ETH (and, soon, EOS/TELOS) is a good 'token factory' platform and for that, it may have a continued reason to exist. The idea of executing computer code in a decentralised manner wont go away. I think not all corners of the playing field have been found yet. I doubt we have seen the last of it, although the ICO rage was spectacular including it's demise (for now).
For anonymous projects, the ICO vehicle will remain to hold its application value (continuing to 'break the rules' in the meantime) as well as for applications that require a token for their operation on a generally recognized and 'stable' platform.
As such, I am not in the Hate CampTM when it comes to crypto projects beside Bitcoin.

I am not sure what you exactly mean. Yes, you can mine in a browser but mining is not the really attractive part of this coin. The USP of Nimiq is the fact that it is entirely web based. No need to install anything; you can access the Nimiq blockchain and do transactions completely from your browser. Fast syncing and nice UI really enhance the user experience. Nimig: making payments easy. |

There is an organised attack going on with multiple ‘new’ users flooding the community channels with negative non-constructive posts. I wonder how long they will waste their time. On the other hand; them being busy here will keep other projects save from the vitriol |

I got so many on ignore in this thread, that every reaction on this page (but me) shows 'ignored'  'cause they are always the same 5/6 acounts, but they're spamming non-stop. Took the serious initially. Wanted to check in on their claim - especially that one guy claiming to off himself. Then started to see the partners of this newbie accounts and couldn't be bothered which side of the story was true or false. Medium and Steemit is just a click away and so is scam accusations. Plenty of mods and investigative type community members here too to get the word out to the public and relevant authorities. Don't get the flooding Yes, it's a sad story. Can YOU create a fucking branch bank right now? NO. No need to swear. You need massive capital, lawyers, govt connections, and everything else. All of the same rules will apply to Lightning nodes, just NOT DAY ONE. Stop playing dumb. Those regulations and red tape (AML/KYC) will lock out any wildcat nodes and the only ones will be run by people like Bank of America and Goldman Sachs.
Anything that has an easily identifiable physical or digital surface attack vector will be enveloped by the current system. Claiming you're going to run a wildcat Lightning node is like claiming you're going to be some type freelance illegal porn distributor and the FBI is not going to kick in your door. If you're capable of putting 1+1 together, shilling for Lightning is like shilling directly for Goldman Sachs.
You seem to imply that government can (and will) shutdown LN nodes unless they have been vetted and are licensed. Wouldnt the same be true for Bitcoin nodes? In other words: are you arguing that the government can feasibly block Bitcoin and LN networks ? |
