I'd vote BetKing for best site of 2016 Smiley

Unlikely for 2017 though
1102  Economy / Gambling / Re: BetKing.io - 20% Rakeback Christmas Bonus - Most trusted Bitcoin Dice site on: January 02, 2017, 06:54:23 PM
Too bad you are closing this site.

Just a quick question: I just placed a withdrawal for roughly 2.55 btc. Now there is no history or whatsoever that I placed this withdrawal, even though the funds are already taken from my account. (I have not received the btc yet, address 17MmSZaU5UJgQHxUZcWBNAXpgh5DEYePok).

Can I be assured that I will receive my coins?

Yeah, sent. Hot wallet was a bit low after all the withdrawals.

I'm only checking emails/hot wallet 1-2 times a day now so people should allow up to 24 hours for a reply.

Thanks

No problem, received the coins already, thanks!

Maybe it's an idea to add a status page for current withdrawals?

Only 17 people still have more than 0.1 on there so not really a need I don't think.
1103  Economy / Gambling / Re: BetKing.io - 20% Rakeback Christmas Bonus - Most trusted Bitcoin Dice site on: January 02, 2017, 06:50:35 PM
It's a shame to lose one of the most trusted Bitcoin dice sites, but I fully understand why you would want a break from it.

Thanks for running the site honestly and not losing or stealing everyone's money. Smiley

Thanks Wink

Any reason you wouldn't sell the site like you originally planned to?

My guess is that it has something to do with the recent security breach

Nothing to do with the security breach. That was just a little thing that is part of the job.

I would sell. I posted on he page for sales enquiries email.

Though I would sell for cheaper than the total ICO valuation I'm not going to sell real cheap just because it's closed.
I'm not desperate for money Wink

Offers would still need to be 4 figure Bitcoin or 7 figure £.

There's no point arguing here or discussing what you personally thing it is worth, that's my price and it won't be lowered.
BetKing is still worth a lot to me because if all else fails I can re-open BetKing in a year and pick up where I left off.

Happy new year.

1106  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] BetKing.io ICO - Bitcoin Gambling website - 581.4 BTC raised so far on: December 31, 2016, 08:00:48 PM
I think if you did another ICO in the new year with a bit of warning you would easily get the 2k BTC you are after.

However,
If your position is (which I think) - you want a break and to try something new that's understandable.

Feel free to give me a heads up on the next thing you do, you seem like a stand up guy and it'd be a pleasure to invest/get more involved.

Thanks!

I think you are right. The ICO was rushed, no warning and took 1-2 weeks to really get people understanding what was going on.
Plus it was bad timing with it being the end of the year and Bitcoin increased 25-30% during it.
If I had have stated the amount in £ or $ instead of Bitcoin I probably would have had more success.

It's nothing to do with the hack at all. Wink
1108  Economy / Gambling / Re: BetKing.io - 20% Rakeback Christmas Bonus - Most trusted Bitcoin Dice site on: December 30, 2016, 10:11:00 PM
Thanks for all the support guys.

I think Bitcoin gambling has matured and improved a lot since BetKing started and players have a much safer environment to play.

BetKing, PrimeDice and BitDice weeded out all the scam sites after Just-Dice closed.

We set the bar high for trust. Well for the sites that were popping up, obviously dooglus is the most trusted on here Smiley

So the next sites like Better Bets, SafeDice and Crypto games and now new sites like Bitsler, Bitvest, KingDice and YoloDice developed high quality products to attract players instead of just another scam site looking to build a bankroll through crowdfunds to run off with Smiley

I've had my differences and silly arguments with a few site owners in public  on this forum (dooglus and Alex mostly but it's competition right? Smiley ) but I know better than most how hard the work site owners put in is and how stressful it is.

So keep it up. Don't scam (you make more in long run) and keep making your sites brilliant for the players.

I don't wanna have to re-open BetKing in 6 months Wink

All the best

Sucks to hear that you will be closing. Any chance I could know the reason you have decided to close?

It's been almost 4 years I've worked on BetKing.
I've done it mostly by myself except from some help here and there but the majority of the time it has been me that deals with development, marketing, promo, support, security, looking after others funds, dealing with abuse Wink etc

Almost every other dice site has more than one member of staff, at least some support staff.

I wanted to make BetKing the #1 Bitcoin gambling site for dice, casino, sports and poker.
It's going to take far too much time on my own to get there Smiley (I had a lot of devs let me down over the past 2 years too slowing things down a lot)

The reason I tried to sell shares during the ICO was to raise funds to hire the right people to actually try to make this happen.
But we failed to raise the funds needed. Mostly due to bad timing with it being the end of year and Bitcoin price rising fast and a not so well thought out pitch Smiley

I also gave away between 3-400 Bitcoin in promos, prizes etc and made what I feel is the best dice site that is easiest to use over the past 2 years.

But apparently according to the stats on some sites not everyone agrees Wink

BetKing is very profitable and I have made good money off of it but I'm not the type of person to settle for being #2 at something.
It's a very unhealthy obsession that has started effecting my daily life off of BetKing which isn't good Smiley.
I could leave it open and neglect it and still make a very good living but I wouldn't be happy with that.

So I've decided to close instead.

I've not decided what I will do instead but I know I'll be taking a long break after everyone is cashed out.

Thanks for everyone who gave support over the years.

gl

Just going to refund the ICO investors now.

ICO is cancelled now. Thanks for all who showed interest.

Balances will be updated in the next few hours.

Did something happen?

A lot of people decided to take refund so there's not enough raised.

FYI, my balance on the site shows my BTC, but when i go to withdraw it says Balance: 0

Can you try refresh or log out then back in? Had reports it was an issue if trying from account page. Maybe make sure you are on the dice page?

BetKing is closed.
After over 3.5 years of providing the most trusted Bitcoin gambling site BetKing is now closed.

Please withdraw any funds remaining in your balance.

The page will be kept live for a month or two to allow people to withdraw. After that you will need to email support@betking.io to claim your balance.

Thanks to all the players and investors who helped make BetKing one of the best Bitcoin gambling sites.

Good luck in 2017

Dean

Rakeback for the past week has been paid.

Please note that was the last rakeback payment. It was a bonus over Christmas for the past month Wink

Thanks

Error in rakeback calculation. Didn't include the days before the site went offline. I'll get it corrected asap.

Doog, did you invest here?

No, I didn't.

You mind sharing your reasons not to? You can pm it to me if you want.

My default position is not to invest in things. Dice sites in particular seem pretty risky as investments. Even if the site does well you still have to consider the risk of the site getting hacked or the owner of the site being dishonest. Nothing against Dean or BetKing in particular. I guess just holding Bitcoin is a big enough risk for me.

Also seems the biggest reason for the refund, Bitcoin price has increased so much since the start of the ICO that some people are looking to sell for profit now.

As mentioned I emailed everyone asking if they prefer a refund or not.

There is 620 Btc raised so far and from the replies 140 btc want a refund so far.

If another 80+ btc more wants a refund then the ICO will be cancelled.

Thanks

I've emailed everyone who invested 0.1 or more to ask if they want to remain invested or not.
Everyone will be refunded on the 1st if they don't reply stating otherwise.

Also they were asked if they wanted added to slack.

If you are invested for 0.1 or more and did not get the email then pm me with your account details.

Thanks

After the ICO ends I'll create a slack channel for investors to be in where we can discuss plans, features and priorities etc.

There's a BetKing slack already but will add an investor room to it.

Is there an invite link to the BetKing slack?

I'll most likely email everyone who invested in the ICO (not previous bankroll investors).
