Barcelona manager Xavi Hernandez also made comments about Arsenal and Mikel Arteta. It was a friendly game but they didn't play like it was a friendly. They played to win and was very strong than Xavi Hernandez expected.
Should that be the reason why Arsenal are declared ready to fight for the Champions League having basically been absent in recent seasons?
I know Arsenal deserve to be the best candidate from the Premier League for the Champions League next season after they have good form, but that doesn't necessarily mean that Arsenal have a high chance of reaching the last stages of this elite competition.

Arsenal still has many shortcomings that need to be corrected by their coach, but we all know that Arteta looks very ambitious to bring Arsenal to the top of glory, especially when he has a team that can be relied on. I don't think Arsenal will reach the semi-finals of the Champions League next season, but let's see how they get there.

After so many years of trying and failing this season is another to see how they will progress after so much absence from one of the biggest games in all of Europe. The lose of Gabriel Jesus to Injury will affect them at the start of the new season but he will be back. Nketiah will sure fill in well until Gabriel returns but he is not matured enough to lead Arsenals attacking force. He misses a lot of chance.
The loss of Gabriel Jesus has clearly left Arsenal short of strikers at a time when they were having a hard time. Jesus had to miss a few weeks with an injury at the start of the season but I think he will be back as scheduled.

Many people may think that Buffon didn't play all that many games because he is old, I did the same way, I assumed that he didn't play that much and was just a bench player for the past few seasons at least. But then I took a look at it and realized that he actually plead quite a few games. This means this dude was still playing meaningful minutes at 40+ years old.

Buffon is definitely one of the best goalkeepers of his generation and not only that he actually saw two or even maybe three different generations come and go while he played. That's a good situation for sure, I could easily say that he is in the goalkeeper hall of fame without a doubt, he had an amazing career and it could be considered very well for anyone.
Gianluigi Buffon made 45 appearances for Parma in Serie B in the last two seasons. Last season Gianluigi Buffon made 19 appearances for Parma, which is a lot for a goalkeeper of his age. But now the final decision has been made, so Gianluigi Buffon has retired.

Here are just Gianluigi Buffon's stats by club.

Of course that's hard to say in advance. I mean do the young players from the Arsenal squad have the mentality of winning in the Champions league. The champions league match is a fairly important match that they must focus on next season because if they waste the opportunity then Arsenal will find it difficult to go far in the Champions league.

Even Arsenal have been absent for a long time in the champions league so this season is the most beautiful season for them to show their strength that they have built from the previous season. The arsenal squad is almost an average of young players and they are not experienced enough to play in the champions league, therefore they must be able to work hard in every match they will play. We will wait for the group phase draw which will be held at the end of August.
Next season I won't get Arsenal as one of the strongest candidates in the Champions League, but they deserve to be among the ones that will compete for tickets to the final. Regardless of how long Arsenal have been absent from the Champions League, I think Arsenal can be expected to be one of the teams that will provide great competition next season.

I agree Arsenal can't be said to have a winning mentality yet, but things can change quickly if Arteta is able to increase the confidence of his players over time. Manchester United, Newcastle, Arsenal and Manchester City will represent the Premier League in the Champions League, but only two of the four above seem likely to qualify for the quarter-finals.
1064  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Saudi Professional League 2023/2024 on: August 02, 2023, 08:23:21 PM
Although he was about to turn 38, he flatly refused the offer from the Saudi giants. At this age, it is difficult for any player of his generation to compare with him. The person I want to mention is the "conductor" in the midfield of Real, Luka Modric. Going against the general trend of stars on the other side of the career slope, Luka Modric has rejected many offers from Saudi Arabia to continue staying at Real Madrid until the end of his contract. He will retire at the Bernabeu instead of going to Saudi Arabia to earn money in his old age.
I don't know what reasons could influence Modric's decision once his contract with Real Madrid ends, but I think he has a chance to play in the Arab Pro League for a few seasons rather than retiring from professional football.

It is true that sometimes money is nothing for an international player in football, but something different from a business perspective can be considered rather than completely rejected. I am happy that Real Madrid have a player like Modric so far, his loyalty deserves appreciation from everyone.
1065  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Collective bets in local lotteries on: August 02, 2023, 08:16:53 PM
Brazil can be the example of such types of bets but I don't think this strategy is very prevalent elsewhere. As winning the lottery is a matter of luck. Also, if there is a lottery at the national level, there is a very small chance that even if the lottery is purchased at the collective level, personally I will not prefer it. This can be done if it seems profitable according to the lottery prize and lottery quantity. If you win in this case, everyone can be benefited. The joy of winning the lottery in a collective way is not the same as the joy of winning the lottery individually.
When someone dreams of winning a lot of money from the lottery with their game strategy, then maybe some of us can call it difficult and unreasonable. At my place some lottery gamblers believe in superstitions and they even often associate the meaning of dreams with lucky numbers. It's not clear what the connection is, but some of them are very lucky in individual games.

Collective play and individual play are different, but collective play can give you and your group a higher chance of winning than individual play. But I tend to like gambling individually, it's fun for me.

I wouldn't discount the potential for a deeper correction, but I don't think there's anything wrong about otherwise. I expect a sideway between $29k - $31k, but if a correction occurs then I don't expect bitcoin price to drop any lower than $26k.

I chose "no", that's because I think new investors will take advantage of this momentum to invest. Some long time investors will also accumulate, but I don't expect bullishness to happen in August.

Not to underestimate SPL, but I personally would be very sorry if that happened. Because he is still young, he has very good abilities, he deserves to be in Europe joining a big club in Europe. Money is one of the ways the Arab club is tempting Osimhen, but I hope he doesn't always think about money, because with his young age and excellent ability in Europe he can get above average wages, if he can't get it this season, maybe in the future he will be able to get it. The only thing to note is that he must continue to develop and also be consistent, playing continues to improve from time to time.
It shouldn't be all top players willing to join the Arab Pro League just because they offer a high salary, but most of them will have that option one day. Osimhen still deserves to be in European competition regardless of which league, but Serie A seems to suit him perfectly.

The player from Nigeria has indeed received a high offer from one of the Arab Pro League teams, but I hope Napoli will still reject it instead of agreeing to the offer. Osimhen has the potential to become a top European player and be included in the list of potential Ballon d'Or winners, but all decisions rest with Napoli and Osimhen as well.

Yes, but the ideal performance for them is to apply the formation they have done from last season, such as the 4-3-3 where Joselu is the player who will decorate the center forward left by Benzema. However, with a lot of midfielder stock that is owned, it seems that the formation will start according to ancelotti in order to perfect their strengths in the next season.

So, if Ancelotti hasn't found a good quality player for a centre-forward, chances are it will be their weak point next season. I saw Joselu appearance when dealing with Barcelona in yesterday's match. He seemed to have difficulty playing with a 4-1-2-1-2 formation. Therefore, ancelotti must be able to find a new formation to support the accuracy of their game in this pre-season match.
The pre-season games are friendly matches, but I think it's also useful to do some experimenting with strategy and formations. For the last 3 matches, Ancelotti did use 2 different formations between 4-1-2-1-2 and 4-3-1-2. Bellingham played as an attacking midfielder in 3 of those matches, but Ancelotti rotated while giving Joselu a chance.

Of the two formations that have been tried, I think 4-3-1-2 is the best to adopt next season, that means Real Madrid doesn't have a number 9 player next season. But I hope it won't be a problem.

I just want to add, before that Xavi only used Busquets. after a series of defeats in the Champions League, plus several injured players. Xavi has difficulty getting around these conditions. after being eliminated in the Champions League, Xavi's focus was only on La Liga. which in the end, he found a new system that uses Busquets and De Jong as a pivot. although it cannot be said to be ideal and solid, it seems that this combination has changed Barcelona's game. Xavi found the rhythm of the game for his team, plus the players who were injured recovered to return to their respective positions. as a result, Barcelona can win the La Liga trophy. at least, a special gift for them even though they can't yet be categorized as a very strong team.

In this summer window, Barcelona brought in several newcomers. at least, add depth to the squad of his care team. it's just that some players, such as Oriol Romeu, haven't found their rhythm yet. it could be, because Xavi is trying to experiment with his new system. however, this team should be tougher than last season. unfortunately, Dembele will leave even though Barcelona still have a replacement. my estimation, at least Barcelona should be able to qualify from the round of the top 16. yes, even that depends on which team will be their opponent later. let's wait, and I just hope they show their best game.
I also noticed that condition with Barcelona in the Champions League last season, but one of the other factors that made them fail was that Barcelona joined the group of hell last season. Regarding the Champions League next season, of course Barcelona has a higher chance of qualifying for the round of 16 (at least), but it still depends on who will be their opponent in the group stage. If Barcelona are going to be in the group of hell again, I think it's difficult to see them qualify for the higher stages.

About Barcelona, I know they have changed. Xavi is responsible for improving the quality of Barcelona in the last 2 seasons, but I agree that Xavi has not been able to convince many of his fans about the Champions League at the moment. Dembele will join PSG and a verbal agreement has been reached, it will cost Barcelona their firepower next season.

The transfer window is still open, and because both coaches are experienced, they will know whether or not to sign fresh players for the following season after selling some of them to other clubs. Teams who sell players do so due of the manager's decision; if those players cannot fit into the pattern of football they want to play, they easily release them and use the ones that are available, or better yet, look for better replacements for them. If they've been doing well even after selling some players, they should be able to do the same when the regular season begins.
The problem is not about regenerating players every season on a regular basis, but that some teams always have difficulty realizing their coach's wishes to recruit the players they are targeting. I believe Pochettino, Ten Hag, Klopp, Arteta and Pep Guardiola have a roster that they are looking at, but that realization may be too difficult because a lot of players have been up-priced by their owning teams.

Coaches will make adjustments based on their needs and plans, that includes who they need and who they don't. Chelsea is the team that has been the most aggressive in recruiting new players, they have also sold the most players who are not included in Pochettino's plans for next season.

Xavi certainly anticipated Barcelona failure last season, failing to qualify from the group stage is a failure that should not be repeated this season. Barcelona's strength has begun to increase with the arrival of several new players, the results achieved in El Clasico in friendly matches are progress that Barcelona has experienced.

I see that Barcelona is very solid, especially in defense, Barcelona's defenders play very disciplined in maintaining their respective positions. Competition in the Champions League this season will not be easy for Barcelona, Xavi must be able to maintain Barcelona's quality so that they remain solid until the official matches begin.
Even though Xavi and Barcelona won the El Clasico match with a score of 3-0, I don't think it will be easy for them to advance at high speed in the Champions League. Barcelona have failed many seasons in the Champions League, they didn't even make it to the semi-finals in the last few seasons, that is definitely something that is not nice about them.

Xavi will try his best in the Champions League next season, that's for sure. But seeing as we don't know who Barcelona will face in the group stages, it's obviously a bit difficult to talk about their chances.

Carlos Anceloti uses the same formation he used for Manchester United and AC Milan to play against Barcelona, but I think Barcelona were well prepared to play and win because we all know that it is always a derby match between the two sides.
It wasn't a derby match, but we'd rather call it an El Clasico match.
Real Madrid was not effective in taking advantage of goal opportunities, while Barcelona performed well and scored 3 goals. Real Madrid had some good goal chances, but unfortunately none of the players managed to get on the scoresheet. Until the match ended, Barcelona won 3-0 over Real Madrid.

After Arsenal defeated Barcelona, Xavi took to social media to say that they did not expect the intensity the Arsenal squad used for them as they were preparing for just a friendly match; maybe that is why they take the match against Real Madrid very seriously.

Real Madrid still needs a reliable striker to keep them more competitive because they have good midfielders that can create good chances for the team. That’s why they insisted on signing Mbappe because they know he is good at finishing even though he is not a natural striker.I think if they go on with this team in the coming season, they will likely suffer in terms of goal scoring since Vinicius is not reliable in terms of goals.
Both teams prepare tactics and players' stamina well, but Barcelona tends to have a satisfactory finish. I agree Real Madrid need a reliable striker, it's clear that they lack the power to break out opponent's defense when all the attackers are struggling to score goals.

Regardless of the result against Barcelona, I think Real Madrid have to take positive points to prepare their team better ahead of the new season. There are clearly some flaws that need to be fixed and I hope Ancelotti will have a better solution in the future.

I don't think PSG will ever again be able to win the Champions League after they were unsuccessful in doing so last season. Despite having Messi, Mbappe, and Neymar as their top three essential players, they were unable to advance past the semifinals of the Champions League. It's heartbreaking to think about because everyone believed they would win the Champions League trophy based on their frontline strikers.  I was one of the few who predicted that PSG would win the Champions League, not even anticipating that Manchester City would shock everyone by winning the treble trophy last season. What I have in mind was PSG is going to win UCL from the start of last season but they failed woefully.
Too easy to say, but you've left a lot out of hand here. Barcelona has a golden generation with Pep Guardiola, but they can't always win the Champions League title. Bayern Munich, Juventus, Real Madrid, Liverpool, Manchester City also experienced it. PSG are not the only team that have failed to win the Champions League title when their squad is filled with star players, it is clear that many other teams have also suffered the same fate.

But why is it only PSG that attracts attention and continues to be talked about, it is something that is considered a trend when PSG have spent a lot of money to win titles. Money doesn't guarantee success if management can't manage it well, even if a team has a luxurious squad like PSG.

Last season Real Madrid performed very poorly in La Liga which was never expected. I think one of the reasons for this is that they focused so much on the Champions League that they didn't pay much attention to LaLiga. However, from the beginning of this season, Real Madrid can be expected to play very seriously in La Liga.
Real Madrid's concentration in La Liga last season was not divided just because of the Champions League, but you may need to admit or realize that a team like Barcelona really has good speed and is consistent in winning points in many matches. Barcelona, which in fact has been playing well, managed to lead the La Liga standings until the end of the season, while Real Madrid had to reap failures due to inconsistent performance and match results.

I hope Real Madrid will be different next season and not let Barcelona repeat the same success as last season. I know Real Madrid have lost Benzema, but another player would be a worthy patch to keep our chances of winning the title alive.

The sanctions received by Juventus today were purely the result of their management's negligence, not Juve players. If you don't change the direction of Juve transfer policy, you will always be in this situation. Degradation, deducting points, fines are a series of sanctions that are continuously shown to their fans, really very disappointing.

Even though the Europa Conference is not an elite competition like the Champions League, if they can win it it certainly means a lot, because apart from making the fans happy the club will also receive a good income. The only target that makes sense now is to win the Scudetto next season from Napoli hands, if it doesn't work it will put them in an even worse position.
It's something difficult to explain, but Juventus must accept the consequences, especially because of management mistakes. Players only get the task of playing well without interfering with management matters, but several fatal management mistakes have harmed players, especially when they deserve to play in the highest competition such as the Champions League.

After all, Juventus have a chance to win the Serie A title next season if they are able to perform optimally with their best form, but Serie A has been better because these teams have become stronger with generations of great players. Napoli, Milan, Inter, Atalanta, Roma and others continue to increase their concentration for the title, so Juventus are sure to face a tough challenge even if they focus on Serie A next season.

If you look further, it is true that the transfer market is very crazy because several teams that have become the main attraction in this transfer market have set very high release clauses for their players. For Arsenal of course they have spent quite a lot of money and they will probably continue to be aggressive to build a stronger squad. For stickers, it might be quite difficult to find one that can really make a big contribution to every game.
So far Arsenal are known to have spent more than 230 million euros to bring in several players during the transfer market. Declan Rice is the most expensive player they have signed with a transfer value of 116 million euros, followed by Kai Havertz with a value of 75 million euros. Then Arsenal also signed Jurrien Timber with a value of up to 40 million euros so that Arsenal's total spending during the transfer market was very large.

Arsenal need to balance their income and expenses, especially in terms of player transfers. So far Arsenal have only managed to sell a few players such as Granit Xhaka and Pablo Marí, but their value has not been higher than 20 million euros. It's clear that this is part of Arteta's plan to win titles, but financially then I think Arsenal still need to adjust.

I might wonder if Arsenal are interested in getting Mbappe.
Maybe, but not in the current transfer window.

That dataless statement is FUD, many say bitcoin will hit ZERO and be worthless.
But are we going to believe it? Of course, as a crypto activist who has been in crypto for a long time, it would not be easy for him to believe in such FUD. Everything has an analysis, If some people say that Bitcoin will drop to $ 7k then show a valid analysis, it will give strength to the argument. Otherwise it's just trash FUD that won't change anything.
Just one word to anyone who says that bitcoin is going to be 0 now, that is bullshit.
It's not impossible to get bitcoin to be 0 in the future, but I don't think it will be in 10 or 20 years. Bitcoin will get more use cases and will be adopted as a means of payment as often as possible, in fact I can imagine that regulations around bitcoin will be relaxed and governments will support it.

Currently bitcoin only needs the support of big countries with good economic power to get most other countries to adopt it. But conversely, it would also be the same if big countries like America and others banned bitcoin completely including trading and mining. There will be a big impact because of the regulation, but I don't think it will happen in such a short time.
1078  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Have you ever felt remorse after gambling? on: July 28, 2023, 09:36:06 PM
in most cases where people feel some remorse after gambling and losing everything happens when people take the money that should be used to pay bills, food, school and health and take that money to play thinking that they will win and that after winning, they took the profit to return the money that was destined to pay the bills, so these people lose everything playing and as they lost everything they start to regret it, so what comes next is that they will borrow or sell something to be able to take the money and go back to playing thinking that when they win they will be able to recover the money they lost at the casino

but again they lose and feel remorse, and at this point the situation becomes more serious because the person does not have the money to pay bills and, as an aggravating factor, the person also does not have the money to pay the debt he made to gamble again, the person starts panic and think about killing himself, and the more days go by without getting money to pay bills and debt, that person's situation gets worse, so it's always good that when someone makes a mistake of taking the money destined to pay bills and playing and lose, tell the whole truth to get help early
You have a valid point which is one of the many reasons why gamblers regret what they did. Basically, mistakes always come late, at gambling it comes after they lose and fail to get the win they expected. There's definitely no good reason why they should be sorry if they failed to consider the risks of gambling in the first place, that's the gambler's problem that gets exposed all too often.

I don't regret losing, it's part of the game to risk losing like gambling. So far I'm just trying to minimize the problems that arise from gambling, that includes having a budget limit for gambling and not gambling as often as possible.

Many people expect Ten Hag, because he has shown good progress in one coaching season. They have good development, with good transfer conditions. Since Sir Alex retired, there has been no clear progress, the management does not seem to be too patient waiting for the team's process. So they spend a lot of money on coaches and players who are bought. Today they got a pretty good coach, they should have been more patient to do the process.
AakZaki, I also hope that Ten Hag can restore the glory of Manchester United even though in reality it will never be easy. Over the past season, Ten Hag has proven his quality and strategic ability to help Manchester United win titles.

Even though Ten Hag didn't win the Premier League title, I'm happy he did win the EFL Cup. Ten Hag has also managed to lead Manchester United to win a ticket to the Champions League next season, that is a great proof from him compared to the 2021-2022 season. I am pleased with the performance of the team under Ten Hag, so I hope he can have great success in the following seasons with Manchester United.

Barcelona decision to sell Aubameyang and then replace it with Lewandowski was very correct, Lewandowski was able to answer Xavi trust in him by helping Barcelona win the La Liga title race as well as the Super Cup. Lewandowski was also the top scorer last season which made Benzema fail to win the top scorer title twice in a row.
I completely agree that Lewandowski was one of the best signings for Barcelona last season, even though I was in a rival team. Lewandowski has become the best striker in La Liga in just one season, which is a great achievement for an aging striker like him. Benzema and La Liga have to admit his prowess, he was the top scorer of La Liga last season.

But as for next season, I hope Lewandowski will never be the same again. He can still be expected to score goals, but he can't hold that record much longer without being substituted. Next season we no longer have Benzema, but other players should be able to replace him to compete on the top scorer board.
