Just want to give you a real fact here, we can't say that an exchange is safe even it is licensed. Look at your view on BTC-e, a trusted exchanges but now turned into shitty one.
To answer the topic title, I suggest using Poloniex. As usual even in other exchanges, no need to do verification to start trading but you will have a withdrawal limit. The volume here is pretty nice compate to other exchanges and never did a problem using this exchange until now.
BTC-e was anonymous and flouted plenty of regulations. Its demise was only a matter of time. Having said that it may well come back from the dead. The American government is responsible for its shittiness in case you hadn't noticed. You're now suggesting Poloniex? A place that takes several months to answer one support ticket and has regular outages and freezes? With quasi anonymous staff and not much in the way of regulation? That's a crap suggestion. Bitstamp does LTC now as well. They're officially legit, albeit extremely uptight.

Russian state-sponsored mining sounds like a good reason for the US government to freak out. Suddenly our secretive internet money becomes "secretive internet money... controlled by the Russians". LOL Sure it doesn't matter if they actually control it, it just sounds good on paper. Bitrubles anyone? There's a fair few nuclear powered subs and carriers nearing the end of their service life. All the US of A has to do is stuff them with miners. How cool would that be?

Well, it's a friendly neighbourhood
I knew a guy who was murdered with a pool cue there. Anyway, if I missed out on anyone if you all take a look outside now you'll see a brand new Cadillac waiting for each and every one of you.

The moment bitmixer said it will close the service bitmixor was registered and turned out to be a scam. Be careful before using that website.
If it really is BTC-e I think it's safe to assume they won't be opening up for trading until everyone pulls out what they have. I wonder how complete their record keeping is though and a few people here have mentioned they were asking for impossible levels of verification.

Ha ha, I still have a mortgage. There is no way I am going to touch my coins yet. I don't believe 3400 is anywhere near where we are heading in the future.
You definitely forgot to clear my mortgage gentlemand. Maybe I was busy that day and wasn't on here.
Damn. The bank transfer to your mortgage company must've been phished. But how you got a mortgage on this is beyond me anyway.

There may be similar qualities, but there are not similar quantities. The comparison of price, as people have been doing it, is completely arbitrary.
He's moaning about properties, not quantities. There are many properties that are similar, whereas a Google stock has somewhere around zero.

Especially as they are struggling to put deposits down on their 1st house and also have been denied by the bank for loans to do renovation work due to deciding to be up to their eye balls in debt paying finance for fancy cars.
It's hard not to bring it up.
You're not paying their debts off? What kind of friend are you? Good lord. I've paid off every single mortgage on here now.

By which you mean anything which competes with BITMAIN, rather than things that "remove China".
Nope. There are plenty of fine people mining there, but they're all under the boot of the Chinese authorities. That much mining possibly controllable by one regime is potentially harmful.

Utterly meaningless but fun all the same. I've read of people on here who bought an ounce for 50-60 BTC. I'd be so narked at that I'd melt it and pour it down the toilet. I might buy an ounce for 0.1, but more likely I'll wait for 0.05. It's completely arbitrary. Why not compare btc to google stock while they're at it?
It's not completely arbitrary. There are many similar qualities and functions between the two, apart from Bitcoin being better at most of them and adding some new ones too.

Anything that removes China is a good thing. I didn't know Russian power was that cheap, however some Chinese power is borderline free as they mine next to plants with capacity going free.

If a large portion of the miners migrate to this new fork will core tweak the software so that it can deal with the loss of hashpower and tweak the difficulty faster, a bit like bcash did?
If all the people signalling 2x stick to the 2MB bit, there won't be anything for Core to tweak as it'll be a stone dead chain. I assume a BIP 91 esque face saving offering will come from somewhere or they might well end up on the wrong side of history. Let's see.

I wonder who's doing the payment processing. Most use Shapeshift but they don't deal with XEM.

I vote for down in the short/medium term. If it had occurred without all this forktastic rubbish then it might be a different matter, but it could be a rocky ride between now and November.

I see so I need to split myself by importing the private key into a Bitflop wallet. Are there any safe desktop versions that you know of which do not require a download of the full node? Or even a web wallet version?
I have heard Coinomi for the android is safe, any ideas?
Thanks in advance
I used coinomi for bitcoin cash. I assume it's fine but I don't really care.

BCC has improvements on BTC and who knows, might utilize smart contracts in the future while BTC is left behind.
Erm, do you know what Segwit entails? The idea is that it fosters a whole new level of possibilities, many of which haven't even been thought up yet.

Has anyone here tried sending a paper/brain wallet (with no BTC but with BCC/BCH) directly to an exchange such as Kraken/Bittrex and it credits you the BCC/BCH you were entitled to or do I have to import into a BCC/BCH wallet first, then transfer to exchange?
Splitting is now your problem, not theirs. They only split they'll do is the private keys they controlled at the moment of the fork.

Blimey that's a blast from the past. I've no memory of what attracted me to it. I wonder how many people on that thread were either exterminated or blew it long before the present day. How far it's come. What was going to be a NXT clone now looks poised to spurt into the cosmos.

Nutrition and a general knowledge of DONT SMOKE DONT DRINK WHEN PREGNANT probably helps, sure. But part of the answer is probably also grade inflation. Schools have to deal out grades to students who don't deserve it or they lose funding and people get fired, and so on. All the usual socialist bullshit.
Have IQ test themselves gotten easier? Anyway, I think you're probably on to something with nutrition. That's a biggie. I have my planet-sized brain despite being exclusively fed undercooked chicken kiev and microwaved roast dinners throughout my formative years. These days I take it seriously and I get through three of these a day. Straight out the can.
