1081  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin saved my year on: April 16, 2018, 11:55:49 PM
I started 2017 broke and with a very low wage. My girlfriend also broke up with me in the beginning of the year.
Although I had committed some trade mistakes I was able to get 400% gains, thanks to btc.  This gave me hope and made my year a lot better.
I wonder how many people bitcoin "saved" this year, even preventing some suicides maybe.
Bitcoin also gave me a good profit this year and saved my problem in financial aspects. I had been into credits or loans because I badly needed money in my daily needs and family's too. I have three kids and a single mother so I had to take the risks in investing in Bitcoin, and yes, I made a good income out lf it. Thanks to Bitcoin.
Bitcoin really saved my year because it helps me in my financial needs. I made profit through bitcoin and that makes me really happy I happen to buy all of my needs and also wants. And it saved my christmas also because of bitcoin we manage to have a delicious supper on holidays. Thats why I really love bitcoin for helping me.
1082  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: is bitcoin over? on: April 15, 2018, 04:25:56 PM
Bitcoin is never over although the price of it is lower than before. Many people may feel worried or afraid, however, bitcoin system will never be over because it's crypto era now. Because of that, people in this world always need virtual currency for their trading activities. So, we must calm down to receive bad information about bitcoin.
Bitcoin will never be over. In fact I might say it is just started. The value decrease can't dictate if bitcoin will be over. Because as of now bitcoin is just getting more popular and the number of users is just rapidly increasing. The current value of bitcoin is low thats why many of investors buying bitcoin to save for their capital in that way we cant say if the value decrease can end bitcoin.

1084  Economy / Economics / Re: Will bitcoin be banned on Philippines? on: April 12, 2018, 04:50:56 PM
Over 900 Million  pesos worth of bitcoins been scammed.

Filipino couple amasses at least P900M in alleged Bitcoin scam.
MANILA, Philippines (UPDATED) – Police have nabbed a couple promising easy wealth through popular cryptocurrency Bitcoin, Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Director General Ronald dela Rosa announced on Tuesday, April 10.
Arnel and Leonady Ordonio were nabbed by PNP Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) operatives – the police division in charge of high-stakes and high-profile crimes – in Vigan City last April 4 through an entrapment operation.

The scam, Obusan said, is structured like a pyramid scheme but with electronic money.

The Ordonios apparently had middlemen who lured people to invest. They promised to pay victims with their earnings every 15 days.

Fueled by the worldwide Bitcoin hype, more and more people were baited by the Ordonio couple's promises.

The complaints started piling in when investors lost contact with the Ordonios.
Whats happened  next?
Around 50 angry victims stormed to Camp Crame on Tuesday, asking the couple if they could still get back the money they had hoped would grow.

Will bitcoin be banned because of that?
The warnings given were enough, yet people still fall for this scams and silly schemes. Some filipinos greed/lust for instant money is just too much, and is causing too much problems for btc users in the country. The banning might also cause global terror for future investors. Giving btc a bad image. There will be a high chance of banning or they might set higher restrictions againts bitcoin. I hope people will be more aware and educated next time.
1085  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin to hit $50,000 this year?? on: April 08, 2018, 10:05:21 PM
Solid bitcoiners what do you think about this. What would be the possibility that this will happen. https://smartereum.com/2404/bitcoin-price-prediction-2018-can-cryptocurrency-hit-50000-sat-apr-7/
It is possible for bitcoin to hit 50k with its high volatility. But this year? Hmm, I am not really sure abour that. Even with credible sources and important datas, bitcoins price is really unpredictable. Yes, bitcoins fluctuates all the time but in my opinion, it is impossible to reach 50k this year. Im pretty sure btc would reach 18k this yar though.  Grin
1086  Economy / Economics / Re: Is it possible for the bitcoin to lose it's value ? on: April 08, 2018, 08:49:12 PM
Hi , I'm new so basically I still have a lot to learn about the cryptocurrency , but I would like to know if it would be possible for the bitcoin to start the downfall ? I mean like what scenario can happen that the bitcoin would be pushed back like 5-6 years ?
Sorry if my post is in the wrong place or it's not relevant.
It is inevitable. Bitcoin will fall and it cannot be saved. Due to its uprising heat, and people who hates it will try to take it down. The government can ban it, hackers can attack its metwork and it can cause big damage to btc’s price.

Although I am pretty sure that it wont be happening in the next 10-20 years. I think btc will continue to rise for a lomg time. But its dead end is unavoidable.
1087  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: selling bitcoin is a stupid decision ? on: April 08, 2018, 07:47:53 PM
Hi guys , I  read in social media that many people are panicking its because bitcoin dropped every hour and they think they might lose their money because of that .Well for me , there's no need to panic because when bitcoin dropped as its lowest price its a blessing . And also joining in CRYPTO CURRENCY WORLD, you already know what risk you  should face , and  its a win and win bet when you hold bitcoin . So knowing that  some people selling their bitcoin I feel so sorry for them.

It is not really dumb, neither smart. People are just scared to lose profit. You cant call them dumb, what if bitcoin’s price never really came back up and government around the world bans it? Pretty sure they’d get the last laugh. You are correct though, there’s no need to panic sell everytime the price go down and you cant blame them for selling it. They can still buy and sell coins. It's not the end for the.
1088  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Buying Drugs with Bitcoin ? on: April 08, 2018, 03:26:28 PM
Never bought drugs not with Bitcoin and not with cash and not with anything else however and for what comes to my thoughts I thinks Silk road and this kind of  markets on the deep-web that sells drugs for BTC is the reason people aren't joining Bitcoin community , I mean the media like to point to this kind of stuff and this is bad , same goes for adult content website I assume .
This is what I think so too! This kind of actions gives bitcoin a bad reputation that hinders some people from joining bitcoin. On the other side, this is what makes people use bitcoin. Untraceable clean transactions gives us freedom to buy anything we want. With everything being sold online, and btc is slowly being accepted widely as mode of payment.
1089  Economy / Economics / Re: Do you agree? on: April 07, 2018, 08:45:48 PM
According to CCN, Bitcoin prices will probably climb after April 17, when Tax Day in the United States is over. That’s what Fundstrat co-founder Tom Lee, a noted bitcoin bull, predicts.

If this is true then. Better buy some bitcoins now as long as is it low. Goodluck guys !

Source: @cryptomeren
Bitcoin’s price will go up anytime soon. It is inevitable, and that’s just how bitcoin increases its price. I see where his predictions are coming from, and I think its true. He backed up his speculations with vital informations. Although it is really hard to predict bitcoins price wirh his explanation, it kinda make sense.
1090  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 88% of Japanese have heard of bitcoin -- how about your country? -- on: April 07, 2018, 06:06:37 PM
I'd be curious if Bitcoin Forum members can chime in on what the estimated awareness might be for their region or country:

  https://news.bitcoin.com/survey-japanese-bitcoin/

a quote:
"A recent survey of 10,000 men and women across Japan shows that 88% of them have heard of bitcoin. Among those that have bitcoin, 47% said that they have used it in retail stores but long-term investment is most respondents’ main reason for purchasing bitcoin."

It is widely known in my country, but is not accepted by a few. They are still scared due to some giving it a bad image. Scams, hack threats etc. It is slowly getting a lot of attention though. Especially to the millenials and some adult are really getting into it.
1091  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin can be hacked? on: April 06, 2018, 06:44:05 PM
actually i want to know there is a possibility have to hack this supper e-money, because somebody hack it will be a huge effect for the economy.
pls give your valuable opinion. Sad Sad Sad Sad Sad Sad
I dont think bitcoin can be hacked. Its possible but it would take too much resources and I think there’s no point in hacking bitcoin too. See, bitcoins price mostly depends on demand and supply high demand low supply means higher price. If bitcoin is hacked, people would stay away from it because it is not a good investment. Why would people invest their money in something that they can lose easily. No people, kills the demand for it. Killing bitcoin wouldn’t be beneficial for them.
1092  Economy / Economics / Re: why do people agree to pay taxes? on: April 06, 2018, 04:17:09 PM
because they are crayz Smiley

I would like to use financal indenpendence of crypto currency..
They are crazy, but it is a system that we had followed and had made some countries gain alot of progress. It is our contribution as a citizen of our respective country. In where I live our community/city is a well funded city. Not a 100% secure but still somewhat ideal city to live in. Beautiful public schools, parks, libraries. Everything is well maintained and we can see the taxes that we paid for being used in the correct way.

I see your point. How crazy corrupt 3rd world countries are. If they use all the taxes in the correct way then everything will really lift up the whole country.
1093  Economy / Economics / Re: Do you think cryptocurrencies have the potential to overtake regular currencies? on: April 05, 2018, 01:16:22 PM
Would banks and governments actively work and implement countermeasures to undermine this process? Are the underestimating the potential of cryptocurrencies by investing in some of them?
Do you think there is a possibility of cryptocurrencies being banned in the future for the reason of being a threat to "normal" currencies?

I don’t see bitcoin as a threat to normal currency. There is no possible way that it will replace normal currency. Bitcoin can be an alternative way to pay though since it is more secure. I also don’t think that the government will implement countermeasures to undermine this process. I think they would rather earn more money rather than ban a possible source of income.
1094  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Bitcoin really secure? on: April 04, 2018, 11:36:41 PM
Hello pals,
Recently I introduced Bitcoin and cryptocurrency to my friends and family, they liked the concept but they asked me a question that I wasn't able to answer. Is Bitcoin really secure? What if a hacker was able to hack Bitcoin system/blockchain?Who manages Bitcoin security and what are the security measures taken to avoid hackers being able to steal Bitcoins? Why Bitcoin is not blocked for those who use it illegally by buying/selling in the deepweb market? What if governements ban Bitcoin because of these people?
I really appreciate if you  guys give me some answers
Personally, I think bitcoin is secure. Althouh it has made headlines that hackers had enter etc. I think it is just the users mistakes. The best action to take is always secure your coin and do not leave it hanging in online wallet for hackers to take. Bitcoin has a next level security, and I think that’s why people use it.  Even some criminals/terrorist as stated by the news. That’s how secured bitcoin is.
1095  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can Bitcoin Ever Be Shutdown? on: April 04, 2018, 12:55:19 PM
I was just wondering, what would it take for the Bitcoin Network to be shutdown completely?
To take the bitcoin network down might be a lot of work. They can remove access to it rather than shutting the whole network down. It would take a lot to take down this kind of network. They can also make laws that btc would be considered banned and illegal and that would lessem the users and eventually kil btc.
1096  Economy / Economics / Re: Can bitcoin help poor children in underdeveloped countries? on: April 03, 2018, 07:11:32 PM
Illiteracy is the cause of poverty. We know a cup of coffee (Starbucks) = 20 notebooks, or a school bag, or two pairs of slippers for poor children in Vietnam.
It’s not bitcoins responsibility to feed pr help people. It is humans responsibility to help each other, specifically the government. We can create charity programs or fund raisers with bitcoin though and it is guaranteed to help them due to bitcoins abundance and its value. If each of us is kind enough maybe we can try to provide their basic needs. Its a long shot I know but it might just work. They dont have much access as we do since they are in a third world country. The advancement of their technology is too slow and their lack of education is a big hindrance for them to progress. Again, bitcoin cannot help the poor, only people can, but people’s selfishness and greed is just disgustingly too much.  Sad
1097  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is bitcoin used by criminals ? on: April 03, 2018, 03:57:58 PM
I once read an article that says bitcoin is used as a payment transaction for terrorists and hackers. And maybe you guys in this forum also already know it. But here i want to convey my personal opinion in that matter. I think that internet and bitcoin interrelated. Many terrorists and criminals use internet .so also with bitcoin which used perpetrator However, despite all these issues, do people make concrete efforts to ban the internet? No. Not because removing and banning Bitcoin is difficult, but because the internet offers more positive than negative. For the same reason, we have to be more careful about our mindset for Bitcoin, because much evidence has shown that Bitcoin brings many positive, if not more, effects than the internet. Internet and Bitcoin are just devices that 'bad guys' and 'good people'. Fortunately, the world is filled with more people in the 'good people' category.
We can’t really control who uses bitcoin. Everyone is anonymous and untraceable. Bitcoin just creates another world. I think this why other people also thinks that bitcoin is not good. It is because it’s accessible and can be used by anyone. Luckily this type of forums lessens this type of users by not allowing illegal transactions.
1098  Economy / Speculation / Re: Falling is not a bad thing. on: April 03, 2018, 12:51:14 PM
A hard hit may not be a bad thing, stopping the irrational game in time to really save bitcoin. It would be a real disaster if bitcoin were allowed to become a highly speculative target.

I think the price reduction is a good thing. What do you think?

In my opinion its not good neither bad but it is scary. People also panick when the price drops crazyily low. It causes a sudden imbalance. What people who panicked doesn’t know is this kind of volatility is just bicoins normal nature. Yes it is scary due to unpredictability. It doesn't go down and go up rocketing suddenly. It is not a spring. It is literally unpredictable.
1099  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin reduces unemployment on: April 03, 2018, 02:49:31 AM
I think in the presence of bitcoin will reduce unemployment, because searching for bitcoin also requires hard work and creativity, and competitiveness in bitcoin is also high almost similar to work in the real world

What is your opinion this time?
Bitcoin can reduce unemployment and become a source of income for most people but it is not as dependable as a legitimate job. Maybe one day it will be considered as a legitimate job. But I highly doubt it since bitcoin doesn’t last for an eternity. Yes it will be around for a very very long time. But it will never be as important as manual labor job.
1100  Economy / Economics / Re: Is bitcoin dead? on: April 02, 2018, 03:42:21 PM
I think it is.

Bitcoin use adoption has stalled. Media interest has dissipated. Prices have only slowly continued to decline for a long time now. Bitcoin securities have always been and still are a complete mess, with a near 100% failure (scam/fraud/incompetence/etc) rate. Mining has been concentrated in the hands of a few giant players, eliminating much of the advantage/security/democracy of thousands of individuals being the money processors. Alternative forms of online payment with US dollars (and other fiat currencies) are now cheaper, faster, and more secure than bitcoin (and of course far more usable to buy/sell real goods/services), eliminating any of its advantages as a payment system. Continued decline of bitcoin and strength in fiat currencies has put the lie to the idea of bitcoin as a store of value; there are far better more reliable hedges against inflation. Meanwhile the real economy is firing on all cylinders, stock markets are at all time highs, corporate earnings are higher than ever, unemployment is low, etc. Even amid the boom, no one cares about bitcoin any more. Bitcoin was a fad that lasted a few years, and is now on its way to being forgotten.

Thoughts? Anyone seriously disagree with this conclusion?
These types of problem are very common. This is just a drought to a lomg fruitful year. If bitcoin surpasses this problems then it would rocket up. You don’t expect something great to have a perfect run. Although medias attention is big its still doesn’t that much. Wait till bitcoin solves all the problem then look at the media again.
