bter != cryptsy
Look for the transaction id cryptsy gives you when viewing all btc withdrawals and look up this id @ blockchain.info.
1082  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Best place to buy Quarkcoin on: December 14, 2013, 02:43:17 PM
Cryptsy is great when everything works, sometimes their servers are slow and coins miss for some time. Everything has alway been corrected rather fast though in my experience. Otherwise you can try bter.com, a chinese exchange that deals with QRK and is good, also btc-38 is expected to add QRK very soon.
1083  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Applecoin - Now on BTC38.com, Surpasses 5 Million Market Cap. on: December 14, 2013, 02:37:24 PM
Holy shit look at that Applecoin price @ btc-38!  Shocked
http://www.btc38.com/trade.html?btc38_trade_coin_name=apc

Exactly my point, why is this price at all justified? There's nothing even remotely innovative in this coin.

So I'm asking this with genuine curiosity and not just to be an ass; why in the hell is this coin worth as much as it is? I don't see anything unique, innovative, or new about it whatsoever. It's just another scrypt-jane N-factor coin with semi-random rewards. Everyone has been paying absurdly high amounts of BTC for this coin since the day it was released, and I cannot see why for the life of me. There's 0 services available for it, yet for some reason people are just dying to pay hundreds of dollars for a single day's worth of mined coins. What gives?

Again, not trying to be a dick about it I just really can't see any sort of justification for its pricing.
APC seems to be really popular in china, look at the amount of chinese users @ applecoin.org, the chinese forum section is larger than all other boards. Two chinese exchanges first adopted Applecoin, so yeah, I'd like to know why APC is so popular in China too. Good marketing? That said, the coin was and is fun to mine.

1086  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Newbies: 50 Scamcoins for you to avoid on: December 14, 2013, 02:21:53 PM
sockpuppet:
this one i saw spreading here recently
do you think that the whole world knew about bitcoin the day it was lunched? thus no one should be asking or accepting help if it was offered?

crash market:
what is the relation between  sockpuppet and crashing market ?
or does you think if X-one puts up a list it will lead to the market crash?

thank you.
Ofcourse you can ask for help and I don't think you are a sockpuppet (which means second or third forum account), but extortion is one for sure!
They try to crash the markets, their main target seems to be QRK at the moment. Just look at the first link I posted and read all the bullshit spam extortion, author of this "scamcoin-list", posted in the QRK main thread. Probably wants to buy cheap just before btc38 adds QRK to their exchange.  Wink
1087  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Newbies: 50 Scamcoins for you to avoid on: December 14, 2013, 02:03:21 PM
OP is also spamming the QRK main thread: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=260031.3580
Also his username seems to be meant seriously: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=230874

Obviously a FUD spreading sockpuppet trying to crash market. Ignored.  Cheesy

1090  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bill Still - Confident Quark will trade at Par with the USD . a 1$ price point. on: December 14, 2013, 01:40:31 PM
here we go again with the quark pr department, they say stuff, we scream shitty premined coin, discussion ensues. Always the same.
Is there a way to filter quark from this forum?
Let's settle on this: Quark was not premined, but most of the 400 million coins were mined in the first months and early adopters had a huge advantage. I know this best, as I once had 500000 of them, but sold most (more than 95%) when the price was much much much lower than it is today. So yes some people probably held and made huge profits, but I assure you many miners sold when the price was low (50 satoshis was normal price for months!).
Still profitable to mine btw if you already own the CPU.
1091  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bill Still believes Quark will trade at Par with the USD . a 1$ price point. on: December 14, 2013, 01:35:48 PM
what the hell is a quark , is that the noise my turd makes when its hits the water?
Protons and Neutrons are made of quarks, there are 6 varieties of quarks.
In this case I think he means Quarkcoin though!  and let's hope he is right!
Oh that's cool, didn't know that "Quark" had a hidden reference to the 6 hashing algorithms that make it so superior.  Cheesy
1092  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Newbies: 50 Scamcoins for you to avoid on: December 14, 2013, 01:32:14 PM
This is an excellent thread! Actually I could summarize your first post to :

"ALL CRYPTOCURRENCY ARE ESSENTIALLY UNFAIR AND HENCE SCAMS".

Which I think is a far more valid statement than picking a random group of coins that exclude Litecoin, Bitcoin and Dogecoin (coincidence much? Cheesy).

You would not happen to own a lot of Dogecoin now would you? You do? What! you naughty boy! Smiley

Disclaimer : I own a lot of dogecoin....but that does not mean it doesn't belong on this list Smiley Just because it's obviously not serious does not mean Reddit is not trying to capitalize on it with every inch of leverage they can muster  Cool
Very good point. All this FUD about clonecoins being scam will hurt all cryptocurrencies in the long term, Bitcoin included. If a clone of Bitcoin is shitty, Bitcoin must be too, right?  Wink
1093  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [QRK] Quark | Super secure hashing | CPU mining on: December 14, 2013, 01:17:17 PM
You meant sifcoin's influence, right? Quarkcoin Dev stole sifcoin sourcecode, removed the copyrights, then released it. Ironically, Baritus stole quarkcoin sourcecode, removed copyrights and rebranded it as Securecoin, neither of which is the point.

Incorrect. Sifcoin authors did not add a copyright notice. I ADDED a copright notice for Sifcoin to acknowledge their contribution. Baritus did the opposite and removed the Quark copyright notice.

Also wasn't Sifcoin heavily premined?
1094  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [QRK] Quark | Super secure hashing | CPU mining on: December 14, 2013, 12:20:15 PM
The price is all over the place at the moment.  A mix of disappointment about BTC38 and looking forward to Max Keiser!
The reddit campaign surely plays a role too, but the market got so spammed with "QRK IS A SCAM OMFG" that they don't listen to this bullshit anymore and keep buying. Look how the lows get higher each time.  Cheesy
1095  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [QRK] Quark | Super secure hashing | CPU mining on: December 14, 2013, 12:12:53 PM
I'm amazed by the amount of obviously coordinated FUD and shitstorm campaigns. Also, don't spam, use the edit button.  Roll Eyes
edit: Look how the QRK/BTC floor this time was quite a bit higher than the last one (cryptsy).  Cheesy
