and all these guys came out to play with funny theories. We saw so much booming coins, incredible growth of thousand s of positive percentage. And then when things dipped 60%, everyone talked about the crypto bloodbath. And this was the most overused phrase of 2017. Looks like this will again be the favorite phrase of this year. Great depression? Ask people what happened in 2014 when it took Bitcoin two years to get back at $1000. Short memories are the norm it seems among crypto people, huh.
10538  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What fears did you have when you first started dealing with Cryptocurrencies? on: January 21, 2018, 12:43:02 PM
It took me forever to move from a website wallet service to my own wallet. I kept seeing in chat how people "lost" money, or sent to the wrong address, or their wallet crashed. Site accounts seemed simple and safe, just a username and password that you easily remembered. But then I later understood I could very easily restore my wallets from seed. And that was an even better option, you never worry if the site you use will close down and run with your money.

I've never made a mistake yet, but always remember to double check txs, always keep your seed safe. And you're good to go. I still have my heart beating fast when I make a big spend, always triple confirm.
10539  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What is really needed for crypto? on: January 21, 2018, 11:00:31 AM
What do you think is really important for crypto development? We saw many government regulations and understand that we are dependent on them.
We have two ways:
- get adequate regulations from government, or
- go underground with decentralized exchanges,  markets and internet.
I prefer second point.  What would you choose?

This will help adoption, legitimization, recognition acceptance and so on, yes. But not really development, unless you want corporates to pour more money into R and D. Development happens independently of all these, like it always has.

But yes, further decentralization is absolutely necessary. Blockchain will definitely help to decentralize the Internet, I hope this will happen soon because the web especially is so centralized now, we have no idea that everything we see is what people want us to see.
10540  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Dimecoin to set all time high of $100 each this 2018 on: January 20, 2018, 07:15:54 PM
Good to see people ready to snuff out this kind of nonsense, surprised the legion of shills didn't immediately jump onboard. Market cap comparisons and from there, analysis, people say aren't very good, but in cases like these, show perfectly why the price of said DIMEcoin can't possibly reach $100 in one year.

Thin trading volumes though actually would help pump the price very high, just to catch unwitting newbies ready to splash out on the next big thing.
