10961  Other / Off-topic / Re: How to make a lot money online? on: August 16, 2014, 01:02:43 PM
In my experience, the best way to make a lot money online is to learn some special skills like programming and offer your service as freelancer. If you are very good i your job you can earn good money and be your own boss and work for any client in the world.
Investments schemes, FOREX, MLM and similar offers are mostly scam and I would not advice it.

10962  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Is US Citizenship is a Curse or a Blessing? on: August 16, 2014, 12:50:20 PM
It just came upon me that US Citizenship is more a curse not a Blessing.
Cons:
US has highest healthcare costs in the 1st world
US has highest gini coefficient in the 1st world
US has worst privacy laws in the 1st world
US spends 687.3 billion on military spending, which doesn't create capital or useless capital(war devices)
Pros:
No Value Added Tax
Significantly lower Income tax
California (although I've heard Chile is a great alternative)

Anything else to rant about? Add more!

You may be right to criticize USA situation because healthcare is expensive, bad privacy lows etc. but please understand that in overall quality of life (salary, quality of education, available jobs, security, quality of health care etc.) USA in one of the best countries in the world.,
If you want to study or find good paying job, or start business, you will go to USA, not Africa or some other third world country.
what do you think, why so many people from Mexico so desperately trying to enter USA, even with a risk of life?
From their viewpoint USA is golden opportunity, almost heaven on the earth.
Sure, many things can improve in USA, like in any other country, but for the most people in the world US Citizenship will be great blessing, not punishment Smiley

The professor of a university challenged his students with this question. "Did God create everything that exists?" A student answered bravely, "Yes, he did".

The professor then asked, "If God created everything, then he created evil. Since evil exists (as noticed by our own actions), so God is evil. The student couldn't respond to that statement causing the professor to conclude that he had "proved" that "belief in God" was a fairy tale, and therefore worthless.

Another student raised his hand and asked the professor, "May I pose a question? " "Of course" answered the professor.

The young student stood up and asked : "Professor does Cold exists?"

The professor answered, "What kind of question is that? ...Of course the cold exists... haven't you ever been cold?"

The young student answered, "In fact sir, Cold does not exist. According to the laws of Physics, what we consider cold, in fact is the absence of heat. Anything is able to be studied as long as it transmits energy (heat). Absolute Zero is the total absence of heat, but cold does not exist. What we have done is create a term to describe how we feel if we don't have body heat or we are not hot."

"And, does Dark exist?", he continued. The professor answered "Of course". This time the student responded, "Again you're wrong, Sir. Darkness does not exist either. Darkness is in fact simply the absence of light. Light can be studied, darkness can not. Darkness cannot be broken down. A simple ray of light tears the darkness and illuminates the surface where the light beam finishes. Dark is a term that we humans have created to describe what happens when there's lack of light."

Finally, the student asked the professor, "Sir, does evil exist?" The professor replied, "Of course it exists, as I mentioned at the beginning, we see violations, crimes and violence anywhere in the world, and those things are evil."

The student responded, "Sir, Evil does not exist. Just as in the previous cases, Evil is a term which man has created to describe the result of the absence of God's presence in the hearts of man."

After this, the professor bowed down his head, and didn't answer back.

The young man's name was ALBERT EINSTEIN.

Thanks for this.
I heard about this story before but couldn't find it.
So, EINSTEIN was real genius, great scientist but still he believed in God.
Very interesting.

Sorry NSA, privacy is dead  Grin

Snowden has not revealed anything, he send the documents to American journalists working for American companies. If anyone went to far, it's the journalists.
Snowden is doing the right job, he is providing the world info we previously did not know and where not supposed to know, I like the guy!

Yes, he did the right thing.
So, before we could just speculate but now we know exactly how they are spying on us, thanks to Snowden.
But, I'm afraid that everything will remain the same.
They will find other way and continue spying everybody like ''Big brother''.

10966  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Good news everyone! on: August 15, 2014, 03:40:05 PM
This is good for bitcoins because it means that the adoption is spreading among all the major and minor companies, the future is really bright Smiley

Yes, future is bright but still is long way to go.
Bitcoin will not become global currency overnight.
A lot hard work and promotion is needed...

Without help of family and the state I be on the streets.

My school system failed me or my brain just is the way it is and the school system couldn't help me at all.

sad. very depressing.

People that have smarts take it for granted and it pisses me off.

Just because you can't do math very well doesn't make you stupid it means that you have a weak point in maths...

It's true.
It's better be stupid in math but have health, happy family and good job than be smart but be sick, be divorced and jobless.
10968  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Putin did it! on: August 15, 2014, 02:52:47 PM
Europe and USA is not the world. There are plenty of friendly nations that can provide the gap. Like Brazil, Argentina, South American Countries, Iran, India, China, South Africa and many other that is still friendly to Russia.

That is why the BRICS axis is so important. With the recent leadership change in India, this axis is going to be even more important. Russia is in good terms with all the other nations in BRICS (Brazil, India, China, and South Africa).

Yes, Putin have his own (not very popular in western world) policy, and trying to find alias for it in other parts of the World.
Still, Russian ties with BRICS countries are mostly economical, not political.
This countries have very different politic agenda, so it's hard to excerpt they make some kind of political organisation or group, but in some areas (trade, economy etc.) they will cooperate.
10969  Other / Off-topic / Re: Do girls use Bitcoin ? on: August 15, 2014, 02:45:06 PM
You should go to some bitcoin meet-ups and seminars. They are setting up many of those in different area and cities.
Then you can sure see how many of em use bitcoin in real life. Personally i have seen and know many women who are actively into
bitcoin community including my wife. SO, yeah.

It's amazing that this thread have so many pages.
I'm sure that many women use Bitcoin to, but obviously are to busy to write here and confirm logic fact that yes, women also use Bitcoin.

10971  Other / Off-topic / Re: Scientific proof that God exists? on: August 15, 2014, 12:51:54 PM
The human race will be the gods in...1000 years is a good estimate, by then this galaxy will be ours. Don't you want to be a god yourself rather than believe in such an entity?

In my opinion both is possible.
In religion some people believe that we are one with God, and that God is in us, his life energy, love etc.
So, I'm also God, and part of His universal prime energy which moves the world.
Of course, this is just one possible understanding about the creation of universe, which I personally like because it makes are all equal with God, as co-creators of the universe.
10972  Other / Politics & Society / Re: We do not have a gun culture problem, we have a culture problem. on: August 15, 2014, 12:43:01 PM
Indeed.

In term of gun ownership, Switzerland has a higher percentage of citizen owning gun than American. Yet you don't hear people getting killed on the street as often as American.

Yes, true.
People in USA feel insecure, and understand that they should protect themselves, their families etc.
In Europe, people don't keep guns because they want to protect themselves or feel insecurity (at least most of them).
People like guns because of hunting, or they inherited it from parents or, like in Switzerland, it's mandatory for everybody who was in Swiss army.

10973  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Good news for the Bitcoin on: August 15, 2014, 12:35:11 PM
It's great that companies are in talks to be honest as this is what bitcoin needs however we need more action and less talking, all the companies seem to be doing is going into discussions but we never really see any outcomes from these discussions.
Discussion is good.  No company is going to make a sudden decision to accept Bitcoin.  Imagine proposing to accept Bitcoin at board meeting with aprox 10 other directors.  It wouldn't be surprising if at least 2 other directors think it is a ponzie scheme, not real money or criminal money.  It takes time to win people over.

Yes, you are right.
In fact, most of this directory are in old age, very conservative and don't like and don't accept new and revolutionary changes easily.
Facebook, Microsoft and Google didn't start old people, but young, fresh people with new, revolutionary ideas.
When first a few ''big'' companies accept Bitcoin, others will follow as well.
10974  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Satoshi was assassinated by The Bitcoin Foundation? New evidence coming in on: August 15, 2014, 11:43:33 AM
Satoshi is an idea, and ideas don't die, even if the people that had them die.

But I doubt Satoshi is dead, because he appeared months ago to say he is not someone else I can't remember.

Yes, you are right!
You can kill the man but can't kill idea.
BTW, I also doubt that Satoshi is single man and that he did everything alone.
We are probably talking about group of people or cooperation behind bitcoin, so this is another reason we don't need to worry.
After Satoshi we will also have Satoshi Smiley

10976  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Bitcoin, The Ideal Method Of Funding Terrorism? on: August 15, 2014, 11:29:18 AM
Again with the terrorists...

It's not the terrorists that i'm concerned of , It more about how bitcoin can be used by people in the government to take bribes an good luck proving and solving the money route.

Agree with this.
Government have many more ways to abuse Bitcoin for their own purpose, than terrorists.
10977  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin can be use by future Mars Inhabitants? on: August 15, 2014, 11:24:55 AM
You guys forget that when Mars gets colonized Bitcoin and all it's technology is prehistoric.

I guess it's possible but really I think it's unlikely.

Consider that SpaceX was created for the sole purpose of reaching mars so that Elon Musk could be buried there. Reaching mars is the first step in colonizing it, and if any company would ever do something like that - it would certainly be SpaceX.  Along with that, it would be fairly quick since they are working at a rapid pace towards space domination.

However, even if it takes 200 years to reach space - we will just more likely be using Bitcoin as our main currency by that point.  USD has been used for close to 200 years now, as well as other world currencies, so I think it's still possible and even likely we would be using Bitcoin.

It may even be a vastly improved version of bitcoin, but since Bitcoin is a software and not a physical item, it can become something entirely different but we can still call it Bitcoin, and it will still be Bitcoin.

#ToTheMars!

Very good points.
World around us changing so quickly that it's also possible that in 100 years Bitcoin will be outdated, ancient history, replaced with something else, modern and newest technology.
We may even modify Internet and have something complete different in 100 years, who know?
10978  Other / Off-topic / Re: Scientific proof that God exists? on: August 15, 2014, 11:17:38 AM
OK guys you really made your points very well.
Thank you.
Still, I tend to agree with this blog author that either there is not much proofs for Darwin's theory as well.
It seems that Darwin's theory is the most logic but still the are some ''holes'' and unproven facts in this theory, isn't it?

There are still many things to learn, of course.

You can check here some of the current research topics in evolutionary biology: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Evolutionary_biology#Current_research_topics

I strongly recommend reading misconceptions about evolution so you don't get easily fooled by creationists, check here: http://evolution.berkeley.edu/evolibrary/misconceptions_teacherfaq.php

Thank you for this very interesting additional resources about this topic.
Still, I don't think that science have all the answers and can explain everything.
How the universe started?
Or life?
Until now we have many theories but no so much proven facts about this mysteries.
I still believe that we are not just simple flash but also spirit and that some ultimate spirit exist to, but of course, I also can't prove it, but also science can't prove their points.
so, as I see it, debate continue Smiley
10979  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Medvedev's twitter account has been hacked on: August 15, 2014, 11:01:49 AM
It is not that difficult to hack a twitter account. But I am surprised that it went unnoticed for quite some time. The tweet was removed after a considerable delay. What happened?
I think it was not hacked, but an attempt by the gov to damage the reputation. After all, they can login to any twitter account

What government?
USA?
If so, this really was smart move.
I think Russians will be afraid now to use social networks for some time Smiley
