10881  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Storm is coming - big one? on: September 13, 2017, 02:19:39 PM
Binance has stopped Chinese trading. That is not the same as Chinese government blocking.  Bitcoin is still above the $4000 level. Perhaps it will maintain this for a while. Can Chinese investors not use other exchange.

On the contrary, on a average from different trading platforms, bitcoin is trading at $38xx so the dumping of the Chinese still continues. I believed that we are in the eye of the storm currency, but as I see it we can withstand this storm and this is just temporary. Once this storm has left we can see the sun once again. I don't know if Chinese traders can go outside of China to trade. Maybe they can use VPN to get away with the i.p. address issue. But for us non-Chinese, this is a perfect time to buy cheap bitcoins. So let's hodl and not panic but preferably get bitcoin now while its price is low.
10882  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Jamie Dimon: Bitcoin Is a 'Fraud' on: September 13, 2017, 12:36:39 PM
JP Morgan Chase chief executive Jamie Dimon doubled down on his past criticisms of bitcoin today, declaring it a "fraud" and saying he would fire any trader known to be trading the cryptocurrency.

And Recently bitcoin price started dropping very quick and its like $1 dollars in a minute and within few hours today its now in $3923!!
China keeps the market stable but when "Jamie Dimon" speaks about this market started falling huge!

Check this attached photo:

What you guys feel about this movement?

Maybe he called it fraud because of what happening in cryptos now its all going down including btc . They assume that bitcoin is always high price thats why now they are saying fraud, scam etc but no one can break bitcoin . Millions of btc users all over the world can you think it is a fraud now?

They say is a fraud because bitcoin + lightning network would render banks useless, and these guys live awesome rich elite lifes thanks to their banking system scam that allows them to collect money for life while doing absolutely nothing. They hate that common people are getting rich by buying and holding an asset that doesn't depreciate overtime unlike their fiat scam.

Let them crash market as many times as they want, bitcoin will always recover, there's always bull pressure and new floors will be found. Don't forget we were at $800 just a year ago.

I agree. They are now feeling threaten by bitcoin/blockchain technology that they feel they need to do something about it and the best way is to create panic amongst investor as we all know that he is very influential as head of JP Morgan. But just like you said, we always recover from all the issues being thrown our way.
The only thing I notice is the timing though, I'm pretty sure he knows about the current situation of the market and he's statement really put everyone nervous that's why the sudden dump and the price is nose diving as we speak.
10883  Economy / Economics / Re: dropping value on: September 13, 2017, 12:11:23 PM
what's happening in the bitcoin?? Why continue his descent? should we Convert bitcoin in php?? Im worried for this, my bitcoin is still down,

Convert bitcoin to php?

Go ahead you may do whatever you like its your bitcoin. That's why people around here said the "weak hands are shaken" and you are one good example of it. If you sell your bitcoin then what's gonna happen to you if you see the price go to $5000? Regretful? That's why members here are advising you not to panic in this situation because bitcoin is very volatile because of a lot of negative news coming from China and JP Morgan CEO Jamie Dimon calling bitcoin as fraud. This is the cause of the price decrease. So just stay calm because once bitcoin recovered you will be happy that you didn't sell your bitcoin today.
10884  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Bitcoin in the moon!!! on: September 12, 2017, 01:39:17 PM
BTC  can not be defeated,  many  country once  banned btc , but  all those country  re-accepted  btc  at last.   btc will  be the  worldwide coin in future.

this is already very certain ,, but in the last two days bitcoin has decreased enough to worry ,, and I think more to continue to buy bitcoin so we can see bitcoin back to the track with an expensive price ..
and this will benefit us in the future ...
The decline of bitcoin may be due to the Chinese state issue will ban the exchangers, but I also don't follow the news and how it will be now?. After this problem is finished I think bitcoin will go back up hopefully bitcoin demand will rise later.

The demand of bitcoin is already increase and that we can notice from the increasing price of bitcoin in recent times and in future we will see more people getting into bitcoins which will again contribute in taking price to higher level and that will surely take bitcoins to the moon.
there has been a start of rising bitcoin prices and now we have started to leave a negative trend that has happened for a few days ago. although the Chinese state still has not given a clear statement but the demand and also the development of bitcoin increased dramatically.

Well its looks like bitcoin is recovering to recover anyways despite the negative news coming from one the best supporter of bitcoin-China. The price has significantly risen now, from almost a week of bloodbath. Even ETH is above $300 now. I guess with or without China, bitcoin will lived as almost all of us have seen. I read that that they are targeting 2-3 years in shutting down all the local exchanges but I don't know if this is fake news again or real. Again, we should moved forward now and forget all about China.
10885  Economy / Speculation / Re: BITCOIN DUMP - CHINESE ARE OFFLOADING... on: September 12, 2017, 01:08:59 PM
Is a monster dump on the way?

I'm looking at the charts and seeing quite the opposite. I am seeing loads of FUD combined with incredibly bearish sentiment. And all the while, bears simply can't push the price down. Rejected over and over. Accumulation.

We are setting up for another strong leg up. It might be the blow off top that the bears were hoping for. I suspect the current consolidation is garnering lots of short positions which will be squeezed at the top. Then we can finally have a real correction. $6000s-$7000s IMO.

I think consolidation has started and trying to see if we can get to $4500 tops. The FUDs and this negative news coming from China should be over at least that way I see it. They already made their moved a couple of days ago. So I think they have complete stop the dump or just thinking of transferring their coins to other exchange outside of China. I'm with you with the $6000-$7000 prediction,. But I want to see the price hold on $5000 and see that the steam has been brewing before hitting $6000-$7000 in the coming months.
10886  Bitcoin / Press / Re: 【2017-09-12】It Will Take Two or Three Years B4 all Chinese Exchanges Are Banned on: September 12, 2017, 12:30:11 PM
Forget the Chinese news journals, even mainstream world wide media reporting about a possible ban. When publications like Wall Street Journal and Bloomberg start talking about a ban, you have to take them seriously. I am not sure if the Chinese government will achieve its objectives, but it does seem to be trying to crush Bitcoin. The ICO ban was just the first step in a series of efforts.

But still the question is why now? But not when bitcoin has in still infancy? I think they are waging this war because they felt that the government are being threaten here. But if they really want to ban local exchanges then so be it. If I'm a Chinese trader I will be moving my funds by now. Maybe to Kraken or Polo as long as its not on the reach of the government. Just pretty sad to hear these news though as China has been the front of bitcoin mining, bitcoin trading in the last couple of years. But this is a perfect opportunity for other country to take the void that China would have left.
10887  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How can you tell if you are suffering from gambling addiction? on: September 12, 2017, 11:49:18 AM
I just want to ask how would you know if a person is suffering from gambling addiction. Can you guys tell me the signs of it?

I can tell if someone is addicted in gambling when the person forget his job/school just to gamble, when he spend all his time in a casino/gambling sites, become very irritable specially if he lost big amount of money, trying to get back lost money by gambling more and the worst sign is when the person start to borrow money or has a big debt just to sustain his gambling addiction.
When they no longer know their priorities in life, and let gambling always comes first to them ,then they are totally addicted. Anything that is too much will not really be good for ourselves, always put some limits.

I would also like to add that they are easily annoyed whenever they haven't gamble throughout the day. The worst is that they put that anger by hurting someone especially their families that cannot give his money that he asked for.

True. I have witnessed this gambler multiple times already. The worst part is that it can easily torn a family or even friends. Really painful to see someone you care turn into a gambling addict after showing him/her how to gamble. I felt guilty about it and party to blame for this person life suddenly turns upside down after introducing him/her into the gambling world. If I knew that my one of my friend will turn into this, I shouldn't let him gamble in the first place. I felt really sorry and guilty. There are times that we will talk personally and he/she will just cry over it. So sad really. Sad
10888  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What happens if BTC gets regulated? on: September 12, 2017, 11:26:43 AM
Bitcoin will never be regulated by the state. Perhaps the state will try to create their own crypto currency and they will be monitored by the government. Don't know how it's going to have the trust of the people, but such currency will be more stable that's for sure.

That is no true. There are already some countries where Bitcoin is already regulated, like Netherlands and some US states, Japan. And there is no harm in Bitcoin regulation, that could only benefit because it would lead to biger addoption, especialy in businesses, and then you can divide legal from illegal Bitcoin operations. Regulation doesn't mean centralization that many users have fear.

I think in Japan its already legalized as legal tender. That's why you see a lot of business in Japan has already started to accept bitcoin as payment just like their Yen. Japan has already set the bar high as to how a country can "regulate" or "legalized" bitcoin. Yes, regulation doesn't mean centralization. Regulation is there to check and see to it that you have not violated lets say AML law or your country. So its really far fetch for me how bitcoin can be regulated or "controlled" by the government. Its either they ban or accept bitcoin. IMHO.
10889  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: September 11, 2017, 09:42:44 AM
Rafael Nadal has lifted up his 3rd US Open title including the 16th Grand slam title, not only that but also he has reached the pinnacle of the ATP rating. though this year is not favourable for him because of losing in the Wimbledon Final against his rival Roger Federer after a mammoth 5 hours games. he recently recovered from the knee injury and he has to struggle a lot to reach this position. if he could manage his injury year after year then he would have reached all time grand slam record.

I got the feeling that either Nadal and Federer will continue to dominate tennis this year. And this year US Open belongs to Nadal and maybe the next big tournament will be won by Federer. This veterans are really showing that they can still rule the tennis for more years. Perhaps these 2 are really taking care of their body to be able to take long matches. Good to see Nadal back at the the no. 1 spot. I think as I have mentioned they know to take care of their body so to avoid injuries One factor is that they are taking breaks from time to time and just selects which tournament to enter to give their body ample time to rest and heal.
10890  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Should I convert my BCH to BTC? on: September 11, 2017, 09:12:01 AM
Just keep on holding it, I never got it up until now with electron cash. But I have a big sense that this coin is going to be a big blow in the upcoming years. Just like ETH there's a possibility that BCH can follow those top alt coins in the market so just be patient and wait for the right time before selling it.

Well the dump of BCH is now over and what's left in those individual who thinks that BCH has the potential to go big in the future. They maybe some pump in the coming months so I advise those to hodl if you don't want to convert it BCH for now. I already dumped my BCH and I don't regret even If a see the price go higher in the future.

Like many others I hold the BCH I got during the fork.
Those are coins I did not expected to have, so they don't show up anywhere in my plans.
Maybe they surprise me in a few years. But for next few years, those coins will not be touched.

Its free coins anyway and if you able to maximize and get huge profit in the future, then hold on it. There is really a possibility that this coins will take off in the coming months or years. And as mentioned, it could take the path of ETH so its really has the potential to spike as well.
10891  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BLOCKCHAIN NOW PART OF EVERY DAY LIFE on: September 11, 2017, 08:50:57 AM
The creator of the first ever commercial fuel pump to accept bitcoin has revealed a plan to add Lightning Network functionality to his design.

The original machine, designed and built by Andy Schroder in 2014, allows users to scan a QR code and send bitcoin instead of more traditional means of payment. Schroder now wants to adapt his design to incorporate the Lightning's off-chain payments, he announced on the Lightning-dev mailing list yesterday.

However, Schroder pointed out some issues he has with Lightning – which he hopes will provide "real-time micropayments" – including that its invoice protocol BOLT 11 does not appear to accommodate refunds. Refunds are a necessity for the bitcoin fuel dispenser, because it runs on a fixed prepayment, and immediately returns any unused credit at the end of sale, he said.

Schroder is currently using bitcoin improvement protocol (BIP) 70, a user-friendly payment protocol that creates a receipt for the customer, as well as automatically providing a refund address to the seller.

He stated in the mailing list:

"I don't really see an option for a refund address like is present in BIP 70. Is this intentional? If so, why do you not see that people would possibly want to receive a refund?"

He also speculated about a possible fix for this problem that would involve fitting cars with an onboard digital wallet, though he conceded this is not a short-term solution.
No I am not agreeing with that because many of the people still do not understand what blockchain is and how to use it. And in my country almost 70 present people do not use internet, because of their life slandered.

It is other thing that in the future it may be the need of everyday life but not in this era. It will be but when the bitcoin will take place of all the regular currencies of the world.

On the contrary, how will they know bitcoin/blockchain technology if they wouldn't use or apply it? For me this is a good step as other industry outside of banking are really applying blockchain because of the many advantage of it. As far as refund is concern, this should be the first thing that a merchant will have to understand, that any transaction in bitcoin cannot be reversed and they can only be refunded by the person receiving the funds. However, bitcoin can detect if you put an invalid address by mistake.
10892  Economy / Economics / Re: The Wall Street Jornal - China to Shut Bitcoin Exchanges SEPTEMBER 11, on: September 11, 2017, 06:34:26 AM
Not news to us. We have seen this article spinned already causing panic to investors and its reflective on the market price now. Well, at least we have already weathered the storm just like any bumps we have seen so far. And looking at the price today, looks like we are heading in the right direction already so we might expect a few spike today and the rest of the week and perhaps you could touch $5000 once again. Its no lost for us really because all the Chinese investors will just go the Western exchanges and continue their trading.
10893  Economy / Economics / Re: Mental barrier stops from buying BTC on: September 09, 2017, 01:53:16 PM
Emotion and psychology are very difficult to control. But you have to learn how to control it. Only then can you make the right decisions. In order to have confidence in yourself, to control your emotions, you have to understand the market carefully and follow the fluctuation of prices to be able to predict accurately. So you can succeed in investing btc. But all are exceptions. There will definitely be wrong decisions. But, try!

Sometimes, listening to your emotions and gut feelings may lead one to their success because it makes them decide wisely. Other times, it make them too scared to make a decision just as you have shared. There's nothing wrong with that, it is but normal to feel scared sometimes or have some doubts. Just don't let it have total control over you or you will lose your mind overthinking about it.

It really is hard to make predictions and speculations, and there is no 100% accurate price prediction out there so just try to research thoroughly and make a judgement for yourself so that you can make decisions confidently.

Yes, sometimes those gut feeling or emotions are leading you do a good direction. But if you think otherwise then you will regret and a lot of 'what if' questions being asked. So it really depends on the individual if he is willing to hear those feeling inside of you telling to buy bitcoin specially dips. However, its not always right as well, so you have to really balance yourself if you are going to listen to yourself or not.
10894  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Buying Products Using Bitcoin - Videos on: September 09, 2017, 01:00:40 PM
Well this is not a video but the first one if I'm not mistaken. Dubai developer has recently started to accept bitcoin as payment for an apartment or condo units. Its says around 50 BTC so its really quite expensive. I consider the developer a bitcoin enthusiast and this will be a good example that maybe in the future, this will be trend in buying good apartment not only in Dubai or Middle East but in other parts of the globe. Here is the article for those who are interested.

Carmelo Anthony says he 'will always be tied to New York'

Ok looks like those words really a good basis that we can't see Carmelo Anthony on New York jersey this upcoming season. Still there is no clear path whether on what team this guy will transfer. Current rumors revolving around the Melo trade still not even close to reality. Looks like we are waiting again for another drama.

I agreed. If you read between the lines, it looks like he is ready to go. Question is where? Its just a few weeks before this season and its no clear what's New York Knicks plan for him. Maybe Anthony can opt for a buy-out?

For me, he still has a lot of potential and can contribute to the team he chooses to. He is still chasing for that elusive ring though. I just hope he can find a home already because as I have said, just a few weeks to adjust to a new team if ever New York will release him.

Yes the drama still on process and there's no team yet who are in the table for who will get Anthony.

Even by looking at rumors, we can't say which team are being closed to the deal. But I know there is happening already but didn't just exposing it to the public.
It might seem that the Houston Rockets is where Melo wants to play but there are still some other teams that are interested in acquiring him. Kyrie Irving said before that his preferences are New York or San Antonio but very few saw him being traded to their rivals, the Celtics. So we might see some twists and turns in this Melodrama version 2.

Melo is a friend and batchmate of LBJ, Maybe we will see him playing in Cavs with LBJ later. He is a valuable player that still don't have a championship ring. He must join the team that has a potential to get it just like what Durant did. Westbrook and Harden will never get the championship ring if they continue to stick to their team. There are many new good players every year.
What an interesting catch if melo will play along side with lebron as we knew their rivalry from the rookie years maybe if they got a chance to play together it will be a good 1-2 punch game just hoping that it will not be like drexler and Barkley back from the rockets..

Barkley and Drexler played different positions when they play together in Houston. So it doesn't make sense to compare them with Lebron-Melo if ever. But I have to agree that if they play together Cavaliers can match up with Golden State then. It will be awesome to see those greats making good passes like in an All-Star game. But we all have to have, the Melo drama is not yet done, and its barely weeks before the opening of this season.
10896  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trading Secrets? on: September 09, 2017, 11:59:34 AM
Although I'm far from a succesfull trader, I've learned this from experience: set realistic goals. Better not buy some random cheap altcoin in the hope of squeezing out 100x ROI within weeks. It could happen but chances are very low and you'll probably get disappointed. Do some research and pick crypto with a solid ground.

Also, going entirely into altcoins is a bit risky in the sense that your crypto could diminish significantly relative to BTC in a short period of time. Own experience: value of my portfolio in USD increased with roughly 800% in the 1st half of this year, but value in BTC decreased with 20%. A nice profit but could have been larger if I had a significant percentage of BTC in that timespan.

Also, you need to set your entry and exit point. Otherwise, you will be trap forever and can't get out of a certain coins. Set your goal, like what should be my minimum entry and what should be my maximum to exit? If you can come up a plan that include this, then chances are, you can mitigate your risk, and not go here and cry to lose your investment in a certain coin and can't get out now because you are trapped. And what have others have said as well, try to check and research what coins you are going to invest to begin with.
10897  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2017-09-09] Bitcoin Price Sinks Below $4,200 on China Uncertainty on: September 09, 2017, 11:11:36 AM
But its currently trading at above $4300 now from a high of $4700 just a couple of days ago. China is shaking bitcoin today and the fake news really had a impact, just like when that announce that they are banning ICO's as well. Are they really putting the ban hammer on bitcoin or they just want to established a tighter regulation surrounding it? I can't understand why they are suddenly making U-turn on bitcoin, do they consider it really a threat to their yen? This remains to be seen in the next weeks or so if the price will continue to go down or recover.
10898  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: CryptoCurrency Ban in China on: September 09, 2017, 10:51:19 AM
nothing, just one country out of ~190 countries in the world will start to fall behind the rest of the world because the rest are adopting bitcoin every day and have already started regulating bitcoin like Japan did earlier this year.

as for price, there may be some turbulence for a short time, less than 2 weeks probably and then things will be back to normal as if nothing had happened!

Exactly, though as big as their influence of the market, countries like Japan and South Korea or even Australia who have embrace bitcoin can take the reign from the Chinese. We already saw what the Japanese can do, they are crazy over bitcoin and don't mind to take it over from the Chinese, if they decided to go from bitcoin friendly, to anti-bitcoin country.

As for the price, it will dip, so the best thing to do is to buy in this situation so I guess its still a win-win for all of us. We will just have to see how deep the impact of their action to the bitcoin market. But for sure, bitcoin price will recover once again and going strong at the end of the year.
10899  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Frustration in betting. on: September 09, 2017, 10:12:50 AM
There is frustration sometimes like the higher and the impossible odds team winning but that is still fine in betting there is nothing called like a guarantee no matter if you bet on a odd of 1.01 there is still a chance that the other team wins betting is worst that gambling games avoid it

You are really unlucky if you still lost at 1.01 odd, and no need for me to be frustrated as well  Its part of the game, and accept the fact to accept your loses. I myself, have experienced to bet on that kind of odd and lost as well. I just shrug it off and look for the next game to bet on. We 'experienced' gamblers should now this. No matter what the tips is, if the criteria is not fulfilled then you are not going to win. Live another day, as a recall one gambler telling me about how to deal with losses. Forget it, and live for the next day to bet.
10900  Economy / Speculation / Re: China Closing Doors Equals Death of Bitcoin? on: September 09, 2017, 07:53:17 AM
A false news circulated that China is now on the verge of banning all Bitcoin exchanges from operating the country was sending a big chill throughout the cryptocurrency ecosystem and markets. This news came after the recent announcement banning all ICO projects.

Now, we are seeing that the market is putting some heavy weight on developments on China and the decisions coming from the government. No I am wondering what if it would really ban all Bitcoin activities within their legal territories?

Will it be the end of Bitcoin or will Bitcoin slowly ignore China?

Its really hard to fathom what you are saying here. We all know for a fact that China is a big player in bitcoin ecosystem. If these chose to shuts it door, so be it. Definitely it will has a strong effect in the market and we have to endure it. However, I guess we can still recover from such devastation because there are countries like Japan and South Korea that will continue what China has left. Or we may see some countries that will take over in terms of mining bitcoin.
