1081  Economy / Speculation / Re: Make a prediction for April 1st and win a physical coin from Digital Space Post on: February 28, 2016, 02:50:09 PM
Nice contest. The problem is that people can use multiple email addresses and try to get an unfair edge.
It would be better if you link it to a bitcointalk id.
People may have alts, but that is definitely less likely than having multiple email ids.
1082  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Asia Cup T20 cricket matches discussions and predictions on: February 28, 2016, 02:47:26 PM
Sabbir Rahman playing wonderful cricket for Bangladesh and on other hand Shakib Al Hasan also doing nice with this partnership and they need few more big overs like this one 17 runs scored in 13th over than it would be total different story and Bangladesh will be into fighting position.

Good knock played by Sabbir to take Bangladesh to a fighting total. They seem to be losing their way in the slog overs, but if they get a few more runs, I will place them as favourites in this match. Can they get to 150?
1083  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Asia Cup T20 cricket matches discussions and predictions on: February 27, 2016, 02:09:54 PM
what a bowling from India, Pakistan are in real trouble they have lost 4 wickets for 35 runs in 7 overs and while typing they lost one more wicket and i think this match is clearly won by india.

With 5 wickets down, Pakistan are clearly out. I don't think they can recover from this mess.
No matter how strong their bowling is, India is going to easily win this.
1084  Economy / Economics / Re: People not buying 3XX like crazy will hate themselves in 6 months on: February 27, 2016, 01:58:16 PM
I will regret in a few year's time that I did not buy crazily when the price was 3xx. We will not see that price in 6 months.

You're still early if you want to buy. We are currently at $420, just a tad over $3xx. In 6 months we'll see a much higher price than that.

In 6 months, the price will be at least $800. The block reward halving will raise the price quite a lot.

Nobody really knows what will happen after the halving. For all you know, the price rise from $2xx to $4xx could be in anticipation of the halving.
The halving effect could already be incorporated in the current price.
I am amused how people are convinced that price MUST go up after halving. Do you guys know that we had halvings before right?
And after none of them price skyrocketed, it was quite the opposite, we had price decline after previous bitcoin and litecoin halvings.

We have had one block reward halving. The price right now is definitely higher than what it was at the time of the last halving.
In general, there has been a trend upwards.
1085  Economy / Economics / Re: Negative Interest Rates on: February 27, 2016, 01:40:43 PM
Yes act absurd, because why would anyone want to borrow money with a negative return on assets,
when it can simply keep the money and there is no loss?
Who will be ok in saving money with a negative profit that is mean i will give you my money and every month take some to your self it is noy logique
This idea doesn't work... so you take out credit, and you receive interest on the credit you take out? That doesnt' make any sense. Also it would mean when you deposit money to a bank your savings decrease... Which means that everyone would be trying to take out loans, and nobody would be offering loans. Which would not work at all.

Right... anyway, it was said that Japan has an incredibly low inflation rate. In comparison to the US, it might be worth having that -0.1% with no inflation rather than in reality LOSING money but appearing to gain it. Remember, monetary values can decrease... but Japan is doing fine.

No inflation means that putting your money in a bank with a negative interest rate still gets you overall more money than if you were to deposit it in, let's say, the Bank of America. As previous people had already stated, this also helps to drive the economy. Don't reply without actually reading more deeply into the topic. It might be interesting to see about it. Who knows? You could learn something, instead of purely posting for a tiny amount money. Hypocritical? Sure, I'm in a signature campaign... but at least I take a few minutes (not much time, guys!) to think about what I'm posting.

Thanks.

Inflation may be a capital killer in other countries, but that is no reason to have negative interest rates (no matter how low inflation is). It is best to reward savers with some real return (net of inflation). Negative interest rates punish savers.

I would wait to see which one wins the toss and the first 5 overs will decide the fate of the both teams.Indian team is very strong in batting but is weak at bowling in comparison with Pakistan team. What is sure match is about to be enjoyed a real match with real competition.

Not a good start for Pakistan. Losing a wicket in the very first over.
They need to make sure they get through the initial phase without losing too many wickets.
1087  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Asia Cup T20 cricket matches discussions and predictions on: February 26, 2016, 04:24:42 PM
Looks like another easy win for Bangladesh.
Yet again, the favourite team has an easy win.

I think the beggars situation is marginal, in a no-cash society people would simply trade (especially if they have an incentive to do it like the mandatory fees).
So instead of money the beggers would simply receive items (food for instance).

But I believe that even in a cashless society people would still manage to exchange an equivalent, even if it is not backed by the government. (like a kind of checks)

That is definitely true. There are situations when cash becomes worthless (due to hyperinflation). That is similar to a situation where cash is banned. Life definitely goes on, for beggars as well as everybody else.

UAE has bowled well. I thought they might have a chance against a weak team like Bangaldesh.
But it looks like their batting might let them down.
1092  Economy / Economics / Re: Why Socialism is the key on: February 25, 2016, 04:09:04 PM
Ok I say it for all Americans reading this thread, you all seem to have a problem with that so here it is:

SOCIALISM IS NOT COMMUNISM

If you wanna know the differences just google them. Those two things are incredibly different!

Why are the 2 incredibly different?  Huh
Communism is just an extreme form of socialism.
This site gives a good comparison of the two.

Price is hovering around the $42x mark. It doesn't take much to push it to $3xx levels.
Just 5% decline - that happens routinely with Bitcoin.

Indian team is in great form at a moment, and they will continue their form, and one advantage Indian team would be having that they will be playing their second match of tournament and it will be first match for Pakistan team, so they might need time to cope up with the conditions.

Nobody is even bothered about the UAE-Sri Lanka match.  Grin
UAE's bowlers did well to restrict Sri Lanka, but looks like the batsmen will them down.
1095  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What are your favorite gambling games? on: February 25, 2016, 04:00:20 PM
My favorite gambling games in cards is poker and blackjack as I find it easy and not much luck needed for it, but generally I would love to gamble on sports as I find it easy and have opportunity to win.
yeah poker and blackjack requires more skill than luck. but I think for the sport. you also need luck mate

Sports is unpredictable, but if you have a good understanding of the game, and you pay attention to the odds, you can make money. That is why I like sport betting.

Jackson Bird delivered awesome performance for Australia he helped a lot to get it into very strong position by picking 5 wickets into early session and restrict New Zealand' inning at 335 runs, Australia is very close to win this match too remaining 131 runs is not a big target.

That is true. With 9 wickets in hand, Australia will be clear favourites.
Given their strong batting performance in the first innings, knocking off the remaining runs should be a walk in the park.
1097  Economy / Economics / Re: Forget Grexit. BREXIT is the Bigger Threat to Europe. on: February 23, 2016, 02:42:25 PM
Another opportunity for traders to make money out of volatility.
In the end, I don't think status quo is going to change. There is no pressing need for Britain to exit the EU.
1098  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cricket match prediction discussions on: February 23, 2016, 01:37:54 AM
This is getting more interested as New Zealand is playing better than expected. If they win this match I will be nicely losing on my 0.05 bitcoins.Even though Australia has performed their part well,I think they can still do better in the bowling to keep score under control.

New Zealand is leading by 125 runs with 3 wickets still remaining. In this second innings NZ batsman didn't build good partnerships to put up a fighting score. At present situation, it looks Australia may win this match easily but hope these last three NZ batsman will add another 100+ runs than match will be bit interesting to watch.

Australia are definitely favourites and will be looking to chase no more than 160-170 here. A target of 200 might make the match interesting, but I doubt if New Zealand will get anywhere close to that. This current partnership is worth 60+ runs and that has saved New Zealand some embarrassment.

1100  Economy / Economics / Re: When do you buy Bitcoin ? on: February 22, 2016, 05:12:21 PM
I buy bitcoins when the price is low and the bitcoin has a good potential for the future, I think its just a matter of time till its the price will go to a high amount so we will see what happens.
Also knowing that the halving is coming so the price will go to a high amount for sure.

Price is low in relation to what?
Price of $500 looked good around a couple of years back, but doesn't look so now.
It is always tough to time the market.
