10761  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: List of the top 3 projects I'm the most excited about right now and why on: November 30, 2017, 09:14:51 AM
My comment on Komodo: the dev seems to be quite competent, not sure about highly respected - I think the benchmark is the guys over at Bitcoin core, and then for alts, perhaps Ethereum. We'll see if he gets to that level but for now, I'm not too inspired by developers on projects. They get too personal.

I do agree on the points of marketing and promotion, but for me this is a good thing, same reason I took a growing liking to Waves. Just a dev team focused on building and testing, no real priority for pushing any agendas. Good to let the community to the talking for them, in my opinion.

10762  Economy / Services / Re: BitDice Casino Signature Campaign [WILL START 1 DECEMBER] on: November 30, 2017, 08:56:50 AM
Thanks for the payments, BoXXoB! I believe two rounds were settled so we're all caught up. Think we can all wait for a little while, actually, never worried if they come late. And of course, understand if the price keeps shifting then so will our payments in BTC.
10763  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: 173000 unconfirmed transactions, 13 transactions per second on: November 30, 2017, 08:08:12 AM
Average block size grows slowly

https://blockchain.info/charts/avg-block-size

I wish big service providers would implement Segwit..

It is coming, just be patient. Even only a few wallets are already segwit ready, so sites are probably working with wallet services to integrate the new improvements. Just because technology is available doesn't mean instant implementation. Everyone is new at this but slowly they will get there. Even the segwit transactions on the network are taking time to grow, but it is definitely growing.

But yes, can't wait for the sites I'm using to start segwit already so I can move over. Really looking forward to less fees and what not.
10764  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Next 100x? on: November 29, 2017, 11:37:03 AM
buy everything in the Coinmarketcap all alts will pump soon. if you want to buy your lambo, then time for you to buy now. the lambo land is open and we expect a good bull run by early 2018. crypto is crazy.

As much as I detest all these bloody lambo talk, actually there seems to be sense in buying the top 100 alts, if you can afford it. Crypto is in a crazy bull run now as we can all see, so this will likely mean every alt will rise for a while, and who knows when BTC finally crashes, easy profits (in BTC) are to be had.

Or Bitcoin doesn't know when to stop and we all cry some more. Gamble, why don't you?
10765  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ICO market cooling down? on: November 29, 2017, 09:30:08 AM
I don't know what news or data you're referring to, might be helpful if you shared it first? From my own perception, you're right and wrong, depending on which view you use.

ICOs are cooling down because they are raising less money: I think this is true. We saw the crazy flow of investment into projects like Bancor earlier in the year, and EOS even pulling in millions in the first days of launching. But as more ICOs show their failure to move on in a good way, look at Tezos, for example, you see even 3 or 4 million dollars now considered a success.

ICOs are not cooling down because so many are launching now. Every day I see a new announcement, and there are even marketing companies and more filling in the business. So there are many new services offering ways to help ICOs, from writing whitepapers to managing bounty campaigns.
10766  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Cardano the new NEO? on: November 29, 2017, 08:26:39 AM
Wait, so if NEO was supposed to be the new Ethereum, does that mean Cardano is the super new Ethereum? Oh, you pretenders to the crown (the small crown of king of alts, at that), why don't you just focus on creating a space for yourself instead of trying to dislodge the ruling alt?

Never heard of Cardano except through this forum, and before the idea is even propagated, their supporters are saying words like ICO and riches, makes a lot of sense to avoid.

Of course its rise is more from FOMO. It's the next big pump, maybe, never the next big thing.
10767  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [ICO] LaLa World : An ecosystem for migrants and their families on: November 28, 2017, 04:20:41 PM
Right. it is important to see in a product what it will bring in the future. Our eyes do not focus on
just what it can give to us, but on the whole product. Most of us are aware of the outcome of Lala World.

Seems like just another project for crypto transactions to me. I honestly don't really see what's so special, except it targets migrants and foreign overseas workers. Tell me, which exactly is your demographic? I know for sure Asians are the ones spending a lot of money or rather remitting a lot of income overseas. But are you suggesting that these guys sign up for Lala World and start using crypto when they don't even have IDs to open bank accounts?

Trust me, if you think crypto has opened the world of finance for the unbanked, then you have no clue of what it takes. Even ICOs need KYC and AML now.
10768  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] MONKEY PROJECT [X11] [POW/POS] [LOW PREMINE] [COMMUNITY COIN] on: November 28, 2017, 12:28:14 PM
Lol its been only 2 mins from ANN and pool already has 30 GH/s.  Guess the dev couldn't resist mining his own coin.  Good luck to all.

What do you think this was going to be, a charity project? Haha. All projects claim to want to bring power back to the people, give control back to users, et bla cetera. Even if it wasn't the devs, it's surely someone connected, ready to mine and hoard, ready to wait for other monkeys to mine, hold and stake these monkeys.

There are some projects that start out as pure fun. Dogecoin comes to mind. Then there are others like this one I can't really place. Half of the ANN sounds serious, then I see all the faces of the team and I stop wondering Smiley
10769  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Lisk or Waves? on: November 28, 2017, 08:44:38 AM
I like both a lot, but at the moment, Lisk has lost about 20% in the past week, while Waves has lost about 10% (if i recall correctly anyway). I have holdings in both so would advice myself to go for a neat and equal spread.

If you do take into account that Lisk has slid down more than Waves though, then you would expect it to be slightly more undervalued, so perhaps 60-40 Lisk/Waves.

Don't take any of our words for it, though!
10770  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: ETC - lambo moon soon ?? on: November 28, 2017, 06:56:26 AM
All those ETH Lambo threads popping out in the last days make me feel that we will see a big dump before the next leg ups.

And there you have the essence of Ethereum - lambo dreams in smart suits, people with briefcases who didn't make Ivy League so they see crypto as their way to riches. ETC is the ideological truists, so they will never be the ones to say lambo moons. But with crypto, since all of us here are looking to make money, I guess any altcoin can become the new playground for miners and holders. Wait for the whales to come on, if they do, then we'll see ETC price make serious moves.

But yeah, same effect for me. When the lambo threads pop up, prepare for the big dip.
10771  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: New crypto for volunteers on: November 27, 2017, 01:20:53 PM
Well, with all the bad ICOs and cryptos just flooding our screens, I think if this initiative is for real, it really deserves some promotion and encouragement from this community. So yes, please share some links and let us have a look. I can only find regular news, but not the actual website (maybe if someone knows the Hull local administration?).

Free pies and tax breaks may be funny now but I totally get how meaningful it can be to a lot of people.

I'll definitely throw my support behind it, if it really is about charity. Too much ugly business in ICOs and cryptos now. Projects like these must be lifted, give the crypto reputation a little bit of revival.
10772  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: ANN [MCO] MONACO #1 Cryptocurrency Payments Card on: November 27, 2017, 11:39:18 AM
We will have at least 3 new exchanges in coming 2 weeks! This alone will make it's rare token with super low supply.

Monaco holding is like holding BTC/ETH/Dash in early stage. The work they have done in 2 last months is over ours expectations.

Even if they will use small portions of their tokens to get into exchanges, give some bounties, etc. This will NOT impact the price.

I highly suggest get on board or get back all in while you can, because we will have HUGE gifts on Christmas!!!

So strange to see many projects start out with impressive dreams, wild expectations and a development team that talks like it knows what it's doing... and then after ICO, descend into the same madness as any other profit-turning machine.

Let's get into this NOW, get back all in! Huge Christmas gifts! Bonuses! Bounties! New exchanges for RARE tokens!

How much did Monaco spend to get these listings? How much did it spend to fix their problems? I had so much hopes, and I'm sure the black card holders even more. And now this is our update.
10773  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: ★★★★★[ANN][DTM][DOTME]New Way Of Meeting New People[AIRDROP][ICO]★★★★★ on: November 27, 2017, 09:33:32 AM
Too many conditions on your airdrop, useless most of all. Serious airdrop require bitcointalk membership and an address thats all. Why I must have eth is a mistery...scam...

I completely disagree. You just need to surf this forum for airdrops and see that 99% of the applicants are spammers, with possibly 10 or more multi accounts just signing up for free tokens. What does a real project want from airdrops?

1> Active users. If a user has ETH, then it probably means they are a real person who has used ETH and is likely to use the tokens.
2> People who are actually interested in the project and WANT to read it and promote it, not just spam the threads. Spammers who don't bother reading are fake.
3> People who will use the tokens for what they are meant. Not bounty hunters who will dump every airdrop collected from 10 fake accounts for free crypto.

You, sir, are the one who is a mystery, if you can't understand.
10774  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][ICO] BITCOIN QUICK ⚡ 10 TIMES FASTER THAN NORMAL BITCOIN 🚀🚀🚀 on: November 27, 2017, 08:48:11 AM
bitcoin this, bitcoin that, ico here, ico there, presale whatever..
but all basically only plain erc20 contract without clear whitepaper and roadmap.
total retorical statement claiming faster, greater and whatever

Indeed. It's in fact funny to see sometimes how the whitepapers seem to regurgitate the contents of 10 other whitepapers, spewing everything out at us and slapping on some cut and paste roadmap. Now, they're even dressing up ICOs, calling them Initial Token Offerings, Token Generation Event and what not to disguise the fact that they are just another dull ICO with glorious promises that really just are a team of lazy people who want to line their pockets with easy money.

Too bad for the actually good ideas, or maybe that will help them in the long run, encourage people to be better and stay away from profit seeking investors.
10775  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Wish I never bought altcoins on: November 26, 2017, 05:38:24 PM
I sometimes do feel like this, but that's just because I look back at the Bitcoins I exchanged to get my current bag of alts. It looks like I've lost almost half of my money when I compare like that, but then it's important to remember that this is regret talking, available because of hindsight. Remember that diversification is the primary rule to follow with investments. Sure, we could have made much more if we invested all in BTC, but what if it didn't rise like this?

By buying altcoins with Bitcoins, we diversify, and we move risk away.

I comfort myself by comparing fiat value to my alts... which have ALL gone up. So take that instead and don't regret Smiley
10776  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Will Ether be $750 if Bitcoin reaches $10k? on: November 26, 2017, 05:18:50 PM
Ethereum, of all cyrptocurrencies, has a weird correlation with bitcoin. Of course, as an altcoin, it does have a positive correlation with BTC but this doesn't go very far. Right now for example, where bitcoin is breaking above a new all time high, Ethereum is struggling with marginal losses in its price so its safe to say that the bullish sentiment of bitcoin wasn't transferred to ETH markets.

True and not really. As you point out, Bitcoin bull sentiments don't always transfer to ETH, and therefore downwards to other alts. There were two ATH moments shared by Bitcoin and Ethereum this year (the ongoing one is one of them) but apart from that, ETH has shown declines in all the other Bitcoin booms/bulls.

Even if it were to record a third time of new ATHs, $750 for ETH is almost 70% over the current ATH, and for Bitcoin only a 12% jump from 8.9k to 10k. Very difficult to realise that, unless ETH explodes with Casper (which won't happen!).
10777  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][ICO] 📱 Telegraf.Money - The Decentralized Platform & Messenger Bank on: November 26, 2017, 12:38:37 PM
Hi, I tried searching for the answers to my questions in the existing documentation but there wasn't very much clarity so I'll ask here.

Will the product of Telegraf.Money cater to non European (meaning outside of EU plus UK) customers? Particularly of interest is the Visa/Mastercard debit card option, or will it somehow let us open bank accounts in there while being resident outside?

The main problem is Visa and MC debit cards now are not for us, even if we participate in ICOs, like Monaco and Bonpay and so on. For a truly global crypto reach, this means the rest of us need access. Would be a nice project if so.
10778  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][ICO] 🔵 BITCOIN QUICK 🚀 10 TIMES FASTER THAN NORMAL BITCOIN TRANSACTION on: November 26, 2017, 12:17:53 PM
Yes, you're right, but the purchase orders went up again! We need more evidence that this token might go somewhere, because so far, it's more of an ETH token and nothing more, does eBTC differ on that of BTCQ? Roll Eyes

====

It's cheap because there is not enough interest at the moment for things to be different! Be careful with the negotiations, be willing to negotiate what you can lose, apparently, you like adventure, right sir HYIP? Grin

You know, if EthDelta keeps on taking coins like these, it'll ruin their reputation. Of course purchase orders went up again cause the devs look to be very active on propping it up, as I can see from the number of shills on this thread. Then again, all the rubbish ETH tokens seem not to have done anything bad to ETH prices, so maybe I don't know anything about crypto after all.

But it's sad to see these blatant hyip/ponzi/pyramid coins making success so quickly. Maybe I need to recalibrate the way I look at crypto after all.
10779  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What does it mean when a coin's circulating supply is close to its max supply? on: November 26, 2017, 09:41:01 AM
A lot of right answers in here but it will be very difficult to predict what happens in price when this situation nears because the economy will depend on a lot of things (all the above, and on each other).

Supply becomes scarcer, so this should mean that price goes higher as there is less to go around. Correct, but only if demand continues. If miners were mining it just because they get rewards, and when supply is max, rewards diminish. So they rely on fees to make money. Here will be the true test of coins. Bitcoin is used the most by merchants and people buying and selling goods and services. But alts with no further use will have low transactions volume, ie less demand. So miners won't have transactions to confirm, and no fee earning, they move away, the network has fewer nodes and becomes less secure... price goes down.

10780  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: WHY is a preference to dag-technology, like a BYTEBALL or IOTA? on: November 25, 2017, 07:24:26 PM
Can somebody explain me why is DAG better then blokchain? How It will affect other currencies (ETH,BTC)?
So firstly, DAG is a block free technology. Without miners and their influence on a network. Scalability isn't a problem in cryptos based on DAG.  Confirmation time is faster because you mustn't wait than your transaction  is placed to a blockchain. Moreover all transaction fees (byteball) go to other users (Iota has zero fees). A lot of wealth from bitcoin ecosystem earn energy companies

This is also my understanding, DAG's main edge over so called first generation blockchain is that it is block free. From what I understand, when the network grows, that is more users, more transactions and more nodes, the network actually gets faster and more secure. How exactly this works I don't quite understand at least, not how it helps to scale. I've seen now three DAGs, I believe Byteball was the first one that looked serious and had all that attention thanks to almost hitting $1,000 back in April or May.

But I think this is all theory, they never grew big enough to test their scalability, in my opinion.
