I'm willing to bet that not a single shadow person has ever been observed in the wild by an individual who's well rested and mind's not yet overloaded with pressing tasks that need addressing.

When I used to be visited by SPs, I started grabbing the closest one and fuck the shit out it, for I knew that I needed to relieve some tension and thought that's why they came around. But they soon got wise to my abilities, thus no longer visiting me. So I got me a shadow goat, and been happen ever since. When the lighting is poor, I pretend the goat is still there.

WOWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW WTF WOWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW I guess everyone has their price. I don't know what to say to that, but dam I guess he was hard up for coins, thank god for lending and other revenues.

Can't wait for somebody to post a bounty that involves a goat.

You guys do know that there's a potential market for this stuff, right? What if a person stated that they would do such and such with a goat, as an example, for X bitcoins. People would contribute to a pool set up, than only paid out once a video is release showing said act.

Maybe seeing Bubba with a goat on a boat is not your thing, but how about Debbie with a Doberman on a dock?

FYI Smiley

I've got my plane tickets to BFL - Kansas City today (email booked digital ticket details from the travel agent) arranged by Josh
So my flight to the USA, leaving Sydney on the 17th Feb (my time) - to be back here in Aus again on the 23rd.

... so I going from Oz (Aus) to Kansas (City) ... isn't that back to front? Cheesy

That's quite the trip! How many days do they have you touring the facilities? Anything specific on the agenda?

Agenda: To get their stories straight so when he reports back on the forums it is exactly how BFL wants him to report things lol.

There's a reason why your ignore is so dark ...

You are so far off the mark and you've made a comment based on zero knowledge of the situation ... or is your statement simply to mean that you can easily be bought and just assume others are like you?

reason for my ignore button is pussies who can't take what I have to say so they push the pussy button.

Concerning my comment, i wasn't serious. It was a joke. Lighten up and learn to not take things so seriously.

lol  Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy
Ah well, if it was really a joke, then I offer my apology regarding that comment.
I don't take kindly to being called a 'yes' man.

Kano, for one, I have complete faith your assessment will be unbiased. Don't let us down.

Later, bud.

PS: Pet Jody's chicken for me, too.

PSS: And don't fall for the ol' quarter trick.  Grin

PSSS: And stay away from the baklava. Too much sugar for you.
10926  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BitcoinWireless.com - 280 carriers in 112 countries, Bitcoin with no fees! on: February 09, 2013, 05:49:53 AM
Finally! An easy way for everybody to get bitcoins. Or am I missing something?

seems like this is an additional way to spend them (not receive them). Always a good thing though.

Exactly! Now that I'm able to get them (think SMS), I can now spend them anyway I want to. Therefore, if you are next to me (or not), I can transfer some of my coins to you for product/service or fiat currency. If my normal bill is $100/mo., and through some service I purchase $20 worth of bitcoins, my next billing cycle will reflect a balance due of $120, which I can now pay with bitcoins, thanks to Bitcoin Wireless.

Bottom line, we are so close, if not now, to being able in getting bitcoins into the hands of a noob/newbie within a minute of them asking how do I get some. I fire up the droid, log on to something like text2pay, get coins, which will be billed to my carrier's account, transfer coins from my phone to his. If it takes me more than a minute, it's because I'm between cells and only at 3G.

is there a record of the 10btc?

Not sure, but from this day forward, each time you stick a pen in your mouth, you'll recall the image you've just seen. Likewise, each time you see somebody with a pen in their mouth, you'll recall the image you've just seen. Good news though, I don't think you'll have to worry about pencils, but each time you hold a pen, you'll recall the image you've just seen.
10929  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Belle Isle on: February 09, 2013, 04:13:23 AM
$1 billion for an island..

hmm i can think of better located islands

EG the bahama's

http://www.privateislandsonline.com/islands/bird-cay
http://www.privateislandsonline.com/islands/devils-cay
only $12mill each

Judging by the renderings of the proposed Belle Isle, it looks like he intends to have significant infrastructure there including what are clearly some very large skyscrapers.  It could very well be that the islands you posted do not have the proper soil/foundation to support such large infrastructures.  They're also only 117 to 250 acres in size (a lot of which looks unusuable, Bird Cay has a large body of water within the island) while Belle is 928 acres in size and located next to a major city making import/export a lot easier.

Belle Isle is probably a pipe dream but the guy has a lot of money and is looking to establish among other things, a new currency.  Why re-invent the wheel when he can just use Bitcoin.

Speaking of pipes, how do they plan on handling the shit from 35,000 people a day? Dump it in the river? Not! Build a treatment plant on the island? Don't think so. Pipe it to the nearest city? Bingo! Bonus points if you can name the nearest city. Hint: It starts with a D.

For those who'd like to see more of the same, or a little less (or more) graphic, yet challenging, simply post in this thread the bounty you'll pay, then wait for the results to come in.

For those who'll want to earn bitcoins the hard way, watch this thread and wait for something up your alley and worth your time, pain, and/or pleasure.

Let the fun begin!

Also, and somebody else would have to look into this aspect, Tom Van Riper not only collect money for mining units, but also extra to handle S/H. Is there anyway to get the Postal General involve?

Oh absolutely! If his customers pursue to the fullest extent, it's definitely going to land in mail fraud territory too.

What about Tax evasion? We don't know, can't prove it, but it seems plausible - was BTCFPGA web cart adding the appropriate State sales tax?

Anyone running a retail business and not charging sales tax is likely not filing their income tax return accurately either...

I think sales tax only applies to people who live in NY, since that is where the business is located.

In this case, then we only need one person who resides in the state of New York who ordered from Tom and paid with Bitcoin. If sales tax wasn't included, he's in trouble. If sales tax was included, and he didn't pay the state of New York what he collected, he's in trouble.

Come to think of it, for the type and size of business he was operating, the business should be registered with the state of New York to give him a tax number. Without a tax number, how and why did the CC companies collect, then deposited, funds into his bank account? Would they not have done due diligence prior to setting up an account? I'm not sure what the proper terminology would be, but I can't envision a CC company processing a single payment from a resident of NY for a product sold in NY that doesn't have sales tax applied.

So my flight to the USA, leaving Sydney on the 17th Feb (my time) - to be back here in Aus again on the 23rd.

Great, let's start posting more details like your real name and flight numbers so Echelon can pick it up.

So you have received a free (cattle class?) flight by a guy you never met in real life but know from the Internets.
You are a software developer who made significant contributions to Bitcoin, a crypto currency used by people who want to escape the fiat currency and who are interested in privacy and don't like the government monetary policies. Let's not forget money laundering and illegal gambling. Let's not mention Silk Road and controlled substances legislation (I guess sports people in .au must be big fans of SR)

The company who invites you (Butterfly Labs Inc. - Bitcoin Mining Hardware - ASIC Bitcoin Miner) to come over is paying for your flight and your hotel. Do you already know what hotel you are staying in, immigration will ask. The said company is release a spiffing new piece of crypto hardware they hope to export out of the USA. They want you to write various articles to promote the product by endorsing it's existence and perhaps add some more software support.

Surely this is not a vacation trip but something a bit harder to explain to immigration. I see plenty of red flags going up, starting with the fact they paid for your trip (and they know that before you get onto the plane), you work in the field they are active in and you'll probably travel with the tools of your trade like a laptop.

Don't you need an H-1B?

I got hassled so many times by US immigration it's no longer funny, a lot of times because some of the red flags stated above. (The only time I did not get any trouble was when I flew into Vegas and the only thing I muttered was 'gambling and hookers')

Don't be a jerk to the CBP officers.. "Yes Sir"... "No Sir"... etc

Have fun! ;-)

(feel free to add more search words to this thread to make it an interesting visit)
Well I've been to the US 4 times before ... though the last 2 were in 2000, for a US company I was working for over the net from Aus.
Never been hassled in the US - though of course since 9/11 things have changed.

... and I already have a visa ... that was weird - as soon as it's processed the payment on the US government website it replies that you have your visa.
I do of course have the address where I'm staying and typed that on the visa application.

I'll tell you all about anything interesting getting through customs when I get back Smiley

I've travelled to many countries including china long ago, a lot of europe and england twice, my second US visit covered many states - I'm not one to be concerned about such stuff at all.
The most interesting part may be the fact that I carry drugs on myself (insulin) and the needle tips for the pens ... and have for almost 30 years.

P.S. you can look up my real name easily enough Tongue

And if you change your mind and don't want to visit Kansas to pet a chicken, simply tell the TSA guys that you know (Doctor) Nefario and don't have any cash with you--only 1000 bitcoins on a thumbdrive.
10936  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: New Drama from BitcoinASIC on: February 08, 2013, 03:21:57 PM
From what's been posted, he's user 111 on BTCGuild. He's mining there at 60GH/s right now.
https://www.btcguild.com/halloffame.php
So he's trying to earn those BTC to repay by mining day by day?

Maybe he should have paid down for an Avalon or 10 to speed up the process

Don't doubt it - anyone holding loads of BTC are in good position to order a MiniRig at $30K and hash their pants off.

Interesting! Very interesting! Very, very interesting! What are the chances that he currently has a mining rig(s) on order at either BFL or Avalon? He would have had to supply a mailing address at time of ordering. I'm not advocating that either entity relay said info publicly, but I'm sure there's something they could do when the time comes to aid in an investigation if such were the case.

I've changed my avatar since I may well need someone at BFL to know what I look like before I arrive Tongue
(and also anyone can be sure if a photo or video at BFL is me)

... the blade is 24" (61cm) excluding the handle.
It's not shiny coz it has probably never been cleaned in over 80years - maybe longer.
It weights 1.2kg (2.6 lbs)
Hopefully the odd discolourations on it are only just rust and not blood from long long ago - though since it was used in the Boer Wars I'm not actually sure - there are small nicks in the edge of the blade that would probably represent colliding with bone ... no kidding Tongue

<more humor>

How do really know that the new avatar isn't shopped? I think an unbiased individual should be taking the video of you at the BFL facility so we would know with a higher degree of certainty that the videos are not shopped as well. I suggest BFL fly in a trusted member from Romania to handle this task.

10939  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: New Drama from BitcoinASIC on: February 08, 2013, 07:12:51 AM
Two more thoughts.

What are the chances that Tom's still mining, and if he is, is he doing such via a pool. And if that's the case, can his IP be traced?

Also, and somebody else would have to look into this aspect, Tom Van Riper not only collect money for mining units, but also extra to handle S/H. Is there anyway to get the Postal General involve?

I can't phantom a hungry family of six on the lamb with a Bitcoin mining rig in tow.
