10981  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Trading vs Gambling on: August 12, 2017, 03:18:15 AM
Its always important to remember the fact of gambling its only for diversion and the trading its to make profit. There is some peoples wich lives with gambling but they are the exception.

I beg to disagree, people bet to make profit and not as diversion. Both of them are in the business of making money, whether its gambling or trading. There are also at risk. So you have to choose which is more adaptable to you. I would choose trading because the returns for it is very good and the risk can be mitigated. Unlike in gambling that once you bet, consider it a lost already. While in trading, if you think that the market will not move or probably go down then you will not risk to trade today but rather wait for several days before making any moved that will give you a good yields. Timing is important but in gambling you need to be extremely very lucky just to won a little.
10982  Economy / Speculation / Re: [BREAKING NEWS]: New Bitcoin ATH on: August 12, 2017, 02:39:25 AM
Finally we got there ! I would not have believed it would be possible so fast. Finally maybe the Bitcoin Cash fork was a good thing to eject a bunch of idiots and start the race to space.
BCC up 24% too, so its following big brother.
I still haven't claimed mine yet.  Think I'll just watch it for a while,  see what it does.  My seed phrase isn't going anywhere.

Almost crapped my drawers earlier when we hit $3750!  Then we sank back down, but that's to be expected--if we rise too fast, those gains won't hold.  Still, it is indeed very cool to see the price this high.

Was also very happy seeing the price today as I was out the whole day yesterday. I still haven't claim my BCC yet but bitcoin is really pulling ahead with the new ATH again. Never crossed my mind that we are going to hit it sooner than expected. Segwit is about 1 week away if I'm not mistaken. Once it is activated the price could go to $4000. I hope it would hold though, so that the future growth could be sustain as well. But is still nice if there are minor correction along the way, its part of the nature on how bitcoin ecosystem works.
10983  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: keep calm and buy the dips... on: August 12, 2017, 01:57:39 AM
I dont know why I am smiling now.
But I really love the way you summarize it. Now newbies will have a clue to what they will do and that is thanks to you. A good tip.
But now it is at $3391 at preev so maybe I will wait for that $3100 price before I will buy them.
The dollars are waiting at the other line.  Grin
The thing is are they need to wait for the dip of the price before buying it? As the current price is being rising the value and I can feel it will continue to rise indeed. It is hard for the newbie being mandated by the emotions as to when at what time they can buy. But gladly a tip that could help to a newbie or anyone, the good thing to do is buy at what you can afford to risks and willing to earn in the future.

This thread was started with there is a dip. If there are newbies reading and thinking to buy bitcoin, they should have make their moved already otherwise if they are waiting for another correction, it will not be realized today as the price is going strong. If they bought a little then good, because you are on the road of profiting in bitcoin already. If you again, waited then you have already missed it because the price soar again at $3700 and might touch $4000 in he next weeks or so because of Segwit activation.
10984  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What would you do? on: August 12, 2017, 12:43:16 AM
Of course if I got small balance after getting a high bankroll, I will just bet it all and go 50/50 chance. Actually I did that a few days ago. I already lost .01 and there were few dust bitcoins left so I just decided to go all in but unfortunately, I did have a good run with 50/50 and just lost it all. I'm thinking if I can just put it along .005 then I will stop and go back to sleep. Alas luck is not on my side that day, decided not to deposit anymore and just slept the lost. Will probably not play again, I just want to test this gambling website to test my luck.
10985  Economy / Speculation / Re: $3500 on: August 11, 2017, 11:56:23 PM
It is just a few dollars below 3500. We do not have to rush it, it will reach 3500 and past over it within the next few weeks. The price will continue to rise  until segwit is activated.
It just broke through the $3700 mark. I too see current increase being driven by the soon to be SegWit activation.

If we look at how things went with the lock-in, where the price increased in advance of the actual happening, it's safe to say that the same will happen with the activation as well. As it stands right now, it's just a formality.

The only question will be how far will the price go up before activation kicks in. My personal guess is somewhere around the $4000 mark (give or take $250), but I wouldn't be surprised to see a $5000 peak.

I initially thought that the Segwit activation is already price in. But I was wrong (again). Bitcoin is really unpredictable. Yeah we will probably touch $4000 when Segwit was officially activated at Aug 22. It looks like another set of investors has put cash again in the ecosystem pushing to this level. Thinking that this is a bubble, but so much hype and speculation around Segwit that I don't think it will burst by will continue to exponentially rise in the coming week. Braced again for another good ride for this year.

10990  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC upto 5000$!! on: August 09, 2017, 11:13:51 AM
Five days ago, on August 3, bitcoin began jump hard until rise to $280. After this point, history was made on August 5 as bitcoin’s price continued to rise higher and higher. Bitcoin’s value surpassed the $3K zone to an all-time high of $3340 across global exchanges. And today the price reach $3400, so it's possible to continue rise to $5000 in this year.
If you look at the statistics At what rates Bitcoin has reached its price of $ 3,400, then you can see that for the year Bitcoin has risen by 3000 dollars, and to be precise it is 2 600. Thus, we can conclude that if we want to see 5000 dollars, then For this you need not so much time.

Just don't get too excited to reach $5000. There are still a lot of room before touching it. I guess we need to overcome $3500 first. Right now the price has dip to $3300 to a high as $3450 today. So resistance has not started and we don't know if we can hold the $3300 price. The possibility to reach $5000 is there. But we have to wait for maybe a couple of months or before the end of the year But I believed that we can get it. Just need a little patience on our side and not too jumpy or excited early.
10991  Other / Archival / Re: Have you ever won a Jackpot? on: August 09, 2017, 10:22:51 AM
The biggest jackpot I won in a land based casino is 1.06++BTC in today's price. I was betting max on a slot machine. Previous to that, I won 0.29BTC then I went back the next day. Funny thing, my bankroll was almost emptied by that time, I only had .025BTC left in my wallet. But the gambler I am, went all in and finally won the jackpot and immediately went home with the money. Just my luck I think. Imagine my lost, if I didn't hit that slot machine jackpot that night. I could have gone home very frustrated and should be thinking of not going back to the casino because I already won 0.29BTC already. Too greedy. LOL.

Edit: Never won a jackpot in a online casino though.
10992  Economy / Speculation / Re: Hold until its $10,000 on: August 09, 2017, 10:02:18 AM
I am holding it tight since it was 800$ Cheesy .Now it crosses 3000$ . It is getting bigger and bigger. $10,000 is huge, maybe achievable though.

Wow, good for you mate. I think you are now getting closer to be a rich guy now  Cheesy. Well Segwit just lock-in and I think there will be another run on the market. Still enough bulls out there who are willing to test the bitcoin ecosystem and see where it will drove them. Maybe at the end of the year $10000 is achievable and even more. But right now, we need to past the $4000 barrier and test if you can get it through. It won't be easy I think, but if there are enough investors willing to throw their cash into the ecosystem, then everything is up in the open. $10000 could easily touch by then. Just continue to hold and not sell it until we get to $10000.
10993  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2017-08-08] Bitcoin breaks through $3,500 to hit fresh record high, now up 264% on: August 09, 2017, 09:37:58 AM
With Segwit lock-in, only way for bitcoin is really soar in the next coming days. It might get to $4000 is there are enough bulls to push the price into this barrier. No one has actually thought that bitcoin can reached $3500 just days after the dreaded Aug 1 split. Its amazing how it can recover from so much speculation before. Saying that bitcoin could die after the split and other doubts and uncertainty. And now bitcoin once again soaring so the FUD has died down a bit. I don't know if there are other markets that has a 264% increase year to year besides bitcoin. The price could go to the moon in the next coming months so the increase could go up to 300%.
10994  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: ETH? Is it time to invest? on: August 09, 2017, 09:17:01 AM
I see people are very optimistic in here. Yeah, why not actually but BTC is still solid and ETH is more like gambling imho. It is likely to rise, but it still might go downwards. BTC probably won't ever see below $2k from now on and it is more likely to skyrocket in a few years rather than failing. Might ETH take it's place? Unlikely, but we may see them rise together instead. Which in that case, ETH would bring higher profit with it's current price. But will it? Smiley

ETH is already soaring right now, breaking the $300 price for the first time after setting ATH a couple of months back. Well if you have bought it at around ~$190 then for sure you are taking profits by now. But I agree that its like more of a gambling for ETH because there are no ongoing hype on this coins and it looks like its just following the price path of bitcoin. (of course their is a correlation between them). But what I want to see is that ETH making its own path, and I don't know if this price of it can be sustained in the long run.
10995  Other / Meta / Re: Forum ranks/positions/badges (What do those shiny coins under my name mean?) on: August 09, 2017, 08:51:28 AM
I think it's a bit frustrating. I understand that admins want to avoid scams and spam. But the risk is that people write only to gain points

How can this be so frustrating? We all went to this but I didn't feel disappointed. Actually I feel excited whenever I see my activity points increase by 14 every 2 weeks. And I think you don't get it. You don't get technical points by writing. You can even post once every day for two weeks and you can still get the maximum 14 point activity. Where are the risk then? Maybe the risk you are talking about it spamming the thread with countless posts that don't add anything to the discussion. And if you are unlucky, someone will report you the mods and your account ban. Posting has nothing to do with your activity points. And you need a lot of patience to get your rank upgraded. Remember 14 activity points every 2 weeks.
10996  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: regret by not believing in BITCOIN? on: August 09, 2017, 08:31:34 AM
I do. I used to raise my brows whenever i hear my cousin talk about it. He ecouraged me to try but i said maybe it is just  one of the waves of the season so i was skeptical too. I thought it will soon die down and just be a history. But now he must be laughing at me. The Saying is really true that "those that are first will be last and those that are last will be first. I admit i was not wise.

I guess it is not late for you to go and buy bitcoins, but the price is to steep right now. Well, you can't blamed anybody but yourself. And just like I said you can get it now and just hold on it for long time and maybe you can still enjoy the benefits of having bitcoin. And maybe you are not mature back then that is why you didn't go into bitcoin. And I think you are not the first one who have this experienced and regretting it now.

My first BTC transactions are from 2012, but only very recently have I really gotten into investing in BTC and other cryptocurrencies. But the thing is that even now it's not too late to make it big, although I reckon that same type of exponential growth will not be seen very easily.

Currently I'm investing about $200 a month and diversifying it, so hopefully some of the coins I have will rocket up to $XXX so that I could just retire somewhere before I'm 40.

That's the what I'm talking about. It's not too late really to invest into bitcoin. Because the chances of getting a huge profit is very big. If you are accumulating $200 a month, that's gonna be huge in the next months or so. And when the price goes to the moon, you will enjoy the benefit of what you are currently doing. Maybe x5 to x10 returns of your investment or even more. Goodluck on your endeavor and hope that you have the patience to hold into it for long term.

10998  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin reached 3.2K!! on: August 08, 2017, 12:51:44 AM
Now the price of bitcoin is 3353$.Many said reaching 3000$ is a peak .It will be reached at the end of the year. Now it's crossed 100$ + then the expected one.I.e 3200$.We are hoping for bitcoin to reach 5000$.If this achieved means, the profit will be high
Profit from holding bitcoin is already high, it all depends on when you joined the hype train. All price expectation is based on pure speculation.
We have nothing like a certain price bitcoin needs to reach in x amount of time. We all are hoping for growth and we have it.
Don't wait forever for BTC to gain more and more value - if you think profit is good enough for you, sell some BTC.

We all know that it is driven by pure speculation. So if we think that bitcoin will still rise then no need to sell it today. Segwit is just a few days around and the hype around it says that the price could go higher. So for me, I still wait and hold for more time before making a decision to dump it. I have a goal of holding my bitcoin, so I will not sell it even if the price goes $4000-$5000, unless there is some emergency on my end. Will hold it till I realized my goal of 1 full BTC in my wallet.
10999  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The reason that keeps me from investing in bitcoin on: August 07, 2017, 11:46:02 PM
I saw a post saying: yeah burger king is willing to accept bitcoin in russia. Hopefully mcdonald will follow ! But why would someone pay 3$ fee therefore a third of his burger king menu in fee?

Will segwit may lower the fees?

If you have money, do not hesitate to invest on bitcoin, consider it as your long term investment as bitcoin value will always increases as time goes on, as has been proven so far.
Bitcoin created to be an alternative currency, but the problem is bitcoin can't afford too many transactions every second, so the fees increase in order to process transaction faster. yes, who wants to buy $2 fee for $5 burger? No one. That's why we've been waiting for segwit be activated and be solved those problems. I think SegWit can do that, but time will tell us the truth whether is it really works or just temporary solution?

I think if you are looking to invest for long term, Bitcoin is the best alternative as compare to Stocks or Mutual Funds. Why? Because overall, bitcoin's performance is much better as compare to both, specially this year alone. Do down 5-10 years from now, probably if you invest now, your profit could be x5 or even x10 of your initial capital. So its a good to add your your current investment portfolio.

The reason that keeps me on investing into bitcoin isee because it is the strange thing that I have but although it is strange it do provide income to help my mom in our daily expenses. Also I can hold it for a long period of time wherein I can gain because bitcoin's price is keep on rising from time to time.

Looks like you are not investing but looking at bitcoin as means to provide you and your mom income. But if you could it then it can really benefit you longer time. Yes, the price fluctuation of bitcoin is on our side now because its keeps rising day in day out. We can see profit that way.
